Jamie Foxx Links Up With Wayne Gretzky

It’s been a tough few months for Jamie Foxx fans. The actor was suddenly hospitalized in April while on the set of his upcoming Netflix film, Back In Action. It was the latest in a long series of issues that had hampered production. Furthermore, the coverage of Foxx’s hospitalization was a mess, with Foxx seemingly both on the verge of death and recovering well. After many conflicting reports about his status, his daughter revealed in mid-May that he had been out of the hospital for several weeks. However, for the time being, Foxx continues to recover in private.

However, Foxx has begun to make public appearances in recent weeks. He has been seen at TopGolf as well as playing pickleball. Furthermore, John Boyega gave a positive update from the premiere of They Cloned Tyrone. “He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” Boyega said. “He’s doing well. And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return.” He continued: “I gave him the well wishes directly. I gave him all the well wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.” Furthermore, Foxx recently threw a party to celebrate his recovery. However, a picture promoting BetMGM on Foxx’s Instagram caused some controversy.

However, more images are starting to emerge from the betting platform promotional event. Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky shared a photo of him and Foxx at the event. “Great to be in Vegas working with @iamjamiefoxx and @betmgm. One of the best nights of my life with the greatest person. Big things coming soon…,” Gretzky wrote on Instagram. It echoed the caption that Foxx put in his own post, which also noted that there were “big things coming soon.”

It’s just the most recent celebrity link-up for Gretzky. At the NBA Finals, Gretzky posted a picture with rapper Lil Wayne. Gretzky, who remains the NHL’s all-time leader in points, goals, and many other categories, shared the image to Instagram. “2 Wayne’s” read the caption as Gretzky towered over Wayne.

However, Foxx’s public appearances should not be an indication that the actor is at 100% health. “Jamie is doing so much better and he’s starting to feel like himself again. He’s not 100 percent and is still taking things easy, but he’s definitely on the road to recovery,” a source told Us Weekly. Furthermore, additional sources clarified the situation with Page Six. “[He has a] huge support system around him and his friends and family are making sure that he doesn’t take on too much,” the source explained.

Furthermore, Foxx is Foxx is “feeling really good and is excited to get back to work once the time is right,” the source added. “He is getting the best care and working hard to recover right now, but he is still not himself,” a source previously told PEOPLE. Furthermore, the source noted that the actor’s inner circle is still tightly guarding the cause of his sudden hospitalization. “He has the tightest circle around him,” the source explained. Speculation has run wild about what put Foxx in the hospital, including a number of unsavory theories related to the COVID-19 vaccine. Furthermore, particularly incendiary claims made by columnist A.J. Benza on the web show Ask Dr. Drew led to a rep for Foxx speaking out. The spokesperson called the claims “completely inaccurate.”

Jamie Foxx To Produce Luther Vandross Documentary

Jamie Foxx, who continues to recover from an undisclosed medical emergency suffered in April, has reportedly signed on as a producer for a documentary about Luther Vandross. Foxx will produce through his company Foxxhole Productions. Furthermore, Colin Firth’s Raindog Films will also be involved. The film will be directed by acclaimed documentarian Dawn Porter. Porter’s previous work includes films about anti-abortion TRAP Laws (Trapped, 2016) and former White House photographer Pete Souza (The Way I See It, 2020). Her most recent work was 2021’s Rise Again: Tulsa and the Red Summer. The film followed journalist DeNeen Brown’s investigation into the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, also known as the Black Wall Street Massacre.

Of course, Vandross himself needs little introduction. The iconic singer and producer was a staple of the music industry for many decades. He had a #1 album in 2003 with Dancing With My Father. Furthermore, he had a #2 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Endless Love”, which he performed alongside Mariah Carey. However, Vandross lived a fascinating life beyond his music. Vandross’ sexuality, for example, was a topic of great debate for many years. He was confirmed to have been gay in 2017 by his close friend Patti LaBelle. However, Vandross sadly passed away from a heart attack at just 54 in 2005.

“Luther is one of our G.O.A.T.s,” Foxx said in a statement. “He’s one of the greatest singers in the history of music. It is truly an honor to be a part of the team to help bring this incredible story to the masses.” Porter also spoke on Vandross. “Like so many, I have always loved Luther’s music, but I had no idea of the breadth and scope of his artistry,” said Porter, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I think people will be surprised at how much he accomplished in his tragically short life. It is a joy to be able to share his true story.”

Foxx has previous links to Vandross as well. Foxx provided vocals for Kanye West and Twista’s 2004 song “Slow Jamz”. Foxx’s chorus directly references Vandross. Furthermore, the song also samples Vandross’ 1981 song “A House Is Not A Home”. The song was one of Vandross’ signatures. However, it itself was actually a cover of a 1964 Dionne Warwick song. However, the documentary is not the only film being made about Vandross’ life. There is also a biopic reportedly in the works, though few details are available about that project.

Jamie Foxx Impresses During Pickleball Outing

Jamie Foxx has been through a whole lot over the past few months. Recently, he experienced a health scare that led to him being hospitalized. This subsequently led to a lot of speculation surrounding what happened to him. However, his family was able to keep the specifics under wraps. To this day, we still don’t know exactly what happened. Of course, this has led to a bunch of conspiracy theories from people who want to spread a narrative. Either way, Foxx will tell us what happened when he is good and ready.

Despite conflicting reports about his recovery, it seems as though he is doing very well. Over the course of the last week, we have seen Foxx out and about on numerous occasions. Firstly, we saw him on a yacht where he could be seen waving to fans. From there, Foxx actually helped out a fan who had dropped their purse. Needless to say, the legendary actor is doing well for himself and is more comfortable going out in public. Overall, this is just great to see and we hope to see more of him soon.

As it turns out, Jamie Foxx is even participating in some physical activities. He was recently out with a few friends where they participated in a game of pickleball. Pickleball has become a huge phenomenon in the sports world as of late. A lot of celebrities and athletes are even investing in their own teams. Although we do not have a video of the game, TMZ reports that it was a friendly game of doubles. Once again, it is a shining example of how Foxx has made great strides in his recovery.

DJ Envy says that Jamie Foxx is doing the right thing by staying off of social media and keeping his medical concerns private. The Breakfast Club host discussed Foxx’s situation during a brief interview with TMZ in New York City on Tuesday. The comments come after Foxx made his first public appearance in months over the weekend.

“I think Jamie did what he was supposed to do,” Envy said. “I think a lot of times we’re so into social media, we’re so into what people think, and we have to be the first to respond. But, I think Jamie was healing. I mean, he was rehabbing. Whatever happened with Jamie, we don’t know. But, it’s just good to see the brother out. It’s good to see him on the yacht. It’s good to see him enjoying life because the way they made it sound at one time was that it was almost over for Jamie. So, the fact that he’s out and about enjoying life is a great thing.”

Envy went on to discuss Foxx staying off of social media and invited him to come on The Breakfast Club when he’s doing better. He said: “And, I we all need to see how he did that on social media. He didn’t tell nobody anything on social media. He just kind of did his own thing and when he wanted to heal and tell the world, he did. So salute to Jamie. Jamie Foxx had the world worried after suffering a reported stroke on the set of his latest Netflix film. For weeks on end, there were questionable reports about the multi-talent’s health coming from anonymous sources. Each of them was quickly challenged by Foxx’s family and close personal friends. Amid all the hearsay, fans have been eagerly waiting for their favourite actor to show his face, rather than just send a message out via social media, to let them know he’s okay.

As we kicked off the new week, the 55-year-old gave them their wish. First he was seen waving at those watching on during a boat ride with loved ones down the Chicago River. TMZ obtained the footage on Sunday (July 9). We’ve since also seen Foxx sharpening up his athletic skills at TopGolf. While playing a round, the “Blame It On The Alcohol” hitmaker was swinging with confidence, shutting down any remaining rumours that his condition wasn’t improving after his medical emergency in the spring.

More recently, he did his part to give back by returning a woman’s lost purse in Chi city. “Mom lost her bag in Chicago today,” the original poster wrote along with a clip of the Texas-born star getting back into his black SUV after making the local’s day and giving an update on his health. “Jamie [Foxx] found it and brought it to her and he said he feels good y’all, God is good .”

It was reported at the end of June that the “Gold Digger” singer’s mansion is undergoing some serious renovations. At the time it was speculated that the results of Jamie Foxx’s medical injury have caused him to have to seriously alter his lifestyle, but recent footage obviously shows him out and about in as great of condition as could be expected given the circumstances.
