Taylor Swift Fuels New Music Rumors By Linking Up With TDE Producer Sounwave

Taylor Swift does not stop. She’s been one of the hardest-working musicians of the 2020s. Between her new albums and the re-recording of her old albums, it’s any wonder she has time to tour. Things seemed to have cooled down after the less-than-stellar reaction to her last album, though. Swift hasn’t hinted at any new music, or announced re-recording plans. Her longtime producer, however, started cranking the rumor mill on September 18. Jack Antonoff posted a series of photos on Instagram, and one of them featured TDE producer Sounwave.

The black-and-white photo dump sees Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff and Sounwave occupying the same studio space. Sounwave is alone in his photo, but the background make it clear as day that he was at the sessions being documented. The only real clue that fans have regarding the session is a time stamp with the date December 21, 2023 in the corner. This is a crucial piece of information. Taylor Swift dropped her last album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April. It would be easy to dismiss the photo of Sounwave as being from the Poets sessions, but the producer is not listed anywhere on the album’s credits.

Taylor Swift Worked With Sounwave On “Midnights”

The music that Taylor Swift and Sounwave made in December has not yet seen the light of day, which is why Swifties think there’s a new release around the corner. Jack Antonoff is very much a partner in crime when it comes to giving the fans clues. His posts are often teases of what’s to come, so the chances of a Sounwave photo meaning nothing are low. Besides, Sounwave has an established working relationship with both Antonoff and Swift. The TDE producer is part of the supergroup Red Hearse alongside Sam Dew and Antonoff. He’s also produced smash hits on multiple Taylor Swift songs dating back to 2019.

Sounwave is credited as a producer on Taylor Swift’s “Lover Boy.” His biggest contribution to the Swift catalog came in 2022, though. He is all over the pop star’s album Midnights, co-producing singles like “Lavender Haze” and “Karma.” This collaborative dynamic proved to be a two way street in 2024. The TDE veteran produced Kendrick Lamar’s diss song “616 In LA,” and he enlisted none other than Jack Antonoff to help him out. Given that Lamar’s opponent, Drake, had previously referenced Swift on the “Taylor Made Freestyle,” the link up seemed just as intentional as Antonoff’s new Instagram post.

Kendrick Lamar Plays 4D Chess With Drake By Including Taylor Swift’s Producer On “6:16 In LA”

Kendrick Lamar delivered a scathing takedown of Drake on the song “Euphoria.” This was released on Tuesday, early in the morning. Overall, fans couldn’t help but be mesmerized by just how much of a hater Kendrick truly is. After all, he has been gearing up for this beef for about 10 years now. However, no one could have predicted just how battle-ready he is. In fact, on Friday, Kendrick decided to double down with a new track called “6:16 In LA.” It was a bold move, albeit one that is paying off in the eyes of the fans.

Now that this new song has been released, fans are looking for some hidden meanings. As it turns out, Kendrick has given fans plenty to analyze. In fact, the producers of this new song are drawing quite a bit of attention. As you can see down below, Sounwave and Jack Antonoff are responsible for this song. This is very interesting as Antonoff is known for being Taylor Swift’s main producer. With Drake roasting Kendrick for his proximity to Taylor, it seems as though Kendrick is trying to be a bit cheeky here.

Kendrick Lamar Is Quite Literally “Taylor Made”

It is one of those easter eggs that you cannot help but laugh at. Furthermore, it is too much of a coincidence to simply dismiss. At a quick glance, it seems like this is all very calculated. Kendrick has never done things just to do them. There is always a reason and motive behind everything he does. With “6:16 In LA,” that could not be any clearer.

Let us know what you think of Kendrick Lamar including Jack Antonoff as a producer on the song, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that this is a solid easter egg that will get fans energized? How do you believe Drake is going to respond to all of this? Jack Antonoff Rips Kanye West On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” With Continued Diaper Jokes

Jack Antonoff brought up the topic of Kanye West while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night. In doing so, he explained why he doesn’t like working with men in the music industry and accused the Vultures rapper of wearing diapers. The conversation arose after Kimmel listed off Antonoff’s most famous collaborators, all of whom were women.

“I think men… There’s two people that I think are are almost too over-sensitive to even function, and it’s men and members of the music industry,” he explained. “The amount of sensitivity… it’s sort of like watching Kanye. By the way — and Jimmy, you might like this because I know that you have your own relationship with the right and how you interact with them, and you’re much closer to how I see these things than other people. I don’t like going to people and, ‘You do this, you do this, blah blah blah,’ because that’s what they want, you know, this sort of type of over-sensitive man. So I just do more of this, like… like if I saw Kanye, I would run up to him and be like, ‘The diaper… your diaper is so full, we have to change your diaper. Your diaper needs to be changed, there’s a huge problem.’”

Antonoff previously labeled West a “little cry baby b*tch” in a viral post on Twitter from January. Speaking with the Los Angeles Times the following month, he reaffirmed that opinion while praising his collaborator, Taylor Swift. He elaborated that West “just needs his diaper changed so badly.”

Dua Lipa, 21 Savage, Kylie Minogue, And More Musicians Made The ‘Time’ 100 Most Influential List For 2024

Time unveiled its 2024 list of the 100 Most Influential People, spanning actors, athletes, directors, political figures, and others dominating the public conversation. As expected, many musicians made the list this year. Dua Lipa received a cover honor with a bio crafted by Patti Smith.

“She moves with a lightness in a heavy world — bold, playful, and self-aware,” Smith wrote about the “Houdini” singer. “She is thoughtfully outspoken for the oppressed and displaced. She founded an influential editorial platform, Service95, to cover cultural topics and address humanitarian concerns. She believes in family, is grateful to her parents, and supportive of her siblings.”

21 Savage received his honor from Burna Boy, who said: “I trust my gut when it comes to my music and collaborations, and I find myself naturally drawn to artists like 21 Savage — those who remain grounded in their convictions and consistently defy the constraints imposed upon them. Like 21, I know what it’s like to rise above challenging beginnings, and it makes his success all that much more remarkable.”

Kylie Minogue also made the list this year, likely after the success of her single “Padam Padam.” “Kylie creates a space where everyone is safe to be themselves,” Coldplay’s Chris Martin shared about her. “When I look at her I feel hope. She’s proof there are humans who don’t judge.”

Other prominent musicians who made the Time 100 list this year include Jack Antonoff, Fantasia Barrino, Leslie Odom Jr., and James McBride.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Jack Antonoff Is Still Talking About Kanye West Wearing Diapers, But Now He’s Doing It On ‘Kimmel’

To be clear: As far as we can gather from publicly available information, Kanye West does not wear diapers. That hasn’t stopped Jack Antonoff from jokingly making that assertion about Ye, though. He did so in a Los Angeles Times interview from February, and he did so again yesterday (April 16) on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

The discourse started when Kimmel rattled off a list of some of Antonoff’s collaborators, all of whom were women. He jokingly asked what Antonoff has against men, and then more seriously wondered if there’s something that makes him more inclined to work with female artists over male ones.

Antonoff attested that he works with a lot of men, too. He then went on to try to explain his perspective to Kimmel, and after a couple of unsuccessful attempts at getting Kimmel to understand, he eventually said:

“I think men… There’s two people that I think are are almost too over-sensitive to even function, and it’s men and members of the music industry. The amount of sensitivity… it’s sort of like watching Kanye.

He then compared that mindset to Kimmel’s famously antagonistic approach to Donald Trump and his supporters, assessing that, like Kimmel, he prefers to “up the trolling” instead of being “overly offended.”

Antonoff’s band Bleachers also performed “Tiny Moves” on the show, by the way, so check that out below.

Jack Antonoff Doubles Down On Kanye West Diss: “[He] Just Needs His Diaper Changed”

Jack Antonoff is continuing to diss Kanye West. Speaking with the Los Angeles Times for a new interview, the record producer reaffirmed his opinion that Ye is a “b*tch” and added that he “just needs his diaper changed so badly.”

As for whether he would ever collaborate with the rapper, Antonoff remarked: “It’s been a long time since I would’ve taken Kanye’s call. I’m so incredibly bored when someone doesn’t have the sauce anymore, so they go elsewhere to shock. It’s just a remarkable waste of space.”

The topic of West arose while speaking on Antonoff’s relationship with Taylor Swift. “I’m a little b*tch sometimes,” he admitted to the outlet. “But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.” He added that questioning Swift’s talent “is like challenging someone’s faith in God. You just don’t go there.” He also spoke about defending Swift amid criticism from Blur frontman Damon Albarn back in 2022. Albarn had accused Swift of not writing her own songs, but later apologized for the comments. Check out Antonoff’s tweet calling West a “little cry baby b*tch” below.

Jack Antonoff Just Maybe Might Possibly Not Be A Big Fan Of Kanye West, Who He Dubbed A ‘Cry Baby B*tch’

With his various antics and controversies in recent years, Kanye West hasn’t exactly endeared himself to a lot of people. It appears that among those who potentially might not be among West’s biggest supporters is Jack Antonoff.

His band Bleachers has a new self-titled album coming out on March 8. Meanwhile, yesterday (January 23), West announced that his and Ty Dolla Sign’s upcoming album Vultures is now a three-part project, with volumes currently set for release on February 9, March 8, and April 5.

Antonoff appears to not love that he and West share a release date now: This morning, he tweeted, “kanye on bleachers release date is hilarious little cry baby b*tch.”

Worth noting is that West has delayed the release of Vultures multiple times now (which he’s done for a bunch of his previous albums, too), so there’s a decent chance West and Antonoff might not even end up releasing on the same day.

Antonoff’s latest tweet comes after his 2022 X (then Twitter) masterwork, when he tweeted, “kanye a little b*tch.” This followed West saying some antisemitic things, and Antonoff, who is Jewish, presumably didn’t care for that. Pair that with the fact that West and Antonoff collaborator Taylor Swift don’t have the best history and it makes sense why Antonoff isn’t a Ye appreciator.

HER Covers Sly And The Family Stone’s ‘Dance To The Music’ For The Latest ‘Minions’ Soundtrack

If you engage with pop culture on any level at all, you likely know that there’s a new Minions movie on the way. While your reception of this news largely depends on how you feel about the Minions as characters — and whether or not you have kids, the determining factor in how likely you are to end up in a movie theater to see the little yellow creatures on July 1 — there is one universal good that comes with the new film: Its soundtrack.

For whatever reason, the Despicable Me cinematic universe has always had absolutely stellar music. While some of that music gets run into the ground — even Pharrell got sick of “Happy” — Illumination, the studio behind Gru and his gibberish-speaking allies, undoubtedly churns out banger after banger for their films from covers to original songs.

This is, in part, because they secure some great collaborators for them. While Pharrell worked on the soundtrack for Despicable Me 2, the soundtrack for Minions: The Rise Of Gru is produced by Jack Antonoff, featuring contemporary artists covering 1970s soul, funk, and pop hits. The latest one to surface is a cover of Sly And The Family Stone’s signature hit “Dance To The Music” performed by the multitalented HER.

Listen to HER’s cover of Sly And The Family Stone’s “Dance To The Music” above. The full soundtrack, which also features Brittany Howard, Brockhampton, Caroline Polachek, Diana Ross, Gary Clark Jr., Jackson Wang, Kali Uchis, RZA, St. Vincent, Tierra Whack, and Thundercat, is also out on 7/1 via Decca and Verve.
