Adin Ross Accuses Playboi Carti Of Scamming Him Again

Adin Ross is one of the biggest streamers in the entire world. Overall, he got his start over on Twitch. However, thanks to numerous bans, he eventually jumped ship and helped start Kick. Kick is an alternative platform that is heavily funded by crypto gambling website Stake. Although Kick is filled with debauchery and antics, there are plenty of Gen Alpha and Gen Z kids out there who are eager to consume the brain rot. Ross has tried to be a big brother figure on the website, to varying degrees of success.

Recently, Ross had Playboi Carti on his stream. This happened the night of the Grammys, and it led to a catastrophic 10 minutes. Carti refused to say anything of substance, and Ross was clearly frustrated. Furthermore, Ross had paid Carti $1 million for the appearance. Subsequently, Carti was called out on social media, and he was seemingly trying to patch things up. Ross had even said that a second stream was gong to take place soon and that he and Carti were communicating with one another. Well, during his most recent stream, Ross revealed that Carti allegedly ghosted him, thus putting an end to their relationship.

Adin Ross Speaks Out

“Don’t think Carti 2 is happening anymore,” Ross said. “I have a theory that Carti was just texting me to kind of just keep me in the position where I’m not gonna be on his bad side, where I’m on the internet talking crazy, if that makes sense — to get the heat off his name type shit. I think I got played, but hey bro, it is what it is. Because I was texting his phone and he stopped answering out of nowhere. I have the warehouse footage. I’m about to just release it. Once I get the confirmation that we’re not doing part two. Is that blackmail? I mean dude, I kind of got scammed, so I’m blackmailing a fucking scam so you can’t blame me.”

Blackmailing probably won’t work, but who is to say? Kick is the wild west, and Ross is the leader of the pack. At this point, it is unlikely that Carti will even respond. Let us know what you think of this drama, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

How Adin Ross & Kai Cenat Are Making Hip-Hop Streams A Hot Debate

Few hip-hop fans can engage with some of the biggest artists in the genre today without coming across a streamer or two. Kai Cenat and Adin Ross, on the Twitch and Kick platforms respectively, are certainly leading the pack in that regard. Moreover, their livestreams with rappers have been fan favorites for a few years now, and they show no signs of slowing down. However, their rise also provoked a tough, complex, and divisive conversation between the old guard of hip-hop media and journalism and this new emergence. According to “old heads” and critics of streamers like Cenat, Ross, IShowSpeed, and many more, they don’t really represent the culture, respect its foundations and missions, or platform it in a benevolent or knowledge-based manner.

But do Kai Cenat and Adin Ross have to hold themselves to these standards of hip-hop coverage to deserve a platform? They are by no means rap-centric, as they make content about a variety of things (and handled their own external conflicts outside of hip-hop, such as the New Yorker’s chaotic in-person giveaway and the Floridian’s controversial views or his promotion of them). In that last regard, they’ve resolved and moved past those, but the questions of their role in hip-hop culture remain unanswered. What does this generational divide mean for the future of the genre and community, how can all of us bridge that gap, and can (and should) these young, outspoken voices find not just success in the larger media world, but also respect from it?

Killer Mike’s Grammy Win: Kai Cenat’s Youth Vs. Joe Budden’s Experience

A post shared by DJ Akademiks (@akademiks)

There’s perhaps no better starting point than to answer these questions at its core: are these streamers “right” about hip-hop? When Killer Mike recently won the Best Rap Album Grammy for MICHAEL, Kai Cenat, Adin Ross, and many others questioned who he was, and lamented Travis Scott’s UTOPIA‘s loss. Joe Budden blasted this take, aggressively saying that “it’s not about [them].” Cenat and Ross retorted quickly, flaunting their financial success and remarking how he always trashes both new music and new media. This would’ve all been much easier to empathize with if they knew who Mike was and just preferred UTOPIA over MICHAEL. A lack of familiarity with a genre you’re such a fan of reflects a lack of interest in the culture’s roots, and it made valid preferences of contemporary juggernauts harder to justify.

Of course, this “old vs. new” debate has been a part of rap from the very beginning, and it’s not wrong at all to prefer UTOPIA over MICHAEL. The real issue is that, while folks like Kai Cenat and Adin Ross get grander in the mainstream, they seem to only champion the most current artists making waves. Their visibility pulls all of hip-hop up with them, and without fully acknowledging their blind spots (which are fine to have), their frustrations don’t stand on any weight of fandom, experience, or knowledge. Instead, it turns into an old head complaining about young whippersnappers, and them responding just as stubbornly. In reality, they should cast aside these criticisms more passively, because the truth is that they are beneath them. Know what you are. Until you do, reactionary anger against you will inspire that same vitriol within you.

Adin Ross’ 21 Savage & Playboi Carti Streams: Biting Off More Than One Can Chew

A post shared by DJ Akademiks (@akademiks)

By launching that rage back, folks like Kai Cenat miss the opportunity to invite them to see their work for what it is, and not as a threat, replacement, or alternative to more traditional media coverage and journalism. Both can have a respected and popular space for their audiences, and streamers are doing great with hosting sessions with rappers. Kai’s had Offset, Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty, and more, whereas Adin Ross chopped it up with Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Tory Lanez, and most recently, two separate streams with 21 Savage and Playboi Carti. Both stirred controversy for different reasons. 21 almost scammed Ross out of hundreds of thousands, whether unintentionally or not. On the other hand, Carti got a million from him and left their post-Grammys stream after about ten minutes when the 23-year-old didn’t pay up more.

While 21 Savage apparently paid him back and Playboi Carti might return, this made Adin Ross the subject of much mockery and pity for hip-hop. For example, DJ Akademiks believes that 21’s team took the opportunity to “finesse a white boy” because they don’t have respect for him beyond an opportunity for profit, content, and promo. Some defended Ross in both cases; others thought he was a fool for thinking otherwise. But it shows how these industries exploit each other to some degree. The Florida native doesn’t deserve scamming, but many think that if his streams were more formal or music-oriented, he wouldn’t run into these social media-heavy antics. Sure, Ross does talk about serious topics with rappers and provide enlightening conversations, but it’s only on occasion. Right now, he’s seeing that all that success doesn’t earn you an ounce of respect or authority in hip-hop.

Respect & Rejection Between Rap & The Streaming Community

That begs two questions: how much do streamers really respect hip-hop? And how much does hip-hop really respect streamers? The first question sits in the middle. For every Joe Budden, there’s someone like Drake to shout them out and engage with them excitedly. While Playboi Carti shunned Adin Ross, Offset really appreciated the great time that Kai Cenat showed him. Given how young much of rap is today, most rappers unquestionably respect, admire or are at least cognizant of streaming’s importance in the media ecosystem today. But they identify them as platforms and personalities, not as folks to help them develop their craft, take their careers to the next level, or help them translate their artistic identity. As such, they follow engagement… but it might not be a sustainable collaborative model.

As for streamers respecting hip-hop, there’s no doubt that streamers who’ve found a fanbase in the culture are fans of its current form. There’s also no tangible obligation for them to particularly like or know of its past because their content reaches a much younger fanbase that doesn’t bump Roc Marciano like that. Yet Chief Keef can let Adin Ross say the n-word during a live show. That is the key problem: when they erase history rather than add to it. Traditional rap media isn’t going anywhere, despite their close-minded takes on up-and-comers. But streaming can fall into using rap for clout. It’s probably fewer negative instances than positives, but arrogantly invalidating legitimate criticism damages that crucial element of hip-hop without providing similar frameworks. For them, it’s all about who’s more successful, not about how they can responsibly use their platforms as the biggest media voices right now.

Where Does Hip-Hop Media Go From Here?

A post shared by Elliott Wilson (@elliottwilson)

In terms of that responsibility, streamers have a larger voice than ever. Back in June of 2023, after he moved to Kick and made openly transphobic comments, Adin Ross spoke to Travis Scott’s manager about why other artists didn’t want to work with him. The manager explained that he was a brand risk because of these comments, plus for endorsing figures like Andrew Tate and inviting Nazi sympathizers to his stream. Rappers didn’t want to associate with him. Now they do, which reflects that they saw his numbers go up and wanted a piece of the pie. So streamers have cleaned up their act somewhat, but the price is a transactional exchange for some, whereas others like Kai Cenat are more villainized by the media than by artists.

Both sides are wrong in their combative attempts to downplay and replace each other, despite ample room for both. There’s no clear authority to encompass hip-hop’s present-day nuances. But folks like Elliott Wilson retracting their dismissals of Kai Cenat and Charlamagne Tha God praising him are the right calls, although most haven’t followed. Rappers see streamers as peers; look at Ice Spice linking up with Cenat, a similarly young star from the Bronx. Maybe less trust in casual content with rappers would make the old guard recognize streamers as storytellers, not content chasers. If Kai, Adin, and others want respect in hip-hop, they have to respect its history. If the old guard wants to stick around, they have to support the new generation instead of dismissing their youth. Until then, petty back-and-forths about money, bars, or ignorance will kill hip-hop more than any attempt to preserve tradition or embrace change.

Playboi Carti & Adin Ross Chop It Up On FaceTime After Streaming Fiasco And Fans Are Having None Of It

Playboi Carti is a mysterious individual and for some fans, this is extremely annoying and quite frankly, a bit taxing. Overall, Carti rarely gives updates on his music. Instead, he promises an album is coming and then it never comes. Moreover, he has released five singles recently, but none of them are on streaming. Furthermore, he has no album release date in sight, and fans are getting antsy. To make matters worse, he made a mocker of Adin Ross on Sunday night after the Grammys.

For those unaware, Carti was on Ross’ stream for all of 10 minutes. Ross paid Carti $1 million to show up and was going to pay him another $1 million afterward. However, Carti did not uphold his end of the bargain and got mad at Ross for not handing over more cash. In the aftermath of this, people were accusing Carti of taking advantage of Ross and his fans. It was not a good look, but now, it seems like a resolution is on the way. As Ross displays in the image below, he was on FaceTime with Carti yesterday.

Playboi Carti x Adin Ross Pt. 2

Ross claims a second stream between the two is going to go down this week. However, it remains to be seen if that will actually happen. Fans in the comments section on Akademiks’ post are not convinced of this, at all. “y’all got over or under 20 words said by carti?” one person wrote. “He coming back for that other million,” someone else added. Needless to say, Carti has exhausted some of his goodwill here. However, if he ends up giving a concrete update on his album, that may very well change.

Let us know if you are excited for the new Carti project, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will always keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming releases. A lot of great work is left to come in 2024.

Kai Cenat Mocks Playboi Carti After Disastrous Adin Ross Stream

Kai Cenat is one of the biggest streamers in the entire world. The same can be said of Adin Ross, who is on a competing platform to Twitch, called Kick. Overall, Adin has been having a rough go of things over the past few days. Firstly, it kicked off, no pun intended, with 21 Savage allegedly trying to scam him out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Eventually, the situation with 21 was resolved. However, what took place on Sunday night with Playboi Carti was a real-life catastrophe.

For those who may not know, Carti was paid $1 million to appear on Ross’ stream. Originally, the two had agreed on $2 million, with the second million to be paid out after the appearance. The big issue here is that Carti arrived on stream with a mask on, and refused to really do or say anything. Instead, he played into his mysterious persona and then left after about 10 minutes. It came across as extremely disrespectful to Ross and his time. Subsequently, Ross refused to pay Carti the second $1 million that he promised.

Kai Cenat Had Some Fun

In the clip below, you can find Kai Cenat’s immediate reaction to the controversy. As you can imagine, he thought the whole thing was pretty hilarious. Sure, he felt bad for Adin, but he felt embarrassed in a way for Carti. Cenat went so far as to mock Carti’s mannerisms and how he conducted himself during the brief interaction. It was a pretty funny clip, and Cenat’s chat found it to be quite hilarious. For Ross, however, it was yet another example of rappers playing cruel tricks on his stream.

Hopefully, Ross is able to figure out how to maneuver these situations, in the future. As for Carti, all could be forgiven if he just released his album in a timely fashion. Let us know what you thought of his antics on last night’s stream, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always seek to keep you informed.

21 Savage Wants Money From Adin Ross After Streamer Gave Playboi Carti $1 Million For Six-Minute Appearance

21 Savage and Adin Ross got into it just a tiny bit last week. Overall, this was due to the fact that it looked like 21 had completely scammed the streamer, or at least tried to. As we reported, 21 was playing with marked cards, and Adin discovered it. Savage subsequently denied any wrongdoing and said it was someone from his team. Although Ross was upset about the situation, the two seemed to be on good terms. However, last night, Ross got finessed for real this time, by the likes of Playboi Carti.

Ross promised Carti $2 million to come on stream. The streamer paid $1 million up front as was going to give a second million. In the end, Ross decided against this as Carti came on the stream for all of six minutes. The artist barely said a word and then left. Ross took this as disrespect and ultimately decided to keep his money. However, 21 saw the reports about the $2 million payday and immediately called Ross to ask about it. As you can see, the rapper was a bit jealous that he didn’t get paid.

21 Savage Calls Adin

Ross tried to explain it, noting that he and 21 will have plenty of opportunities to make some cash together. However, as you can clearly tell, 21 would have loved to have been paid for his time on the stream. There have been times in which Ross has fronted an artist $50K for an appearance. However, for Carti, he thought the millions would prove to be a great investment. In the end, he was sorely mistaken for that one. Hopefully, Ross has learned his lesson and will not do that ever again.

Be sure to let us know what you think of this situation, in the comments section below. Should Adin stop having artists on his streams? Or will he learn his lesson? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists.

Playboi Carti Finesses Adin Ross For $2 Million After Appearing On Stream For A Measley 10 Minutes, Ross Calls Him “Corny & Cringe”

Playboi Carti is an artist who has become increasingly mysterious over the course of his career. Ever since the rollout for Whole Lotta Red, Carti has become an elusive character. Now, he is readying a new album called I Am Music, and fans are very excited. However, there is no release date in sight. Overall, he has dropped five singles and no one knows if any of these will make the album. Well, we were supposed to get some answers from Carti last night as he showed up for Adin Ross’ impromptu stream in L.A.

Carti was in Los Angeles to perform with Travis Scott at the Grammys. As a result, Ross had to jet all the way across the country from Miami to California. Moreover, it was revealed that Adin paid Carti $2 million to appear on the stream. However, it turned out be another disaster for the streaming giant. Carti was extremely late and almost didn’t appear on camera. Eventually, he came out and was masked up. Additionally, he only stayed for 10 to 15 minutes and barely said anything. All we got was that this is apparently his best album and that it is “insane.”

Playboi Carti Arrives Then Dips

As soon as Carti left the stream, Ross looked despondent. After almost getting finessed by 21 Savage a few days ago, things were looking down for the streamer, yet again. However, this time around, Ross stood his ground and had some choice words for Carti. He said that the rapper’s persona was “corny” and “cringe.” Furthermore, he said that Carti would have restricted access to a jet he promised him, which is kind of funny when you think about it. Regardless, this is a massive loss for Ross, who paid 7 figures for 15 minutes.

Adin Ross Left Upset

Carti remains elusive, and no one is going to change that. Whether or not a new album ever gets released, still remains to be seen. Let us know what you think of this situation, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.

Kai Cenat & 21 Savage Stream: Celina Powell Posts BTS Video As Men Entertain Viewers

Since Kai Cenat’s streaming career began, he’s been creating content with several of our favourite rappers. Last year, he and Offset broke the internet with their hilarious sleepover antics. Now, the young creator brought 21 Savage on his internet show following the release of american dream, and neither party left us disappointed. As always, Cenat’s energy was high as he and the “a lot” hitmaker entertained viewers while playing games and telling stories.

At one point, Travis Scott called in to place a hefty bet on Savage beating his co-host. When the Atlanta-based recording artist did come out on top, Cenat destroyed his streaming setup out of sheer frustration from losing Madden and $300K. Of course, not everything happening at the streamer’s house was on camera. We now know that Celina Powell was hanging out behind the scenes with Kai and Savage.

A post shared by HOLLYWOOD UNLOCKED (@hollywoodunlocked)

Earlier this week, the controversial influencer posted a clip on her Instagram Story, recording the two men in front of their computer set-up. She didn’t write anything on the brief clip, which is now making rounds on Hollywood Unlocked, besides two small white heart emojis. It’s unclear whether she was hanging out with Cenat or Savage, but because of the latter’s rumoured lowkey relationship with Latto, some are speculating she could be the former’s date.

Celina Powell might manage to entice many of the men of hip-hop into taking a spin with her, but most of them seem to regret it in the long run. Most recently, it was embattled artist Trey Songz who was feeling the heat after Powell accused him of attempting to kidnap her. Read more about that at the link below, and let us know if you think the internet star was there with 21 Savage, Kai Cenat, or both in the comments.

LeBron James Wants To Start Streaming

LeBron has suggested that he wants to start livestreaming his Madden games when he plays against other people. “Thinking of live streaming my @EAMaddenNFL games when I play. 🤔. Who should I stream with? Meaning which platform brand 👑,” LeBron tweeted. Of course, the Lakers star was bombarded with suggestions ranging from Twitch to Rumble to Kick to OnlyFans. Overall, people were very excited to see it happen.

LeBron would become just the latest athlete to start streaming. Packers running back AJ Dillon has gone viral in recent months for late-night Twitch streams of Farming Simulator. Dillon’s activities were particularly notable because he would often be seen streaming late into the night on days before the Packers had games. Would you like to see LeBron stream Madden? Who would you like to see him play against? Let us know in the comments.

The Lakers Should Get LeBron James This Player For Christmas, Kendrick Perkins Claims

Kendrick Perkins has declared that the perfect Christmas gift for LeBron James from the Lakers would be trading for Zach LaVine. “They need that third superstar. They need someone who can play at the perimeter, someone who can score 20 consistently.” In short, Perkins wanted the Lakers to trade for someone who could help take the pressure off LeBron, who turns 39 at the end of the week. LaVine is currently out with a foot injury that sidelined him in early December. However, he is expected back in early January. Before he went down, he was averaging 21 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists a game. That would make LaVine the third-highest scorer on the Lakers and the team’s 20-point scorer after LeBron and Anthony Davis. Whether they make this move remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, LeBron James was also tweeting about his younger son, Bryce. After Bleacher Report posted highlights of Bryce in a big win for Sierra Canyon game, LeBron reposted it. “Yessir!! He just working and striving for greatness! 🤴🏾,” LeBron added as a caption.

Adin Ross Claims He Made Chrisean Rock’s Career

Adin Ross is easily one of the biggest streamers in the world right now. Although he is no longer on Twitch, he is still putting in work over at Kick. He makes quite a bit of money and overall, the fans are still pouring into his streams. At this point, he is an unstoppable force in the streaming world. Even if you hate everything he stands for, you cannot deny that he has accomplished a lot. He has helped put a lot of people on, and for many, he is one of the most influential creators in his field.

Recently, Ross had a conversation with his Twitch chat about the people he has helped put on over the years. At the end of the day, there are some people out there whose success is directly tied to Ross giving them a shoutout. One of those people is actually quite surprising, and that person may not agree with the sentiment. That said, ross believes he is responsible for the come up of Chrisean Rock. As he explains, the personality was on his stream in 2021, before anyone really knew who she was.

Adin Ross Takes Credit

At this stage, it is hard to believe Rock getting her come up off of an Adin Ross stream. However, his timeline seems to make sense. While she is known for her relationship with Blueface, she has certainly branched out. That said, it is interesting how a streamer can have so much influence. When you look at the Kai Cenats of the world, it is wild to think where streaming has gone since its inception. As for the topic at hand, well, we doubt Chrisean Rock will be eager to give Ross any credit whatsoever.
