11 Rap Songs That Are RIAA Certified Diamond

The Recording Industry Association of America awards artists various certifications for their singles and albums sold. Overall, the highest of these certifications is Diamond, awarded for sales of 10 million units and above. Many rap songs have achieved this feat, with some artists having multiple Diamond-certified songs and albums. Here are 11 rap songs that have been certified Diamond by the RIAA.

11. Travis Scott ft. Drake – “Sicko Mode” (2018)

Travis Scott may have numerous acclaimed songs in his repertoire, but “Sicko Mode” is arguably his signature single. In 2020, the rap song was certified Diamond for over 10 million units of sales. Because of its success, “Sicko Mode” is often heralded as the highlight of his third album, Astroworld. It was also Scott’s first song to top the Billboard Hot 100.

10. Drake – “God’s Plan” (2018)

Drake is one of the most commercially successful artists in music history, and this feat extends to his certifications. As a lead artist, Drake has three Diamond-certified songs across the genres rap, afrobeats, and R&B. His 2018 single “God’s Plan” was certified 15x Platinum in 2022 and is one of the most successful singles. It also debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 and broke numerous streaming records. Additionally, the music video was praised for showing the artist’s generosity to fans and institutions in Florida. “God’s Plan” won the Grammy for Best Rap Song. His other singles to also achieve Diamond status are “One Dance” featuring Kyla and Wizkid, and “Hotline Bling.”

9. Lil Wayne ft. Static Major – “Lollipop” (2008)

“Lollipop” was released in 2008 and remains one of Lil Wayne’s most radio-friendly singles. The Diamond-certified rap song featured Static Major and was released two weeks after his death. “Lollipop” was notable for featuring heavy use of auto-tune and its several suggestive lyrics. The single hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and was one of the biggest songs of the 2000s decade. “Lollipop” won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Song in 2009. It was certified 10x platinum in 2022.

8. Eminem – “Lose Yourself” (2002)

Eminem is no stranger to achieving Diamond status. He holds the record for the rapper with the most Diamond albums in history. Adding to that, he has three Diamond-certified rap songs to his name. The most iconic of the trio however, is the Oscar winning “Lose Yourself” from the film 8 Mile. “Lose Yourself” was acclaimed upon its release, and the song’s most recent certification in 2022 is a testament to its longevity. “Lose Yourself” is also officially certified 13x Platinum. His other two songs to additionally achieve this feat, are “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie”, the latter featuring Rihanna. Unsurprisingly, both songs are featured on his impressive seventh studio album, Recovery

7. Cardi B – “Bodak Yellow” (2017)

Cardi B’s rise to fame remains one for the books. After becoming a Vine star and a growing fan base from her time on Love & Hip Hop: New York, Cardi B struck gold. Her debut album Invasion of Privacy received critical acclaim and housed two Diamond-certified rap songs. Specifically, her official major label debut was “Bodak Yellow,” which turned Cardi B into a household name straightaway. The aggressive single became a significant turning point in Cardi B’s career. As of 2022, the song has been certified 11x Platinum.

6. Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth – “See You Again” (2015)

“See You Again” by Wizk Khalifa and Charlie Puth quickly rose to the top of the charts following its release. The rap song was certified Diamond in 2019, four years after its release. “See You Again” was a part of the soundtrack for Furious 7 and was a tribute to Paul Walker. Walker was most known for his role in the Fast & Furious franchise. “See You Again” is also second to Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” for the rap songs that have spent the most weeks at the peak position on the Billboard Hot 100.

5. Post Malone – “Congratulations” (2017)

Post Malone holds the record for the artist with the most Diamond-certified songs in RIAA history. The rapper has a whopping eight singles that have achieved this feat. One of these singles, and one of his most popular, is “Congratulations,” which features Quavo. “Congratulations” was released in 2017 as a single off his debut album Stoney. All in all, Post Malone’s seven other songs to achieve this feat are: “I Fall Apart,” “Better Now,” “Circles,” “Psycho,” “White Iversion,” “Rockstar,” and “Sunflower.”

4. Fetty Wap – “Trap Queen” (2014)

In late 2014, Fetty Wap rose to prominence with his official debut single “Trap Queen.” The song earned the rapper his highest charting single on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at the penultimate spot. Fetty Wap achieved Diamond status in 2019 when it was officially certified 10x Platinum. Moreover, the sleeper hit also secured the rapper with a record deal at 300 Entertainment.

3. Nicki Minaj – “Super Bass” (2011)

Nicki Minaj’s widely popular single “Super Bass” achieved Diamond status in 2021 after being certified 10x platinum. “Super Bass,” like other singles off her debut album Pink Friday, successfully merged Hip Hop and pop rap. The music video also further reiterated Minaj’s Barbie-esque style, featuring numerous pink props. It won the award for Best Hip Hop Video at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

2. Lil Nas X – “Old Town Road” (2019)

Lil Nas X has achieved numerous record-breaking feats with his debut single, “Old Town Road.” It is also the fastest song in history to be certified Diamond. The country-rap single, which featured Billy Ray Cyrus, also combined two genres that have previously failed to achieve mainstream attention as a unit. In addition to these, “Old Town Road” is also the longest-running song atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart, rap or otherwise. The single remained at the No. 1 spot for 19 consecutive weeks. With 17 million units sold, it is the second-most certified single.

1. “Stronger” (2007)

“Stronger” by Kanye West was certified Diamond in 2021 for 10 million units sold. The single, which was notoriously mixed to perfection over 70 times, blended electronic and rap music. An iconic staple in Kanye West’s incredible discography, “Stronger” featured a sample from Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” After the song’s commercial success, Daft Punk achieved mainstream fame in the United States. Furthermore, the high-octane song is a techno club favorite and is credited for revitalizing disco-infused music in the 2000s.

Lil Nas X Is ‘Never Shopping’ At Target Again After Being ‘Offended’ By One Of Their ‘Ridiculous’ Products

Target is at the center (sorry) of a controversy over its Pride Month offerings, which it has started to recall after threats by right-wing protesters. But leave it to Lil Nas X to put things in perspective with a tongue-in-cheek tweet imitating the temper tantrum being thrown by MAGA loyalists.

“can’t believe target is supporting this nonsense,” he wrote. “im never shopping there again.”

But while the first part of his tweet satirized the faux-outrage at Target for carrying Pride-themed products ahead of Pride Month, the second part hammered home how silly those protesters really sound.

“my son is not ‘too cool for school,’” he jibed. “these shirts are ridiculous. he is going to school and he WILL learn.”

Of course, Lil Nas is the perfect spokesperson to undermine the anti-LGBTQ agenda, something he’s been doing almost since he worked his way into the limelight with “Old Town Road.” He’s been accused of faking being queer for album sales, prompting him to reverse-troll the critics commenting about him.

And he’s only doubled down since, collaborating with fellow queer rapper Saucy Santana to give those prudes something to really get mad about. He’s killing them with kindness — and some truly great jokes.

Lil Nas X Rendered Speechless On “The Eric Andre Show”

Lil Nas X has been making some headlines for his antics recently. Being low key isn’t the rapper’s strong suit. In fact, he often trolls people both online and in person. However, many were suprised when a picture was shared online of Lil Nas kissing fellow rapper PinkPantheress. While this might not usually be the talk of the town, the “Industry Baby” hitmaker came out as gay quite some time ago. The kiss with PinkPantheress came just weeks after social media personality WoahVicky accused him of faking his sexuality. Of course, Lil Nas responded to the photo in his typical manner. “she had food on her lip ! i was getting it off!” he tweeted jokingly.

In other news, Lil Nas showed big support for his fellow rapper Jack Harlow. He recently pulled up to the premiere of Harlow’s new Hulu film, a remake of White Men Can’t Jump. Many noted his shirt at the event, which was a shirt bearing the name and image of Harlow. Fans pointed out that was reminiscent of something that happened back in 2022. Last year, Lil Nas X was famously not invited to the BET Awards. However, Jack Harlow was, and he walked the carpet wearing a shirt with Lil Nas’ name and face on it. Some think that the “Call Me By Your Name” rapper was thanking Harlow with his newest red carpet fit.

Lil Nas X: “What The F*ck Is Wrong With You?”

Since his rise to fame, Lil Nas X has gained recognition as one of music’s foremost trolls. He constantly uses his sense of humor to both irk conservative critics and deflect any negative feedback directed his way. However, his ability to navigate such situations might have finally met its match on The Eric Andre Show. The program is known for its outrageous pranks and absurdist comedy, and even Lil Nas seems taken aback. A preview of the upcoming season six premiere shows the rapper as a guest on the show. He seems to find himself rendered speechless.

The host, Eric Andre, employs strange horror-themed gags, unsettling Lil Nas as he sits at the desk. At one point, a disembodied spirit seems to be trying to escape from the desk. Adding to the chaos, Andre’s new co-host Felipe Esparza emerges. He dramatically cuts through the background with an axe, yelling “Here’s Felipe!” As if that weren’t enough, Andre’s microphone now seemingly sprays sleeping gas. This makes the host start drooling, almost falling asleep mid-question, leading Lil Nas to ask a very important question. “What the f*ck is wrong with you?” he says, amused. It’s a wild and unpredictable scene, but there will surely be even crazier moments when the new season premieres.

Eric Andre Somehow Managed To Out-Troll Lil Nas X In His ‘Eric Andre Show’ Interview

Over the course of the last four years, Lil Nas X has proven to be one of music’s top trolls — in a good way — with a sense of humor that allows him to rankle chronically unhip conservatives while deflecting any criticism thrown his way. However, he might have met his match on The Eric Andre Show, where the comedian thrives on pranking guests with outlandish stunts and absurdist humor.

In a preview from the upcoming June 4th season six premiere, Andre sits down with Lil Nas X for an “interview” that leaves the young rapper speechless for what might be the first time in his career. After being introduced, Nas is menaced by Andre’s desk with a classic gag from Nightmare On Elm Street, then shocked by Andre’s new sidekick/co-host Felipe Esparza, who chops through a background, The Shining-style, with a gleefully unhinged “Here’s Felipe!” Oh and apparently Andre’s mic now sprays sleeping gas. It’s a lot.

The upcoming sixth season of The Eric Andre Show will feature guests like Blac Chyna, Cypress Hill, Diplo, Jaleel White, Jon Hamm, Lil Yachty, Meagan Good, Natasha Lyonne, Rico Nasty, and Tinashe. Diplo gets kicked in the nuts. It’ll be a good time.

Here Are All The Musical Cameos In ‘Muppets Mayhem’ Season 1

When the new Disney+ show, The Muppets Mayhem, hit the streaming service with the first season this month, fans were sure to have some celebrity cameos alongside their favorite puppets. And, as the series centers around Dr. Teeth And The Electric Mayhem‘s band working with a record label to make an album, a lot of the surprise guests are famous in the music world.

Chris Stapleton is the first to appear in the opening episode, as one of the first talking heads to share how the fictional band influenced his music. Others in this segment include Lil Nas X and Tommy Lee — who jokingly flashes his “Mayhem” tattoo as a fake nod to the band.

Later in the show’s sequence, the Muppet music crew attends a party where Steve Aoki is the DJ and Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins performs.

Another DJ, Zedd, and Sofia Carson (Disney’s Descendants) play a larger role in the series. Nora, played by Lilly Singh, wants Zedd to produce the band’s album. Carson arrives in the picture as a singer, when the group ultimately decides to give their song to her — and it becomes a massive hit.

Kesha also stops by to help the Muppets along their journey, while she’s trying to collab with them. Ziggy Marley also tries to help the Electric Mayhem find the right direction for their song, putting his own spin on something Kesha originally performed slower. Other collaborators as potential ideas in this part include Desiigner and Deadmau5.

Other mentions for musicians in the rest of the series are The Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs and Paula Abdul.

Last, but absolutely not least, “Weird Al” Yankovic appears in the show as the band is presumably having a drug hallucination. But, of course since it’s Disney+, they just ate some expired marshmallows. What a silly band!

Jack Harlow Says He Caught Acting ‘Bug’ While Filming ‘White Men Can’t Jump’

Jack Harlow Says He Caught Acting 'Bug' While Filming 'White Men Can't Jump'

Jack Harlow has already amassed a flourishing career as a rapper. Now he has his sites set on taking over the acting world. With his rendition of White Men Can’t Jump ready to be viewed by fans, Harlow is looking to sink deeper into the acting world.

Speaking during a Q&A session for the film, PEOPLE notes Harlow confirmed his journey into acting is serious.

“Through this film, I was able to gain my confidence as an actor, and to me, this shit is not a side quest,” Harlow said. “This isn’t a side mission that I’m tacking on just to keep the entertainer thing going and make some extra money.”

He added, “I really got the bug and fell in love with this, and I’m developing a deep passion for the craft of this the same way I had in music.”

First released back in 1992, White Men Can’t Jump starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as streetball hustlers, joining forces as a black and white man taking over the basketball courts in hopes of taking home a bag. Written by Ron Shelton, the comedy did outstanding numbers at the box office, standing to this day as one of the top go-to basketball movies within pop culture.

Harlow plays the role of Jeremy, a former star of the game whose injuries stalled his career. His co-star Sinqua Walls plays Kamal, who also had the potential to make it to the big leagues, but his temperament kept him stagnant. Other notable names include Teyana Taylor who plays Sinqua’s wife, Vince Staples, who plays Sinqua’s teammate and friend, and a cameo from Blake Griffin, who also executive produced the film.

Lil Nas X Wears Jack Harlow Shirt at ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Premiere in Los Angeles

The only thing better than the original White Men Can’t Jump… is the remake.

And while the modern-day remix may seem to be some big shoes to fill, Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls step in with flying colors. On Thursday, May 11th, White Men Can’t Jump celebrated its red carpet premiere and screening at El Capitan Theatre in the heart of Hollywood, California. Most of the cast was present — Jack Harlow, Sinqua Walls, Teyana Taylor, Slink Johnson — along with celebrity sightings from Lil Nas X, Ty Dolla $ign, Ab-Soul, DJ Drama, KYLE, and more.

In fact, Lil Nas X briefly walked the red carpet in a Jack Harlow tee-shirt, before running off. This mimics Harlow’s support of Lil Nas X, who previously rocked a shirt with Nas on it for last year’s BET Awards. The support was real, as this serves as Jack Harlow’s first big screen debut as an actor.

Hailing from Kentucky, he multi-Platinum selling recording artist first exploded onto the scene with his viral smash “WHAT’S POPPIN” back in 2020. The song went on to receive a standout remix from Lil Wayne, Tory Lanez, and DaBaby, later even landing Harlow his first Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance.

Teyana Taylor rocked the carpet in a chic, multi-colored ensemble from head to toe, with a matching veil to cover her face. Fashion-wise, Teyana definitely stole the show. Producer Hit-Boy also was present, walking the carpet with his son and father, who was five days out from behind bars.

The film is directed by Calmatic and written by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall, streaming exclusively on Hulu on May 19th. Running an hour and 41 minutes in length, White Men Can’t Jump is a must-see, as the jokes had the entire theater erupting with laughter.

Lil Nas X Thanks Jack Harlow With Film Premiere Fashion

Jack Harlow is a busy man right now. He just released his third studio album, Jackman. Furthermore, he just hit up his hometown of Louisville to launch his charity and attend the Kentucky Derby. Additionally, he was walking the red carpet for the premiere of his film debut, Hulu’s remake of White Men Can’t Jump.

However, jumping back to 2022 for a second, Harlow made a statement on the red carpet for the BET Awards. After Lil Nas X was not invited, Harlow rocked up to the ceremony in a Lil Nas X t-shirt. The pair have previously collaborated on “Industry Baby” and are reportedly close friends. Well, Lil Nas X was sure to thank Harlow with his red carpet fit for White Men Can’t Jump.

Lil Nas X Wears Jack Harlow T-shirt

Lil Nas X’s choice of red carpet fit was a meta-reference to the BET Awards snub. He arrived at the White Men Can’t Jump premiere in a black t-shirt that said “JACK” and had a picture of Harlow from the BET Awards. To put it another way, it was a t-shirt of Jack Harlow wearing a Lil Nas X t-shirt. It was a touching gesture between two close friends. While neither has publicly commented on it, the pair were photographed together at the event. While Lil Nas X is yet to break into acting, he does have an eye for comedy. Last year, he did a series of skits to promote the League of Legends World Championship. He also created the tournament’s anthem, “Star Walkin’”.

White Men Can’t Jump stars Jack Harlow as Jeremy, a streetball hustler whose grift relies on his opponents discounting him because he’s white. He reluctantly teams up with Kamal (Sinqua Walls) to compete in a $500,000 streetball tournament. It’s a remake of the 1992 film of the same name, which starred Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes. Music video director Calmatic makes his directorial debut, while the script was written by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris. White Men Can’t Jump is set to release on Hulu on May 19. What do you think of Lil Nas’ t-shirt? Are you looking forward to White Men Can’t Jump? Let us know in the comments.
