Lil Pump Reveals Conversation With J. Cole: “You’re Actually Smart”

One of new-age hip-hop’s most interesting spats continues to develop itself into a respectful relationship in the public eye. Moreover, Lil Pump recently sat down with Complex for an interview, during which he detailed an interesting conversation with J. Cole. Between the Miami MC teasing a song whose chorus was “F**k J. Cole” and the Dreamville boss seemingly talking down on him on his album KOD, these two have some history together. However, that history is equally marked by their reconciliations. They spoke in a lengthy YouTube video together, bridging their artistic styles, and now Pump is back to talk about their link-ups.

“I don’t have no hate against him, I respect him, I was just trolling at the time,” Lil Pump remarked about his tussles with J. Cole on wax and public statements. “I met him, we had a long talk at Rolling Loud. We were talking for like a whole hour, just chopping it up. And he was like, ‘Damn, you’re actually smart! I thought you were gonna be fried out walking over here, falling, drugged out.’ And I was just having a regular conversation with him, just like we are now, and he was like, ‘Yo, you’re a smart kid. You just play dumb on the internet, but you know what you’re doing.’”

While many might see it as slightly condescending, it’s heartening to see Lil Pump take it in stride. The 22-year-old was presumably the subject of Cole’s “1985 (Intro to ‘The Fall Off’)” on his aforementioned 2018 album. “One day, them kids that’s listening gon’ grow up,” he rapped on the track. “And get too old for that s**t that made you blow up. Now your show’s lookin’ light cause they don’t show up, which unfortunately means the money slow up. Just remember what I told you when your s**t flop. In five years you gon’ be on ‘Love & Hip-Hop,’ n***a.”

To his credit, the “D Rose” rapper hasn’t appeared on any reality shows yet. In fact, he just dropped his tape Lil Pump 2 earlier this year, which contains much of his usual musical fare plus a few experimentations. Whether it’s for his trolling or for his divisive music, he’s still in the conversation for many fans. Also, this just goes to show that people can say what they want online, but respect from a fellow student of the game can go a long way. Regardless, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Pump and J. Cole.

Lil Pump Admitted He Made His First Song With A Pair Of iPhone Headphones

Lil Pump may not be as hot of a commodity as he used to be, but that isn’t stopping him from counting his blessings. He’s come a long way since being one of the internet’s most hated personalities — and he’s certainly had a few miscues along the way — but in a new interview with Complex, he reflected on his earliest works and gave some encouragement to other aspiring artists.

“My first song was recorded on headphones — no label, no anything,” he recalled. According to the interview, fellow Florida SoundCloud rap standout Smokepurpp was the one who encouraged him to begin recording, which he did on a MacBook with the included Apple headphones. “I was in a sh*tty ass room in a garage, with a laptop and headphones, making music. I’m telling you, you don’t need no f*cking $30,000 mic, a f*cking $10,000 computer to be recording good music. I’ve made my best songs on $300 mics. It doesn’t matter what type of equipment you use, if it’s in you, it’s in you. I made ‘I Love It’ on a $200 mic.”

It’s certainly a worthwhile message, and it’s pretty interesting to see him making these points, considering the successes he has had. Regarding some of his other missteps, though, he was a little more circumspect, saying, “I’ve done a lot of dumb sh*t. When I was 17, I was just wildling out, doing dumb sh*t, crashing cars, doing this and that, a whole bunch of drugs. Now I’m just more grown. I think about sh*t before I do it. You might see me on the internet as an ignorant f*ck, but I’m just a chill guy who likes to have fun and enjoy life.”

Lil Pump Celebrates His Glow Up While Sharing Throwback Photos

Lil Pump is one of the most unique figures in modern hip hop. The Miami native first hit it big in 2017 when he released the song “Gucci Gang.” Subsequently, many detractors came out of the woodwork to slam the song and the artist. Derided as the face of “mumble rap,” Pump has faced a fair bit of criticism over the years. However, the “Splurgin” rapper has also amassed a vocal and loyal fan base. Pump recently shared four photos of himself at various stages of his life to document his glow up over the years.

Pump posted the pictures to his Instagram. Firstly, the photo set shows Pump as a young child. The second image shows Pump as a clean cut teenager with braces. However. the last two pictures show a major transition in Pump’s look. Now sporting locs, one photo shows Pump just after he hit it big in the industry. Finally, the now ripped hitmaker showed off his abs and tattoos in a present day photo. Pump has certainly improved in terms of fitness. Moreover, the Miami native is clearly happy with the change he’s made over the years. He captioned the post with “The Glo up is real.”

Lil Pump Shares Rare Glimpse Into His Younger Years

Whereas many artists have well known backstories, little is known about Pump’s early life. However, he did state that his parents came to the United States from Colombia during an interview with J Cole. The mystery around Pump’s early years seems to be part of his charm. Pump has stated that he attended the prestigious Harvard University. Pump’s fans often cite this claim as a fact. However, internet detectives have been unable to verify if he actually attended the school.

Regardless of his backstory, Pump has certainly made an impact on the game. Furthermore, the 22-year-old is still putting out music. Just last month, Pump released his new album Lil Pump 2. The 16-track project features the kind of high energy trap music you would expect from Pump. Additionally, the album features collaborations with industry heavyweights like NBA YoungBoy and Ty Dolla $ign. We will see if Pump’s style changes again as he progresses in his life and career.

Luka Doncic Blesses Lil Pump With His Jersey: Watch

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have truly been struggling as of late. Overall, the team has faltered ever since the acquisition of Kyrie Irving. Moreover, the team has fallen out of the playoff picture. Shockingly, they aren’t even in the play-in right now. This is a truly unfathomable situation, and it is clear that the Mavericks need to wake up immediately. If they don’t win out, it is very likely that they will have to forego the postseason after making it to the Western Conference Finals last year.

That said, Luka Doncic is still a premier player in the NBA. He is one of those box office players that fans want to see on a nightly basis. Consequently, there are always famous people at his games. This is something we saw over the weekend, as Lil Pump sat courtside for a match. While Lil Pump isn’t as famous as he used to be, he is most definitely a noticeable character. In fact, even Luka couldn’t help but notice him the other day.

Luka Doncic x Lil Pump

While taking to Instagram, Lil Pump showed off a bit of his most recent NBA experience. As you can see, he got to chop it up with Luka while he was still on the court. Subsequently, after the game, the two got to meet up in the hallway. That is where Luka took off his game-worn jersey and slid it over to the artist. Overall, it was a pretty wholesome moment that certainly made both men happy. Unfortunately, this Lil Pump friendship cannot mask the pain of having a season slip away out of your grasp.

For Luka Doncic, this has to be a huge wake-up call. There have been numerous discussions about his play and whether or not he can truly lead a team. Moreover, there is this sense that he always needs the ball which makes it difficult for him to mesh well with others, especially those who also need the ball a lot. Needless to say, the Mavs are a mess, and Doncic could very well ask for a trade if things don’t work out. Let us know your thoughts on the situation, in the comments down below.

Lil Pump Labels T.I. A “Snitch” & Discredits Comedy Career

Lil Pump is the latest rapper to target T.I. over allegations of snitching. The issues began a few weeks ago when Boosie said he canceled his joint effort with T.I.. Though Pump probably had no intention to check out the project, he went on a tirade targeting Tip on Instagram Live. “T.I.’s a snitch,” he said. “So, I don’t ever want to see him pull up with none of them stupid-ass paperwork and shit. T.I., we know you’re a snitch.”

The “Gucci Gang” rapper didn’t end there. Lil Pump proceeded to put T.I. on blast for trying to turn his comedy show into a paperwork party. “You even brought the papers to your stupid-ass comedy show that nobody fucking goes to,” he continued. “You’re a bum.” At this point, it seems unlikely that T.I. will entertain Lil Pump’s shenanigans, largely because he’s smart enough to know that it won’t work in his favor. However, Pump clearly didn’t appreciate how T.I. tried to handle the allegations against him.

Lil Pump Slams T.I.

The comedy show that Lil Pump refers to in the clip occurred in late February. At the time, T.I. tried to call out Boosie Badazz. He confirmed that he invited the Louisiana rapper to attend the show in order to prove, once and for all, that he never cooperated with authorities via paperwork. Boosie didn’t show up, though apparently, Charleston White did. Needless to say, T.I. and Boosie haven’t seen eye-to-eye lately and Lil Pump appears to be using their issues to his own benefit.

Lil Pump recently slid thorugh with his latest body of work on Friday. The sequel to his self-titled debut emerged with 16 songs in total, along with features from a gang of high-profile names. Ty Dolla $ign and NBA Youngbo joined Pump on the record, along with G4 Boyz, Rio Da Yung OG, and close collaborator and friend, Smokepurpp. With the recent comments, including those directed at T.I., it feels like Lil Pump is truly using old tricks to drive his numbers up. Check out Lil Pump’s comments about T.I. above and let us know your thoughts below.

“Lil Pump 2” Album: Rapper Collabs With NBA YoungBoy, Ty Dolla $ign, And More

Gucci Gang rapper Lil Pump released his long-awaited third studio album, Lil Pump 2 this weekend. The project features the high-energy trap music that the rapper is known for, along with a few surprises. Among them is “Pump Rock x Heavy Metal,” a rock song that features metal elements. There are also guest appearances from artists like YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Rio Da Yung OG, Smokepurpp, Ty Dolla Sign, and G4 Boyz. The new release speaks about the subjects you’d expect from Pump: drugs, women, money, and guns.

Musically, LP2 is similar to his previous work as most of the songs have a catchy hook, a heavy, hard-hitting baseline, and strong 808s. It’s worth noting that this project, like his past releases, has its high and low moments. “I Don’t Mind” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again is widely considered one of the best songs on the album, while the aforementioned “Pump Rock x Heavy Metal” was met with more trepidation. Thus far, the reception to Lil Pump 2 has been mixed. While some fans are enjoying the 16-track effort, others feel like it’s more hit or miss.

Lil Pump 2 is Here

Lil Pump has been working on this album since 2019, completely dedicating himself to the follow-up to his 2017 self-titled project. In 2022 the artist made a since-deleted Instagram post hinting at LP2‘s existence. At the time he teased, “’Lil Pump 2’ is a masterpiece I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.”

Additionally, the 22-year-old made reference to it in an interview with Inked Magazine last year, claiming that the album would be released in August 2022. He said, “Yessirski! It’s dropping in August around my birthday. It’s about to be crazy. This is gonna be a masterpiece.” Lil Pump 2 is a solid reminder to the public of who he is and what he’s capable of. Lil Pump Smashes Ferrari To Promote His Album

Lil Pump decided enough was enough. So, he took a hammer to a Ferrari. However, he could not go through with it. Instead, he just smashed the windshield and left things alone from there. There has not been any official word on why he did this, though. We do not know what the Ferrari did to deserve this abuse, or if it even did anything at all. We only know that Lil Pump decided to put his bottled-up rage out on the car.

Lil Pump was at a car window store when he decided to try to smash his windshield up. Meanwhile, his friends were half-heartedly trying to stop him from going through with it, while filming. Only one person with them seemed mildly concerned by what was happening when the camera started rolling. He was probably told to pop the windshield out, so he decided to smash it instead. We can hear somebody call out “Pop that whip” after all.

Lil Pump Keeps Up The Antics

This might have been a random response to some vandals that broke Lil Pump’s car windows back in 2021. He threatened to kill the perpetrators the next time they messed with him. When the four perpetrators came back, they were spooked away by the alarm. They were never caught. He might have thought that it looked fun, so he randomly decided to try it now. Maybe the vandals are back at it again and this was a vague threat to them. This was just his way of daring them to try it again, without threatening to murder them, as he did back then.

Another possible explanation is that Lil Pump found he just likes destroying things. In October 2022, he bought a Porsche specifically to destroy it for his album release party. There is a chance that this is just what he does for stress relief now, buying and breaking cars. This could be a midlife crisis, and this is just his way of calling for help. There won’t be a way of knowing until Lil Pump decides to talk to his fans and tell us what was running through his head at the time of this heinous act. Although, he could just be trying to promote Lil Pump 2 which drops on March 17th.

Lil Pump Announces “Lil Pump 2,” Tracklist Features YoungBoy, Ty Dolla $ign & More

One of the most polarizing hip-hop artists of the past decade is back and perhaps better than ever. Lil Pump just announced Lil Pump 2, the direct sequel to his breakout self-titled mixtape. While the feature list is quite scant, there are still a few notable names that caught fans’ attention upon seeing the tracklist on social media. For example, there are some usual suspects, like frequent collaborator Smokepurpp and known feature killer Ty Dolla $ign. However, some less familiar names for some, Rio Da Yung OG and C4 Boyz, will also appear on the project. What’s more is that Pump snagged a feature from YoungBoy, which should make for quite the interesting cut.

Of course, this news comes with the context of the Florida rapper’s often panned artistry. Still, there are a lot of people out there that stand by the visceral, raw, and legitimately experimental approach on Pump’s debut mixtape. Even though he fell off afterwards for many fans, the impact of songs like “Gucci Gang” and “Boss” still ring to this day. For better or worse, the 22-year-old is one of the definitive artists of the “SoundCloud era” of rap in the mid-2010s.

Lil Pump 2: Cover Art, Tracklist & Features

With all that said, the “D Rose” hitmaker is in a completely different phase of his career, at least on paper. While he’s continued to try to make it big with the same sound, his charismatic personality keep him on media cycles and headlines. For what it’s worth, he also worked quite hard to turn his life around in a few aspects and find more fulfillment than pissing old heads off. For example, he recently showed off his body transformation and confessed that hitting the gym is his new addiction.

Meanwhile, Lil Pump 2 will drop on March 17th with 16 songs, and the artist shared the cover art for it as well. Whether you’re looking forward to it or not, it should make for an interesting moment in hip-hop this year. Will lightning strike twice with an energetic and raw project or is Pump’s time in the sun truly over? Let us know your predictions and return to HNHH for the latest updates on Lil Pump.
