Usher Calls Being Single “The Hardest Thing” He’s “Ever Had To Do”

Usher’s back in full promo and music mode these days, dropping a new single with 21 S*vage and Summer Walker and enjoying his Las Vegas residency. Recently, to talk about upcoming plans, a new album, and all that’s going on in his life, he sat down for a cover interview with VIBE magazine. Moreover, the R&B superstar reflected on a lot across his storied career, including the warring sides of his personality and what his experiences have taught him. However, he also backtracked on famous lines from “Confessions Part II,” and did so to many fans’ amusement on social media. They thought that the most difficult challenge in Mr. Raymond’s life was telling the girl she loves that he’s having a baby with a woman he barely knows, as the song goes.

Jokes aside, Usher said”the hardest thing that [he’s] ever had to do” isn’t that, but rather just being single. “The idea of creating a life with someone is what I would like to do, maybe because I didn’t have or didn’t see that,” the 44-year-old remarked. And I get to remedy that idea by having an incredible partnership. I can then have the thing that I ultimately wanted to see.”

Usher Reveals His Toughest Challenge

Overall, it seems like this obstacle in the crooner’s way is due to the fact that he doesn’t like to be alone. Of course, there are very few people out there who don’t want some company at least some of the time, and it’s about as relatable as Usher can be as a massive entertainer. Still, it’s definitely something that he keeps close to his chest, because his live shows certainly haven’t lost any of their luster no matter his relationship status. In fact, he communicates that longing quite well for audiences, and always keeps things compelling.

Meanwhile, other press runs of his also centered around relationships- but not his own. While speaking to PEOPLE, the Southern heartthrob spoke on the Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson drama that came up after he serenaded the former at his show. He clearly didn’t mean anything by it, and hopes that people will mostly remember the good time that they had. For more news and the latest updates on Usher, keep checking in with HNHH.

Cellski Recalls Bun B Defusing T.I. & Lil Flip Feud From Becoming “War”

Cellski says that Bun B once defused a tense situation between T.I. and Lil Flip that nearly broke out into “war.” He recalled the incident during a recent episode of the No Vultures podcast.

“Bun B — he pacing and shit,” he said in a clip posted on Friday. “[He] walked up to the truck, like, ‘Hey man. T.I. up there with hella n****s, and he talkin’ about taking some shots at you. I don’t think y’all should perform.’ And we all confused and shit.”

He continued: “So Flip like, ‘Man, somebody need to go see what’s going on.’ So I hop out of the truck, run up on the stage — mind you, T.I. up there with hella n****s — and he go, ‘Yeah, I heard Lil Flip in the building. Tell that punk-ass n***a to come up to the stage. I run back to the truck, and I’m like, ‘Man, he up there talking hella shit, bro. What you wanna do?’ I’m like, ‘Fuck that, we need to perform.’ Bun like, ‘Hell nah.’ So Bun made the decision to get up outta there. […] Daddy was being real with y’all. He was like, ‘Which one of these n****s is really gonna be ready to go to war with you?’”

Flip and T.I. infamously had beef for years throughout the 2000s. It wasn’t until 2013 that they finally laid it to rest with the help of J. Prince. Check out Cellski’s recollection of a tense moment during the feud below.

Cellski Reflects On T.I.-Lil Flip Feud

Back in 2021, Lil Flip entertained the idea of participating in a Verzuz matchup with T.I., although he admitted he’d need a “real nice bag.” “A lot of people ask that,” he said at the time, regarding the idea. “I don’t know. It’s possible, but if Verzuz want me to do something, man, Imma need a real, real big bag, ’cause somebody makin’ some money off of that. Somebody gettin’ some money. You know what I mean? But uh, yeah, it’s possible. It’s gon’ take a real nice bag.”

Ne-Yo Shares His Controversial Take On Gender

During a recent interview with Gloria Valez for VladTV, Ne-Yo shared his take on gender. The artist explained that though he doesn’t mind others choosing to identify how they please, his problem begins when he’s called to use people’s pronouns. He compared people identifying as anything other than their assigned sex to identifying as a “goldfish.” As expected, the clip has managed to get the attention of social media users. It’s now sparked a bit of a debate, with commenters arguing about whether or not Ne-Yo’s in the right.

“I came from an era where a man was a man and woman was a woman,” he told Valez. “It’s not my business,” Ne-Yo continued, “but it becomes my business when you try to make me play these games with you.” He went on to discuss parenting, claiming that it’s parents’ responsibility to make decisions for their kids. “I feel like parents have almost forgotten what the role of a parent is,” he explained. “If your little boy comes to you and says ‘daddy I wanna be a girl,’ you just let him rock with that?” Ne-Yo asks, “When did it become a good idea to let a 12-year-old make a life-changing decision for themselves?”

Ne-Yo On Gender And Parenting

For obvious reasons, there were many social media users bothered by his hot take. “Let parents raise their kids however they choose,” one Instagram commenter says. “What happened to that?” Another writes, “He lives a double standard lifestyle.” Some other commenters came to his defense though, claiming he’s speaking “straight up facts.” However one looks at it, it remains obvious that Ne-Yo doesn’t mind dipping his toe in a bit of controversy.

Recently, the singer was also spotted holding hands with two different women. Some social media users have even been comparing him to Nick Cannon as of late, as he recently showed off a photoshoot with his seven kids.

City Girls, Currensy & Fivio Foreign Join Stacked Episode Of “Drink Champs”

N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s Drink Champs podcast is one of the most watched and beloved hip-hop media series today- and that’s just when there’s one guest on the show. 50 Cent Is Thirsty For Helen Mirren: “I Don’t Give A F**k… She’s Sexy”

We all have our celebrity crushes; some are common, others are very niche, and some we might have a hard time explaining. However, considering beauty standards and gut reactions online, 50 Cent has no such shame when discussing the stars he finds beautiful. Moreover, the New York rap legend recently sat down with Men’s Health for a broad and very entertaining interview. Sure, they spoke on hip-hop’s 50th anniversary; his career in music, business, and more; and his fitness journey. But the most juicy part of the whole thing was when he spoke of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in France, where he recalled how he met legendary actress Dame Helen Mirren.

“She’s sexy,” 50 Cent said, expressing his love and admiration for her. “She’ll look at you and you go, ‘Oh s**t.’ I don’t care how old she get. I don’t give a f**k what nobody says. She’s sexy. Her husband is just right there with her, and he just go, like, ‘Ah yeah, that’s just what she does.’ But he notices what you notice. That she’s sexy. It’s her confidence; it’s everything she is for all of these years. She’s gonna be sexy forever.”

50 Cent’s Interview With Men’s Health

Elsewhere in the conversation, the G-Unit titan also reflected on his “ladies’ man” status during the days of Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. It’s that kind of attitude and charm that leads him to thirst for Hollywood elites. “2003 was so much fun. There was so much energy around me as a new artist that you can’t recreate,” 50 Cent said. “Between 2003 and 2005, I’ve seen every version of every kind of vagina out there. I kept being a guy who would have what he could have and not what he wants, and then when it shifts so fast that you go, ‘What? What happened?’ You’re not prepared for it. And they’re so excited.

“You’re going, ‘Me?’ Then you just have the greatest time of your life. Now look, in 2005, you start feeling like you hot. So all of a sudden, you have transformed. You’re a bad b***h. So now that you’re this bad b***h, you’re looking at the girls looking at you, and you’re going, ‘Oh, she think she gonna get me?’ And now you think you’re so hot that you’re running from the girls. The afterparty is not happening in your hotel room anymore because you have this newfound value for yourself. You’re running to be in the room by yourself.” Still, he also admitted to making “21 Questions” for the sake of his romantic life. Lil Uzi Vert On Chance The Rapper’s “Acid Rap”: “It Was So Weird To Me”

For his recent cover story, Lil Uzi Vert spoke to GQ about some of their early influences. The artist revealed that Chance the Rapper’s critically acclaimed second mixtape, Acid Rap, had a major impact on them. “It was so weird to me,” they said of the 2013 mixtape, “I didn’t understand how he was taking tones of music that I really don’t like but making me like them.”

It’s no doubt that Uzi could have drawn some inspiration from Chance the Rapper. Earlier this year, Chance discussed the impact of Acid Rap, calling the tape the “blueprint for that midwest sound” that lives on today. “I think you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody that’s a year or two younger than me that wasn’t influenced by Acid Rap,” he explained, “even if they weren’t from the midwest. Jack Harlow, [Lil] Uzi Vert. People that are from opposite coasts and from other places still tell me, like, what the album meant to them at that time.”

Lil Uzi Vert Says Chance The Rapper Influenced Them

Acid Rap was certainly groundbreaking for it’s time, and Lil Uzi Vert is no stranger to pushing boundaries themselves. The artist just recently released their third studio album, Pink Tape. The LP has been a massive commercial success thus far. Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, it was the first rap album of the year to hit No. 1. The new LP also boasts various high-profile features. It includes the stylings of Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and more.

Though most fans are loving the new album, Lil Uzi Vert received some pushback for the experimentation they did on Pink Tape. Joe Budden weighed in at the end of last month, calling the effort “a crock of sh*t.” Budden went on to explain, “This is the product that you’re selling. If the plumber come over to fix some sh*t, and wanna try out some new methods, you should’ve did that shit before you got here. Once you’re here to do the service, fix the sh*t. Don’t experiment.”

Rev Run Recalls Jam Master Jay Hearing Public Enemy For The First Time: “God Has Come Down From Heaven”

Rev Run recently spoke to Pitchfork, reflecting on hearing Public Enemy for the first time. According to him, the group’s music was so enthralling to him and the Beastie Boys on tour, they’d race to listen to it after performing. He even shares that the late Jam Master Jay found Chuck D to be godlike.

“I was going on tour with the Beastie Boys, and Chuck D and Hank Shocklee came to meet us at JFK Airport,” he began. “Chuck said, ‘Y’all gotta hear this,’ and they gave Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen a cassette tape of a new record they had just made.” He continued, “This song was so captivating and addictive that Run-D.M.C. and the Beastie Boys would rush to the dressing room after the show and listen to it on my JVC boombox.” “It wasn’t just a statement about political and social issues,” he adds. “It was a statement about how no motherf*ckers could make hip-hop this incredible.

Rev Run also went on to describe how his late group mate reacted upon hearing them for the first time. “When Jam Master Jay first heard Chuck on ‘Public Enemy #1,’ he said to Rick and Russell: ‘God has come down from heaven to rock the mic.’ This was God putting his foot in every MC’s a**. It was voice, delivery, rhyme, style.”

The artist continued, citing how Chuck D managed to simultaneously tap into multiple things on the Public Enemy record. “What’s beautiful is that Chuck said he created the cadence off of Rakim, the God MC,” he says. “Sonically, it was the most powerful, ear-catching, aggressive, complete production of a Hip Hop record. It was mature and youthful. It was who we were before we started making records.”

Pleasure P Shares Disgusting Story About A Used Condom To The Internet’s Disgust

Pleasure P is known for his often hilarious persona, whether it’s before Verzuz battles or just his presence as a figure in the R&B world. Moreover, the Pretty Ricky vocalist just shared a pretty gross and far too detailed story with The Cali Kickback podcast recently that disgusted people who found it on the Internet. It concerns a used condom, and that’s about everything worth spoiling about it, because it’s quite bizarre to hear for yourself. Of course, this is far from a rarity in artist interviews and makes for some pretty funny moments. Still, maybe there’s a way to be just a little bit less overtly nasty when talking about it.

“I was having sex with a girl,” Pleasure P started his story off, and his compatriots had no idea what to expect. To be fair, they were talking about wild intercourse stories, so at least the Miami singer was on-topic and not completely unprompted. “She came to the crib, she was smelling really good. Everything was cool. We were actually hanging out at this spot before she came back to the crib. So she said, ‘I’m gonna go home and freshen up and I’m gonna come to your crib.’

Pleasure P On The Cali Kickback

“I [had] been living here in L.A. at the time and she comes to my crib,” Pleasure P continued. “Then we started kissing and we doing it. So I get my condom, I put it on and I’m going. We’re going, having sex. Okay cool. And the TV is on, so then it goes black for a second- you know, like when they’re changing over to something else. Then the light comes on and I look down and I seen the condom. So I’m thinking that my condom came off. I grab the condom to put it back on and I felt my condom was still on. So I was like, ‘Yo, what the f**k?’

“The condom had been stuck inside of her and the first thing I thought about was how long it had been stuck there,” he concluded. “Yeah, it was disgusting. It was cr*zy. She was just like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! My ex- when I went home, he was there. He was trying to have sex with me and I told him no.’ I didn’t even care at that point.” Furthermore, he ended up kicking her out. We’ll see if he talks about this gross experience again at the next Verzuz battle; we really hope he doesn’t. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Pleasure P.
