KAYTRANADA Releases Of Pair Of Lowkey Jams With New EP “Lover/Friend”

Haitian-born producer KAYTRANADA has firmly established himself at this point in his career. Ever since bursting onto the scene back in 2016 with his debut album, 99.9%, his trajectory has only gone up from there. What helped immediately stand out to listeners was how willing he was to produce for different genres. Over time, KAYTRANADA has gotten better with each release. He has become an expert in basically every sound he has dabbled in. From house, hip-hop, dance, funk, R&B, and electronic, he can do it all.

This year was the first time he came out with a collaboration project. For many, it went over pretty well. KAYTRANADA and the always-colorful Aminé routinely brought out the best in each other. KAYTRAMINÉ featured the infectious “4EVA” with Pharrell Williams. It was an immediate summer hit. Additionally, tracks like “Master P” with Big Sean, and “EYE” with Snoop Dogg were solid as well.

The first cut, “Lover/Friend” has shimmering vocals from Rochelle Jordan. Track two, “Stuntin” features some lowkey rapping from Channel Tres. Both have a mellow feel that KAY has essentially trademarked at this point. Give them a spin above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new EP from KAYTRANADA, Lover/Friend? Big Scarr Drops Some Cold Tracks On His Posthumous Album “Frozone”

Memphis, Tennessee has brought us a lot of exciting voices in rap over the past few years. One of those rising talents includes Big Scarr. If you have not heard his material before, he has that signature deep and intimidating voice. It is very similar to Key Glock and Young Dolph.

Unfortunately, his legacy in the hip-hop genre was short lived. The then 22-year old rapper tragically passed away from a drug overdose. TMZ Hip Hop reported this, as well as a lot of other publications on December 23 of last year. It was obviously shocking news. As many estates have for other rappers, they are still getting some music out to help continue the spread of their artistry.

Listen To Frozone By Big Scarr

That is the case here for Scarr’s team. In fact, this is the second album from them this year. Gucci Mane’s 1017 Global Music label, which Scarr was a part of was behind this. Guwop announced it on his Instagram yesterday. This latest LP is called Frozone and it might be one of the best put together posthumous releases in recent memory. Clearly, Scarr was at a high level during these recordings. There is tons quality spitting and beat selection. One of the tracks to check out is “Still The Same.” The use of the constant piano keys bring a fast tempo style, which Scarr absolutely shreds. If you are looking for solid trap bangers with a Southern tinge, this is the project for you.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new posthumous album from Big Scarr, Frozone? Is this his best project out of The Secret Weapon and Big Grim Reaper: The Return? Which tracks are you enjoying the most so far? Did Scarr have some of the most untapped potential in the game? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Big Scarr. Skepta Teams Up With 19-Year-Old Producer, Ryder, For “48 Hours” EP

Skepta’s career is one of diversity and adaptability. The Tottenham rapper and DJ has experimented a lot over his roughly two-decade-long run in the hip-hop industry. From grime, and trap, to EDM even, the man has many tools in the tool belt. Back in mid-October, the 41-year-old put out a single that saw him bring a new twist to an Amy Winehouse classic, “Tears Dry On Their Own.” The track was retitled as “Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute To Amy).”

That was the most recent addition to Skepta’s new house-focused label, Más Tiempo. The entertainment group is a joint effort with a familiar face from Boy Better Know, Jammer. With all of that going on, he has not been able to put a lot of energy into his solo career. It has been four years since his last effort, Ignorance is Bliss. But, he seems to getting back into it a bit by teaming up with a rising producer, Ryder.

Fetty Wap Reigns Supreme With New Album “King Zoo”

In the ever-evolving kingdom of hip-hop, Fetty Wap asserts his dominance once again with the release of his highly anticipated album, King Zoo. The rap sensation returns with his first album since 2021. The 17-track project, released via 300 Entertainment, showcases his boldest, brightest, and best work to date. The journey continues with “Northern Lights,” a track where Fetty’s voice glides effortlessly over uplifting piano and punchy 808s, delivering a message straight from the heart.

Reflecting on his journey, Fetty gets introspective in “Undeniable,” blending infectious melodies with a vibrant soundscape. The catchy chorus of “Addicted to you like a drug” in “Undeniable” becomes an anthem for those hooked on Fetty’s signature sound. “Saint Michael V2”: Trippie Redd Delivers 10 New Songs On Full-Length Project

After a quiet 2022, Trippie Redd fans have been eating good all 2023. The Ohio-born artist began the year with a bang, dropping MANSION MUSIK in January, and after letting that settle for a bit, he closed out the summer with A Love Letter To You 5. Little did we know that Trippie was on his way to becoming a father at this time, and after unleashing his Saint Michael EP with the world a few weeks back, he shared the first photo of his little one with the world. That seven-track effort saw just one feature, from BANKS on “Saint Michael Myers,” and quickly brought the genre-bending artist tons of praise.

When he confirmed that 10 new songs would be coming on Saint Michael V2 this New Music Friday (November 24), hip-hop heads were eager to hear what else Redd has been cooking up. The LP opens with “#RBDG” before 9lives joins the lyricist for “Popular.” Later on in the tracklist we hear from YTB Fatt and K Suave on “Snail Shells” and “TrippieSuave” respectively.
