NFL Not Demanding Taylor Swift Songs, Super Bowl DJ Claims

Kaskade, who will serve as the first “in-game Super Bowl DJ” later today at Super Bowl LVIII has told TMZ that he is not being pressured to play Taylor Swift music. Kaskade, who stepped in to replace Tiesto after a family emergency ruled out the “Godfather of EDM”, said that he has received no mandates on content. As long as the tracks are clean, he has free reign on what he plays. Kaskade will provide music throughout the game, only handing off the reigns to Usher for the halftime show.

Of course, the NFL has been very eager to capitalize on Swift’s popularity. Swift first started attending Chiefs games in Week 3 of the season. This led to some grumbling from fans, who felt that Swift was often prioritized over the on-field product. It’s not the first time that Swift has been mentioned this weekend. 49ers depth receiver and musician Ray-Ray McCloud told TMZ he was focused on football and not meeting Swift.

Despite having performed in Tokyo as recently as yesterday, it is believed that Swift will be attending the Super Bowl. Swift kicked off the Asian and European leg of her Eras Tour with a quartet of shows in the Japanese capital. However, for many people, this indicated that she would not be in attendance at Super Bowl LVIII in Vegas. Her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is expected to play a pivotal role in the game. Despite this, Swift’s rapid departure from Tokyo indicated she was trying to make it back to the US before the game. Swift landed at LAX yesterday afternoon.

Furthermore, According to Entertainment Tonight, Kelce will be joining Swift for most of her Asian and European tour dates. “Travis and Taylor are all in… [They] are very serious about their careers. The two bond over that and want to show support for each other whenever they can,” a source told the outlet. Kelce previously used the Chiefs’ bye week to attend Swift’s concert in Argentina.

It looked pretty chaotic at The Wynn on Saturday night (February 10), but people aren’t talking about that as the hot topic on the gossip train. Rather, they took note of someone ushering Odell Beckham Jr. to join Kim in an elevator, which raised a lot of eyebrows and got a lot of fingertips typing online.

Furthermore, the two are currently the subject of dating rumors, and have been for a while now. In fact, recent reports emerged about them actually seeing each other and considering taking their fling public. Alas, it seems like if these rumors are even true, Kim Kardashian and Odell Beckham Jr. are still pumping the brakes on making things official. Of course, the 43-year-old entrepreneur and model has kept her dating life either completely silent or under wraps since her divorce from Kanye West and subsequent split with Pete Davidson. After those instances, we can’t say we blame her at all for wanting to keep things low-key and focus her energies elsewhere. At the same time, Kim Kardashian deserves some happiness and love just like anyone else, and those invested in her story want to see her in a better place. It’s not like she’s doing bad right now, but that success doesn’t fill every void.

For many fans, including Dolphins star Jalen Ramsey, there is a strong belief that Usher will start things off with “Yeah!”, which he has already confirmed will feature Lil Jon, Ludacris, and T-Pain. Meanwhile, another camp led by the Seahawks D.K. Metcalf, believes that Usher will open with some like “U Don’t Have To Call”. Furthermore, there are those, like the Ravens’ Kyle Hamilton, who think “Burn” will be the first song on the setlist. However, some believe that he might start with “Confessions”.

Usher’s performance will be unique as it is set to be 15 minutes long, as opposed to the traditional 13-minute sets seen at the Super Bowl. “I can’t explain why, but it’s a funny thing that I was able to do and craft. Reba McEntire will perform “The Star Spangled Banner”, Post Malone will sing “America the Beautiful”, and Andra Day will close out with “Lift Every Voice And Sing” at tonight’s game. Last year’s game featured performances from Chris Stapleton, Babyface, and Sheryl Lee Ralph. Usher’s halftime show will look to outdo an electric (and pregnant) performance from Rihanna.

McEntire is a country legend, with three Grammy wins and 25 Billboard No. 1 singles. Malone is a 10-time Grammy nominee whose albums are 14 times platinum certified. Meanwhile, Day is a Golden Globe-winning, Oscar-nominated, Grammy-winning singer and actress. The trio should provide an electric start to the proceedings. Furthermore, Kaskade will serve as the first “live in-house DJ” for the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce made reference to Taylor Swift‘s Argentina concert lyric change when asked to “finish the lyric” at a Super Bowl press conference. When asked by a reporter to finish the lyric “Karma is the guy on the…”, Kelce said “Chiefs”. While some outlets reported this moment as Kelce getting the lyric wrong, he was actually making reference to the intentional change Swift made to the lyrics of the song for a concert last year.

Of course, Kelce was hit with a lot of questions about Swift, whose presence at the Super Bowl is in question due to her current tour schedule. Swift is performing in Tokyo until February 10, one day before the Super Bowl in Vegas. Swift and Kelce have been publicly together since Week 3 of the NFL season. However, Swift revealed during her TIME Person of the Year interview that they had been dating for at least a month before their first public outing.

Moreover, according to TMZ, it seems like the Kardashians arrived at the city via private jet on Saturday morning (February 10), with Kim, Khloé, and Kendall Jenner walking out of the airplane in bundles. They wore low-profile outfits, but it wasn’t until they reportedly made it to their hotel that people really started getting excited. Out of their van emerged a man with a puffy coat, white beanie, and blue jeans, which many fans theorized could be Justin Bieber, who’s been in heavy rumors as of late about potentially joining Usher as a special musical guest for his Super Bowl halftime show.

Furthermore, this is all still speculative at press time, but it will surely fuel these rumors even more regardless. What’s more is that Justin Bieber is not the only special guest rumored to appear tomorrow for the big game’s mid-way spectacle. Alicia Keys reportedly rehearsed for the big event, so a lot of fans predict that she will surely join Usher onstage. In fact, Usher recently spoke of incorporating a roller skating bit from his Vegas residency into his Super Bowl halftime show. “When you think about skating, it’s not just rolling and the music,” he told Access Hollywood. “It’s also to what you wear. It’s how you feel. Somewhere during the pandemic I had this bright idea to just go back to having fun, and that’s what this is. I want to offer the same thing to people who come here to dance, and listen to music, have a few drinks, and just chill out or even get on skates and have a good time. Kendrick Lamar And Baby Keem Perform In Vegas Ahead Of The Super Bowl

This weekend, two of the best teams in the NFL are gathering in Las Vegas to play the final game of the football season. But dozens of other celebrities will be showing up in the city to celebrate the big game all weekend. That includes Usher who is performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Post Malone who is singing “America The Beautiful” and numerous high-profile rap and pop artists who are attending and performing at the annual Fanatics party.

Two more artists in attendance are Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem. They’re in town a few days early and seemingly for an entirely different reason. Kendrick was booked to perform at the F1 Livery Launch overnight and Keem was alongside him for part of the show. It’s unclear if they have any other plans for the big game or will even stick around in Las Vegas all weekend. The last time Kendrick Lamar popped up was during Paris Fashion Week. He popped up at a Chanel show where he was again alongside Baby Keem. The show itself used a piece of unreleased Kendrick music to soundtrack it’s runway. They also used another piece of previously hidden music from the rapper to soundtrack a short film released to accompany the show. Unreleased music makes its way into runway shows often but it doesn’t seem like any indication that either track could be coming out soon.

Kendrick Lamar is also continuing to get massive praise for his life shows. Kid Cudi spoke about his new album INSANO during a recent interview. He specifically cited seeing one of Kendrick’s concerts in France as inspiring some of the theatricality of the record. Kendrick himself also spoke on how special the performance was while discussing the live recording that was turned into a movie. Usher Super Bowl Halftime Show Will Be Two Minutes Longer Than Previous Shows, Gets “Hangover” Parody Promo

Usher has revealed that his Super Bowl Halftime Show this Sunday will be 15 minutes long, as opposed to the standard 13 minutes usually allotted for the halftime show. “I can’t explain why, but it’s a funny thing that I was able to do and craft. That was a huge strategic thing that happened between me and my agency,” Usher said of the extended runtime.

Furthermore, Usher told Entertainment Weekly that he sees the Super Bowl Halftime show as the finale of his Vegas residency, which ended its two-year run last year. “I went to Las Vegas with only the belief that people would come because nobody was going anywhere. You have to understand how much of an unwavering belief a person had to have to put together a show after a year of nobody going anywhere and everybody being afraid to be outside for fear of catching COVID or endangering themselves and their families. So the fact that I did that was just truly a matter of belief, and that belief was all positive,” Usher said.

Meanwhile, Usher also joined a stacked cast in Where’s Usher?, a short film from Apple Music to promote his halftime performance. In the 7-minute feature, Ludacris, Lil Jon, and Taraji P. Henson have to track down Usher in Vegas after losing him, a la The Hangover.

Along the way, the trio runs into Anderson.Paak, the Blue Man Group, Wesley Snipes, J. Balvin, Andre 3000’s voice, and “Blanche”. As the short is pretty much a 1:1 parody of The Hangover, it of course ends with the trio finding Usher on the roof of their hotel and they are able to tell Apple CEO Tim Cook that the halftime show can go ahead as planned. It’s a fairly amusing, if crushingly corporate, way to promote the halftime show. However, at the end of the day, “fairly amusing but crushingly corporate” is a pretty fitting description for existence in 2024 so maybe the Super Bowl is simply playing 4D Chess.

Snoop Dogg Recalls Annoying Michael Jackson With His Weed Smoke

It’s no secret that Snoop Dogg loves to smoke pot, but according to him, it doesn’t always sit right with his celebrity friends. During a recent interview with Andy Cohen, he opened up about his relationship with Michael Jackson, recalling a weed-related incident that didn’t go over so well with the King of Pop. Luckily, he says the two of them were like family, so it’s safe to say MJ didn’t hold it against him for too long.

“Me and Mike was family,” he recalled. “His family and my family love each other. We have a record that never came out together. We never had issues… Only issue me and Mike had was we was at, what was that thing? Ed Hardy, Christian Audigier. He had an event in Vegas where they have all the clothes and all of that, so he had performers.”

MJ Told Snoop, “Don’t Do That”

He went on, noting how one oversight was the positioning of his and MJ’s dressing rooms. “He had Michael Jackson perform, Snoop Dogg perform, but where he messed up, he put Michael Jackson’s dressing room right next to Snoop Dogg, so Snoop Dogg is there doing this,” he said, lighting a blunt. “Mm-hmm, and they like, ‘You know, Michael Jackson’s dressing room is next door.’ I’m like, ‘No it ain’t.’ They like, ‘Yeah, [right] there,’ so I’m like, ‘Hold on.’ Open the door.’” He said from there, he exhaled a ton of weed smoke out of the door, but quickly realized that Jackson was right in front of him. “Yeah. He’s right there looking at me. He said, ‘Snoop, don’t do that,’” he recalled in MJ’s tone.

During the interview, Snoop Dogg also revealed that he and Jackson have an unreleased collab somewhere in the archives, though he isn’t sure who has it these days. Lovers & Friends Festival 2024 Brings An Incredible Guest List Of Lil Wayne, Nas, Janet Jackson, Usher, And More

With events such as Rolling Loud and Coachella announcing their artist lineups, ticket sales dates, and everything else, it was a matter of time before another was to follow. We are referring to Lovers & Friends, sort of a new kid on the block to the festival scene. 2022 was essentially the inaugural year, but it was not supposed to be that late. COVID derailed many things including this R&B/hip-hop celebration. Well, we are happy they are continuing to bring the fun as the third Lovers & Friends will be underway soon.

According to multiple publications, including Billboard, we have word on the artists in attendance, the day of the festival, tickets, etc. The Las Vegas-based event will take place on May 4 which is a Saturday. Headlining acts include Usher, Janet Jackson, and the Backstreet Boys. As for tickets, those will go on presale on Friday, January 26th, at 10 a.m. PT. Additionally, tickets start at $19.99 down.

Las Vegas Judge Attacker Deobra Redden In Court Again On Separate Charges After Sentencing

Very few victims have the opportunity to sentence their attackers in court, but on Monday (January 8), Judge Mary Kay Holthus once again came face to face with Deobra Redden while seated comfortably at her bench. 2024 began on a wild note in Las Vegas, as the latter lunged at the former during a court hearing for attempted battery conviction charges last week. The incident led to time spent in isolation, as well as a “2C” inmate classification. This is the most restriction an inmate at Clark County Jail can receive, TMZ reports.

When returning to Nevada court this week, the alleged criminal had guards on each side of him, covers on his hands, and a mesh face mask. Even with the past tension between them, Holthus kept her composure during sentencing. She agreed with prosecutors in giving Redden a 19-48 month sentence for the battery incident. Today (January 9), he’s speaking with a different judge in regard to his latest crimes, for which he’s facing 13 charges.

According to FOX 5 Vegas, Redden has a long list of felony counts against him. Attempted murder against an older person, battery on a protected person resulting in substantial bodily harm against an older person, and extortion are all named. Elsewhere, prosecutors say the inmate is guilty of unlawful act regarding fluid by a prisoner in confinement, and battery by a probationer or parolee. “In the next few days, my office will be reviewing all of the reports to determine what charges to bring based on Mr. Redden’s behaviour in court,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told the outlet. “We’re reviewing all the reports, the witness statements, the extent of the injuries suffered by persons, certainly felony charges without a doubt.”

The past few months have been particularly busy in the crime world, with the YSL RICO trial, YNW Melly’s impending double murder retrial, and Jonathan Majors’ guilty verdict among topics making headlines. Unfortunately for the Florida native, his day in court has been postponed, meaning he’ll be spending even more time awaiting his fate in a cell.
