NARCY & redveil Team Up For Politically Charged Track “Sword”

NARCY is an MC who has always taken a stand against injustice. Overall, the Montreal-based artist is a creative through and through. He doesn’t mind taking artistic risks, especially when they can help enhance his message. For instance, he was one of the first artists to make a music video entirely out of AI. This is all the more impressive when you realize he did it before the ChatGPT boom from 2023. Moreover, NARCY is also a professor who has taught classes at Concordia University about hip-hop, and he even had a course on Kanye West that made headlines a few years ago.

Through all of these endeavors, NARCY has still found the time to make music. For instance, today, he dropped off “Sword,” a thought-provoking politically-charged track that features redveil. This song contains somber yet uplifting production that has gorgeous strings throughout. The music matches the images of the music video perfectly, as we see numerous people trying to live their daily lives in a war-torn area. The lyrics speak about war crimes and the destruction happening in the Middle East. The Israel-Palestine situation is one that has been devastating for decades, and it is weighing heavily on the minds of many artists. NARCY does a fantastic job of navigating the conflict, calling out injustice and showing the world that this isn’t right.

Recording Academy Plans Global Expansion into Africa and the Middle East

The Recording Academy announced its efforts to expand globally. The organization that oversees the Grammys is partnering with Ministries of Culture and key stakeholders across the Middle East and Africa. This exciting initiative aims to strengthen the Academy’s presence and services in these regions.

“This is exciting because music is one of humanity’s greatest natural resources,” said Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy. “It is critical that the people who dedicate themselves to creating music have support, resources, and opportunities, no matter where they are from.”

Over the past two years, the Academy has been engaging with leaders in these regions through listening sessions, briefings, tours, and direct consultations with government ministries and music creators. Their expansion goals include providing enhanced training via their “GRAMMY GO” learning platform, offering tailored educational programs and resources, and producing original content that celebrates the musical heritage and emerging scenes of Africa and the Middle East.

Regarding thinking globally, the Academy collaborates with cultural ministries and organizations in Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Abu Dhabi (UAE), Rwanda, and South Africa. They have also signed memoranda of understanding with Ghana and the Ivory Coast. The Academy plans to publish reports detailing its research and insights into these music markets.

“The Recording Academy is dedicated to supporting music creators around the world,” said Panos A. Panay, Recording Academy President. “Our expansion efforts into these fast-growing regions reflect our commitment to fostering a truly global music community, where creators at every stage of their careers and from every corner of the world have the resources and support they need to thrive.”

Kanye West Announces Plans To Build His Own City

Kanye West is nothing if not ambitious. He’s often tried to take on some monumental challenges that very few other artists would even attempt. That can sometimes frustrate fans when projects are announced and never followed up it. West has a notorious history of projects never materializing. Some of the most notable examples being albums he announces that never drop. A recent collaborative project he announced with Ty Dolla $ign was supposed to drop over the weekend but never did. The album is now rumored to drop on New Year’s Eve, but fans aren’t exactly getting their hopes up.

Now, in a new Tweet, the mysterious rapper has made his most ambitious announcement yet, an entire self-sustaining city. He shared a short press release for a city called DROAM which is reportedly still in Phase 1 development. The plans for the city are wildly ambitious with the promise that it will span 100,000 acres, approximately twice the size of New York City. In the post, he’s also asking for collaborators to sign onto the project to help him. He’s looking for project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and builders to join the team working on the city. Check out the full post below.

Kanye West Working On New City In The Middle East

The announcement comes just a day after a report that Kanye West’s Los Angeles church has been completely abandoned. West purchased the Church in March of this year for $1.5 million but after he spent the past few months in Europe, the church is now in disarray. Included in the report are pictures of the church with boarded up windows and piling up trash.

Kanye also listed his Malibu home for sale earlier this week. The house was notoriously stripped down almost entirely of its faculties earlier this year and is now basically gutted. That’s why fans were so surprised that the listing price was an astronomical $53 million. What do you think of Kanye West’s idea to build an entire new city in the Middle East? Do you think the project will ever get close to being completed? Let us know in the comment section below.
