Overall, this was a very close fight that saw Fury win by a split decision. One judge had Paul winning the fight, while Fury had the other two. Ultimately, this was all that he needed in order to get win. It was a huge victory for Fury, who needed to prove himself against Jake. There was this sense that Fury could not be taken seriously, but now that he has finally gotten past Paul, he can look ahead to bigger and better things. However, it just so happens that he may want to go up against Jake again, after all.

Mike Coppinger of ESPN is now reporting that Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are closing in on an agreement for a rematch. As it turns out, this rematch would take place in the month of July. This would give both fighters about four months’ worth of preparation. Overall, this would be a huge redemption opportunity for Paul. However, this could be a risk for Fury who could set back his entire career with a loss to Jake. The storylines truly right themselves at this point.
For many boxing fans, these fights are simply not very interesting. Although, for others, this is a good gateway to get into boxing. As long as Paul can continue to attract big pay-per-view numbers, these fights are going to keep happening, regardless of Jake’s record. Tommy Fury’s father, John Fury, claims that Jake Paul owes him $2 million following his son’s victory over the YouTuber in their recent fight. John explained the situation in a video shared to social media, this week. He says that the two had a gentleman’s agreement that the losing party would forfeit their earnings from the fight to the other party. John admitted that there is probably not much legal action he can take to get the money from Paul, but he insisted the loser do the right thing.
“Good morning world, Jake Paul and family,” John Fury began the video. “Back home, well rested, heads back on business. Jake, you know what I’m going to do, we had a deal mate, we had a handshake. We said we’d box for free if we got defeated.” From there, he asks him to step up and pay his bill. “Please do not come out with all the contract bullshit,” he adds. “I can hardly read and write.”

Tommy defeated Paul by a split decision (74-75, 76-73, 76-73) back on February 26. The fight marked the first loss for Paul in his boxing career. Tommy continued his undefeated streak, advancing to 9-0. After the fight, Tommy remarked that the win solidified his place as his own fighter absent of his brother, Tyson Fury.
“For the past two years, this is all that has consumed my life. Broken rib. Denied access. Everybody thought I was running scared. Tonight, I made my own legacy. I am Tommy Fury,” Fury said at the time. “All through these past two years, I had a dream and a vision that I would win this fight. And no one believed me. Now I can stand up and everybody can take note. It’s my first main event at 23 years old. I had pressure on my shoulders, and I came through.”

However, Logan hasn’t won any of his fights. He always either loses to KSI or fights Floyd Mayweather in a non-scored exhibition. Against the likes of Tommy Fury, he could very easily get pummeled.

Because Paul has developed a far-reaching fanbase that goes beyond actual lovers of the sport of boxing, and timelines have been flooded with Fury hate. The British fighter had his first professional bout in 2018 and, since that time, has gone undefeated. “Everybody knew when he fought a real boxer what was gon’ happen,” said Jackson. “Bro, y’all got to stop. This man got knocked out! Give Tommy Fury his love instead of keep posting, ‘Jake still knocked two people down.’”

Over the weekend, YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul went eight rounds against Tyson Fury’s half-brother, Tommy Fury. Fury would end up winning in a split decision despite being knocked down in the last round, making the bout Paul’s first loss.
During the post-fight press conference, a reporter told Paul that Drake had bet $400k on him to win and asked if the “Drake curse” played a role in his loss.
Paul responded by jokingly blaming Drake for his loss.
“Did you hear about Drake betting $400,000 on you tonight and do you feel like that affected you through the Drake curse?” she asked.
Jake Paul responded: “Fuck! This is Drake’s fault! Drake, bro! Why you do this to me! Nah, it’s my fault, but $400,000 is nothing to him.

For those unfamiliar with the Drake curse, athletes or teams tend to lose after Drake takes a photo with them or shows his support. The Drake curse started in 2013 after the Toronto Raptors named Drizzy their global ambassador then gained a reputation for choking big games. The next year, Drake showed support for Kentucky during March Madness but would end up losing to Wisconsin. The curse would continue until recent when of course the Raptors won the 2019 NBA finals, and after Drizzy shoes his support for Tyson Fury during his 3rd match with Deontay Wilder, which he won.

Paul was soon to gain success in his professional boxing career as intended when he had his second match just a year later in 2019 against YouTuber and boxer AnEsonGib, also known as Gib. His next match was against professional basketball player Nate Robinson, 38, as a minor undercard in a Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. exhibition match where boxers do not compete for competition, but rather to showcase their skills as a boxer. When his next match was supposed to be against professional boxer Tommy Fury, Woodley stepped up to face Jake Paul when Fury pulled out for medical reasons. In a rematch of Paul vs Woodley, Paul took home another boxing win in a 6th-round KO. Looking to face Fury for reasons beyond boxing ability, a feud between Paul and Fury quickly gained steam before their highly anticipated match on February 26, 2023. Though Paul would come to defeat UFC champion Anderson Silva before facing off against Fury, Paul unfortunately had his first loss in a close match against Fury, resulting in a split decision. Though Paul may have lost the fight, he is confident in his luck against Fury for a rematch in the near future — and why not, he made $30 million for his contendership.
Jake Paul’s fight against Fury essentially doubled Paul’s net worth from $30 million to $60 million. Though he is no longer undefeated in the ring, his loss seemingly has rounded him out even more as a better boxer than before. After his fight with Fury, Paul says, “I made it farther than I ever thought I would, and beyond. In the past, Davis and Paul have actually traded shots on social media. Overall, Davis feels as though Paul is a fake boxer and that what he does is actually detrimental to the sport as a whole. Subsequently, following Jake’s loss, Davis decided to sound off on social media with his feelings on it all.

From there, Davis continued to make fun of Paul with a series of retweets. Additionally, he clapped back at a fan who had some words for him. This is where Tank wrote “You have 3 different cuts homie..a low cut..braids AND a fade I will never take you or ya words seriously!” Needless to say, Davis will not be gaining respect for Jake Paul, anytime soon.
For now, Davis should simply focus on his upcoming April fight against Garcia. This could very well end up being the biggest fight of the entire year, and fans are very pumped. Although the fight was close, Paul ended up losing thanks to a split decision from the judges. However, there are some people out there who believe Jake won. Either way, Paul is no longer undefeated, and he will have to contemplate what he is going to do next. Prior to the match, Paul made an interesting bet with Tommy Fury. Essentially, if Fury won, Paul would double Fury’s earnings. However, if Paul won, then Fury would not get a single dime. It was an interesting proposition that will now see Fury getting a whole lot more cash. Despite this, it isn’t like Paul is going to the poor house over this.
