Jack Harlow and Lil Dicky Trade Barbs In New “Dave” Clip

Season 3 of Dave is well underway. The show, which presents a fictionalized version of Lil Dicky’s life returned to Hulu and FXX on April 5. The season, which follows Dicky’s first tour, has been rife with celebrity cameos. Most recently, Rick Ross and Killer Mike stopped by in episode 3. It’s a fitting escalation as the show finds itself in a place where Dave/Lil Dicky is finding musical success. The show has also been a continued success, currently holding a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show’s celebrity counter is set to rise even higher based on a trailer for its next episode. Seemingly set around The Met Gala (and mysteriously titled Wisconsin), the brief trailer posted to Twitter featured Rachel McAdams, Don Cheadle, and Usher. However, it saves the best for last with the appearance of a musician that Lil Dicky has often drawn comparisons to.

Jack Harlow Gets Weird In “Dave” Episode 4

The highlight of the brief trailer posted to social media is an interaction between Dave and Jack Harlow. Presumably while at The Met Gala, Dave is approached by Harlow who proceeds to sniff him before saying “You stink a little bit, I like that”. There are also some serious bedroom eyes being laid down by Harlow. Dave, dressed in an oversized coat (Met Gala gonna Met Gala) retorts with, “I see you put on platform shoes to appear six foot five.” As Harlow backs away, he replies “You want beef? Because I got a whole slab” while grabbing his crotch. The whole thing was presented alongside a tweet from Lil Dicky that simply read “Fuck you @jackharlow”.

So is Harlow about to become a recurring antagonist that Dave must overcome in his rise to stardom? The trailer makes that implication, while also making Harlow wonderfully weird. His actions and delivery sell a slightly unhinged and parody-esque portrayal. It could also speak to a plot point for the rest of the season, especially considering that a future episode is titled #RIPLilDicky. However, whether its a recurring role or a brief cameo in Dave’s whirlwind tour of the music world, it’s sure to be hilarious. Dave Season 3 is currently able on FXX and Hulu.

Roddy Ricch Speaks On Social Media Pressures

During the latest episode of RapCaviar Presents on Hulu, Roddy Ricch spoke candidly about his often documented perspective on social media. Of course, given that his breakout album was titled Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, many might not be surprised at this revelation. However, the Compton artist is certainly a rapper who had to deal with these pressures quite quickly. Moreover, “The Box” is one of the biggest rap hits of the past couple of years, and catapulted him to an insanely high-profile status. While he’s grateful for the success he’s seen, he also had to deal with the pitfalls of fame much more quickly than most.

“A lot of people don’t have to deal with more than 10 people,” the hitmaker said during the episode, aptly titled “The Gift and The Curse.” Given the mostly mixed reception to his follow-up after such a huge hit, he has a unique and hardened perspective on living up to expectations set by others. “So just imagine seven million that see your posts every day… Jesus only had 12 disciples, and I ain’t nowhere near Jesus… Let me be great, man.”

Roddy Ricch Reflects On “The Gift & The Curse” Of Social Media

Despite his feelings on social media and reception to his output, the 24-year-old continues to shine and stamp his name into the game. Recently, he released “I Remember” with Kodak Black and Internet Money, and also collaborated with Blxst on “Passionate.” Unfortunately, though, his gifts as of late also came with some curses. For example, he received a copyright lawsuit over his smash hit “The Box” at the end of 2022, although it’s unknown how much it will really impact the song or his success.

Also, there’s the point of multiple fan and paparazzi interactions that had people unjustly criticizing him for reacting strongly. It seems that Roddy is more aware and critical of the fact that celebrities like him get their privacy intruded on by people running up on them for pictures or statements. While it’s never easy to see someone lash out, it’s also completely understandable. As such, hopefully Roddy’s communication of these feelings can make fans think twice about judging how famous people might react to these scenarios, and how much we truly connect with them on social media. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Roddy Ricch.

Tyler, The Creator Details Most “Awesome” Parts Of His Rapper Lifestyle

Things have been relatively quiet on Tyler, The Creator’s front so far this year, though he made waves in a major way earlier this week with his “DOGTOOTH” single. Along with that must-hear track, the California native announced that more will be coming this Friday (March 31) on THE ESTATE SALE edition of his 2021 project, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST. Aside from the exciting new music, fans also get to see their favourite artist on today’s episode of RapCaviar Presents on Hulu.

In a clip reposted by HipHopDX on Twitter, the OFWGKTA leader reflects on his favourite parts of his highly coveted job. “We’re good with words. We’re good with rhythm. We know pockets. We hear a collection of sounds and one thing and say, ‘Ahh, I know what could go over this,’ that takes a skill,” Tyler explained of the unique talents he and his contemporaries have. He also shared that being able to understand different “narratives” and express what you’re feeling verbally is an incredible feeling to have as a creative.

Tyler, The Creator on RapCaviar Presents

For the 32-year-old, it sounds as though another bonus of rap superstardom is the ability to explore different creative avenues. “You could be multiple choice,” he told viewers. “You could be into this and you could be into this, and you could be into that. It’s ABC. I’m a rapper. I’m also a producer. I’m also a fucking hot dog.” Tyler then addressed the fact that young teenagers with aspirations of working in the industry have such a limited scope of how much creative freedom truly exists for them.

“You got some young kid like 13 thinking, ‘Oh I got to make bravado rap, [or] damn I gotta talk about what you think you would have to talk about in a rap song,’ [but] no, you don’t,” he went on to say. “When I’m flexing on these songs, it’s just about the shit that I really like.” Will you be tuning into Tyler, The Creator’s full episode of RapCaviar Presents on Hulu? J Dilla Documentary Finally Making Its Debut In April

J Dilla left an imprint on rap that will never fade away. The crispy drums he used influenced people like Kanye West. Years later, he birthed the new generation of lo-fi producers. The Donuts producer’s influence continues to be heard in hip-hop nearly 15 years after his tragic passing. His collaborators and friends have shared his story and kept his legacy alive. However, for new fans who’ve yet to fully comprehend his genius, Hulu and FX are releasing a documentary titled, The Legacy Of J Dilla.

The upcoming documentary will make its debut on FX on April 7th at 10 p.m. Afterward, Hulu will upload it to their platform to stream on the same day. The New York Times will present the upcoming doc, which they describe as “an intimate portrait” of Dilla’s life and legacy. The documentary also includes exclusive access to his family. The Legacy Of J Dilla will certainly become a must-watch for hip-hop heads. It’s no doubt that it’ll explore his life and legacy in a way that hasn’t been done before.

The Legacy Of J Dilla Drops On April 7th

The documentary, which has been directed and produced by Christopher Frierson and Esther Dere, will include contributions from Dilla’s family and the unfortunate circumstances surrounding his estate and legacy following his 2006 death. “I’m a Detroiter, and I’m a fighter,” his mother, Maureen Yancey, says. “I will stay in there, and I will fight. I won’t let anybody put my son down, what I do for him down, because I’m here to lift up his music, his legacy.”

In addition to his forthcoming documentary, Questlove also has a documentary in the works based on the Welcome To Detroit artist. Dilla Time is described as “part biography, part musicology, and part musical meditation,” based on the 2022 biography, Dilla Time: The Life and Afterlife of J Dilla, The Hip Hop Producer Who Reinvented Rhythm by Dan Charnas. “J Dilla was our teacher. And what he taught us was how to feel rhythm in a way we had never felt before,” Quest said. “I’m so honored to be a part of bringing his story to the world through this documentary.”

Diddy & His 7 Kids Reportedly Star In Hulu Reality Series

It was only a matter of time before the Diddy and his Combs Clan capitalized on the unscripted television circuit. Rumors were previously floating around about the Bad Boy mogul filing a trademark for “Diddy + 7.” Some believe it was at the center of a reality TV endeavor. Today (March 23), Page Six reported that Sean “Diddy” Combs and his kids are set to be the next celebrity family to give an intimate look at their everyday lives. The Kardashian-Jenners recently moved their reality series to Hulu, and it looks like the platform is ushering in more high-profile families.

Additionally, Page Six reportedly spoke with a “source” who shared details about the purported series. “It’s going to profile the entire family. They all have businesses — even the kids — and it will feature everyone,” a person revealed. It was further noted that the media mogul and his seven children have already been spotted in Los Angeles and Miami filming for the series. Christian “King” coombs is a rapper who followed in his doppelganger father’s footsteps. Quincy Brown, Diddy’s stepson, has a media company and is an artist. Justin Combs reportedly works for his father’s business and has been stretching his chops as an entertainer and host. Also, teen twins Jessie and D’Lila are taking over the fashion world as they hit one runway to the next.

Diddy’s Expanding His Reach

The youngest of the Combs kids is infant Love. Diddy announced her arrival in December, and it came as a shock to fans. He was dating City Girls hitmaker Yung Miami then, but it was later shared that the child’s mother was a California woman named Dana Tran. Although Puff regularly shares photos of his family, this will be the first time he’s opened his doors to a series. “[The show] is all about the dynamic of the family and how Diddy does it all with all the kids,” a source stated. “They’re a real family, even all the baby mamas,” the source further stated.”

Although it’s been said that the mothers of Diddy’s kids all get along, it’s unclear if they’ll make appearances. Kim Porter—mother to Christan, Quincy, Jessie, and D’Lila—sadly passed away in 2018 after a bout with pneumonia. Dana Tran hasn’t said much since her big reveal, but fans are hoping to hear more from Love’s mom. Would you tune in to a reality show about Diddy and his family?

Hulu’s “Rap Caviar Presents” Trailers: Roddy Ricch, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G, Coi Leray, Pharrell & More

Next week, fans will receive an intimate look at some of their favorite artists on Rap Caviar Presents. What began as a Spotify playlist created by Tuma Basa has become one of the leading sources of the best Hip Hop music releases. It’s a coveted playlist that artists clamor to be on. Now, a new Hulu docuseries will highlight the culture’s most popular artists. We’ve highlighted teasers ahead of the March 30 premiere, and Rap Caviar Presents returns with more information about each episode.

The six-part series will feature the likes of Coi Leray, City Girls, Polo G, Roddy Ricch, Tyler, The Creator, and more. We received a breakdown of each episode, and it looks like the artists will touch on current events, the culture of Hip Hop, facing critics, and their overall experiences as artists. The Igor hitmaker and his peers will address hypermasculinity in Rap. Tyler has defied those norms to amass success. A press release asks, “Can a rapper like him make it past gatekeepers and truly be accepted?”

Rap Caviar Presents Digs Deep

Other episodes include City Girls, who will reportedly speak on “a new generation of women openly celebrating wealth and sexuality. But with greater exposure comes even more vicious attacks and criticism.” Roddy Ricch‘s feature will see the Los Angeles rapper talking about the “constant public scrutiny and internet backlash” he’s endured. In a world where social media is critical, how do artists use the platform to earn fame while navigating negativity?

Polo G discusses mental health, healing from trauma, and breaking negative cycles. Coi Leray had a meteoric climb in Hip Hop, and as a woman in the industry, she’s faced obstacles that were set to displace her career. She wants to “create a space for a new kind of beauty, empowerment, and control,” while showing the world she’s more than just TikTok famous. Additionally, on “Rhyme and Punishment,” Rap Caviar Presents looks into law enforcement surveilling Black Americans. Further, they highlight the targeting of Hip Hop artists. We’ve seen in the YSL RICO case involving Young Thug that the authorities want to use lyrics in court. The docuseries will have artists discuss Hip Hop unifying to “harness its political power to combat the criminalization of Rap.”

Important Discussions In Hip Hop

For fans of Hip Hop—and music, overall—Rap Caviar Presents is a must-watch. Other artists featured include Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Pharrell Williams, Fivio Foreign, Post Malone, and more. Check out the new teasers above and let us know which episode you’re looking forward to the most.
