The other week, he also made a post looking for an all-women band which has been deleted since: “Yachty is putting a band together,” the post read, noting he was looking for two to three background singers, a guitar player, a bass player, a drummer, and a keyboard player. It’s unknown whether it could be for the album, a tour, or something else.

At long last, Lil Yachty has finally shared the release date for his long-anticipated fifth studio album. Today, the “Poland” rapper revealed that his new album, called Let’s Start Here will release later this month.
Yachty announced the news today via posts on his social media accounts.
“Thank You for the patience,” he said in an Instagram caption with the album’s artwork. The seemingly AI-generated artwork features several people in a Congress-like setting, with their faces distorted.
He shared a similar post on Twitter, but shortly after, shared a follow-up post, saying, “I have so many things to say.”
Last month, a project of Yachty’s called Sonic Ranch leaked to the internet in full. He didn’t directly address the leak, however, he had taken to Twitter shortly after to express his sadness by way of a frowning emoji.
Earlier this month, he announced via since-deleted Instagram and Twitter posts that he was holding tryouts for an all-women band, though it was unclear whether this was for an upcoming album, or for a tour.
This time last year, Yachty spoke to Icebox and revealed he wants to take a new approach to his creative process.
“I’ve changed my dynamic,” he said. “I’m telling you, this album and on, I’m creating music a whole lot differently.”

New music from Lil Yachty has been a long time coming. Thankfully, the 25-year-old announced on Tuesday (January 17) that he has plenty on the way before the month comes to an end.
Earlier this afternoon, the “Poland” artist dropped off the cover art and official release date for his highly anticipated Let’s Start Here project. The effort’s artwork sees a series of distorted faces – men and women – manically laughing while wearing suits.
In his caption, Yachty announced an arrival date of January 27th. “Chapter 2. Thank you for the patience,” he later added.
Let’s Start Here marks the Georgia native’s first release since August 2021’s BIRTHDAY MIX 6. For that EP, he teamed up with friends like Lil Tecca (“Virgo World”) and DC2Trill (“Three Six Talk” and “Lord of the Beans”). It remains unclear if the rapper presently has any plans to collaborate on his upcoming album.
As Genius notes, Yachty first teased his work in May of last year. At the time, he wrote on social media, “I try not to tweet ‘cuz I know y’all want [the] album… I’ll come back with that, best one yet. Promise.”
By early October, his “Poland” single was making serious waves about what’s next for the SoundCloud star. At that time, he promised his project in the new year. However, he was granted an unfortunate Christmas gift when the entirety of his work leaked under the name SONIC RANCH on December 25th.
A few days later, Yachty clarified that the title was inaccurate. Still, he planned to move forward with dropping his album in the new year. The official cover, title, and release date still wound up leaking a few days early thanks to a vinyl release website.
In other news, earlier this month the “Yacht Club” artist was on the hunt for an all-female band. Read more about his latest musical endeavours here, and check back later for more hip-hop news updates.
It may be a while before we hear Lil Yachty’s psychedelic Sonic Ranch album, due to the project falling victim to leaks last month, but that’s not keeping him from pursuing other ideas. Yesterday (January 10), the “Poland” rapper announced that he’s looking to form an all-women band.
“Yachty is putting a band together. I want an all-girls band,” he said in an Instagram post, noting he’s looking for two to three background singers, a guitar player, a bass player, a drummer, and a keyboard player. The post was captioned, “Tryouts for my band Thursday. Shall the most talented women please pull up… Let’s Meet! See U Soon Ladies.” It is also worth noting that this is currently the only post on his Instagram page, as his account appears to be cleared — a common practice for artists as they begin to tease new album eras.
It is unclear whether Yachty is wanting to put together the band as part of a new album, for a backing band for an upcoming tour, or for another purpose. However, in an interview with Icebox that took place over a year ago, he revealed that he wants his future projects to spawn from a different creative process.
“I’ve met all these amazing musicians and producers,” he said when speaking about his upcoming album. “It’s like a psychedelic alternative project. It’s different. It’s all live instrumentation. I’ve changed my dynamic. I’m telling you, this album and on, I’m creating music a whole lot differently.”
Lil Yachty is one of the game’s most diverse young artists in the game. It appears as though his newest musical venture will be in association with a new band.
More specifically, the 25-year-old is looking to assemble a band of strictly women musicians.
On Tuesday (January 10), the “One Night” artist took to his social media accounts to share the news. “Yachty is putting a band together. I want an all-girls band,” he says in the post. The Georgia native says he’s looking for two-three background singers, a guitar player, a bass player, a drummer, as well as a keyboard player.
“Tryouts for my band Thursday. Shall the most talented women please pull up… Let’s Meet! See U Soon Ladies!” reads the caption.
In other recent news surrounding the “Yacht Club” rapper, he was unfortunately the victim of a significant leak. He was gearing up to release his new album, Sonic Ranch, sometime this year. After teasing its alternative and psychedelic sound for quite some time, it leaked online in its entirety in late December.
Additionally, he’s continuing to ride the success of his viral hit song, “Poland.” Of course, his latest full-length offering came in the form of 2021’s Michigan Boy Boat. The tape finds him putting on for the state’s booming hip-hop scene. It boasts features from rappers who come from all across Michigan, most notably Detroit and Flint. The project serves as a great look for some of the state’s hottest up-and-comers such as Veeze, Baby Smoove and Rmc Mike.
It will certainly be interesting to see what Yachty’s plans are with the new band. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we get to hear it.

Lil Yachty might be one of the biggest rappers in the world right now, especially with his viral hit, “Poland.” However, despite his resume in the rap game, boasting years of bangers, he admitted he doesn’t really live the sex, drugs, and rock and roll lifestyle: In a recent interview on the Sofia With An F podcast, Yachty admitted that he’s not sexually active.
“I don’t have sex, and I think women probably think I’m gay,” he said. “I don’t care that much. I think a lot of times women think if they flying out to you like that we have to have sex. Or like that’s on my mind.”
Yachty broke through in the mid-2010s with hits like “Minnesota,” “One Night,” and “Broccoli,” which is likely when most of his partying days took place. Though still a heavy-hitter, Yachty seems to have slowed down on the debauchery in recent years.
“I just had so much sex that it’s, like, diluted to me,” Yachty said. “Yea, like, it’s just… it’s not what it used to be. Like, I get off more on just really laughing. Like, ’cause laughing is so good to laugh and it’s a real laugh and it’s like yea, we’re laughing together.”
While he’s not driven by sex, one thing that hasn’t changed is Yachty’s love for pizza: Back in September, he launched a line of frozen pizzas at Walmart called Yachty’s Pizzeria.
Rapper Lil Yachty explained in a new interview why he’s no longer sleeping around with several women. He also shares that his newfound celibacy may cause women to think he’s gay.
“I don’t have sex, and I think women probably think I’m gay,” he said during a recent interview. “I don’t care that much,” he said. “I think a lot of times women think if they flying out to you like that we have to have sex. Or like that’s on my mind.”
“Sometimes I just like to see what someone is like,” he continued. “Or even if I can be around them ’cause I usually can’t.”
Yachty says he had so much sex before his spiritual awakening that he is over it.
“I just had so much sex that it’s like diluted to me,” he said. “Yea, like, it’s just… it’s not what it used to be. Like, I get off more on just really laughing. Like, ’cause laughing is so good to laugh and it’s a real laugh and it’s like yea, we’re laughing together.”
