Kid Cudi Says Travis Scott Collab Project Isn’t Happening: “The Moment Has Passed”

If you’ve anticipated a joint project from Kid Cudi and Travis Scott, then we’re sorry to inform you that it won’t be happening any time soon.

During a recent Q&A on Twitter, a fan asked Cudi if The Scotts was “still on the cards.” Cudi simply stated that it wasn’t going to happen, though he didn’t explain why. “Naw im not doin that. The moment has passed,” he wrote.

Travis never shied away from giving Cudder his flowers as one of his biggest inspirations, so it’s unclear what transpired that put a halt to their joint effort. The two previously released the single, “The Scotts” in 2021 which earned serious praise across the board.

Elsewhere in the Twitter Q&A, a fan also asked if Kid Cudi would work alongside Tyler, The Creator or The Weeknd in the future. He appears to be down but he suggested that they haven’t necessarily been responsive in the past to his requests.

“I think the question is would they ever work w me? And i doubt it, especially tyler. Believe me I’ve asked,” he said. “Abel’s the homie tho but I think that ship has sailed. Its all good!!”

Similarly, he said that a collab with Frank Ocean likely won’t happen in the near future. It isn’t all that surprising since Frank recently hinted at retiring from music altogether.

“Frank is the homie too but I doubt we’ll do something. Some things just arnt gonna happen guys its ok!” he wrote.

However, it looks like we might be able to get a record with Kid Cudi and Logic in the future. After a fan asked if Cudi would work with the Frank Sinatra artist after bringing him on tour, the Cleveland rapper said that it was something he was definitely down to do. He also said that he’s going to work on more music with Jaden Smith in the future.

Aside from music, Kid Cudi debuted his first feature on Netflix, Entergalactic in September to critical acclaim. During the Q&A, he said that he has other animated projects in the works.

Kid Cudi Says His Collaboration Album With Travis Scott Isn’t Happening Anymore: ‘The Moment Has Passed’

Kid Cudi has given us a wide range of projects over the past year. Back in March, he starred in the A24 horror film, X. In September, he released his 10th studio album, Entergalactic, which was accompanied by an animated movie on Netflix.

Though Cudi has teased that we can expect one more album out of him, it’s safe to assume it probably won’t be the much-anticipated collaborative album with Travis Scott.

Back in 2020, Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, released a song with Travis Scott called “The Scotts,” which was also said to be the title of an upcoming collaborative project between the two.

The song, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, proved to be a hit, however, Cudi revealed that the planned project has since been scrapped.

This morning on Twitter, a fan asked Cudi, “Is The Scotts album still on the cards?”

Cudi replied, saying, “Naw im not doin that. The moment has passed.”

Though the album may no longer see the light of day, Cudi said he is still down to record one-off collaborative singles with Scott in the future.

Cudi also revealed that we won’t be getting a sequel to Entergalactic, however, he has some other animated projects in the works.

“my next project im workin on is gonna f*ck u up in the best ways too,” he said.

Kid Cudi Is The Latest To Declare Barry Keoghan Fandom And Keoghan’s Mind Is Blown

Last week, The Banshees Of Inisherin became available for fans to stream on HBO Max — and record their favorite scenes. One of which is a moment in the movie featuring Barry Keoghan’s Dominic, that is now going viral on Twitter for just how great his performance was.

The clip caught the attention of rapper/actor Kid Cudi, who praised the actor and has seemingly been converted into the Barry-hive. “He is a beast. Wow,” Cudi tweeted, as his fans replied in full agreement.

Keoghan caught Cudi’s post, and offered a reply of his own. “WOWWWW! This means a lot brother, Thank you,” he responded, complete with a red heart emoji.

Cudi’s tweet comes on the heels of other celebrities offering their support for Keoghan’s acting skill. “This is just an appreciation tweet to say that my boy @BarryKeoghan in The Banshees of Inisherin is my favorite performance of the year. Stunning work. I’m so proud of you,” wrote Kumail Nanjiani. He is also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor — Motion Picture.

As for the fans, they had even more creative reactions to Keoghan and Cudi recognizing each other’s brilliance. “I assume you’re going to love this tweet……………day and nite?” one user joked, referencing Cudi’s biggest song.

Welcome to the fandom. We’ve had a great year.

Kid Cudi Is Considering Going Into Stand-Up Comedy: ‘I Got Jokes’

Kid Cudi is a jack of all trades — aside from music, he’s working on a memoir, taking skating lessons from Tony Hawk, and acting in movies. Now, he’s considering adding another artistic medium to his roster: Stand-up comedy.

Yesterday, a fan tweeted at the rapper, saying he should do a stand-up set. He quote-tweeted it, writing, “You know, I was thinking of doing a stand-up set one night only for the fans. I feel like I can do it! What do you think?? I got jokes!! All I gotta do is talk about my life, haha.”

In September, Cudi explained he was stepping back from music to focus on other things. “I think I’m going to take a step back from the Kid Cudi stuff and focus a lot more on developing my own things,” he said. “Writing — whether it’s movies or TV shows — producing things, putting stuff together. Just really getting my production company [Mad Solar] up to a place where, in the next three or four years, we’re a household name. I really have goals. We’re off to a great start with the documentary X, Pearl, and now, Entergalactic. I mean, we have four bangers so far, so I just want to see what else we can do and keep going.”

Kid Cudi Teases Not Just One, But Two New Songs With The Incarcerated Young Thug

Young Thug might be locked up for the time being, but that won’t prevent him from putting out more new music in the near future. Kid Cudi, fresh off the release of Entergalactic, teased a couple of collaborations he’d recorded with the Atlanta trap rap veteran in 2021. “I got 2 songs w Thug I did last year,” he wrote. “1 of them goin on the new album the other he’ll use. These songs are fuckin INSANE. Im tellin u. U have no idea.”

Despite saying he was planning to retire from music earlier this year, Cudi has been tweeting about recording a new album for the past few weeks. He revealed his plans on Twitter at the beginning of December after tweeting about making “6 new songs in 3 days” at the end of November. “11 songs in 5 days,” he wrote. “My goal was to do a whole new album worth of songs this week. 12 was my goal. Might get 14.”

Young Thug, meanwhile, was recently in court ahead of his upcoming trial on racketeering charges when a supporter apparently hijacked the Zoom stream by which the attorneys were remotely attending to advocate for his freedom by appearing stark naked. Thug faces a litany of charges including illegal weapons possession and street racing as the Fulton County District Attorney alleges Thug’s leadership of a hybrid street gang operating under the guise of a record label.

Young Thug is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Kid Cudi’s Breakout Song ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ Earned Diamond Status, Rapper Reflected On The Journey

Lil Wayne isn’t the only rapper to cross a significant milestone this week. Former G.O.O.D. Music artist Kid Cudi’s breakout single, “Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmares),” is now R.I.A.A. certified diamond. The track, off from his album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, quickly solidified his footing in the rap game back in 2009.

As Kid Cudi prepares for retirement from music due to toxic online users, he can add one more musical notch to his belt before he begins working on his rumored memoir. To commemorate the moment, the rapper took to Twitter to write, “‘Pursuit of Happiness’ is certified diamond. Thank you to everyone who connected with this song and played it over and over all these years. I love you all!”

With the accomplishment still lingering in his mind, Kid Cudi jumped online today to add, “I was in rehab when the frequency video came out. I shot it, then went on a 2-week cocaine run,” later edited the tweet to include, “The video sneaking into the bathroom to do bumps. Then, I woke up one day and said, “Ima die if things don’t change. So, I made sure things changed.”

He ended the thread with, “Sometimes, you gotta fight for your life because it’s the greatest gift we all have.”

Ab-Soul Clears The Air About A Rumored Kid Cudi Diss On His Song ‘Church On The Move’

Ab-Soul appeared on the Rap Radar Podcast to clear the air about a suspected diss he made towards Kid Cudi. Ahead of the release of his first album in six years, Herbert, dropping tomorrow, Ab-Soul denied that he did — instead claiming the “cudi” word usage was a street term.

“It seems like you still have the competitive spirit on there like you’re firing some shots off in the verse,” Brian “B.Dot” Miller, one of the show’s hosts, commented about a line in Ab-Soul’s song, “Church On The Move.”

“Which shots? What do you mean?” Ab-Soul asked.

“It sounded like you were talking to a specific rapper,” Miller added. “It sounded like you were talking about Kid Cudi. You mentioned a name, and you said a lot of things in there.”

“You think I would diss Kid Cudi? The great Kid Cudi? On a song called ‘Church On The Move’?” Ab-Soul replied. “Peace be unto you. Come on, B.Dot. And y’all trust this guy with the lists?”

“There goes my credibility,” Miller joked back.

“No, look. Listen. ‘Cudi’ is a term that we use. It’s kinda on some Cr*p sh*t, you know what I’m saying?” Ab continued.
