Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg are ready to hunt vampires. Netflix has announced the new movie, Day Shift, which will arrive on the streaming service on Friday, August 12.
In the new movie, Jamie Foxx stars as a hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

Martin Lawrence and Jamie Foxx were two of the biggest comedians in the 1990’s. They were both known for their comedic range and ability to play different characters, with Foxx showcasing his skills on In Living Color, and Martin on his own sitcom Martin. Two of their more popular characters, Wanda and Shenehneh were fan favorites and in a recent interview, Martin Lawrence revealed that the two characters were supposed to have a movie together.
While on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Fallon asked Lawrence if there would ever be a Martin reboot. Lawrence said he doesnt think they could recapture what they did in 1992, but would love to do a movie based around Shenehneh.
“I think, well, you know, the Martin show was like catching lightning in a bottle and I don’t think we can redo that again,” he said. “I wouldn’t mind working with the cast again on something but I don’t think we can do that again.” Fallon said that a movie would be “like the Martin Cinematic Universe,” to which Lawrence replied that he “would love to see a movie with Sheneneh.”
That’s when Lawrence said that he and Jamie Foxx were supposed to do a movie with Shenehneh and Wanda. “We were supposed to do a movie with Sheneneh and Jamie Foxx with Wanda, but that never came about,” Lawrence added. “If we could ever get that together, I think y’all would love this.”
Award-winning entertainer Jamie Foxx talks about music and acting history as the first guest on the premiere episode of the Tank and J. Valentine hosted podcast, R&B Money. Premiering at number-one upon release last Wednesday (June 1), the new R&B podcast is brought to you by iHeartRadio and Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Effect.
“FIRST EPISODE OF THE @rnbmoneypodcast is UP on the @blackeffect ! Of course, we kicked it off with THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIMES JAMIE “MUTHUFIKIN” FOXX!!! @iamjamiefoxx It’s LIT!!.. R&B MONEY!!,” captioned Tank on an Instagram post previewing the podcast starring Jamie Foxx.
A clip from the podcast of Foxx, 54, discussing a time he was with an unrevealed intoxicated high-profile actress mistaking him for NBA champion Rick Foxx went viral on social media last week. Along with telling the mistaken identity story, Foxx, Tank and Valentine discussed their longtime friendship, Foxx’s music and film career, legendary party stories, and adventures including legendary stars, ranging from R&B legend Brian McKnight to boxing icon Mike Tyson.
In music, Jamie Foxx and Tank collaborated on Foxx’s 2x platinum-selling debut album, Unpredictable (2005), and the platinum-selling follow-up album, Intuition (2008). Tank has released seven albums in his solo career.
Outside the new podcast, Tank is in album mode with the release of his “final” album coming soon. Currently promoting the upcoming album’s lead single “I Deserve,” Tank will be releasing the album’s second single in the J. Valentine-featured “Slow” this Friday (June 10). For daily updates on Tank, follow the hit-making singer/songwriter on social media.

Jamie Foxx probably has years’ worth of Hollywood stories after being in the industry for over 3 decades. Jamie recently shared a story involving “a very prominent actress,” cocaine, and being mistaken for Rick Fox, while being featured on Tank and J. Valentine’s new podcast R&B Money.
“I ain’t saying no names,” Jamie said. “But I was in a hotel room with a very prominent actress and she was doing cocaine. I wasn’t, I wasn’t, I was not doing it. I don’t do that because of my religious beliefs.”
Foxx continued his story, saying how the whole night, the “prominent actress” had thought that Jamie was former Los Angeles Lakers player, Rick Fox.
“[But] She does the cocaine, she says ‘I’m a bad mother,’ and then she goes, ‘Wow, I didn’t think I would be in this room doing cocaine with Rick Fox.’ She thought I was Rick Fox the whole f*cking night bro. She thought I was Rick Fox I was like, ‘I’m not light skin with good hair like this n*gga.’”
Maybe she got confused because of the similar last names.
Foxx is the first interview in the new weekly podcast. According to the pod’s description, R&B Money will be “Highlighting everything from Marvin Gaye to Pink Sweat$, R&B Money has produced an exciting space for artists & executives in the game to reminisce with exceptionally compelling storytelling while building a place of discovery for the fans.”
Dave Chappelle would like to make one thing clear: Busta Rhymes was not the one who folded Isaiah Lee like a pretzel backstage after Lee tackled him during his show at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday. Reaching out to TMZ via his publicist Carla Sims, Dave insisted that his statements in the immediate aftermath of the attack were just jokes.
After shrugging off Lee’s initial tackle, Chappelle had returned to the stage — along with Jamie Foxx, and later, Chris Rock — to address the bizarre incident, saying, “I been doing this 35 years, I just stomped a n**** backstage,” joked. “I seen Busta Rhymes, he was like, ‘That’s how you do it, god.’” He claimed that Foxx and even fellow comedian Jon Stewart jumped in.
But perhaps worried that any legal counsel Lee pursued could use the statements as evidence in a civil case against the comedian and his security, he made sure to point out that none of the entertainers he mentioned had laid a finger on Lee. Considering his state as he was loaded into an ambulance later, they probably didn’t even need to.
Meanwhile, Chappelle has been joking about the situation ever since, as well as revealing Lee’s reason for accosting him in the first place (sorry, 50 Cent, it had nothing to do with Chappelle’s trans comments). As for Lee, he’s been charged with four misdemeanors, so hopefully, he feels it was worth both the pain — again, did you guys see his ARM!?!? — and potential jail time for the attention his attack got for his displaced grandmother and/or struggling rap career.
After more than two years, Roddy Ricch is finally delivering a new album with his upcoming project Live Life Fast. It’s an effort that will hopefully match the success of his debut album Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. The 2019 project spent multiple weeks at No. 1 while also carrying a song, “The Box,” that tallied eleven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. Altogether, it’s a high bar that the Compton native will hopefully reach again. Just hours before he releases the project, Roddy returns to unveil its complete tracklist.
Through 18 songs, listeners will catch appearances from 21 Savage, Alex Isley, Bibi Bourelly, Fivio Foreign, Gunna, Jamie Foxx, Kodak Black, Takeoff, and Ty Dolla Sign. These are all guest appearances that Roddy previously revealed, but he did so without sharing the album’s complete tracklist until today. Now, thanks to an update to the album’s pre-save page on Apple Music, we’ve received full song titles in addition to knowing when these artists will appear beside Roddy throughout the album.
Most of the collaborations on Live Life Fast feature one guest except on two occasions: “Hibachi,” which places Kodak Black and 21 Savage with Roddy, and “Slow It Down,” which finds Ty Dolla Sign and Alex Isley working some magic together.
