Adin Ross Rips Into Jack Dorsey For Supporting Kendrick Lamar Against Drake

The Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle divided all your favorite pop culture randoms who have absolutely nothing to do with hip-hop, or at least, very little. Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey was over the moon when he heard that Kendrick will headline the Super Bowl, as he’s been supporting him against Drizzy this whole time. Adin Ross, a strong OVO ally, chose to clown Dorsey’s recent tweet about the matter: “‘big as the superbowl.’” The streamer was live when he theorized as to why Jack is so mad at the 6ix God and mocked that he’s no longer in charge of Twitter – sorry, “X.”

“That’s why he’s not the CEO anymore and that’s why Elon Musk is doing a way better job than him,” Adin Ross ranted on his stream “Allowing freedom of speech and s**t. I don’t give a f**k, bro, this f***ing libt**d. I don’t care, I said it, I said it, I said it. He banned Trump, and now Trump owns this app. This f***ing quill-fest app. Yo, Elon Musk did what Jack couldn’t do. I don’t care, it’s better now. X is way better now. It’s owned by somebody who supports Trump, thank God. We needed that. And Drake f***ed your wife!”

Adin Ross Roasts Jack Dorsey

Furthermore, many people have speculated as to why Jack Dorsey seems to dislike Drake so passionately. Adin Ross revealed one of them, which is some typical relationship drama stuff. The other is about the Toronto superstar allegedly pulling out of a TIDAL partnership at the last minute. No matter what’s actually true, though, Ross and many other OVO Stans went full cuckoo with this Super Bowl announcement and with everyone else happy for Kendrick Lamar. It’s just a tweet, man…

Meanwhile, Adin Ross’ loyalty to Drake is well-documented. He recently previewed a collaboration between him and Lil Durk that left him satisfied. We’ll see what other random comments and fights people choose to engage in with this whole Super Bowl business. Leave it to a rap beef and a further polarized hip-hop fanbase to turn every little thing into a sales battle, a d**k-measuring contest, or a full-on attack.

Lil Wayne Fans & Collaborators Express Outrage Over Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Halftime Show

So many hip-hop fans are excited for Kendrick Lamar’s recently announced Super Bowl LIX halftime show in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. However, even some of his strongest supporters admit that Jay-Z and the NFL missed out on a massive and more well-deserved opportunity to bring Lil Wayne to the massive stage. Whether it was Young Money goons or people who are typically Drake/Weezy haters, a lot of people discussed this move and made their case for the Cash Money icon. Not only that, but Tunechi’s engineer and producer Fabian Marasciullo took to his Instagram Story on Sunday (September 8) to seemingly react to Kendrick’s announcement.

“Confused. Disappointed. Angry. But most of all. Inspired,” he wrote on IG, which led many to assume that he was talking about the NFL picking Kendrick Lamar instead of Lil Wayne. “Will never again be in a position or have the [goat emoji] in a position where we are at the mercy of someone elses decision. We will make the decisions.” Of course, another element to consider is Wayne’s loyalty to Drake in regards to the Kendrick battle, plus the fact that the Compton lyricist mocked his Toronto rival’s teases toward a “Game 2.”

Lil Wayne’s Producer Seems To Address Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl

Another argument in Lil Wayne’s favor is that the next two Super Bowls will be in California, so Kendrick Lamar would’ve had his shot. Overall, though, it’s clear that the public’s reaction to all this – no matter where they lean – falls victim to the lack of public knowledge about the business background of all this. But maybe this conversation would all become moot if the pgLang creative brings Weezy out in February. It’s very unlikely when you consider Young Money’s family ties, but Kendrick sticking up for Wayne on “Not Like Us” indicates that he still has a lot of love for him. Check out more takes on this Super Bowl debate down below.

Fans Debate

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne almost collaborated on a Jay Rock song years before Kendrick and the rest of TDE made it to the top of the rap game. Eventually, they linked up on “Mona Lisa” off Tha Carter V. We’ll see if anything else happens soon that will inform or reveal more about this situation. If nothing else, we’re very excited for whatever greatness occurs on February 9… Even if we know that someone else should be taking the headlining spot.

Kendrick Lamar Responds To Drake In Super Bowl Announcement: “No Round 2s”

For the umpteenth time in 2024, Kendrick Lamar has stopped the hip-hop world in its tracks. He just announced on Sunday (September 8) that he will be the headlining act at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. In his announcement video, K.Dot even made a cheeky and downright dismissive reference to his victory in the Drake battle that raged on just a few months ago. “You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round two’s,” he says at one point in the video linked in the post below. This, of course, electrified a lot of fans, whether they are Kendrick fans or not.

Furthermore, this “Round 2” reference is about Drake’s recent IG burner post about “winning Game 2,” which many took as a direct reference to the Kendrick Lamar battle. We don’t know what he actually meant by this, though, as a “Game 2” can mean many different things. Does the 6ix God actually plan on lyrically battling the Compton rapper again or is this more of a symbolic flex about career longevity and commercial success? After all, anyone who truly thought that the OVO mogul’s career would be over after this beef is delusional.

Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Announcement

With all this feud discourse in mind, you can already imagine the kind of criticisms and praises that Kendrick Lamar and Drake fans are throwing out in reaction to this. When one fan gets excited about Kendrick stomping on Drizzy for the millionth time, another fan thinks that “Not Like Us” is Mr. Syrup Sandwiches’ only big hit. Nevertheless, this adds to some other teases about the former TDE lyricist’s next moves, including a possible future collab with Playboi Carti. Don’t get your hopes up, though: that’s still purely speculative as of writing this article.

Meanwhile, we can’t wait to see what Kendrick Lamar brings to the Super Bowl halftime show next year, especially as this suggests that he might drop something to pair with it. But that wasn’t the case for Rihanna, so let’s not get our hopes up. In any case, this should definitely mitigate some of the lost momentum that some people attributed to his tardiness. Whether or not any of this actually relates back to the Drake battle remains a mystery, as this announcement suggests that The Boy will be yapping to a brick wall if he tries to re-engage.

Wack 100 Thinks Kendrick Lamar Lost Momentum & Interest By Not Dropping An Album Yet

Like many other people in the hip-hop world, Wack 100 is wondering what in the world is going on with Kendrick Lamar. Folks thought that he might follow up the Drake battle with some immediate new music, but all we’ve heard are crickets ever since the “Not Like Us” rollout and Juneteenth concert. While this is surely frustrating for many, most people are just happy to be patient for whatever creativity K.Dot brings us next. But Wack thinks that he’s actually losing momentum now due to this lateness, and that people won’t express interest in his next moves for much longer.

“[He] thinks he’s going to ride the wave from March, April, May (to November, December),” Wack 100 said of Kendrick Lamar on social media. “That don’t work like that now. Too many people gon’ get shot. A n***a gon’ die of an overdose. This n***a over here gon’ get out of jail. This n***a over here gon’ jump off the top of a building. They’re going to totally forget about what the f**k happened seven, eight months ago. You’re not going to have the attention of the people, bro.”

Wack 100 Thinks Kendrick Lamar Is Taking Too Long To Drop

“Something would’ve had to come out, bro,” Wack 100 continued concerning Kendrick Lamar. “Something would’ve had to come out to ride the wave, something! If he would’ve still been up under TDE, Top Dawg, something would’ve came out. N***a, that’s a fact, I’ma tell you that right now. Something would’ve came out if he had been up under that. But I’ma be real. These guys that come from 10, 15, 20 years ago, they have this process that they do to create an album that serves no purpose today. You understand what I’m saying?

“These young n***as go in, they kick them out,” Wack 100 continued. “2 minute songs, get it out, get it out. These n***as got this long process where they do some songs, then they listen to them in the studio for a month, then they go back and f**k with them again another month. Then it takes another month, they mix it, they change the mix and change this s**t. These n***as taking three, four months, my n***a. You had a buzz going for whatever reason. By that time, you’ve lost the people.”

Teezo Touchdown’s Response To Being Mentioned On Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Is A Masterclass In Pacifism

Overall, Teezo Touchdown is an artist who has been exploding in popularity as of late. This is thanks to a plethora of features on songs from Drake and Travis Scott. He has even gone on tour with Don Toliver, which speaks to how big he has gotten as of late. Moreover, he was even mentioned on Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss, “Not Like Us.” He is mentioned very early in the song and if you’ve heard the track, you probably already know the line by heart.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Teezo was asked how he feels about the namedrop. Considering he has a working relationship with Drake, you can understand how he may be just a tad uncomfortable. Furthermore, he has always been someone who remains neutral and lives a pacifist lifestyle. That was fully on display during his answer. In fact, Teezo didn’t listen to a single one of the diss tracks throughout the entire battle. Instead, he simply appreciates that the biggest artists in hip-hop know who he is.

Teezo Touchdown Is Worried About Other Things

“I made a decision that I wasn’t going to listen to any of the back-and-forth,” Teezo said. “I’m seeing a mob mentality, and I don’t like division. Sorry I’m so kumbaya, but it’s all love over here. [The simple fact they both] know who I am… it’s still one of those moments where you have to pinch yourself. The kid in Beaumont, I’m pretty sure he’s jumping through the roof right now.”

Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that Teezo should be taking sides? Or is it a smart business decision for him to simply sit this out and let it play out while he remains on the sidelines? Kendrick Lamar Fans Eviscerate Billboard For Not Crowning “Not Like Us” As “Song Of The Summer”

Once again, hip-hop fans are complaining about other publications and media companies passing judgement on the genre’s offerings. However, this time around, we’re sure that there’s a specific set of rap die-hards in support of a particular Canadian superstar that aren’t complaining. Moreover, Kendrick Lamar fans are outraged at how Billboard did not rank the Drake diss “Not Like Us” as “the song of the summer” for 2024. Instead, the outlet gave the crown to Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help.” However, Billboard does have a metric and an explanation that details how they arrived at this conclusion.

According to the publication, “the 20-position Songs of the Summer running tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Billboard Hot 100 chart from Memorial Day through Labor Day (this year encompassing charts dated June 8 through Sept. 7).” As such, the early May release of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” is probably what impacted these numbers. Still, for the wider hip-hop, music, and pop culture spheres, you can’t deny that there wasn’t a more inescapable and moment-creating track that dominated the summer.

Kendrick Lamar Did Not Have The “Song Of The Summer,” According To Billboard

Maybe we’re not giving Sabrina Carpenter and others their due flowers, but it’s hard to deny the sheer scale and impact of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle in the summer of 2024. We’re still seeing developments in this area, such as the Toronto lyricist’s new music releases and the promise of a “Game 2” on his behalf. But when it comes to K.Dot, we really have no idea what he’ll do next apart from a few speculative theories and hints from his camp here and there. Will the robbed song of the summer become song of the year if this beef rages on?

Fans React

Nevertheless, we have to acknowledge how ridiculous it is that folks even care about what Billboard has to say about Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” Even if the summer is wrapping up, this battle definitely has more legs. Some of it is reflective, like Adam22 thinking that the Compton MC should support his colleagues more. But as for what the future holds as the epilogue to this story, all we can do is excitedly wait.

Adam22 Calls Out Kendrick Lamar Amid YG’s Abysmal Album Sales

Kendrick Lamar has gotten quite a bit of flack online for not sharing anything on social media about the new album from YG, which is currently suffering from disappointing sales. Of course, this is because he was one of many artists to join K.Dot at “The Pop Out” this June. Also, there are a lot of different ways to look at this argument. Kendrick’s defenders will bring up their past collaborations, the concert itself, and their long history as more than enough support, and will also bring up that he doesn’t even use social media like that for anyone or anything. But others like Adam22 think that he could do more, and don’t understand why we let him be so mysterious even if we don’t know how he could’ve supported his West Coast colleague behind the scenes.

“What did Kendrick do for everybody?” Adam22 asked about Kendrick Lamar amid Wack 100’s complaints that Adam and others are “nitpicking” and don’t really know what’s going on between each other. “Why didn’t he post YG’s album?” Adam went on. “That’s what a lot of people want to know. *laughs* I’m just saying. After the whole L.A. got behind him so hard, does he not owe, you know, a little bit of a look here and there? Maybe do a song with somebody for their project?

Adam22 Questions Kendrick Lamar’s Intentions & Gratitude

“I mean, it doesn’t seem like the biggest ask,” Adam22 continued. “Why does everybody just allow Kendrick to just exist in this mysterious, quiet little box away from everybody? And then it’s like he’s not expected to hop on anybody’s project, to do any normal rapper s**t? I do think it’s a decent question. It would’ve been nice if Kendrick shouted out YG’s project, right? That would’ve been him behaving like a normal person, he’s so mysterious. I bet if he was still cool with Drake, Drake would’ve posted his album. They all showed up out of the goodness of their heart. It’s just kind of weird when you’re doing stuff for somebody who doesn’t want to return the favor, right?

“If Akademiks put out a documentary, and I was all up in the documentary, promoting the documentary, helped him out with the documentary. And then six months later, I put out a documentary… Crickets. Ak doesn’t shout it out, doesn’t post about it,” Adam22 concluded. “It’s pretty easy to post about something. I did a lot for you when you were in the exact same position. And you couldn’t return the favor? That makes me feel like this is kind of a one-sided friendship. Why do we not ask of Kendrick the same things that we would expect of, like, anyone else? I’m just wondering why they didn’t get something in return. It would’ve been nice. Yeah, I just think it’s weird.”

DJ Hed Praises Drake And Shocks Kendrick Lamar Fans & Haters In The Process

DJ Hed might’ve played at “The Pop Out,” thus picking a firm side in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, but he doesn’t only have negative things to say about the Toronto superstar. Moreover, he recently gave him some due flowers on HipHopDX‘s The Bigger Picture podcast with Elliott Wilson. As you can see in the clip below, the @djakademikstv caption for this clip is a pretty pro-Drizzy and anti-K.Dot one, which makes sense given Akademiks’ current beef with Hed. Nevertheless, the California native thinks that The Boy does deserve a lot of credit for his hip-hop contributions, despite the picture that Kendrick painted in his diss tracks.

“You know what?” DJ Hed’s remarks began on The Bigger Picture. “Thank you. Thank you, Drake, [for] what you’ve done to the ecosystem. We appreciate you. No, I’m not even throwing shade. Drake has done more for hip-hop than a lot of people give him credit for. ‘Cause he’s actively participated in the culture the whole time. There’s credit to be owed for that, you know what I’m saying? He also used his platform to benefit others outside of himself,” he concluded, with Jeremy Hecht asserting that “he has a family tree.”

A post shared by Akademiks TV (@djakademikstv)

This seems to be what Drake himself is trying to prove through his “100 GIGS” content drops, showing off his connection to the rap game over the past decade-plus. His combative new material hints at him wanting a “Game 2” with Kendrick Lamar, although we don’t know exactly what this “game” will look like. Will they have a sales battle for their next albums, or will it be another lyrical back-and-forth? Will they actually go at each other again or does Aubrey want to focus on winning “the long game” by staying as the top dog in the industry?

These are all big questions, and ones that DJ Hed himself doesn’t want to answer just yet. Furthermore, the whole reason why he clashed with DJ Akademiks is because he shut down Ak’s report that Kendrick Lamar will drop again soon. No matter what he or Drake choose to do next, it’s clear that this conversation is much less black-and-white than what many fans assume.

Kendrick Lamar Scores Yet Another “Not Like Us” Milestone As Drake Tries To “Win Game 2”

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” continues to keep up some momentum, even if many Drake fans and some haters alike are already tired of it. Moreover, it’s now officially eligible for five-times Platinum certification, as it has now sold over 5 million units in the United States alone. This is very impressive considering that the song has only been out for almost four months, but not surprising at all when you consider the massive impact of the Drake battle. Pretty much everyone agrees that, for better or worse, it was the song of the summer. And it will probably continue to shine throughout the rest of 2024.

Furthermore, this is partly due to the fact that Drake wants to “win Game 2,” as he stated on his IG burner account. We still don’t know if this actually means a full second battle with Kendrick Lamar, as his lyrical material as of late definitely references his various beefs this year. The more likely scenario is that the 6ix God will target his other opponents and try to win “the long game” with continued commercial and critical success.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Sells Over 5 Million Units

Nevertheless, we doubt that Kendrick Lamar will stay quiet for long, despite DJ Hed pushing back on new album speculation. Maybe it’s not a full-on project, but we can’t imagine that he won’t follow up this material with something big either this year or the next. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking, but considering the success of “Not Like Us,” it sounds like more of just a no-brainer business move. Yet K.Dot’s never been one to overtly succumb to commercial pressures, or to release music just for the sake of it.

As such, we have to be patient and see what he planned for his next move, as well as whether or not he will revisit Drake. Elsewhere, Kendrick Lamar also got some unrelated commercial achievements under his belt this year, such as the Diamond certification of “goosebumps” with Travis Scott. But no matter what goes down with this beef in the near future, the status of “Not Like Us” is one that fans can’t deny.

Baby Keem Trolls Kendrick Lamar With Hilarious Viral Meme Referencing Drake Beef

Kendrick Lamar is many things: a great rapper, a family man, an entrepreneur, and a bonafide anime villain that probably strokes his cat’s fur as his plan for world domination goes perfectly according to plan. This last interpretation is what many fans realized during his historic battle with Drake, and even his cousin Baby Keem agrees. Moreover, the pgLang affiliate retweeted a very popular Twitter meme about K.Dot: “Kendrick the type of n***a to disappear after the bus passes.” It’s funny to think about Kendrick witnessing all the memes around his Drizzy beef, but it’s even funnier to imagine Keem’s online trolling and participation.

Furthermore, this is the first “interaction” concerning Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar that we’ve publicly witnessed since… their joint Vegas performance that went down this February, maybe? Still, that doesn’t mean that the Melodic Blue creative’s name didn’t pop up during the great rap war of 2024. For example, a Kendrick reference track for Keem’s “BULLIES” resurfaced during this period, sparking more debate around ghostwriters and protégés that Drake fans were already engaging in extensively at the time.

Baby Keem Jokes About Kendrick Lamar, His “Boogeyman” Cousin

What’s more is that both Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar have big plans for the future… Or at least, that’s what most of us fans want to believe. First up is the former, who’s been teasing his follow-up to his 2021 LP for a while now. It seems like we’re closer than ever to its release, but without any official teases, singles, announcements, or promotions yet, it’s hard to tell exactly when or how it will manifest. Still, The Melodic Blue was so good that it earned a significant benefit of the doubt on our behalf, albeit one whose expiration date is dangerously close. I mean, it’s been three years… Will we have to get to five before we start rioting?

As for Kendrick Lamar, he supposedly has something big planned after his Drake beef, but that’s just hearsay from his camp. He’s literally done nothing more than just drop his OVO disses, announce his Juneteenth concert, and release the “Not Like Us” music video. As such, Baby Keem is probably right in assuming that the Compton lyricist would embody that one Spider-Man 3 meme to a tee. Let’s just hope that he also has that ability in the inverse, and that he will pop out again in the near future.
