Rap Fans Debate Jack Harlow’s Place After He Declared Himself The Best White Rapper Since Eminem On ‘Jackman’

Rap is a boastful art form. Nobody gets in the game to be the 30th-best rapper. But sometimes, rappers make claims so bold that even seasoned hip-hop take pause to consider. In this case, it’s Jack Harlow who stakes his claim as the best white rapper since Eminem on his new album, Jackman.

In “They Don’t Love It,” Jack raps, “The hardest white boy since the one who rapped about vomit and sweaters / And hold the comments ’cause I promise you I’m honestly better than whoever came to your head right then.”

That’s a tall order, considering not only Eminem’s stature in hip-hop but also the sheer number of rappers Harlow believes he’s leapfrogged to land in such a position. The list includes predecessors like El-P and Mac Miller, peers like G-Eazy and Lil Dicky, and left-field picks like Rittz, Wynne, Yelawolf, and more.

Naturally, Jack’s line is going over as controversially as he undoubtedly intended it to with fans putting in their own arguments agreeing or disagreeing with his claim.

And while, truthfully, “best white rapper” is very much subjective, you have to admire the moxy Jack shows in making such a claim — and the smarts. There’s no better promotion than some good, old-fashioned water cooler talk. Don’t be surprised to see Jackman do numbers.

“Jackman”: Jack Harlow Is The “Hardest White Boy” Since Eminem, He Says On New Album

Jack Harlow’s sophomore effort, Come Home The Kids Miss You arrived in 2022 to mixed reviews. Thankfully, he seems to have remedied that with his latest work, which landed today (April 28) in the form of a 10-track album called Jackman. While he worked with names like Pharrell Williams, Drake, and Justin Timberlake on his second project, this time around the Kentucky native opted to go the featureless route, though he did include one particularly noteworthy comparison to Eminem.

As Complex notes, the White Men Can’t Jump actor has previously cited Slim Shady as a major influence of his. “I grew up listening to Eminem,” he told GQ in a 2020 interview. “I idolized Eminem, big influence of mine while growing up. I mean he’s so dope. But also obviously… I remember when I was ten or eleven, I would wear like a toboggan, and hoodie and headphones around my neck. Cause I wanted to feel like him.” Clearly, Harlow now does feel like the 8 Mile star, as he let us know on “They Don’t Love It.”

Jack Harlow Compares Himself to Eminem on “They Don’t Love It”

“Ya boy’s strivin’ to be the most dominant ever / The hardest white boy since the one who rapped about vomit and sweaters,” the 25-year-old spits on his new album’s second title. “And hold the comments ’cause I promise you I’m honestly better than whoever came to your head right then, ” his braggadocious bars continue. “They ain’t cut from the same thread like him / They don’t study, doin’ work to get ahead like him / They don’t toss and turn in the f*ckin’ bed like him.”

In 2021, Jack Harlow connected with Eminem on the “Killer” remix with Cordae. Though they didn’t get to meet, the younger lyricist said that they shared a phone call which “meant the world to [him].” He added, “He gave me a lot of props that any artist would love to get. Sometimes, the best gem is just somebody you admire, letting you know who you think you are,” while speaking with Billboard at the 2021 MTV VMAs. What’s your favourite track from Jackman? Jack Harlow Tells Harrowing Stories On “Gang Gang Gang”

Jack Harlow is an artist who has been through some transformations over the years. Overall, the Kentucky artist has been on the receiving end of some criticism due to these changes. It really all started with his smash hit “What’s Poppin.” The track blew up, which subsequently led to a mainstream arc for the artist. Fans did not take too kindly to this, and his last album was panned by critics as a result. Needless to say, there was this sense that Harlow needed to go back into the lab and find himself.

On Friday, Jack Harlow dropped a 10-track album called Jackman which many felt was going to be make or break for him. As it turns out, this album is a huge “make.” Consequently, fans have been singing his praises on social media. The production on the album is second-to-none, all while Harlow offers some fantastic bars. Moreover, there are tracks where he flexes his storytelling ability. “Gang Gang Gang” is definitely one of those tracks.

Jack Harlow Is Back In A Big Way

With this effort, we hear Jack Harlow tell the story of two friends who seemed like good kids. However, upon going back to his hometown, he is told that they have gotten into some serious trouble. Overall, it is a harrowing story that showcases how some people turn down dark paths. It is some of Jack Harlow’s best work to date, and many fans are agreeing with this assessment.

Although the album is only 10 tracks, “Gang Gang Gang” provides enough lyrical content for fans to be impressed by. Whether Harlow decides to ride this hype into a new project soon, remains to be seen. Regardless, this is a great step forward in the rapper’s career. Let us know what you think of this new song, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

Truthfully, it’s family ’til it can’t be, gang ’til it ain’t
Twins, but it depends, brothers until somethin’ is uncovered
Dawgs until the lifting of the fog
“I always got you” turns into “Well, I never thought you”

Jack Harlow Has Fans Singing His Praises With “Jackman”

Jack Harlow has been criticized quite a bit over the last year or so. Overall, this is due to the fact that his last album was a bit underwhelming. Despite a song with Drake, people felt like Harlow was mailing it in. The album was in one ear and out the other for a lot of people. However, earlier this week, Harlow shocked people as he announced a new project called Jackman. The cover art featured him shirtless, which subsequently led to some roasts on social media. Although, the album is finally here, and it’s glorious.

If one thing is for certain on this album, it is that Jack Harlow has redeemed himself. For instance, he decided to strip things back and only opt for 10 songs. Moreover, there is only about 24 minutes worth of material here. Simply put, Harlow has cut the filler and is looking to make a statement. In fact, this is reminiscent of some of his earlier albums, like Loose. Below, you can see the tracklist and how it actually has zero features.

Jack Harlow Opens Up And Gets In His Storytelling Bag

Immediately following the release of the project, Jack Harlow was hit with a plethora of praise from his fans. Additionally, even his detractors couldn’t help but hit him with some praise. The album has some great moments, especially on the song “Gang Gang Gang” in which Harlow raps about how good people take wrong turns when they grow up. Overall, it is impressive to see Harlow’s storytelling skills on full display. “Jack Harlow very clearly had something to prove on his new album Jackman… I can faithfully say that he has indeed proved it,” one user wrote.

“Gang Gang Gang is actually so insane. a real-life realization that the best people in your life grew up in the worst ways possible. jack harlow becoming an artist in front of our eyes,” another said. Needless to say, it appears as though Jack Harlow has changed the narrative for the better. Hopefully, he can drop another new project, sometime soon. Jack Harlow Still Has Several ‘Questions’ As He Is Coping With Stardom

Less than 48 hours after announcing his third studio album, Jackman, Jack Harlow has dropped the album, which features another promising set of bangers. While his previous two albums boasted viral hits and chart-toppers, making Harlow a household name in both the real of hip-hop and pop, Jackman features Harlow at his most introspective and self-aware.

The album’s closing track, “Questions,” features Harlow reflecting on his rise to stardom, and dealing with the responsibilities that come with fame. He also attempts to disabuse himself of internalized misogyny and challenges his fanbase to do the same.

“Why I treat my brother like he ain’t my only brother? / Why I gotta treat my manager like I’m above her? / Why I gotta get so intimate with my lovers? / Why I gotta cheat and make her question if I love her? / Why am I so fly? why am I so skeptical?,” he asks on the song’s opening verse.

It’s gearing up to be a busy season for Harlow. While this album is likely to have the summer on lock, Harlow is also dipping his toes in the waters of acting. Next month, he will star in his acting debut alongside Sinqua Walls in a remake of White Men Can’t Jump.

Jack Harlow Releases New Album, “Jackman”

Jack Harlow is gearing up for a film debut just a month after the release of his last album. The rapper-turned-actor will appear in the new Hulu remake of the classic film White Men Can’t Jump. As such, it makes for an unexpected but fitting time for him to announce a surprise album titled Jackman. Harlow only announced the album a few days ago, so there was very little information before it dropped. We knew nothing. There was no information about the album’s production, features, tracklist, or even vague themes. His last album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, was not received so well. Perhaps the reason Harlow decided to keep things under wraps is that he didn’t want to deal with expectations.

This week, Jack Harlow has been giving back to fans quite a bit. More specifically, he’s been giving back to fans that live in his native Louisville. Harlow was spotted at 8 different high schools on Thursday. He surprised fans in an effort to promote his new album. The students seemed stunned to see him. They were able to take pictures with the rapper and even had some time to hang out with him. It makes sense that Harlow would want to do something like this on the eve of his new album’s release. He’s returning to his roots for an album that feels very human and very real.

Jack Harlow Gets Real

One thing is for certain – this album definitely does not have any “First Class”-style songs on it. It does run extremely short with 10 songs coming in at only 25 minutes long. However, anybody who wanted something that felt extremely authentic from the rapper will be very pleased with the new release. Every song feels dreamy but the lyrics keep it grounded. He speaks on many important topics like white privilege, race relations, the realities of fame, and even finding out that your friends are horrible people.

One of the most surprisingly honest songs on the album is the opening track, “Common Ground.” As a white rapper, Jack Harlow is often set apart from his contemporaries by rap fans. However, the rapper speaks very openly about the realities of white privilege and obsession with black culture in white suburbia. “White girls squattin’ tryna get that a*s poppin’ / Caught back-talkin’ to their mom and dads often,” Harlow raps. “Recitin’ rap lyrics about murder and cash profit / Get to feel like a thug but don’t have to act on it.” It’s a refreshing look at the lack of “common ground” between communities and how one community’s culture is co-opted, dissected, and copied by the masses.

Quotable Lyrics:

Business interns takin’ Molly, then Percs
Tramplin’ on top of bodies in dirt
Condesendin’ suburban kids growin’ up to be rap journalists
Writin’ urban myths about who they think is the best urban kid
And who the worst is
And who’s authentic
And what the real Hip-Hop is, and who’s all in it

Jack Harlow’s Shirtless ‘Jackman’ Album Cover Has Sparked Some Hilarious Jokes And Comparisons Online

Jack Harlow has kept a relatively low profile in the past few months, at least as it relates to music. Instead, the “Industry Baby” rapper has seemingly poured himself into his budding movie career. The musician is set to start in White Men Can’t Jump remake, amongst a few other projects. So, the announcement that Harlow would be releasing a new album, Jackman, tomorrow, April 28, was a total shock to fans.

After their surprise wore off and without many details to go off of, social media became hyper-fixed on the gritty album cover in which Harlow is posed shirtless in an alley. In the comment section, the semi-appropriate response to a thirst trap is to respond with something equally thirsty. However, instead of a fleet of smitten ladies lining up to fawn over the rapper, a plague of jokes has flooded social media.

In the last 24 hours, Harlow has been compared to Drake’s adorable son Adonis, the American Dad alien Roger, and more.

Jack Harlow’s New Album ‘Jackman’: Here’s Everything We Know So Far

Jack Harlow is less than a year removed from his last album and only a month away from his film debut. So, perhaps that makes it a perfect time for him to announce a surprise album, Jackman, just a few days before its release.

Unlike many releases, this truly does feel like a surprise; we don’t know much about the production, features, tracklist, or themes of the album — although it might be safe to assume that Jack has a chip on his shoulder about the lukewarm reception of Come Home The Kids Miss You. His last album was perhaps a little too forward-looking for fans who haven’t quite decided that they approve of him yet, giving many fans reason to write him off.

So, don’t be surprised if he goes back to the introspective, lyrically-focused vibe of his debut, That’s What They All Say — or eschews the thoughtful songs for a more accessible, party-rap style to win fans to his side. Obviously, the most fun outcome is if he doubles down on the throwback sounds of Come Home… and brings the early 2000s all the way back. We’ll find out soon enough.

Here’s everything we know about Jackman so far.

Jack Harlow Roasted Online For Shirtless Album Cover

Jack Harlow is one of those artists that is either loved or hated. For the most part, Harlow gets a lot of love. Although, his latest album left some people feeling as though he didn’t put his best foot forward. Overall, Harlow has a ton of talent, and he has gone through some interesting transformations. If you listened to him before he blew up, you would know that his sound was quite different. Some want him to go back to that sound, while his new fans prefer what he is doing now. No matter what, he remains a chart-topping artist.

Consequently, fans have been wanting some new music. Interestingly enough, Jack Harlow came out of nowhere today and revealed that he had a new album coming out called Jackman. He hasn’t released a lead single, so this revelation came as a surprise. However, in just two days, we will have some new music from Jack Harlow, which is a cause for celebration. As for the album cover, Harlow could be seen in an alley somewhere with trash cans in the back. Additionally, he is shirtless on the cover.

Jack Harlow Reveals His Album Cover

As you can imagine, the shirtless picture that is his album cover has become quite controversial. Already, there have been a ton of reactions to it on social media. One user wrote, “man just used a random shirtless picture as an album cover? I’m streaming anyways.” However, not everyone is being as nice about it. “The trash behind being a preview of what the album will sound like,” another person said. Meanwhile, another fan questioned, “worst album cover of all time?”

Needless to say, a lot of the reactions so far have been very harsh. However, this is par for the course when it comes to Twitter. Most people aren’t very nice when it comes to the Internet. That said, it will be interesting to see what this album will sound like. Let us know what your expectations are for this Jack Harlow project, in the comments section below. All Of A Sudden, Jack Harlow Has A New Album, ‘Jackman,’ Coming Out Super Soon

Less than a year after releasing his buzzy sophomore album, Come Home, The Kids Miss You, Jack Harlow is gearing up for his third studio album. Today (April 26), Harlow has announced his third major-label album, Jackman.

Jackman is set to arrive this Friday, and given the fact that the notice comes two days ahead of its actual release, no prior singles have been released or announced yet.

While we don’t know much to expect from Jackman, it’s not unlikely that the tracklist will boast some potential viral hits. Harlow certainly has the track record to prove it, as songs like “What’s Poppin’” and “First Class” garnered much attention by way of TikTok. In an interview with British GQ last year, Harlow lauded the platform, and credited to it much of the success of his music.

“Almost all big songs blow up on TikTok,” said Harlow. “Now, some songs are literally rooted in some dance challenge that blew it up. But some songs go big, and as soon as they go big they’re gonna be big there, because it’s what kids are listening to. That’s where kids are; sorry.”
