Dana White Confirms Mark Zuckerberg’s UFC Interest

The fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg may be dead, but that doesn’t mean we’re done with the billionaire MMA. Dana White has confirmed that Mark Zuckerberg is indeed serious considering making his debut under the UFC promotion. “He and I talk multiple times a week,” White said of Zuckerberg. “And we had dinner last Monday. He’s very serious about competing. And when he mentioned it, he said — listen — what he was saying in response to Elon was there are tons of professional organizations out there and this is the way this should be done, not in some backyard or whatever Elon was saying.” White, who was speaking with TMZ, explained that Zuckerberg was put off after it became clear that Elon was trying to avoid a formal fight and was looking for something more amateur.

But now, Zuck’s eyeing the UFC. “I would say he is absolutely interested,” White said of Zuck fighting under his promotion. He didn’t give many more details but it’s a major update to the whole billionaire MMA situation. Side note – there has been so many inadvertent pop culture references in this entire debacle. Elon saying that X would stream the fight is straight out of Silicon Valley. Then there’s that plot line in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. when Monica’s dating the super-rich guy who really wants to be an MMA fighter but also sucks at MMA.

When Could We See Zuck In The UFC?

White didn’t give many details. He was primarily on TMZ to hype O’Malley-Sterling, the headline fight for UFC 292 in Boston this weekend. However, he appears very onboard with the idea of the Meta founder fighting under the UFC banner. As previously reported, Zuckerberg is very serious about his combat sports. It’s a big reason why he pulled out of the fight with Elon – he (Zuck) actually cares about this.

Earlier this week, Vicente Luque also weighed in on the idea of Zuck fighting in the promotion. “I definitely think [a Zuckerberg fight is] something that can happen. It does seem like he’s really disciplined,” Luque told TMZ. “He not trying just to hype all this stuff. He’s trying to work the right way, build himself little by little from the ground up. And I respect that a lot. I think it has to be a fight that makes sense. I think it has to be a guy that has kind of like the same level of experience, you know, because competing in combat sports is something that is not only about the technique and the skills you have, it’s also very mental. So I feel like that would be an important thing.”

Elon Musk & Mark Zuckerberg Fight Remains In Limbo, “Zuck Declined,” Tesla CEO Says

There’s been plenty of talk about Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg coming head-to-head, but it seems very few action steps are actually being put into motion. Both tech gurus have received offers from renowned athletes to help them train, though they both have years of experience in various martial arts disciplines, to begin with. There are major physical differences between Musk and Zuckerberg that have raised concerns, such as their 7″ height difference (6’2″ and 5’7″, respectively), as well as their weight disparity (230 and 145).

Nevertheless, both have expressed determination to move forward with arranging an event (live streamed on X, of course), until the Meta head expressed frustration about his competitor’s lack of seriousness this past weekend. “I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on,” Zuckerberg shared via Threads. “I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity.”

Elon Musk Breaks Down the Mark Zuckerberg Situation

According to the South African, however, that might not be the case. His version of the story (as told in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon) claims that Zuckerberg specifically declined to fight at the Colosseum. Still determined to bring their vision to fruition, Musk suggested a fight at the 39-year-old’s home Octogan as a “safe space.” “Tragically, he was ahem, ‘travelling,’” the engineer snarked while sharing a DailyMail article reporting on how the fight first became a discussion.

Elon Musk makes it sound like Mark Zuckerberg is the one being difficult, or perhaps avoiding the fight. It appears that if/when the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter does name a location, then his multi-talented opponent is more than up to the challenge. Interestingly, the Meta CEO shared how seriously he’s been taking his training by discussing some of the changes he’s apparently made to his diet to help him grow closer in weight to Elon. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Mark Zuckerberg Says Elon Musk “Isn’t Serious” About Fighting: “It’s Time To Move On”

Mark Zuckerberg called out Elon Musk amid their ongoing feud on social media, Saturday. In doing so, he remarked on the site, Threads, that the Tesla billionaire “isn’t serious” about their much-discussed cage fight match.

“I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on. I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity,” Zuckerberg wrote. “Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead. If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.”

Musk and Zuckerberg initially agreed to the idea of a fight back in June; however, in the time since, the two have gotten little done in terms of organizing the match. Instead, they’ve mostly bickered over social media. At one point, Musk claimed he might need surgery and mentioned getting an MRI.

On Sunday, Musk shared a screenshot of a text message exchange between himself and Zuckerberg. “I don’t want to keep hyping something that will never happen, so you should either decide you’re going to do this and do it soon, or we should move on,” Zuckerberg wrote to Musk, who admitted that he hasn’t been “practicing much.”

Mark Zuckerberg Seems To Call Off Fight, Says Elon Musk “Isn’t Serious”

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the “tech bro fight of the century” since Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg first teased it. With that being said, the two of them have been going back and forth regarding the details of the fight as of late. Last week, Musk took to Twitter/X to announce that the UFC would no longer be involved. Apparently, Zuckerberg never agreed to that. He further alluded to the fight taking place at the Colosseum, but it looks like now it could just not happen at all.

Today, Zuck hopped on Threads to let fans know that he’s not playing around anymore. According to him, Musk’s not been taking the fight seriously, and he’s over it. “I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on,” he wrote. “I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity.”

Zuckerberg Wants To Compete With Those Who “Take The Sport Seriously”

“Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead. If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me,” he adds. “Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.”

Zuckerberg’s post doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, as the Meta founder’s been hinting that he’s sick of Elon’s antics for some time. With that being said, there’s still a chance that if he fully commits, they could still battle it out. For now though, it seems like Zuckerberg would rather spend his time with a more worthwhile competitor.

Mark Zuckerberg Pushes Back Against Elon Musk’s Desire To Control MMA Fight

The proposed MMA fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg is once in doubt. The fight has been linked to the UFC as long as it’s been a possibility. However, Musk made the unusual decision to cut ties with the Dana White org. In a tweet, the X/Twitter owner said the UFC was no longer in the picture and that “The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations.” He also said the fight would occur in an “epic location” and mentioned Italy. This comes just a day after White had said he was in active negotiations with the Italian government for the use of the Colosseum as a venue.

Furthermore, it appears that Zuckerberg didn’t get the “bye bye UFC” memo. Speaking on Threads, Zuckerberg cast doubt that the fight would go ahead. “Please assume anything [Musk] says has not been agreed on,” the Meta founder wrote. “Not holding my breath for Elon, but I’ll share details on my next fight when I’m ready,” he added. “When I compete, I want to do it in a way that puts a spotlight on the elite athletes at the top of the game. You do that by working with professional orgs like the UFC or ONE to pull this off well and create a great card.”

Musk Balks, Needs Surgery

However, Elon’s desire to wrestle control of the fight from the UFC is not the only reason the fight is being shelved. Musk has revealed that he is undergoing minor surgery to rectify an issue with his shoulder blade. This means that he will be out of action for several months. The fight likely wouldn’t happen before UFC 300 anyway. Even then, Musk will need time to recover and resume training before he was ready to fight again.

Despite this, there is an interesting part of Zuckerberg’s statement that appears to be going largely overlooked. Not holding my breath for Elon, but I’ll share details on my next fight when I’m ready.” Does this mean that Zuckerberg is planning an MMA debut without Musk? After all, he takes his combat sports very seriously and even has a practice octagon in his backyard. Perhaps one of the reasons that Musk was unwilling to leave Dana White was because he has bigger plans for the UFC beyond his gimmick fight with Musk. This remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Dana White Revisits Idea Of Hosting Musk V Zuckerberg At The Colosseum

One of the more bizarre elements of the ongoing saga concerning an MMA fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg came in mid-June. Reportedly, someone within the office of the Italian Minister of Culture had reached out to Zuckerberg’s team to offer the Colosseum as a venue for the fight. Zuckerberg’s team reportedly passed the offer on to Dana White. After TMZ broke the story, the Italian government quickly denied the story. Furthermore, renowned Roman archaeologist Dr. Darius Arya believed that the idea was a) impossible and b) likely to face major resistance from the Italian populace.

However, the idea isn’t dead according to White. “I actually did have a meeting with the Minister of Culture’s team in Italy to actually hold that fight in the Colosseum if it would happen. We’re talking,” White told TMZ this week. “Think about how big that fight is — two of the richest, most powerful guys in the fucking world are gonna fight on the biggest stage ever. Who the fuck doesn’t wanna see that fight?? … That’s the kind of fight your fucking grandmother would watch that fight.”

Is Musk V Zuckerberg Happening?

However, despite White’s bold claim, we’re still no closer to the fight actually happening. Musk and Zuckerberg are both training for the fight, despite there not being a confirmed event, date, or location. Many people believe that the fight will be part of the proceedings for next year’s UFC 300. However, a rival promotion just put out an announcement that could throw a spanner in the UFC’s plans.

Bellator, widely considered UFC’s primary MMA rival, announced their main card for Bellator 300 on August 9. The event in San Diego will feature four title fights involving eight established and well-respected fighters. That’s a massive win for the promotion, showcasing their ability to put on marquee events. However, it also throws down the gauntlet for the UFC. When they reach UFC 300 next year, they need to top what Bellator is able to put on. And therein the problem lies – Musk v. Zuckerberg brings you money, but it doesn’t bring you pedigree. It’s a gimmick fight and putting it into an event like UFC 300 will only serve to hurt the brand’s reputation.

Mark Zuckerberg Calls Out Elon Musk Over Potential Cage Fight

Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk traded shots on social media over the weekend regarding the idea of fighting each other in a previously discussed cage match. Musk remarked in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the fight would be streamed on the aforementioned platform if it does occur. Zuckerberg, using his new site, Threads, trolled Musk over the comment.

“Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?” the Meta CEO fired back at Musk on Threads. Before Zuckerberg’s comment, Musk had also remarked that he’s been “lifting weights throughout the day preparing for the fight.” He added: “Don’t have time to work out, so I just bring them to work. Aiming to get to 50-pound free weights this week. I build muscle fast. Physical endurance is my weak spot, so I’m aiming to make this quick.”

“I’m ready today,” Zuckerberg further said on Threads. “I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not holding my breath. I love this sport and will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens here.” Discussing his chances in the bout, Musk said: “If the fight is short, I probably win. If long, he may win on endurance. I am much bigger and there is a reason MMA has weight divisions.”

Musk and Zuckerberg initially agreed to the idea of a fight back in June; however, little progress towards it coming to fruition has amounted since then. Zuckerberg even told Meta employees at the end of July that he doubted it would end up happening.

Elon Musk To Live Stream Mark Zuckerberg Fight On X

Elon Musk recently took to X, giving an update on his upcoming fight with Mark Zuckerberg. The two tech moguls have been teasing the battle for a minute, and now it’s looking like it’s actually going to happen. According to Musk, fans can get a front-row seat to the high-anticipated fight on his newly-rebranded X, and all proceeds will be donated to charity to help veterans. Reportedly, the two of them have been training with the likes of UFC legends, so this should be good.

There’s no official date for the fight yet, however, TMZ claims it won’t be happening for at least another few months. According to the outlet, Musk needs some more time to prepare. The duo has a pretty huge size disparity, which some critics note could make for an unfair fight. Musk stands at 6’2″ and 230 lbs, while Zuckerberg stands at 5’7″ and 150 lbs. With that being said, Zuckerberg is a fair bit younger than Musk, and has been training for far longer. The fight location is also yet to be announced.

Earlier this week, Zuckerberg told Threads that he’s been eating a pretty hefty diet as of late. Though most of his calorie intake is coming from fast food, it appears to be working for him. “Not cutting weight so I need ~4000 calories a day to offset all the activity,” he explained. The Meta founder also revealed his go-to McDonald’s order while in training, which is “20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some side cheeseburgers for later.”

It was reported last month that Zuck has enlisted the help of UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. Musk is tapping Georges St. Pierre and John Danaher for his training. While it appeared that Musk could have been distracted by Twitter’s recent rebranding, it’s clear that he hasn’t forgotten about what’s been dubbed the “tech bro fight of the century.”

Somehow, the MMA fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk is still in the works. Despite claims that Musk’s mother had nixed the fight, and major logistical issues like their weight disparity, the two men are still seemingly eager to fight one another. Both men have enlisted the help of UFC legends to train with. While Musk has joined forces with Georges St. Pierre, Zuckerberg has been sparring with Israel Adesanya.

Joining Bloomberg reporter Ashley Vance on a Twitter space back in June, Musk was immediately asked about the fight against Zuckerberg. Vance pointed out that Zuckerberg is actively learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and boxing. After this preamble, Vance noted that the fight could “go badly” for Musk. Musk would only enter with a height and weight advantage. “Yeah, that’s possible,” Musk conceded before saying that he’s still willing to try and that the fight “might still happen.” Musk has painted himself into a corner. He is unable to retract his challenge without looking like he’s running away from his tech rival.

Zuckerberg Reveals Calorie Intake, McDonald’s Order

Taking to Threads, Zuckerberg revealed his McDonald’s order as part of his training regime to take on Musk. “20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some side cheeseburgers for later?,” the Meta founder said. HotNewHipHop has confirmed via the McDonald’s menu that Zuck’s order (calculating for three cheeseburgers in place of “some side cheeseburgers”) comes to 3390 calories. However, not everyone was impressed by his massive order. “You’re in camp! No McDonalds 😂,” remarked current UFC fighter Mark David.

“Not cutting weight so I need ~4000 calories a day to offset all the activity. And it’s so delicious…,” Zuck argued. At the time of writing, Zuck is around 85lb lighter than Musk. That’s a four-weight-class difference, with Zuck in featherweight and Musk in light heavyweight. We still don’t have any word on when or where the fight will take place but it appears that Zuck is taking things very seriously in the meantime.

Mark Zuckerberg Training With Israel Adesanya, Alex Volkanovski

Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk is quickly becoming the tech bro fight of the century. UFC President Dana White is overseeing the cage match between the Founder of SpaceX/Twitter owner and the CEO/Founder of Meta (Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Now, fighting superstars are getting into the mix, offering to help the two amateur fighters get into solid shape. While controversial figure Andrew Tate has offered to train Elon Musk and Jon “Bones” Jones offered his training services to Mark Zuckerberg, Mark has taken a different training route.

Zuck has been seen training with UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya and UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski. The Nigerian-New Zealander and Australian, respectively, are posing with Zuckerberg in a recent photo uploaded to Instagram via RapTV. As of this writing, Volkanovksi is number one in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings, while Adesanya is fifth. The two “trainers” make sense for Mark, who is smaller and lanky in stature. He’ll want to have kickboxing and grappling in his fighting repertoire for when he faces off against Elon.

The Hype Surrounding Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg

Everybody wants a piece of this Elon Musk-Mark Zuckerberg feud. Alexander “The Great” and “Style Bender” Adesanya are just two of the celebrities attaching their clout to the bout. According to MMAFighting.com, Dana White has a specific date in mind for the octagon rumble, saying it won’t be UFC 300, but it will closely follow. UFC 300, a marquee lineup for the sport, is set to go down in Vegas in early 2024.

While Mark Zuckerberg is spreading out his training partners, Elon Musk has been training with Georges St. Pierre and his world-famous grappling coach, John Danaher. Technically, Musk has a significant size advantage over Zuck, which is probably why Mark is tripling down on his training. As for sanctions for the fight and any hoops to jump through, Dana White isn’t too concerned. He wants this fight to happen, and any challenge will be well worth the billionaire brawl.
