JT Throws It Back To New Kali Uchis Collab In Sensual New Clip

JT, Kali Uchis, and El Alfa recently teamed up for a new song, “Muñekita,” and it’s exactly the reggaetón-heavy banger that such a collab suggests. What’s more is that its infectious rhythm and charismatic performances clearly inspire something in the City Girl’s hips- and so many others. Moreover, she recently uploaded a video on social media of her dancing along to one of the track’s slower “dembow” moments. In the clip, the Florida MC moves her hips slowly and sensually to the rhythm, leaving a lot of impressed fans in the comments, albeit some critics, too. “We can’t be listening to the same song she’s moving to,” one user jokingly wrote under the clip.

No matter what you think of those moves, you can’t deny that this is the kind of track that you don’t really care how you look when you dance to it. Furthermore, its different tempo switches and pitch-shifting plucks keep the energy on high all throughout. In addition, it’s just great for fans of hip-hop and Latin music alike to have another crossover banger in the repertoire. In one way or another, a lot of people who listened to this song discovered at least one new artist that will surely become part of their rotation.

JT Shaking Hips To “Muñekita”

While JT came through with a short verse, she still filled her contribution with a lot of bombast and confidence. In fact, she even drops some bars in Spanish, showing that she can hold her own in either context with ease. Also, there’s currently a lot of City Girls hype right now, since they’re back to releasing new music quite prolifically. They’ve even pursued their own careers in the meantime, with the 30-year-old releasing the single “No Bars.”

Meanwhile, with all that new music to consider, we’re sure that City Girls, Kali, and many more have plenty to soundtrack their dances with. It had actually been a long time since we got a crossover hit like this. Let’s just see how her dance moves evolve as she gets deeper and deeper into reggaetón. With that in mind, keep checking in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on JT.

Kali Uchis Kicks Off Her Spanish Music Era With El Alfa And JT On ‘Muñekita’

Earlier this year, Kali Uchis teased that she had two albums in the works — one in English and one in Spanish. Back in March, she released her third studio album, Red Moon In Venus. Tonight (August 4), it looks like Uchis is kicking off her Spanish era.

On her new single “Muñekita,” Uchis has teamed up with JT of City Girls and Dominican rapper El Alfa for a sexy summer anthem, delivering on the Latin flavor.

Uchis and Alfa ride various rhythmic beats as they switch throughout the song, offering raunchy lines throughout the song.

“Tu angelita es lo que necesitas / Dale, gata, dale, muñequita,” sings Uchis on the song’s chorus.

Alfa’s verse is also full of raunchy one-liners and ad-libs, leading to JT’s contribution, on which, she offers a “sana sana, colita de rana” benediction to her haters.

The song collaboration came about after Uchis had DM’ed JT and Alfa various times over the years. Uchis first showed the track to JT, who recorded a verse in Uchis’ home studio, and then later shared the song with Alfa, who made his contribution shortly after.

“I love bringing artists together that you’d least expect,” said Uchis in a statement. “El Alfa is a Latino legend and JT is someone I’ve admired forever. Both of them are known for their summer hits and high energy, so I’m incredibly excited to bring them together for a fun, sexy song like this.”

Kali Uchis & Her GFs Get High In The “Moonlight” In Her Magical New Music Video

During the first weekend of Coachella 2023, many patrons (and even fans tuning in at home), labelled Kali Uchis’ set as one of their favourites. Not only did the bilingual songstress tantalize the crowd with her ethereal vocals, but she also brought out an impressive roster of guests to help her. Among them were Tyler, The Creator, who brought plenty of energy to “See You Again,” as well as Omar Apollo and her boyfriend, Don Toliver.

As the Virginia-born starlet prepares to take the stage again, she has another gift for her listeners. Following the arrival of her Red Moon In Venus album earlier this year, Uchis has finally dropped off a music video for one of the tracklist’s most popular titles, “Moonlight.” The pretty and pink visual sees Kali linking up with friends like Cindy Kimberly for a slumber party, during which they snapped digital camera selfies and shared plenty of laughs.

Elsewhere in the new visual, we see Uchis looking as stunning as ever on the hood of a car while basking in the moon’s glow. “I just wanna get high with my lover / Veo una muñeca cuando miro en el espejo / Kiss, kiss,” she sings on the catchy chorus of “Moonlight.” We also see nostalgic dolls at the beginning of the footage, reflected in the lyrics, “Looking dolly, I think I may go out tonight / I just wanna ride, get high in the moonlight.”

It remains unclear if the same surprise guests we previously mentioned will be joining the 28-year-old for her set later today (April 22), or if she has another roster lined up for attendees to enjoy. Aside from making waves with her own performance, she also joined Kaytranada for his highly anticipated concert at the festival, which also saw the producer tap Aminé. Kali Uchis And Her Ladies Get All Dolled-Up In Her New ‘Moonlight’ Video

Ahead of another glamorous performance at Coachella, Kali Uchis has shared the video for “Moonlight,” a fan-favorite from her third studio album, Red Moon In Venus.

In the video for “Moonlight,” the camera zooms in on a dollhouse, in which, Uchis and a group of her lady friends are seen getting glammed-up with make-up, preparing Uchis for a special night with a certain somebody.

“I just wanna get high with my lover / Veo una muñeca cuando miro en el espejo / Kiss, kiss / Looking dolly, I think I may go out tonight / I just wanna ride, get high in the moonlight,” Uchis sings over a smooth, romantic track.

Later in the video, she is seen dancing on the hood of a car, as she is floating on top of a space river near the moon — fitting for an out-of-this-world performance. Shortly after, a Uchis makes a return to the dollhouse, peering through the window, as if up to something exciting.

Uchis will perform tomorrow night (April 23) on the Coachella stage. She is also set to kick off her Red Moon In Venus tour this coming Tuesday (April 25) in Austin, Texas. During select dates on her upcoming tour, Uchis will be supported by UK pop artist, RAYE.

In the meantime, you can watch the dreamy “Moonlight” video above.

Frank Ocean’s Headlining Set Was A Wildly Disappointing Close To Coachella 2023 But Fortunately Kali Uchis, Latto, And More Saved The Day

“It’s been so long,” Frank Ocean addressed the Coachella 2023 crowd, “and I have missed you.” Frank’s fans have missed him as well. The last time put on a live set was in 2019, but he hasn’t performed material from his acclaimed album Blonde since a few years before that. That’s why his headlining Coachella 2023 set was the most anticipated set of the entire festival and, after a bewildering and disjointed performance, fans were disappointed when it fell short of expectations.

People from all across the festival grounds started happily flooding to the main stage up to an hour before Frank was originally supposed to perform. But the energy began to die down when he was 15 minutes late to the stage… then 30… then 45 minutes. Finally, after making the crowd wait an hour, the stage lit up and dancers began walking in circles around a small cluster of instruments. The problem was that Frank himself was nearly impossible to see. He launched into a stripped-down rendition of “Novacane,” but a metal gate was blocking the crowd from seeing him from their vantage point.

He then transitioned into a soulful rendition of “Crack Rock” before the metal gate finally lifted. After singing an electric-twinged version of “White Ferrari,” Frank finally addressed the crowd. Giving some context to his reserved stage presence, Frank paid tribute to his late brother and explained what the performance meant to him. “These last couple of years, my life changed so much,” he said. Frank recalled fond memories he had of attending Coachella with his brother. “I know he would have been so excited to be here with all of us,” he continued. Frank also added how he used to try to avoid coming to Coachella, which might have been an explanation for his underwhelming performance. “I feel like I was dragged out here at the time because I hated the dust out here.”

When he did finally get to his hits like “Nike,” and “Nights,” Frank didn’t even perform. Instead, the songs played over the speakers while he sang along with the crowd. Overall, his set felt aimless and unplanned. There were long pauses between each song, making it seem like Frank was making the setlist up on the fly. He would walk off the stage for lengthy intervals, leaving the crowd wondering if he was going to come out with a guest or something else he had planned (hint: he didn’t).

Halfway through his performance, Frank’s set was interrupted by a DJ — who should have opened instead — and a twerking security guard. After about an hour and twenty minutes, Frank got back on the mic to say: “Guys I’m told it’s curfew so that’s the end of the show.” People in the crowd were confused and waited around until the lights officially shut off because they were convinced he was joking. Overall, the only redeeming part of Frank’s set was when he addressed his next album, which he made clear isn’t coming any time soon. “I’m here, because, it’s not because of a new album. It’s because — not that there’s not a new album — but there’s not right now.”

As festivalgoers flocked to the exit, nearly everyone could be overheard unpacking what a disappointment the show had been. “That sh*t was f*cking horrible,” I heard someone next to me tell their friend. Another woman said she was about to re-download Twitter, which she hadn’t had in nearly a year, just to “read the sh*t people are talking about the set.” The acoustic nature of his set would have been better suited to a more intimate environment — say, a venue with limited capacity — but not at the headlining spot at one of the world’s largest music festivals. Even with the confusion around what he was trying to accomplish with that performance, one thing is abundantly clear: People won’t be hounding Coachella for Frank to headline again any time soon.

Thankfully, not every performance was as unsatisfying as Ocean’s. Artists like Latto, Kali Uchis, and Dominic Fike made up for the headliner’s disaster. Latto brought all the energy out to her star-studded set at the Sahara tent. The rapper was able to hype up the crowd and feed off their energy, even inviting one lucky fan on stage to get up close and personal with her dancers. She kept everyone engaged with hits like “Soufside,” and “Big Energy” and brought out several guests; She invited TiaCorine to perform their unreleased “Freaky T” remix, then Lola Brooke came out for their collab “Don’t Play with It.” Finally, Saweetie surprised the crowd to deliver her verse in “Bitch From da Souf” and give a short, heartwarming speech, giving Latto her flowers and leading the crowd in an “I love Latto” chant.

Like Latto’s set, Kali Uchis was also a highlight of the day. She opened her main stage set with her viral song “Telepatía” before bringing Tyler The Creator out for their joint track “See You Again.” Omar Apollo was next to grace the stage, delivering their recent collab “Worth The Wait.” Then, Don Toliver — Uchi’s boyfriend — appeared to sing his verse in “Fantasy.”

Though he didn’t bring out surprise guests like Uchis and Latto, Dominic Fike’s Coachella 2023 also performance deserves some praise. The singer and Euphoria actor had fans screaming along to tracks like “Babydoll” and teased his next album, which he confirms is finished, with the unreleased track “Ant Pile.” He also ran through his just-released track “Dancing In The Courthouse,” which he thanked his fans for showing love to, before closing out the set with the breezy pop number “Why.”

Kali Uchis’ Coachella Set Featured Appearances From Tyler, The Creator, Don Toliver, & More

As expected, they saved the best for (almost) last. Ahead of Frank Ocean’s headlining set later this evening (April 16), Kali Uchis gave one of her best performances to date on the Coachella mainstage with thousands of patrons watching on. While fans surely would’ve been satisfied with just the bilingual songstress and her ethereal vocals, she didn’t disappoint with her roster of surprise appearances, which included “See You Again” collaborator Tyler, the Creator.

After satisfying hip-hop heads with the deluxe cut of his CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST album last month, the Californian brought plenty of energy to his performance. Their 2017 joint effort is the most-streamed title from Tyler’s Flower Boy project, and they’ve since worked together on “After The Storm” with Bootsy Collins. The Coachella crowd was obviously pleased with that, but little did they know, more was in store from Uchis.

Tyler, the Creator Joins Kali Uchis for “See You Again”

Omar Apollo was on deck to sing “Worth the Wait” with his friend shortly after the Creator left. The song appears on Uchis’ Red Moon in Venus album, which arrived in the first few days of March. Elsewhere on the 15-track effort she linked up with her boyfriend, Don Toliver, on “Fantasy.” The couple showed off their strong chemistry during the 28-year-old’s Coachella set, crooning the lyrics to their second joint release of 2023 so far. Other tracks the Virginia-born vocalist sang this weekend include “Moonlight,” “Papi Chulo,” and “Tattoo.”

Our first weekend in the desert has nearly come to a close, but it hasn’t been without its share of surprises. Kendall Jenner was spotted dancing in the crowd during Bad Bunny’s headlining concert, and Metro Boomin impressed attendees with a healthy list of guests. Among them was The Weeknd, who previewed new music – potentially from his upcoming HBO series, The Idol – while supporting his producer pal. Tyler The Creator Surprised Kali Uchis Fans During Her Coachella Set To Perform ‘See You Again’

Tyler The Creator made a surprise appearance during his friend Kali Uchis’s Coachella set, where the pair of frequent collaborators reunited to perform their 2017 hit “See You Again.”

https://twitter.comNariety/status/1647768877307416583

Uchis was also joined by Omar Apollo, who performed their collaboration “Worth The Wait.”

Kali had previously joined Tyler The Creator on his Call Me If You Get Lost tour after contributing to “See You Again” from his Grammy-nominated album Flower Boy. They reunited in 2018 for “After the Storm” from Uchis’ album Isolation.

Meanwhile, Apollo and Uchis first teamed up in 2020 on Apollo’s Apolonio single “Hey Boy.” They collaborated again in 2021 for “Bad Life” from Omar’s follow-up album Ivory, which dropped last year. “Worth The Wait” appears on Kali Uchis’s recently released album Red Moon In Venus.

Interestingly, Uchis was one of the surprise performers for another Coachella set. On Friday night, Kaytranada’s set included surprise appearances from Uchis, who performed their 2019 Bubba collaboration “10%” — which they premiered at that year’s Coachella — and Aminé, with whom Kaytranada is releasing their joint album Kaytraminé later this spring.

Kali last performed at Coachella in 2018 — and Tyler The Creator also popped out at that show.

You can see surprise appearances from Tyler and Omar Apollo in the clips above.

Kaytranada Brings Out Aminé, Kali Uchis At Coachella

Kaytranada took the Coachella stage last night, and fans were treated to some surprises. The producer already had people hyped, but the crowd had no idea what they were in for. True to the festival’s tradition of surprise guests, he brought out Kali Uchis. The singer performed their collab, “10%,” after Kaytranada had teased a snippet of her vocals. The event was live-streamed, and fans both in the audience and at home were thrilled by the guest appearance. Still, Kaytranada had even more in store for his fans.

In addition to the surprise appearance of Kali Uchis, Kaytranada also brought out rapper Aminé to perform with him. The rapper hyped up the crowd for the producer. He excitedly led them in a chant of “Kaytraminé,” a combination of the pair’s names. The name was flashing on the screen behind the duo as the set finished. The name might ring a bell for some. Last week, the pair hinted that it would be the name for a collaborative project between them.

Kaytranada + Aminé = Kaytraminé

Aminé and Kaytranada recently announced they were teaming up for an eagerly awaited collab. They announced the news in a teaser video shared on Instagram. While the video left much to the imagination, fans have already expressed their excitement in the comment section. Both Aminé and Kaytranada have been keeping fans waiting since their last projects dropped in 2021, making this collaboration highly anticipated. With their impressive track record of successful collaborations in the past, fans are eagerly anticipating the outcome of this project, whether it’s a single, an album, a mixtape, or something else entirely. The buzz around it is palpable, and fans are eager to see what musical magic Aminé and Kaytranada will create together.

Fans immediately noticed the post, commenting about how excited they were about the project. Scrolling through the comments on the video, it’s difficult to find a single negative one. “I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS,” said one user. “Peak music has returned,” another claimed. Seems like lots of people are looking forward to the collab. The Coachella performance was just a primer as we surely have plenty to look forward to from them in the near future. What do you think of Kaytranada’s Coachella guests? Sound off in the comments to let us know!
