It’s Officially Hozier Season As He Lands His First-Ever No. 1 Single On The New Hot 100 Chart

Every week, Billboard unveils the top 10 songs on the latest Hot 100 chart. The most recent rankings, for the chart dated April 27, are out now, so let’s run down who had this week’s biggest hits.

10. SZA — “Saturn”

SZA finds herself re-entering the top 10 this week as “Saturn” gets a bump up from No. 15 all the way to No. 10.

9. Noah Kahan — “Stick Season”

Kahan just got a new personal best, as “Stick Season,” after spending last week at No. 10, climbs up to a new high of No. 9 this week.

8. Ariana Grande — “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)”

What Grande can be friends with is the top 10 as “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For You Love)” maintains its No. 8 spot from last week.

7. Sabrina Carpenter — “Espresso”

Congratulations are in order for Carpenter, who has her first top-10 single of her career with “Espresso.” Also of note is that “Feather,” which was Carpenter’s first top-40 hit, hits a new high on this week’s chart at No. 21.

6. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

“Lovin On Me” has become a top-10 mainstay in recent months and even after all this time, it’s still only just outside the top 5.

5. Beyoncé — “Texas Hold ‘Em”

After hanging out at No. 6 last week, “Texas Hold ‘Em” returns to the top 5 at it leads the Hot Country Songs chart for a 10th week.

4. Teddy Swims — “Lose Control”

Swims’ breakout hit is still doing well for the song as it maintains control at No. 4.

3. Benson Boone — “Beautiful Things”

The same is true for Boone, who hasn’t yet managed to get to No. 1 but it still doing great at No. 3 this week.

2. Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar — “Like That”

“Like That” was No. 1 for its first three weeks on the Hot 100, but the time has come for that streak to end, because there’s a new champion on the latest chart.

1. Hozier — “Too Sweet”

For a long while, it seemed that 2013’s “Take Me To Church” would make Hozier a one-hit wonder, as it was his only single to chart in the top 10 (in the top 35, even), peaking at No. 2. Now, though, it’s no longer the biggest chart success of his career, as “Too Sweet” just became his first No. 1 single. It’s also the first chart-topper by an Irish artist in decades, since Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” in 1990.

Grande’s single has had a quick descent since it debuted at No. 1 two weeks ago: It was No. 3 last week, and now it’s barely hanging on to top-10 status.

9. Future, Metro Boomin, and The Weeknd — “Young Metro”

Future and Metro Boomin’s new album We Don’t Trust You had a major week on the Hot 100, as “Young Metro” is just one of five songs from the project in this week’s top 10.

8. Future and Metro Boomin — “We Don’t Trust You”

“We Don’t Trust You” is one of the others, and the only one on which Future and Metro aren’t joined by another artist.

7. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

It’s been a few months now, but “Lovin On Me” is still floating around the top 10 after a bit of a drop from No. 4 last week.

6. Future, Metro Boomin, and Travis Scott — “Cinderella”

Travis Scott managed to land a pair of songs (more on that later) in this week’s top 10 thanks to linking up with Future and Metro on their album.

5. Hozier — “Too Sweet”

Hozier’s three albums have all performed well on the charts, but in terms of singles, he’s been sitting in “one-hit wonder” territory for years now with “Take Me To Church,” which peaked at No. 2 in 2014. “Too Sweet” is having a real moment, though, as the song debuts at No. 5 this week, making it his highest debut on the chart and his first top-10 single since “Take Me To Church.”

4. Teddy Swims — “Lose Control”

“Lose Control” actually managed to hit No. 1 on the chart last week, but it lost control of the top spot and slid down to No. 4.

3. Benson Boone — “Beautiful Things”

Boone, another chart newcomer with his recent hit, also had a bit of a decline this time around, moving down from No. 2.

2. Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti — “Type Sh*t”

Future and Metro secured the top two spots on this week’s chart, and they got some help from Scott and Carti to do it with “Type Sh*t.”

1. Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar — “Like That”

This week represents a major milestone for Metro, as “Like That” is his first No. 1 single as an artist (as opposed to as a producer). For both Future and Kendrick, “Like That” is their third No. 1 song. The tune is Metro’s third No. 1 as a producer, as he was also on the boards for The Weeknd’s “Heartless” and Migos’ “Bad And Boujee.”

On the Right Field Stage, Breakup Shoes are on from 12:50 to 1:20, The Beaches are on from 2:05 to 2:50, Matt And Kim are on from 3:35 to 4:35, Phantogram is on from 5:45 to 6:45, and Jimmy Eat World is on from 8:10 to 9:10.

On the Home Plate stage, Finish Ticket is on from 1:25 to 2:10, The Criticals are on from 2:55 to 3:55, Young The Giant is on from 5 to 6, Macklemore is on from 7:10 to 8:10, and Hozier is on from 9:30 to 11.

On the Right Field Stage, Nat & Alex Wolf are on from 12:55 to 1:25, Miya Folick is on from 2:10 to 2:55, Cautious Clay is on from 3:55 to 4:55, Cannons are on from 6:05 to 7:05, and Third Eye Blind is on from 8:15 to 9:15.

Ed Sheeran, Leon Bridges, The Killers, And More Are Set To Headline The 2024 Boston Calling Music Festival

The 2024 music festival season is shaping up to be yet another one for the history books. Today (January 9), organizers of Boston Calling announced the official lineup for this year’s festivities. Across Memorial Day weekend (May 24 to 26), the annual multi-day event will take over the city’s Harvard Athletic Complex with headliner performances ranging from pop, indie, and soul acts alike.

On opening night, Friday, May 24, Ed Sheeran and Leon Bridges will close things out. Tyler Childers and Trey Anastasio & Classic Tab will do the honors on the following day, Saturday, May 25. Closing night, May 26, The Killers and Hozier are set to end things with a band.

Other notable names on the lineup include Mean Girls‘ Reneé Rapp, Luke Hemmings, Madi Diaz, Ric Wilson, Khruangbin, Frank Truner & The Sleeping Souls, Jessie Murph, d4vd, Megan Thee Stallion, The Revivalists, Lovejoy, and Blondshell. View the full lineup below.

Quavo’s “Rocket Power” Set For Modest First Week Sales

Rocket Power is the latest album from Quavo. A quasi-tribute to Takeoff, Rocket Power is Quavo’s first solo album since 2018’s Quavo Huncho and his first release since Migos’ final album, 2021’s Culture III. Rocket Power is a Quavo-heavy album, with just three features. “Patty Cake” features Takeoff, “Turn Yo Clic Up” features Future, and “Focused” features Young Thug.

Quavo Huncho peaked at #2 five years ago but unfortunately for Quavo, it doesn’t appear as though Rocket Power is going to have the same impact on the Billboard charts. According to HDD, the album is projected to sell 27,000-32,000 copies in its first week, which should be good enough for a top-20 debut. However, it likely won’t climb too high in that section of the chart. The top five are pretty set right now. At the time of writing, the top five on the Billboard 200 are UTOPIA, One Day At A Time, Barbie: The Album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and Midnights. All five albums shot up the charts this week, as did the #6 album, Lover.

Rocket Power Pales In Comparison To Other Releases

Quavo is not the only major artist who will be debuting on the Billboard 200 next week. Unreal Unearth, the latest album from Irish folk singer Hozier also dropped this week. Per HDD, the first-week projections on that project are 45,000-55,000, which should see Unreal Unearth debut in the top ten. The album includes one feature, with American rocker Brandi Carlile appearing on “Damage Gets Done”.

The release of Rocket Power also came with the release of a music video for the single “Hold Me”. While a solo single, it serves as one of the album’s biggest goodbyes to Takeoff. Shot in Paris, the video features a sea of people wearing Takeoff t-shirts and features lyrics specifically about Quavo’s mourning for his lost nephew.
