Drake Responds To A TikTok Poking Fun At His Songwriting: ‘F*ck Ya’ll I Really Be Saying Some Sh*t’

Drake is no stranger to internet culture. For over a decade, lines from his songs have spawned internet hashtags like “#YOLO,” as well as several Instagram captions. Not to mention, he has to be up-to-date, given that he’s an executive producer on HBO’s Euphoria. Earlier this week, a TikTok user shared a clip of himself imitating Drake’s singing and songwriting style.

The TikTokker’s imitation is uncanny, matching Drizzy’s vocal stylings, rhyme scheme, and cadence nearly to a tee. Of course, Drake caught wind of the video and shared his thoughts on the matter.

“F*ck ya’ll I really be saying some shit,” said Drake in an Instagram story sharing the TikTok video. The rapper appeared to be a good sport about the video, as his story contained several laughing and crying emojis.

Earlier this month, Drake dropped his seventh studio album, Honestly, Nevermind, filled with EDM and house-inspired dance tracks. On Monday, he was seen filming a video for “Sticky,” a cut from the album. Social media star 2Rare is believed to make an appearance in the upcoming visual, as he was seen on set.

Also on Monday, Billboard revealed that the 21 Savage-assisted “Jimmy Cooks” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it his 11th chart-topping single.

PinkPantheress And GoldLink Get To Dancing Through Their Remix Of Drake’s ‘Massive’

Drake’s new album Honestly, Nevermind has earned all types of reactions from his peers and fans. Questlove called the album a “gift” and added, “Only people not wit the program are people who don’t move their bodies. That ain’t sexy yo [shrugging emoji].” Vince Staples spoke about the uniqueness of the album and noted that he “did that in 2017.” Regardless of the reviews that the album has received, Honestly, Nevermind still topped the Billboard 200 to become Drake’s 11th No. 1 album and it also broke Apple Music’s dance album record for most first-day streams. Now, other artists are remixing tracks from the project.

The first pair of artists to do so is GoldLink and PinkPantheress who joined forces for their own take of “Massive,” one of the more popular records from Honestly, Nevermind. GoldLink leads the way with a timid entry that’s follow-up by a brief beat break. With additional production from Scottish producer Sam Gellaitry, GoldLink returns to the song filled with energy. Later on, PinkPantheress makes her with entry with her soft vocals for a solid contribution to the song.

You can listen to GoldLink and Pantheress’ remix of “Massive” above.

Fake Drake Challenges Real Drake To $1 Million Boxing Match, Promises To Change Name If He Loses

Drake

Fake Drake has made headlines as of late, simply for looking very similar to the real Drake. He was recently thrown out of a club in Memphis for apparently looking like Drake. It looks like he is still trying to cash in on his 15 minutes of fame, this time by challenging the real Drake to a boxing match.

In a video, fake Drake, also known as Izzy Drake, challenges the Honestly, Nevermind rapper to a $1 million boxing match. If he loses to the real Drake, Izzy promises to change his name.

“It’s your boy Izzy Drake, OVO tings, you already know we outside. I just signed with Celebrity Boxing,” Izzy Drake said in the video. “August 27th, I’m calling Drake out for a friendly boxing match. If I win, you gotta sign me to OVO you gotta give me a million dollars. If you win, I’ll change my name. It’s an OVO ting, you already know.”

Drizzy Drake has yet to respond to Izzy Drake’s challenge, and it is unlikely that he will. Fake Drake made similar comments while on the We In Miami Podcast, saying that he wanted $1 million and an OVO deal.

BLEU’s single “You’re Mines Still” was one of the biggest singles of 2020 and it not only plugged the young star with a deal but a substantial paycheck.

BLEU pulled up on DJ Akademiks’ Off The Record podcast and spoke about how the Drake-featured single threw him into a different tax bracket when it came to label negotiations.

Prior to the release of the remix, BLEU had secured a couple of independent deals with EMPIRE. After it was released, the price for his musical services flew up along with his status on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Just to put it into perspective, as soon as the Drake record dropped, I was having bidding wars between $8 and $9 million,” BLEU told Ak.

He would reveal that led to his loyalty with EMPIRe because they doubled back to deliver more money, citing “a major label’s not finna do that.”

DJ Drama Defends Jack Harlow And Drake’s Video For ‘Churchill Downs’ After PETA Criticized It

At the beginning of last month, Jack Harlow released his sophomore album Come Home The Kids Miss You which included the Drake-featured track, “Churchill Downs.” Some weeks later, a video for the song was released and it featured both rappers enjoying their time at the 2022 Kentucky Derby which takes place at the racetrack Harlow named the song after. The visual was later criticized by PETA in a statement. “Jack Harlow and Drake have chosen to glamorize horseracing with their new ‘Churchill Downs’ video,” they wrote. PETA also asked the rappers “to donate the song’s proceeds toward caring for Thoroughbreds discarded by the industry.”

Nearly a month after that statement was delivered, DJ Drama, who signed Harlow to his Generation Now label defended the “Churchill Downs” video following a run-in with TMZ. “No horses were harmed in the making of the video for sure,” he said. “They might have to talk to the Kentucky Derby about that. We were just on location. [The] Kentucky Derby been going on for a long time — don’t go after us.”

In more recent news, DJ Drama’s response comes after he appeared alongside Harlow during his performance at the 2022 BET Awards. Harlow performed “Poison” with Lil Wayne and surprised the world by bringing out Brandy for “First Class” to end the set.

Drake Sells His YOLO Estate For A Reported $12 Million

Drake’s used to breaking records, seeing success, and more or less printing money, but even he can’t have it all. After listing his “YOLO Estate” in Hidden Hills, California for $14.8 million dollars this spring, he finally closed a deal last week for only $12 million, according to TMZ. I kid, I kid.

Drake originally put up the three-home property for sale at $22.2 million, with the bulk of that coming from the biggest house, which has a 25-seat theater, full-sized basketball and tennis courts, and a horse stable on 12,500 square feet. TMZ reports that celebrities interested in the property included Britney Spears and Caitlyn Jenner, while the two smaller houses went for $11 million to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. So it turns out that Drake actually did get to his target total, which likely explains the discount on the big house. The buyer remains anonymous.

The Toronto superstar has had a similarly successful week overall, with his new album Honestly, Nevermind landing at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving him his 11th No. 1 album overall. In addition, he racked up his 11th No. 1 single thanks to the album’s 21 Savage collaboration “Jimmy Cooks,” while every full song from Honestly, Nevermind (excluding the intro) appeared on the Hot 100.

“It’s all good if you don’t get it yet. That’s what we do! We wait for you to catch up. We in here, though, we caught up already. On to the next. My goodness!”

– Drake on “Honestly, Nevermind”

It’s fair to say they get it now Drake. Drizzy’s new album Honestly, Nevermind has placed three singles in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Of those three, Drake has took the No. 1 spot with the 21 Savage-assisted “Jimmy Cooks.”

“Jimmy Cooks” is the more traditional single of the Drake album, leaning on his normal formula of a bravado bar, Day 1-loving banger. However, two additional singles crashed the Top 10 party, “Sticky” arrived at No. 6, and “Falling Back” hit No. 7.

“Jimmy Cooks” is produced by Vinlyz, Tay Keith, and Cubeatz and becomes Drake’s 11th No. 1 single. His last effort to hit the top was “Way 2 Sexy,” which featured Future and Young Thug from the 2021 Certified Lover Boy album.

Drake launched 13 tracks into the list this week.

If you like Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind or not, there is no denying The Boy. The first full Dance album from drake will debut on top of the Billboard 200.

According to Billboard, Honestly, Nevermind debuts with 204,00 album-equivalent units in the first week. The debut makes Drake the fifth act with more than 10 No. 1 albums. He trails The Beatles (19), JAY-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen (11), and Barbra Streisand (11).

Honestly, Nevermind has 250,23 million on-demand official streams with 11,000 album sales and TEA units of 2,000. The album has the fourth-largest streaming week for an album in 2022. The highest-streamed single on the album is “Jimmy Cooks,” featuring 21 Savage.

Drake’s new Dance album Honestly, Nevermind was released last weekend and has been quite polarizing. Some people love it, while the other side of the spectrum appears to be confused as to why Drake made it. Then there are some, like Drake himself, who argue those who don’t like it just don’t get it. You can find J. Cole on the support side.

Cole hit Instagram and shared a screenshot of the song “Liability” and revealed “Man. This album is phenomenal. Point blank.”

Drake Sells Hidden Hills “YOLO” Estate For 12 Million

Drake Sheds a Tear as Kanye West Performed "Runaway"

Drake’s YOLO estate has been on the market for a minute. 2 of the 3 homes sold back in March, leaving the main compound up for grabs.

But it looks like Drizzy was finally able to sell the last home to an unidentified buyer for $12 million, way under the nearly $15 million asking price. The main compound consists of 12,500 square feet, and includes six fireplaces, a wine cellar, and a 25-seat theater in addition to a recording studio.

After buying the property over a decade ago, Drake transformed the tudor-style home into a party house, equipped with basketball courts, tennis courts, swimming pools, a movie theatre, an 80-foot waterslide, and a grotto and full bar, with a 2,000 square foot master bedroom hidden behind a bookshelf.

The trio of houses went on sale back in March and attracted the attention of Caitlyn Kenner, Britney Spears, and others, but Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford purchased 2 of the 3 homes for $11 million just a month later.

In the same month that Drake put the estate up for sale, he purchased a 20,000-square-foot property in Beverly Crest. However, neither home is as grandiose as the 50,000-square-foot Toronto mansion nicknamed “The Embassy.”
