Kevin Hart And The Rock: Every Time They Have Worked Together

Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are two of Hollywood’s most popular and bankable actors. Their long-standing friendship and on-screen chemistry have made them a dynamic duo in the entertainment industry.

The two have appeared together in several movies. These movies showcase their comedic talents and create some of the most memorable moments in recent film history. In addition to their movie collaborations, Hart and Johnson have worked on various projects outside the film industry, including social media and charitable endeavors.

With Jumanji 4 and DC League Of Super-Pets 2 slated to come out soon, we take a closer look at every time Hart and Johnson have worked together. Moreover, we will explore the magic of their comedic partnership and why their dynamic continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Central Intelligence (2016)

Hart and Johnson

Central Intelligence was the first movie that Hart and Johnson worked on together. Hart plays Calvin Joyner, a shy accountant who reunites with his high school classmate Bob Stone played by Dwayne Johnson. However, Calvin soon discovers that Bob is a rogue CIA agent who is on a mission to prevent a deadly threat to national security.

The two team up to save the world and clear Bob’s name. Fans and critics praised the chemistry between Hart and Johnson, who delivered a hilarious and entertaining performances in their respective roles. Johnson is charismatic and quirky, which contrasts nicely with Hart’s character.

The movie’s humor comes from their odd-couple dynamic. Johnson’s over-the-top antics and Hart’s skeptical reactions are priceless. The incredible witty banter between Hart and Johnson makes the movie a must-watch.

One of the funniest scenes in Central Intelligence is when Hart and Johnson’s characters break into a high-security building to retrieve important information. Bob, dressed in a unicorn onesie, sneaks around while Calvin watches from the security room.

However, it is difficult for Bob to move between his clumsiness and the onesie’s design. The result is numerous hilarious mishaps, including falling down a flight of stairs. Hart’s disbelieving reactions and Johnson’s exaggerated physical comedy make the scene inconceivable and unforgettable.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (2017)

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was the second film that Hart and Johnson worked together on, but it is arguably one of the funniest. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Kevin Hart as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse, and Jack Black as Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon.

The chemistry between Johnson and Hart is awesome. The two actors play off each other’s strengths, with Johnson playing a confident and fearless adventurer and Hart playing a neurotic and fearful zoologist. The contrast between their characters and their comedic timing raises the film to a loftier comedy level.

In one memorable scene, Johnson’s character teaches Hart’s character how to be more confident and decisive. As they walk through the Jungle, Bravestone encourages Mouse to repeat the phrase, “I have a backpack, and you don’t!” with increasing confidence.

The scene culminates in a side-splitting moment where Mouse finally yells the phrase at the top of his lungs. Unfortunately, only to be instantly ambushed by a group of furious animals. Hart’s uneven voice and Johnson’s deadpan delivery make the scene both humorous and charming. Additionally, the physical comedy of the animals sends the scene over the top with funniness.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is a 2019 action film directed by David Leitch. The movie stars Johnson as Luke Hobbs, a federal agent, and Hart also appears in a small role as the air marshal Dinkley. The movie follows the story of Hobbs and Shaw (Jason Stamos), who must team up to stop a dangerous virus from falling into the hands of a cyber-genetically enhanced terrorist.

Hart’s appearance as Dinkley was short, but he produced some of the movie’s funnier lines. Hart’s chemistry with Johnson adds an extra layer of humor to their scenes. Additionally, their interactions are some of the most memorable parts of the movie.

One hilarious scene showcasing their comedic talent is when Kevin Hart, as Dinkley, must watch Shaw’s sister. As Dinkley attempts to keep her entertained, he reveals some personal details about himself, including his fear of public speaking and his love for Disney movies.

Additionally, Hart’s delivery of the lines is spot-on. The chemistry between Hart and Johnson is also prominent in this scene, with Johnson’s character teasing Dinkley and adding to the dynamic. The movie was well-received by critics and fans of the franchise.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

Hart and Johnson

Jumanji: the Next Level is the 2019 action-adventure comedy film directed by Jake Kasdan. Additionally, it is the third movie Johnson and Hart worked on together. The movie is a sequel to the 2017 film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, with Hart and Johnson reprising their roles.

The story follows the friends who are transported back into the dangerous world of Jumanji. Furthermore, they must now navigate different terrains and overcome various challenges to escape the game and save their friend. Critics praised the chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. The two actors play off each other’s strengths phenomenally well.

The dynamic of Hart’s character assigned the weakness of being afraid of everything, while Johnson’s character is a fearless adventurer is perfect for the two actors. A perfect example of the comedic chemistry between the two is when Mouse and Bravestone swap bodies due to a new game feature.

As a result, Mouse, who was previously terrified of everything, now has Bravestone’s fearless and confident personality. In contrast, Bravestone now has Mouse’s nervous and jittery persona. The scene is hilarious because of the discrepancy between the two characters’ personalities and how they adapt to their new roles.

Hart’s comedic timing shines as he plays Bravestone’s assured persona. Additionally, Johnson’s physical comedy is on maximum display as he struggles to adjust to Mouse’s nervous tics.

DC League Of Super-Pets (2022)

Hart and Johnson

In DC League of Super-Pets, Krypto (voiced by Johnson), Superman’s loyal canine companion, teams up with Ace (voiced by Hart), Batman’s trusty hound, to form a league of super-powered pets. Together, they must stop a group of villains led by Lex Luthor from taking over the world.

This is the most recent film the two have worked on together. Critics noted that the chemistry between Johnson and Hart was a film highlight. Their dynamic translates well into animated roles, with Hart’s high-pitched voice as Ace playing off Johnson’s deep baritone as Krypto.

A great example of the two’s ability to bring their chemistry even to animation is when Krypto and Ace first meet and try to impress each other with their respective powers. Krypto shows off his super strength and heat vision, while Ace demonstrates his superior sense of smell and agility.

However, things quickly spiral out of control when Ace accidentally sets off one of Krypto’s heat vision beams, causing chaos in the city. Kevin Hart and his comedic delivery as Ace add a lot of humor to the scene, while Dwayne Johnson’s deep voice and self-assured attitude as Krypto create a great contrast.

His outstanding comedic timing, physical comedy, and extraordinary ability to poke fun at himself have made him a beloved figure with fans. This list highlights Hart’s 10 funniest acting roles.

# 10-Ace the Bat-Hound-DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

Ace and Batman League of Super-Pets

Kevin Hart voiced the character of Ace in League of Super-Pets. The animated movie features the pets of DC’s superheroes, including Hart’s character, Batman’s dog, and Superman’s dog Krypto voiced by Dwayne Johnson. Ace is a small, scrappy dog determined to prove himself to his superhero owners.

Hart’s performance is incredibly funny because he effortlessly brings his trademark energy and humor to the role. Hart’s voice acting brings a childlike quality to Ace and is a perfect fit for his comedic style. His ability to infuse the character with humor and heart makes him a standout character in the movie.

#9 Brian-Death at a Funeral (2007)

In the British dark comedy Death at a Funeral, Hart plays Brian, a neurotic man in love with another character’s cousin. Brian’s loud personality permeates every inch of every scene he’s in.

Hart’s genius facial expressions amplify the humor of each situation Brian encounters. Brian’s obsession with a hallucinogenic drug creates one of the most humorous scenes. As he tries to navigate the funeral while entirely out of his mind, the audience is left in stitches.

As Brian’s drug-induced trip intensifies, his already high-pitched voice becomes even more exaggerated. He unleashes an unforgettable monologue that is one of the funniest Kevin Hart moments ever.

#8 Jimmy Callahan-The Wedding Ringer (2015)

Hart as Jimmy Callahan

Hart plays Jimmy Callahan, a professional best man-for-hire in the movie The Wedding Ringer. Callahan helps socially awkward grooms create the illusion of having a group of loyal friends.

Hart is hilarious, delivering wit and energy, hilarious one-liners, and physical comedy that perfectly balance the character’s confidence and vulnerability. One amazing scene is when Jimmy teaches the groom how to do a choreographed dance routine to surprise the bride.

However, their performance goes ridiculously awry as they struggle to keep up with the dance moves. Jimmy saves the day by jumping in and leading the dance. He delivers some unbelievably witty lines as he shows off his exceptional dance moves. This includes a not-to-be-missed impression of Michael Jackson’s moonwalk.

#7 Bernie-About Last Night (2014)

In the movie About Last Night, Hart plays Bernie Litgo, the best friend of Danny Martin, played by Michael Ealy. Bernie is a loud, brash, and unapologetic character who is always ready with a wisecrack or a raunchy joke.

Hart delivers some of the funniest rapid-fire one-liners and clever quips of his acting career in this movie. His interactions with the other characters, especially Joan, played by Regina Hall, generate many of the most amusing moments in the film.

In one scene, Bernie attempts to give Joan some dating advice but ends up making a fool of himself. Hart’s physical comedy in this scene is a doozy. He flails around and makes over-the-top gestures while attempting to prove his point.

#6 Snowball-The Secret Life of Pets (2016)

Another hilarious animated standout performance for Hart is in The Secret Life of Pets. Hart voices the character of Snowball, a cute but psychotic bunny who is the leader of a group of abandoned pets living in New York City’s sewers.

Hart brings a manic energy to the role, delivering his lines with a mix of humor and intensity. This performance perfectly captures Snowball’s unhinged personality. Kevin Hart’s ability to use different inflections gives Snowball a distinctive tone, making his lines even funnier.

Hart’s ability to inject humor into every line of dialogue for Snowball makes his performance a masterclass in animated comedy.

#5 Darnell Lewis-Get Hard (2015)

Hart as Darnell Lewis in Get Hard

Starring Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell, Get Hard is a comedy about a wealthy but clueless investment banker James King played by Ferrell, who enlists the help of a car wash attendant, Darnell Lewis, played by Hart, to prepare him for a stint in prison after he is wrongfully convicted of fraud.

Hart’s performance as Darnell is so funny because he plays against type. Hart’s facial expressions and over-the-top reactions to the outrageous moments in the film add an extra layer of humor to the already absurd situations.

Plus, his exchanges with Ferrell’s character create hilarious moments as both have a strong background in standup comedy. Additionally, Hart’s capacity to improvise and ad-lib lines on the spot adds to the comedic punch of the film.

#4 Calvin Joyner-Central Intelligence (2016)

Hart as Calvin Joyner in Central Intelligence

Hart plays Calvin Joyner, a mild-mannered accountant caught up in a dangerous CIA mission with his former high school classmate, Bob Stone, played by Dwayne Johnson in the movie Central Intelligence.

This role is hilarious because Hart plays the straight man to Johnson’s over-the-top character, reacting with humor and disbelief to the crazy situations they find themselves in. Hart’s physical comedy is also on point in the movie, with his character getting thrown around in wild action scenes.

In one terrific scene, Calvin attempts to jump through a window but fails miserably, resulting in a hilarious and shocking outcome. Hart’s innate timing, sarcastic remarks, and self-deprecating humor add so much to the film’s comedy.

#3 Franklin “Mouse” Finbar-Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017)

The movie Jumani features Kevin Hart as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, a former high school football player who finds himself transported into the body of a short zoologist in the dangerous jungle-themed game world of Jumanji.

In contrast to his usual confident, quick-witted persona, Hart’s character Mouse is nervous and easily flustered. Hart pulls this off spectacularly. His interactions with the other characters, especially Dwayne Johnson’s character, create unforgettable, hilarious moments.

Hart and Johnson’s interactions throughout the movie are priceless.

#2 Teddy Walker-Night School (2018)

Hart as Teddy Walker in Night School

Hart and Tiffany Haddish star in the movie Night School. It is a comedy about a group of adults who return to high school to earn their GEDs. Hart plays Teddy Walker, a high school dropout who is also a bit of a con artist who tries to cheat his way through school and avoid studying, which creates some fabulous comedic moments.

One great example is when Teddy attempts to use a hidden earpiece during a test but accidentally tunes in to a love radio station. As he tries to focus on the test questions, he begins repeating the radio host’s romantic phrases out loud, much to his classmates’ confusion and his teacher’s frustration (played by Haddish).

Hart makes this character both lovable and hilarious. He is high-energy, with rapid-fire wit constantly being delivered. He carries the movie with his incredible comedic timing and natural charisma.

#1 Nashawn Wade-Soul Plane (2004)

Soul Plane is about Nashawn Wade, played by Hart, a passenger who wins a lawsuit against an airline and uses the money to start his own airline called NWA (Nashawn Wade Airlines). Additionally, the movie features an all-star cast, including Method Man and Snoop Dogg.

While the movie is packed from start to finish with hilarity, one of the funniest scenes is when he accidentally ingests some marijuana brownies and hallucinates that he is speaking with the plane’s captain, played by Snoop Dogg. While another features Nashawn and a malfunctioning bathroom on the airplane. When he tries to fix the toilet, it results in a series of equally cringe-worthy and side-splittingly funny incidents.

Kevin Hart employs his amazing talent to use body language and facial expressions for emphasis, fast-paced and lively delivery, and nuance and wit to bring both vulnerability and strength to the character.

The competitive element of the show is also likely to be a major draw for viewers. Both Cannon and Hart are known for their competitive nature, and the show’s format will give them plenty of chances to one-up each other and earn bragging rights. The hosts will determine the winner of each episode’s celebrity prank war.

The Tweet That Started It

Who’s Having My Baby?

The show’s announcement comes after a fairly outlandish Tweet released in March, which appeared to be a new E! game show dubbed Who’s Having My Baby? The show claimed to feature Hart and Cannon and their pursuit of discovering what celebrity was pregnant with their kid.

The Tweet went viral, leading to some bafflement about whether the show was genuine. Especially given Cannon’s family circumstances.

Cannon’s unconventional family setup has been the subject of much debate in the media, with some condemning his decision to have children with multiple partners. However, he has consistently defended his choices, arguing that he can provide love and support to all of his children and their mothers.

However, the controversy surrounding the tweet only served to generate even more interest in the show. Additionally, both Hart and Cannon quickly clarified that the tweet was definitely a joke and that Celebrity Prank Wars was their actual project for the E! network.

More Than Just Co-hosts of Celebrity Prank Wars

It was a prank

Cannon and Hart’s irreverent humor and willingness to push boundaries have made them both popular figures in the entertainment world and friends for an exceptionally long time.

Cannon and Hart are both extremely passionate about making people laugh and have often collaborated on comedy projects. They share a similar sense of humor and can effortlessly play off each other in a hilarious and natural way.

Cannon and Hart’s friendship goes back more than a decade, to when they were both up-and-coming comedians trying to make a name for themselves in the industry. They first crossed paths on the comedy circuit, where they instantly recognized each other’s talent and bonded.

A Time-Tested Friendship

‘Kevin Hart: I’m a Grown Little Man’

Their first collaboration came in 2005 when Cannon directed Hart’s stand-up special Kevin Hart: I’m a Grown Little Man. The special was a hit and helped to launch Hart’s career. From there, the two went on to work together on a variety of different projects, including films, television shows, and live performances.

One of their most successful collaborations has been the Real Husbands of Hollywood series, which aired on BET from 2013 to 2016. The show was a spoof of the notorious Real Housewives franchise.

Another reason that Cannon and Hart’s friendship has remained strong is their shared commitment to giving back to their communities. Both comedians are known for their philanthropic efforts and have used their platforms to support various causes.

It’s Deeper Than Comedy

For example, Hart founded the Help From the Hart charity in 2017. The foundation supplies scholarships to students from underprivileged backgrounds to attend historically black colleges and universities.

Nick Cannon Reveals “Who’s Having My Baby?” Teaser Was A Prank, Announces Another Show

On Tuesday (March 7), Nick Cannon took to Instagram to tease his questionable new gameshow, Who’s Having My Baby? In the trailer, comedian Kevin Hart puts the father-of-12 in the hot seat, saying “you’re going to get some contestants that want to have your baby.” The promo also claimed that this new release was “the mother of all gameshow,” although the plot and purpose of this strange concept remained ambiguous. However, with Cannon welcoming five children from five different baby mamas in the last year, the show wasn’t fully unbelievable.

As it turns out, the father-of-12’s announcement was just a prank in light of an actual project that he and Kevin Hart have been brewing up. On Wednesday (March 8), Cannon crushed all of the talks about Who’s Having My Baby? with another Instagram post. “Gotcha!!!! ‘Who’s Having My Baby?’ was definitely a prank y’all, but #CelebrityPrankWars is our real show,” the 42-year-old wrote. Accompanying his post was the promo for Celebrity Prank Wars, which will premiere on April 6th.

Nick Cannon And Kevin Hart To Team Up For New Show

This hasn’t been the first time that Cannon and Hart have created pranks around the rapper’s notorious fatherhood. Last year, Hart gifted Cannon a vending machine filled with condoms by Hart. According to E!, the comedic duo will “help celebrities pull off the most elaborate pranks yet.” The network has also released the official trailer for the series, where Cannon adds “there’s nothing that besties do better than pranking each other.” The pranks featured on the show are noted as “adrenaline pumping” and “eye-opening.” In the promo, these wild jokes are teased, shown to involve crashes, explosions, and destruction. “This. Means. War,” the pair announces at the end of the trailer.

Each week, Cannon and Hart will aid one of their “famous friends” in executing an over-the-top scheme. A strong roster of celebrities will be featured on the show, including Tiffany Hadish, Ludacris, and Lil Jon. With the show just a month away, it’s likely that the pranksters may have some other tricks up their sleeves for promoting their upcoming show. Nick Cannon Announces “Who’s Having My Baby?” Game Show As A Prank

Nick Cannon and Kevin Hart

Nick Cannon announced a new game show, “Who’s Having My Baby?” hosted by Kevin Hart. The announcement was a prank and a way to get back at Hart after finding himself the target of his jokes for fathering many children. Actor and businessman Nick Cannon seems to be cracking jokes weeks before April Fools Day […]

No, Nick Cannon’s ‘Who’s Having My Baby,’ A Game Show Searching For A New Baby Mama, Probably Isn’t Real

Yesterday (March 7), Nick Cannon and Kevin Hart announced Who’s Having My Baby? with a trailer. What is it? It looked like an upcoming game show on E! hosted by Hart, in which Cannon looks for a new woman to impregnate and add to the whopping 12 children he already has.

Now, Who’s Having My Baby? is a ridiculous concept for a game show, but in some ways, it seemed somewhat plausible. Cannon has been eager to joke about his prolific paternity and Hart previously got in on the fun by sending Cannon a condom vending machine. Furthermore, perhaps impregnation wasn’t the literal goal of the game show, and the promo was just a clickbait-y sort of introduction for a show with a less atypical premise. E! getting in on the video made everything seem more real, too:

Ultimately, though, it does appear that Who’s Having My Baby? is fake, at least in terms of it being a genuine game show. Variety reports that the idea is “actually a gag, orchestrated by comedian Kevin Hart, as a sketch for an upcoming, not-yet-announced project,” which could be announced as soon as today, per “insiders.”

Neither Cannon nor Hart have yet to drop the bit and reveal the show isn’t real, but it appears an announcement on that front is coming soon.

Nick Cannon’s Baby-Related Announcement Is So Much Stranger Than You Thought — And Kevin Hart’s Involved

Fans thought Nick Cannon was going to announce a new baby. Instead, they’re getting a game show with Kevin Hart about making babies.

Let me back up.

Yesterday, the rapper-turned-TV-host — who has a reputation for being kind of a baby-making machine, fathering 12 kids with six different women — teased an upcoming announcement with wording that had fans nervous for lucky number 13. Instead, the announcement turned out to be so much weirder than anyone could have thought.

Instead of a new child, Cannon shared a trailer for a new game show on E! Network with Kevin Hart playing off of his reputation by having women compete with each other for a strange (and borderline gross, let’s be honest) grand prize: The honor of becoming Nick’s seventh baby mama. It’s like The Bachelor, I guess, except skipping the love/romance/marriage part and getting straight to the child support. No wonder he has so many jobs.

Joining Nick in this … ahem … endeavor is fellow comic Kevin Hart, who was among the many voices teasing his good buddy about his
prolificity last year, trolling him with a billboard giving away his phone number for “fatherhood advice” and sending him a vending machine full of condoms. Judging from the trailer, the competition will be quite zany and extend the comedic pairs’ long prank war. Check it out below.

Kevin Hart’s First Comedy Show In Egypt Canceled Due To His “Afrocentric” Views

As part of his Kevin Hart: Reality Check tour, Kevin Hart was booked to perform his first Egypt show on February 21st. The show was canceled, however, due to “local logistical issues,” the organizers revealed on Instagram. Allegedly, the cancelation followed uproar from local Egyptians who were upset with the comedian’s “Afrocentric” views. Eurweb reports that Hart has been accused of “distorting history.” Previously, the 43-year-old had stated, ”we must teach our children the true history of Black Africans when they were kings in Egypt and not just the era of slavery that is cemented by education in America. Do you remember the time when we were kings?”

Egyptian Twitter users were quick to clap back on Hart’s allegations, which contributed to the #StopAfroCentricConference boycott. One user went as far as to Tweet, “want to steal and attribute Egypt’s civilization to Africans and tell modern Egyptians that we are occupying Egypt from them. We must all participate in the campaign to cancel Kevin’s concert.” Evidently, the dissatisfaction from Egyptians was enough for the show organizers to cancel one day before Hart’s performance.

Kevin Hart’s Cairo Show Canceled By Organizers

While both Afrocentric scholars and Egyptian critics maintain strong opinions on history, Dean of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport in Egypt Monica Hanna believes that the truth remains in the middle. “Both extreme Egyptian nationalists and Afrocentrists adopt discourses based on racist ideas of color and ethnicity,” she said to News Line, “that are utterly detached from scientific, historical, and cultural facts.” Additionally, Hanna compares the feud to fights between “violent rival football fans.”

Still, anger against Hart’s Afrocentric comments were enough to dismantle his comedy show this week. Accordingly, several users took to Twitter to express their appreciation for the decision. For example, one user wrote, “Kevin, Hart’s nonsense show canceled keep his Afrocentric ass out of Egypt,” while another mentioned, “Seeing Kevin hart’s show here get canceled is so satisfying to see.” While his Cairo show remains canceled, Hart will continue his Reality Check tour in Abu Dhabi tonight (February 22nd). Following his remaining performances in the Middle East, the comedian will return to America for shows in March. For more news on your favorite stars, keep in touch with HNHH.
