Tyler The Creator Has Been Accused Of Making ‘Racist Sh*t’ Following The Release Of His Latest Single ‘Thought I Was Dead’

Tyler The Creator has been called many things throughout his career. But, a new accusation thrown onto the “St. Chroma” rapper’s jacket has fans hip-hop fans furious.

A line in Tyler The Creator’s latest Chromakopia single, “Thought I Was Dead,” didn’t sit well with famed producer Mike Dean. “White boys mockin’ this sh*t and y’all mad at me? Y’all can suck my d*ck / Pull up old tweets, pull up old t-shirts, all that, I moonwalk over that b*tch,” raps Tyler in the track’s opening verse.

Shortly after learning about the line, in an Instagram comment (viewable here) Mike Dean accused Tyler’s bars of being racist. “Racist sh*t,” he wrote.

Tyler hasn’t responded to Mike Dean’s call-out. However, users online have turned to script on Mike Dean. “Mike Dean is much of a troll as Tyler don’t take this serious,” penned one user.

Others stood in full support of Tyler’s bar, alleging that it was a necessary did at Lil Yachty’s artist Ian.

“Racist for stating FACTS? This gaslighting ass sh*t outta here,” chimed another.

“Tyler’s comments were thought-provoking and deserve thoughtful discussion. As an artist, he often uses provocative language to challenge perspectives,” added another.

This isn’t the first time Tyler has supposedly addressed Ian’s entry into the culture. Back in August, during an appearance on SpringHill’s Mavericks With Mav Carter podcast seemingly called out those propping Ian up, saying: “[There’s] this white kid, regular Caucasian man, and he’s like mocking Future and Gucci Mane… like rap music. People are like, ‘this sh*t hard.’ It’s not even like satire… I hold rap music so close to my heart. This sh*t changed my life and everyone’s life around me.”

Kanye West Announced His Next Solo Album ‘Bully’ Before Debuting Its Featured Track ‘Beauty And The Beast’

Has Ye (more commonly known as Kanye West) abandoned the rumored Vultures 3 project with Ty Dolla Sign? Well, that the question fans of the musical duo are asking themselves today (September 28).

During the “Talking/Once Again” rapper’s latest concert in Haikou, China, he announced his next solo studio album. In front of the packed Wuyuan River Stadium crowd, Kanye West confirmed that his next back of work, Bully, will be released soon.

“I got a new album coming out,” he said. “The album’s called ‘Bully,’ and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.’”

In the video captured by concertgoers. (viewable here), Kanye West then graciously debuted the track. “I still think about it every night and day to try to stay away, to keep my audience / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to redirect,” sings West.

Fans immediately began to look for clues regarding the forthcoming project. The first sprinkle of information came from Mike Dean, a longtime collaborator of Kanye West. Over on Instagram (viewable here), the producer seemed to confirm support theories that West would be reworking vaulted songs, by writing: “Donda leftover.”

Ordinarily the comment could come off as passive-aggressive (especially considering their history), but keeping in mind the supposed mountain of legal blowback from his Vultures album pulling from his own work might be best. However, the 2021 album also faced copyright infringement lawsuits.

No updates were provided regarding the future of Vultures 3.

Scarface was joined by his right-hand man, Mike Dean, for a six-song performance. The setlist included “On My Block,” “Mary Jane,” “Smile,” “I Seen a Man Die,” “F*** Faces,” and “Mind Playing Tricks on Me.” According to Billboard, Tiny Desk producer DJ Cuzzin B could not help but gush about Scarface and Dean’s output. He called it the “best hip-hop Tiny Desk we’ve ever put out.”

The Weeknd Posts Studio Pics With Metro Boomin & Mike Dean, Fuels Release Rumors

Abel Tesfaye will soon hang up The Weeknd moniker, but not before he finishes his trilogy (and discography) with its last installment. Moreover, his most recent social media post hinted to fans that his last era is in development, and that he has some big and familiar names helping him out. The Canadian superstar recently uploaded some studio session pictures to his Twitter account featuring none other than Metro Boomin and Mike Dean. Considering both legendary producers’ extensive collaborative history with Abel, it’s no wonder that fans are expecting more heat from this link-up. All they can hope for is that something drops soon, and that this post isn’t just a tease that won’t come to fruition for a while longer.

However, since the After Hours creative is still on tour, maybe he takes a while before diving into another project full-on. That being said, he did keep up with the rollout and release of his HBO series “The Idol” during these tours, in addition to dropping new music for it. Sure, the show was far from the most universally praised piece of content this year, but it was certainly one of the most talked-about. As such, all this anticipation and these extracurricular have fans thirsting for The Weeknd’s grand finale.

The Weeknd, Mike Dean & Metro Boomin Are Cooking Something Up

Furthermore, the most likely scenario is that his next album will complete the trilogy established by the aforementioned 2020 LP and Dawn FM. Still, there are other avenues that The Weeknd could take to wrap up this phase of his career, and they might involve some names in these studio snaps. For example, Mike Dean said that he and the 33-year-old are working on a joint project. Given their appearances on each other’s previous work, this wouldn’t be surprising, but no less welcome for die-hards.

Meanwhile, we’ll see if the XO mogul returns to R&B and trap-flavored sounds or if he keeps the club party going with more dance inspiration. Either way, it should make for a monumental, grandiose, and fitting end to one of the most influential and successful artistic runs of the 21st century. One thing’s for sure, though: maybe the name behind House Of Balloons will be no more, but Abel Tesfaye’s not going anywhere. For more news and the latest updates on The Weeknd, stay up to date on HNHH.

Travis Scott And Mike Dean Work On “UTOPIA” At Abbey Road Studios

Travis Scott and his producer Mike Dean were recently spotted working on Scott’s upcoming album, UTOPIA, at Abbey Road Studios. Dean shared a photo of the rapper on Instagram, writing “WE AT ABBEY!” The London recording studio is known for becoming a home base for The Beatles in the ’60s, later being renamed after their 1969 LP, Abbey Road. Travis Scott and his security team recently recreated the iconic album cover, walking in a line outside the studio with Scott’s famous UTOPIA briefcase in tow.

Scott has continued to tease the highly-anticipated album, being spotted several times recently with security toting the UTOPIA briefcase. Last week, Mike Dean even opened it, hinting to fans that the LP may be coming soon. He shared a photo on Instagram looking into the open briefcase, asking fans “What’s in the case?” This, of course, led to fans speculating on the album’s release date in the comments section. Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone previously said that the album is set to drop sometime this month, but no official release date has been confirmed.

According to Complex, fans may have a SZA feature to look forward to sometime in the near future. The outlet claims that a source told them the two have been recording new music together as of late. Behind-the-scenes photos of SZA’s “SOS” tour recently showed a member of her security team handcuffed to the UTOPIA briefcase. Scott also joined the songstress on stage at her tour stop in Amsterdam.

At a performance last month, Scott also teased a new collab with Bad Bunny, playing a snippet of the unreleased track at a Monaco club. This left listeners thinking that the Puerto Rican rapper may appear on UTOPIA. Fans also suspect that The Weeknd could be featured on the upcoming album. Last month, he shared photos alongside a security guard cuffed to the UTOPIA briefcase. Scott and the briefcase also made appearances at the premiere of The Weeknd’s series, The Idol, at Cannes Film Festival.

Mike Dean Announced Another Joint Album With The Weeknd Is On The Way, But Not Until He Finishes ‘Utopia’

Mike Dean has a lot on his plate. Earlier this year, he shared his new album 4:23, which was produced by The Weeknd. Abel Tesfaye has been at the center of conversation with The Idol finally airing, and Dean also collaborated with him for the soundtrack. Now he has even more on the way.

“Thank you,” he tweeted in response to a fan. “I’m on tour. Finishing utopia. And doing another mike dean / weeknd album.”

Utopia is the highly anticipated new album from Travis Scott, which Dean is confirmed to be mastering. So far, it’s rumored to have a Bad Bunny feature. “I had to come down and play Utopia for the [Houston Astros] boys in the locker room,” Scott said about it in May. “I had to get them right for the game. Finished and mastered, Mark. You know how we do, Mark. from the clubhouse to the stu.”

Music from The Idol is still rolling out with each episode. “I was planning on dropping the whole soundtrack for [The Idol] by the finale, but I’m too hyped… instead, I wanna drop new music from the show every week with each episode,” Tesfaye captioned an Instagram post. “I’m excited for you guys to hear what we’ve been cooking and all these incredible artists that are a part of this show… this week… Jocelyn’s pop song ‘world class sinner’ and ‘the lure’ (theme score)… episode 2 this Sunday [purple devil emoji].”

The Weeknd And Mike Dean Released More Eerie ‘The Idol’ Music After The HBO Show’s Second Episode

The Idol aired its second episode on Sunday, June 11, and while many viewers were focused on the increasing role of Blackpink’s Jennie Kim, The Weeknd is committed to releasing singles from the HBO series’ soundtrack.

“World Class Sinner” and “The Lure” arrived ahead of Sunday’s episode — joining the previously released “Double Fantasy” featuring Future and “Popular” featuring Madonna and Playboi Carti — and two new singles joined the mounting batch after the episode: “Family” by The Weeknd with Suzanna Son and “Devil’s Paradise” by Mike Dean.

Tesfaye was particularly excited about Son’s The Idol character, Chloe, as evidenced by his Instagram activity, including a clip of Chloe playing “Family” at the piano.

The Weekend (real name Abel Tesfaye) shared his The Idol music plan last Wednesday, June 7.

The Idol was co-created by Tesfaye, Sam Levinson (Euphoria), and Reza Fahim.

“After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America,” HBO’s official synopsis reads. “Her passions are reignited by Tedros (Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?”
