Kanye West & Bianca Censori’s Penthouse Rent Costs $20K/Month While Rapper’s Mansion Remains Unfinished

Kanye West has been said to be facing serious financial struggles for some time now. Nevertheless, that’s not stopping the father of four from dishing out a reported $20K per month in rent. According to Radar Online, he and his wife Biance Censori have shacked up in West Hollywood. They’re renting a two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse not far from the recently established Yeezy headquarters on Melrose Avenue. “It’s a gorgeous apartment and the interior is very Ye. It’s a unique spot which is an architect’s dream,” an insider close to the couple dished of their home.

Prior to that, they were staying at the Nobu Ryokan hotel, all while Ye’s Malibu mansion remains uninhabited and reportedly rotting away. At the luxury hotel (which has a minimum two-night stay), the Yeezy founder and Censori were paying $2K a night. His mansion, which he purchased in 2021 for $57M, has been a hot topic lately, particularly after it was revealed that he dissolved his Yeezy Construction Inc. company in November.

At the time, West suddenly halted work on his home. Insiders reveal that the Japanese-inspired residence, designed by Tadao Ando, has since been completely gutted. While that project obviously didn’t work out as expected, the architect has received massive praise for the work he did on Jay-Z and Beyonce’s recently purchased California mansion. The $200M deal broke records in the state, where the power couple now officially owns the most expensive home ever purchased.

It remains unclear what the embattled artist plans to do with his property, but according to recent reports, his fortune is back on the way up as he’s allegedly already made a staggering amount from the continued sale of Yeezy at Adidas. Do you think Kanye West will ever finish his mansion? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Kanye West Is Now Facing An Assault Lawsuit Over An Alleged Phone-Throwing Incident With A Photographer

Earlier this year, a video surfaced in which Kanye West told a person to stop filming him. They refused, so West took their phone and threw it. There was a police investigation over the incident, which ended with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office saying that West wouldn’t face any charges. The story didn’t end there, though, as West is now being sued.

As Billboard reports, photographer Nichol Lechmanik has filed a lawsuit against West, accusing the rapper of assault, battery, negligence, and interference with the exercise of her civil rights. The complaint was filed in California Superior Court in Ventura County on May 31. In the suit, Lechmanik claims the incident caused her “great mental and emotional pain and suffering” and that she “anticipates incurring medical and related expenses.”

The suit says that Lechmanik was driving her car and filming Kim Kardashian as she exited Sports Academy in Newbury Park, California. At the time, she noticed West was “angrily confronting” a photographer on the street. The complaint noted, “Given Defendant Ye’s reputation for violence against photographers, his history of physically harming them, and based on his threatening body language, Plaintiff became fearful for the photographer’s safety.”

Then, West apparently approached Lechmanik’s car and “aggressively” said, “You all ain’t gonna run up on me like that.” When Lechmanik denied she was, West allegedly became “enraged,” “ripped her phone out of her hands,” and threw it “onto the street towards oncoming traffic.”

Lechmanik is requesting general and special damages, punitive and exemplary damages, civil penalties, and costs of the suit. She also wants an order enjoining West and “all persons acting in concert with him or acting on his behalf, from touching, striking, annoying, contacting, molesting, attacking, threatening, or otherwise interfering with […] the Plaintiff, and all persons similarly situated, to pursue the occupation of photographer.”

Ye Sued for Assault and Battery After Tossing iPhone of Paparazzi

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, may have to open his wallet after tossing a photographer’s phone into the street when she was filming.

The incident happened in January as Ye left one of his daughter’s basketball games with North West. With paparazzi following him, Ye pulled over to do something about it.

One of the paparazzi members at the event, Nichold Lechmanik, stated she was filming Ye as he ran the pockets of another photog, saying she was fearful of what the rapper and fashion icon possessed.

In a video, Ye could be heard saying, “You all ain’t gonna run up on me like that!” and “If I say stop, stop with your cameras.” Ye would snatch her camera iPhone and toss it.

Lechmanik’s partner was also in the car and stated she received a “death stare” from the rapper.

Lechmanik says not only was she traumatized, but she also lost out on money due to the incident. She is now suing the rapper for assault, battery, and negligence. She also wants an injunction from Ye from contacting any other photographer.

Kanye West’s “Ye” Turns 5

The summer of 2018 was Kanye West’s season. From the iconic Kid Cudi collaboration on Kids See Ghosts to his snapshot production on Pusha T’s critically acclaimed Daytona, ye converted the chaos of Kanye’s surroundings into where it goes best, the music. Of course, his messy life was predominately orchestrated by himself. Seemingly making an outlandish statement daily before the project’s release, fans had no idea what to expect leading up to ye. However, expectations certainly weren’t as high as they tend to be regarding one of the greatest creatives of our generation.

Ye sees the Chicago kid as personal as ever. Is it a finished product? Absolutely not. Completing ye over merely a few weeks, the album is a unique snapshot into his genius bipolar mind. Ye sounds like a sudden picture taken on a vintage camera, a rugged capture of his ever-changing world. While albums such as My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy or the recent Donda shoot for grandiosity, ye was exactly the opposite of that. Instead, the 23-minute and 43-second project shoots for conceptual simplicity. We see a magnum cover of the Grand Teton mountains of Jackson Hole. It exemplifies distance from the world he’s become so accustomed to. Looking back, ye was a standout moment in the career of Kanye West.

Ye Experienced A Chaotic Album Leadup

If there’s a good word to describe Kanye West’s life leading up to the release of ye, it would be disorder. He publicly donned a MAGA hat in the streets of Los Angeles. West ignorantly muttered that slavery was a choice and urged his followers to “stop thinking so much.” All of it seemed as if it was a purposeful self-sabotage of his image, a reinforcement of his inability to be canceled so as to solidify his God-complex image. However, ye was a pleasing reminder of his innate artistic talent behind his madness. In addition, its narrative dialogue starkly contrasted the egotistical mania he was putting out into the news. Instead, ye is vulnerable and, at times, self-deprecating.

Ye rambles about his bipolar mindset on album opener “I Thought About Killing You,” musing, “I think about killing myself, and I love myself way more than I love you, so…”. It’s a disturbing level of introspection for the audience to experience, specifically as the introduction to a project. However, its wild metamorphosis from trippy vocal sampling into the heavy drums of the track’s latter half perfectly reflects ye. One moment, he’s painstakingly bordering on suicidal tendencies. The next, he artfully depicts himself next to creatives such as Pablo Picasso. “Violent Crimes” sees Kanye reflect on his changing mindset surrounding women, stating, “‘Cause now I see woman as somethin’ to nurture / not somethin’ to conquer.” He’s growing and maturing, even if it often looks as if he’s doing the opposite.

Ye Is A Beautiful & Complicated Mess

However, ye certainly wasn’t met with widespread critical acclaim upon its release. Take this statement from Pitchfork‘s official review of the project: “But I can admit that after ye ended unceremoniously the third or fourth time, I put on ‘Family Business,‘ and I thought about the kid from Chicago who wanted to be the biggest rapper in the world, who now lives in an empty-looking concrete mansion in Calabasas, who has stopped trying.” In fairness, it wasn’t easy to earnestly digest deeply personal cuts such as the iconic “Ghost Town,” considering his offensive antics at the time.

In essence, ye is a beautiful mess. Five years later, fans who initially criticized the project continually find themselves returning to the album. Every piece of Kanye West pops up on the record. The mania and aggressiveness appear in the 808-induced “All Mine,” while “No Mistakes” throws it back to the coming-of-age tonnage of The College Dropout. Kanye West just wants “feel kinda free,” which seemed to be the undercutting factor of his detour out to Cody, Wyoming. From riding around on a fleet of Sherp ATVs to curating the Yeezy Campus, the escapist tundra of Wyoming has Kanye West’s idea of a therapy session culminating in ye.

Kim Kardashian Stopped Being Kanye West’s ‘Clean-Up Crew’ And Thinks He Needs To ‘Hit Rock Bottom’

In a new episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian is opening up more about the impact that Kanye West’s disturbing behavior has had on both her and their children.

“I’m stuck with this for the rest of my life, and I’m just so overwhelmed,” Kim said, noting that it “affects my kids.”

The conversation continues as Kim talks to her mother, Kris Jenner, in the emotional scene. “That’s the tragic part of the whole story,” Jenner responded.

“I still feel the need to not talk about it and protect it from my kids and I always will feel that way, but God, if people knew,” Kim continued. “I just would never do that to my kids. It just is really crazy.”

The reality star divorced West in 2021. Throughout last year, the rapper went on antisemitic social media rants and posted other troubling content. Despite the downward spiral, Kim told her mom how she’s trying to shield the four children from the headlines, particularly the oldest, North.

“She actually doesn’t know and that’s what’s so crazy,” Kim said. “When stuff is said, it’s a chain to my whole household. No TV, only Apple TV. I can’t risk an Access Hollywood […] or anything on the news coming up with their dad mentioned and they want to watch. I have to figure out a way to protect and so they still haven’t seen anything, but then I go into crisis mode.”

“Sometimes I feel like if he were to hit rock bottom, that’s his journey that he needs to figure out on his own,” she added. “I used to run around and call everyone behind his back, and be like, ‘It’s gonna be OK, it’s gonna be OK, don’t worry. Just give him another chance.’ I used to spend hours and hours and hours of my day to be the clean-up crew. I just don’t have that energy.”

Since their separation, Kim briefly dated Pete Davidson, and West got remarried.

Kanye West Court Battle May Continue As Adidas Starts Selling Yeezys Again

Kanye West may have the last laugh in the battle against Adidas, after all. Yesterday, Kanye won against the brand in court. The rapper has been engaged in a legal battle with Adidas for the past six months. The conflict began when Kanye publicly expressed his desire to end his deal with them. However, Adidas, recognizing Kanye’s significant financial value, was reluctant to let him go. Kanye then resorted to making anti-Semitic remarks, which ultimately forced Adidas to sever ties with him due to the financial implications. Obviously, in this day and age, it is not advisable for a company to associate with someone that makes the kinds of remarks that Kanye made.

Recently, it was confirmed that Adidas had frozen Kanye’s assets, including $75 million across his Yeezy bank accounts. Kanye fought to regain control of his assets. Yesterday, he scored a temporary win when a judge denied Adidas’ request for an emergency re-freeze. Adidas will now seek a normal asset freeze in the coming days, but it remains uncertain whether they will be successful in their efforts. Now, the company plans to begin selling off its backstock of Yeezys. There is, however, one caveat. They will be donating a portion of the proceeds to fight against antisemitism.

Adidas Uses Kanye To Fight Antisemitism

Adidas has announced a plan to sell the remaining inventory of Kanye West’s Yeezy sneakers. They will donate a portion of the proceeds to organizations working against discrimination, hate, racism, and antisemitism. The company’s CEO, Bjorn Gulden, stated that selling and donating the inventory was the preferred option among stakeholders. The benefiting organizations include the Anti-Defamation League and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change. Adidas is also considering additional releases of existing inventory.

Today, the plan went into action on Adidas’ official site, where they advertised the sale of “some of the remaining inventory.” They also highlighted the donation aspect. The products available include both existing designs and designs initiated in 2022 for sale in 2023. The announcement has no immediate impact on Adidas’ financial guidance for 2023. What do you think about the battle between Kanye and Adidas? Who do you think will have the last laugh in the end? Sound off in the comments below!

Adidas Is Back To Selling Kanye West’s Yeezy Shoes Months After They Ended Their Partnership With Him

Last October, Adidas ended its partnership with Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye, in response to several anti-Semitic comments he’d made. CNBC reported in February — and the likes of the Associated Press and Rolling Stone reported again at the beginning of May — that the abruptly severed relationship left Adidas with $1.3 billion in unsold Yeezy product. On May 11, Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden revealed the company’s plan to salvage what can be salvaged.

“What we are trying to do now over time is sell parts of this inventory and donate money to the organizations that are helping us and that were also hurt by Kanye’s statements,” Gulden told investors, as relayed by Complex at the time.

That plan came to fruition today, May 31. Adidas’ official website is headlined by Yeezy, advertising that “some of the remaining inventory” of his products are available on the brand’s app, Confirmed, and promising that a “portion from the sale of these items will be donated in support of the fight against discrimination, hate, racism, and antisemitism.”

An accompanying press release details that the benefiting organizations include the Anti-Defamation League and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change.

“The release will mark the first time that products have been available to consumers since adidas terminated the Yeezy partnership in October 2022,” the press release explains. “The products will be existing designs and designs initiated in 2022 for sale in 2023. Additional releases of existing inventory are currently under consideration, but timing is yet to be determined. Today’s announcement has no immediate impact on the company’s current financial guidance for 2023.”

“After careful consideration, we have decided to begin releasing some of the remaining Adidas Yeezy products,” Gulden said in a statement. “Selling and donating was the preferred option among all organizations and stakeholders we spoke to. We believe this is the best solution as it respects the created designs and produced shoes, it works for our people, resolves an inventory problem, and will have a positive impact in our communities. There is no place in sport or society for hate of any kind and we remain committed to fighting against it.”

The May 31 Yeezy drop comes one day after Billboard reported that Adidas’ request for an emergency order re-freezing of the $75 million held by Yeezy was denied by a federal judge.

Kanye West Steps Out With An Unrecognizable Bianca Censori In West Hollywood

Throughout his past romantic relationships, Kanye West has established a habit of styling his romantic partners. He famously dressed ex-wife Kim Kardashian in some of her most popular looks. Short-term girlfriends like Julia Fox and Chaney Jones were also spoiled by the rapper with designer goods. Now, he and Australian architect Bianca Censori have settled down together, and are once again redefining the rules of fashion with their bewildering outfits.

Not only did West’s wife pose nearly nude for his brand’s latest photo shoot, but they’ve also been attempting to popularize “sock shoe” footwear. The 45-year-old also seems to be taking notes from Tom Brady and Antonio Brown, as he’s been beefing up his stature with shoulder pads in many of his recent outfits. It remains unclear exactly what vibe Ye and Censori are going for. Nevertheless, they’ve certainly caught our attention, and are only continuing to hold it.

Kanye West and His New Wife Keep It Low Key

As TMZ reports, they spent their Memorial Day long weekend in West Hollywood, where West did nothing to conceal his identity from fans. Censori, on the other hand, seems fed up with the near-constant cameras around her, opting to cover everything but her eyes under a headwrap. The father of four donned dark pants and a graphic tee with a bright red design on the front. Bianca stood out beside him, layering a grey hoodie over mid-wash jeans and knee-high black boots.

The pair was leaving the Edition Hotel following a rooftop dinner when pictures were snapped. It’s not the first time the blonde beauty has gone to extremes to protect her privacy, and it likely won’t be the last. See paparazzi photos of Kanye West out and about in WeHo with an undercover Bianca Censori here. Would you recreate either of the lover’s outfits?
