LisaRaye McCoy Found Out About Sister Da Brat’s Pregnancy Online

It came as a surprise when Da Brat and her wife Jesseca Dupart announced they were expecting. What was even more of a shock to fans is that Brat is carrying their child, a feat that she once said would never happen. “I was like, nothing’s gonna come out of me!” the Rap icon told PEOPLE. However, with a little coaxing from Dupart, the couple will soon welcome their bundle of joy. It’s a time for family and well wishes, but according to Brat’s sister LisaRaye McCoy, she didn’t find out about the good news until she saw it on social media.

McCoy visited It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper, where she was asked about her feelings regarding becoming an auntie. “Wonderful,” the actress replied. Harper tried to pull more out of McCoy and questioned if she knew the gender. “No,” she answered. “Um, I found out [about the pregnancy] through social media.”

After an uncomfortable moment, McCoy said, “This takes me back.” She added, “Because I’m sure that you have heard of the last kind of encounter that we had that went viral.” McCoy refers to the tense moment on her show, Cocktails with Queens, when Da Brat appeared to surprise her for her birthday. McCoy wasn’t happy because the sisters hadn’t spoken in so long. “I ended up having to, I guess what they said, cussed everybody out on the show.”

McCoy explained that time was awkward because she was being pelted with questions about Da Brat coming out as gay. “Because she came out, and I’m getting interviewed, and people are all like, ‘Oh, how do you feel about your sister coming out?’ And I’m like, ‘Coming out of what?’ ‘Cause I’m thinking I had to say some politically correct type of answer because I don’t know what they talkin’ about.”

“There was a whole life going on on social media that I just really didn’t know nothing about,” McCoy further stated. Meanwhile, Brat hasn’t answered her sister’s most recent interview. It’s clear that there are some things the ladies need to hash out, but they’ve always found a meeting ground. Actress LisaRaye McCoy Reveals Her Mother Has Passed Away

Actress LisaRaye just shared that her mother Katie McCoy has passed.Just last week, the Single Ladies actress was on The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne and DJ Envy and revealed her mother wasn’t doing well healthwise. She shared it was difficult to watch her once strong fierce mom become a shell of herself. She said that despite the troubles they worked through on Dr. Iyanla Vanzant’s show they had overcome their problems and were focused on healing.

On Sunday, she shared on social media that her mother’s battle has come to an end.

I’m numb. I lost my mother last night. It was expected but never could I prepare. Being strong is what you taught me but I can’t say it applies today. [WATCH] LisaRaye McCoy Describes Past Incident With Stacey Dash

LisaRaye McCoy hit up the Breakfast Club to discuss past rumors addressing previous comments she made about her former ‘Single Ladies’ co-star Stacey Dash.

LisaRaye McCoy and Stacey Dash starred alongside each other in the Queen Latifah-produced show ‘Single Ladies,’ which aired on VH1 for three seasons and had a final fourth season on BET.

After the first season, Stacey Dash’s character, Val did not return for season 2. Although Stacey Dash said that family issues caused her exit from the show, LisaRaye previously revealed that an explosive verbal fight happened on set, which could be the real reason behind her leaving.

During her recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, LisaRaye was asked to recall a previous issue she had with Stacey Dash. According to LisaRaye, she did not try to fight the “Clueless” actress during their time working together.

LisaRaye shared, “No, I wasn’t really trying to fight her. I just wanted her to finish saying what she was trying to say. Because I really wanted to understand where that came from because it was [confusing]. It was 2–3 o’clock in the morning we all were tired, I’m like, I’m saying my line, you the one. So how can I help you.”

Breakfast Club co-host DJ Envy then interjected and called LisaRaye‘s comment untrue. He also jokingly suggested that she was going to fight Stacey Dash.

“That’s cap…You were going to beat her a**.”

LisaRaye then admitted that had the argument escalated, it may have gotten physical.

“Yes, there was a disagreement over a scene. And it really wasn’t with me.  It was with the director. I think it was about 2 or 3 a.m., and we’d been shooting all damn day. Stacey tried to argue with the director about a line. And I’m like: ‘Girl, if you don’t say what the director wants you to say.’ It wasn’t that serious at first, but it went there.”

“It’s like 2:00 in the morning and we’re still at it. And she gets an attitude and she doesn’t say her line to me.  So even the director was like, ‘Stacey, look at [LisaRaye’s character, Keisha] when you deliver that line and then leave.’ So, by the fourth or fifth take I’m thinking, ‘This is just a one-liner, like, girl, what’s the problem?’ And that’s what I say.”

“And she looks and rolls her eyes, but you know I don’t think nothing … but honey child, when I tell you when the director had to come out and speak to her, I had walked over to Stacey and said, ‘Just say the line,’ she put her finger in my face and said, ‘You can’t tell me anything.’”

LisaRaye then said people “could hear a pin drop on set” before adding that she “went Southside Chicago” on Stacey Dash.

“I just said, ‘Stacy, if you don’t take your motherf–king finger out my face…’ but that’s all I had to say because by that time she was taking her heels off and strutting to her dressing room,”

“and I was like hold on, ‘You got more to say? Because I can meet you in your dressing room! You want it, you can have it.’”

LisaRaye was then asked if she got Stacey Dash fired, to which she immediately replied,

“No.”

LisaRaye McCoy Doubles Down That Kylie Jenner Copied Her Style

We witnessed several stars turn heads at Paris Fashion Week, but few had the effect of Kylie Jenner. The reality mogul appeared at the Schiaparelli show wearing the designer’s original gown adorned with a faux fur lion’s head on one shoulder. The look even received approval from PETA, but LisaRaye McCoy took to Instagram to point out that she wore the style first—sort of. The actress did wear a white gown with a small tiger’s head on one shoulder for Da Brat’s birthday party. She penned a caption saying Jenner copied her style.

More recently, while on Cocktails with Queens, McCoy doubled down on her sentiment. She faced backlash from people who pointed out that Jenner wasn’t responsible for designing the gown. It didn’t sway McCoy at all as she defended her position.

“I meant it, but I meant it absolutely in a good way, ’cause I think, you know, when you’re creative, and you see something else that reminds you of what you’ve done—of course, her head was bigger than my tiger head. And of course, it was in a different color, but same idea. For the designer or her deciding to wear it, but it waslike, bravo! Great minds think alike.”

“We did it first. I’m not the first-first,” McCoy recognized as she brought up Coming to America. The actress questioned if the designer was also inspired by the classic Eddie Murphy comedy. Still, people in the comment section rebelled against McCoy’s latest declaration.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, or so they say, and LisaRaye McCoy is claiming Kylie Jenner copied her look. Jenner recently made a show-stopping appearance at the Schiaparelli runway show for Paris Fashion Week. The mogul wore Schiaparelli gown complete with a faux fur lion’s head—a look that was also featured in the show.

Jenner captured the attention of the world as her appearances often do. McCoy also acknowledged the display while also paying homage to a similar style she previously showcased at an event.

On Instagram, McCoy shared video that showed her one-shoulder animal design

“It’s nice to see others @kyliejenner copy and try to duplicate it in there way but we did it 1st baby. Thank yall again. Since we’re trending maybe we all need to get together and come up with something for someone to be inspired by……again! ✨”

McCoy faced pushback, as social media users pointed out that Jenner wasn’t responsible for creating the dress.

Although Jenner’s attire was criticized, PETA came forward to express their support of the reality star’s faux fur gown. They have often called out the Kardashian-Jenners for wearing real fur, but this time, they had nothing but praise.

“These fabulously innovative three-dimensional animal heads show that where there’s a will, there’s a way,” the company wrote. “We encourage everyone to stick with 100% cruelty-free designs that showcase human ingenuity and prevent animal suffering.”

Today, June 16, we will get to see the cast of Martin reunite for the first time in over two decades. Before the reunion, Tisha Campbell said that she and Martin had worked hard to reconnect. After the final season of Martin, in which Lawrence and Tisha had not performed any scenes together for the duration of the season, Tisha would go on to file a lawsuit against Lawrence, citing sexual battery and harassment.

Much like Tisha Campbell, Players Club actress LisaRaye McCoy added that she would like to move on from Duane Martin, Tisha Campbell’s ex-husband, for helping her husband cheat.

McCoy spoke on this while on Cocktails with Queens. “The chemistry’s gon’ be right, so they’re gon’ give us a little bit of what we’ve always been looking at in the old story, you know, the old episodes in the beginning. So, I’m glad, and I think this is a teachable moment of again, maturity. That you grow away from that. The fact that she could do that, I think, is huge, because we all heard about it.”

While nobody knew what she was referencing, McCoy started by talking about her ex-husband, Chief Minister of Turks & Caicos, Michael Misick, before saying, “I just pray maybe I can feel that way about her ex-husband.”

McCoy met Misick in 2005 and married in 2006. However, things quickly fell apart two years later when Misick was caught being unfaithful to Lisa Raye, and Duane Martin had something to do with it. In a 2019 episode of Uncensored, LisaRaye explained that Duane Martin would “[become] disrespectful with introducing my husband to different women and women that we knew as friends and associates.” The two would later get a divorce in 2008.
