“Melanin Magic (Pretty Brown)” still remains as Remy Ma’s biggest post-prison solo single. The song is an empowering celebration of Black people, especially Black women. The song notably samples Mint Condition’s “Breakin My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)” from 1991. The chorus from Chris Brown adds a soulful touch to the glamorous instrumental, contrasting nicely with Remy’s tough delivery.

3. “Feels So Good” feat. Ne-Yo (2006)

“All the Way Up” is easily the biggest hit song of Remy Ma’s career, released over 14 years after her debut single. It was Remy Ma’s first single to be released in ten years, following “Feels So Good.” The song was a comeback record for Remy Ma after her imprisonment. It marked her reunion with Fat Joe, serving as the lead single from their collaborative album, Plata O Plomo. The song is all about leveling up and achieving success, which made for the ultimate comeback song for Remy Ma. Fresh out of prison, she opens her verse with the lyric, “Just left the big house to a bigger house.”

The fact that “All the Way Up” is a collaboration with Fat Joe marked a full circle moment for their relationship, and features from French Montana and Infrared make the song a New York affair. The track is Remy Ma’s only Platinum single, first reaching the height in 2016 and now sitting at 3x Platinum status since 2021. It is also certified Gold in the UK and Platinum in France.

Sheff G Reportedly Held Dinner Party For Gang Members After Hit

On Tuesday (May 16), Sheff G found himself in the middle of a massive arrest, charged alongside 32 other suspected gang members. As part of the gang bust, prosecutors alleged that these are members of the 8 Trey Crips and the 9 Ways and carried out dozens of shootings and at least one murder. Moreover, they maintain that the 140-count indictment stems from their attempt to consolidate power across territories. However, there is one event in particular that prosecutors believe strongly indicates Sheff and Sleepy Hallow’s involvement. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez believes they reportedly treated eight alleged members to a Manhattan steakhouse dinner following a successful hit.

Specifically, they stand accused of celebrating a 2020 shooting that left Theodore Senior dead at 23, plus five other injuries, at Prospect Lefferts Gardens. According to NYPD Deputy Chief Jason Savino, Sheff G and Hallow donned matching outfits at the occasion. Also, they allegedly bestowed a custom gold necklace with the victim’s nickname etched onto it to a particular guest of honor at the dinner. The victims reportedly belonged to the Folk Nation gang, and Sheff confirmed the hit via text and also ordered another one because of a shooting at his house. Allegedly, his sister also participated in the attack by letting her brother know via text that a Folk Nation member “had to get hit or killed.”

“The senseless gun violence, allegedly committed by these defendants, terrorized our neighbors for years and left more than a dozen people with serious injuries,” Gonzalez remarked according to ABC7. “It is distressing to know that some of the violence was allegedly fueled by a young man who used money he made from a successful music career to allegedly pay for and encourage acts of violence. Sheff G became a prominent member of this gang and became central to our investigation. Sheff G used a lot of the money that he earned to facilitate further gang activity. He encouraged gang members to participate in violent crimes.”

Meanwhile, this case is all the more worrisome considering that the two Brooklyn drill rappers just got out of prison. Still, these are big charges to face, especially after such a long time behind bars. The Brooklyn D.A. also made it clear that not a “single lyric” contributed to their case against the rappers and their colleagues. 50 Cent celebrated 15 new platinum plaques on Instagram, which means that 15 of his songs were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Moreover, some of 50’s biggest hits got new certifications, whereas some got their first platinum plaque. Still, it speaks to the Queens rapper’s excellent and long-lasting catalog and impact.

“Can you imagine if i kept all my hits for my self,” 50 captioned his post. Furthermore, he posted which songs specifically got the new certifications. Specifically, he got 15 new platinum accolades and six gold plaques. According to the G-Unit head honcho’s post, a few songs for plaques for the very first time. Some that received their first platinum certification were “I Get Money,” “Patiently Waiting” featuring Eminem, “Best Friend,” “Outta Control,” “Hate It Or Love It” and “Window Shopper.”

Moreover, some songs that already reached platinum status got re-certified. These include “In Da Club,” “Just A Lil’ Bit,” “Disco Inferno,” “Many Men (Wish Death),” “P.I.M.P.,” “Candy Shop,” “21 Questions” with Nate Dogg, and more.

However, it’s crazy to think that “21 Questions” almost didn’t see the light of day. Dr. Dre wasn’t feeling it, but 50’s vision saved the track from oblivion. During a recent appearance on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the BMF tycoon told a story about how the two hashed it out.

“He said, ‘I don’t know why you want?’ Why I wanted the record,” he expressed. “I’m like, ‘Damn, I gotta do all these motherf**kin’ push-ups?’ Dre would say this is N.W.A… ‘We didn’t do that.’

“Like they didn’t have to reach to make a commercial record or anything that sounded like a commercial record,” he continued. “And that’s just in his DNA. Like on his path, he’s like, ‘We don’t need that.’”
