Kanye West Finally Sells Malibu Mansion for $21 Million After Gutting It

image

In super rich people news, Kanye West has finally got rid of his Malibu mansion. The gutted beachfront property had become an infamous so called project after he stripped it down.

The house has reportedly sold for $21 million. That would be a major loss.

Get this, Belwood Investments, a California-based real estate crowdfunding firm, purchased the mansion, which was initially designed by the renowned architect Tadao Ando.

If you were keeping up with Kanye’s real estate ventures, West originally acquired the property in 2021 for $57.3 million but as we said, stripped it down to its bare framework, reportedly intending to convert it into a bomb shelter. However, the project stalled, and West eventually listed the home for $53 million, a price that found no takers.

Faced with the difficulty of selling the property, West, alongside his realtor Jason Oppenheim from “Selling Sunset,” slashed the asking price by $14 million. The final sale to Belwood Investments closed at $21 million, significantly below the original purchase price. Yikes.

Big real estate players, Jean-Baptiste Rugiero and Mehdi Maamri of The Agency represented Belwood Investments in the deal, which is expected to finalize on September 3.

Looks like more money will be dumped into it as Belwood’s CEO, Bo Belmont, announced plans to invest an additional $5 million into restoring the mansion to reflect Tadao Ando’s original vision, stating, “This is not just a phenomenal real estate investment; it is an opportunity to revitalize and preserve an architectural gem by the renowned Tadao Ando, ensuring it remains a jewel of Malibu.”

Wonder what’s up with Kanye’s other houses. Doesn’t he have one in like Wyoming?

Nipsey Hussle Honored with Wax Figure at Invest Fest 2024

image

When it comes to Nipsey Hussle’s legacy, the marathon continues.

The late Crenshaw icon was recently honored with a wax figure at Invest Fest 2024. This marked the debut of the first-ever wax figure of Hussle, unveiled by an artist known as Mr. Officials as part of a $100,000 competition at the festival.

From the looks of it, they got it right because it seems fans believe the wax figure is a strikingly accurate representation of Hussle. The figure depicts him in a black t-shirt emblazoned with “Crewnshaw” across the chest in white letters, paired with a gold chain and distressed black jeans.

According to Mr. Officials, crafting this figure was a labor-intensive project that spanned over nine months.

Invest Fest’s official Instagram posted:

“A tribute to greatness meets the grind for success. Witnessing a contestant honor Nipsey Hussle with a stunning wax figure while competing for $100,000 at Invest Fest. The Marathon continues!”

This moment was especially important as the $100,000 pitch competition at Invest Fest was dedicated to Hussle’s memory, a tribute initiated by his company, The Marathon Continues. Hussle’s brother, Blacc Sam, was present at the event and was reportedly moved to tears upon seeing the wax figure.

SOURCE SPORTS: Eagles Legend Fletcher Cox Shares on Nick Foles Retirement, The ‘Philly Philly’ Bud Light Celebration & More

fletcher cox

After Super Bowl 52 MVP Nick Foles announced his retirement on Thursday, Bud Light—the official NFL and Philadelphia Eagles beer sponsor—teased a nostalgic return of the “Philly Philly” magic. Today, Bud Light unveiled an official celebration plan to honor Foles, his teammates, and their historic Super Bowl 52 victory.

Bud Light is releasing 52 limited-edition commemorative “Philly Philly” bottles, each featuring unique tributes to the legendary play and the Eagles’ Super Bowl win. Encased in a wooden display box, these bottles will also come with a voucher for 52 days’ worth of Bud Light beer, offering fans 21+ the perfect way to toast the Philly hero.

Fans can enter to win one of these exclusive bottles by commenting #PhillyPhillySweeps on Bud Light’s social media post. The celebration continues on Monday, Sept. 16, when Eagles legend Fletcher Cox will distribute Bud Light at Xfinity Live’s NBC Sports Arena before the Eagles’ first home game.

“This year, Nick and I both made the decision to hang up our cleats and had the honor of doing so as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles,” said Super Bowl LII Champion and former Eagles defensive tackle, Fletcher Cox. “Calling it a career has brought back so many special memories of winning Super Bowl 52 and the epic “Philly Philly” celebration from Bud Light, who rallied around us and our incredible fans throughout the championship season. It only makes sense to partner with Bud Light to run it back one more time with a can’t-miss party, giving fans the chance to cheers to the end of an era for the players who made history happen.”

In conversation with The Source, Fletcher Cox discusses his relationship with Foles, the Bud Light sweepstakes, and this upcoming NFL season.

Tell me what drew you to this Bud Light partnership and how excited are you to get back to Philly for the Eagles home opener?

I mean, obviously, going back to Philly is always exciting. Especially a Monday night game. But now I’m going back to the home opener with Bud Light and hand out beers to fans 21 and older at Expanded Live. They love the Philly, Philly and those memories of fans on Broad Street crying and drinking Bud Light stick in my mind. I’m excited for it.

How cool is it for you to return with all your teammates?

I mean, you’re appreciated. I’ve learned that throughout my career. That appreciation takes you so far and I appreciate the opportunity to be able to return for this Philly, Philly celebration and home opening game.

This was all sparked by Nick Foles retirement announcement. What was your reaction to his news when you found out?

I kind of heard a little bit before he was retired. In the back of my head I wondered what he was waiting on. But I’m excited for him. I’m going to toast him with Bud Light and it will be fun.

Beyond the obvious, like winning a Super Bowl together and the celebration parades, are there any unique stories from your time with Nick in Philly that stand out as you both wrap up your careers?

[laughs] Every moment with Nick was fun. I used to go in there and watch him beat up on guys on the Ping Pong Table. He was really good. One of the most surprising things is Nick can hoop too. As a quarterback, you don’t expect him to hoop a little bit. From the time he got drafted and got there, everything was fun. He went through the fire early and I think that kind of helped him prepare for later in his career. That whole Super Bowl Day was great. Meeting at the stadium to get to the buses and I remember is hitting the corner coming of Patterson and seeing the fence on Broad Street with people hanging from trees, on top of their apartments, hanging out windows. The Philly fans are the best in the NFL.

Do you have any retirement advice for Nick?

Nick has been living his best dad’s life for the last few years. I would tell him to ensure he is taking care of himself.

A lot of guys move into different worlds upon retirement. Business Ventures, broadcasting, coaching. Have you thought about that for yourself?

I’m just kind of enjoying these first couple months to myself. I didn’t want to retire and go right into something. I want to celebrate life. I want to watch my nephews play football. I get to see my neice play volleyball and basketball. I wasn’t able to do those things. I was missing their childhoods.

Ahead of this season, if you could tell the current Eagles anything, what advice would you give them?

They still going to have a target on their back no matter who you are. Anytime you play for the Eagles, it’s like the Super Bowl for another team. It could be the worst team in the NFL, the best team in the NFL, or a mediocre squad. Don’t matter how good you are, they play the Eagles with their A game.So just stay focused and control what you can. Also, lean on each other when times get hard.

J. Prince Calls Out YSL Trial Testimony: ‘Black-on-Black Racism Feels the Worst’

J. Prince Responds to NBA YoungBoy: 'You're a Dumb Boy with Limited Thinking Ability and Disrespectful

J. Prince is not a fan of everything in the YSL Trial. After another hectic Lil Woody testimony, where he mentioned Thug was “trying to be the J. Prince of Atlanta,” Prince sounded off on the court process:

Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to fake-ass people putting my name in their mouth. But I still find it very interesting how some prosecutors will go above and beyond the call of duty to try and destroy a man’s life for being inspired by a successful Black entrepreneur like myself. Btw, Black-on-Black racism feels the worst. #freeyoungthug

– J. Prince

Lil Woody’s testimonies in the YSL trial get more insane by the day. When reading a transcript, Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, would not say the n-word, which Woody caught on to and asked what “N” was during a court session.

“What is ‘n,’” Woody said to the word’s spelling. “Oh ‘nigga.’”

Earlier this month, the Georgia Supreme Court suspended attorney Jonathan Reuven Melnick for six months due to conduct unrelated to the ongoing trial. Huh, what, wow.

As a result, witness Kenneth Copeland, also known as Lil’ Woody, appeared in court on Tuesday without his attorney—like, no lawyer at all.

During his testimony, Copeland repeatedly responded to Assistant District Attorney Simone Hylton with the phrase, “I don’t recall.”

Get this: Melnick’s suspension was confirmed by a Georgia Supreme Court decision that was released on Tuesday morning. The court order stated, “Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that Jonathan R. Melnick is suspended from the practice of law in Georgia for six months. The suspension based on this opinion will take effect as of the date this opinion is issued and will expire by its own terms six months later.” The State Bar of Georgia’s directory lists Jonathan Melnick as suspended for “non-compliance” with Continuing Legal Education rules, rendering him ineligible to practice law in the state.

So what’s interesting is that after spending most of the morning on the stand, Copeland refused to continue testifying upon learning of Melnick’s suspension, insisting on having legal representation present.

Judge Whitaker, probably as frustrated as everyone else, responded by dismissing the jury for recess and committed to securing a public defender for Copeland in Melnick’s absence. When the court reconvened, Whitaker announced that the appointed attorney would not be available until the next day, meaning Copeland’s testimony could not proceed.

Nicki Minaj Announces Deluxe Edition of ‘Pink Friday 2’

Nicki Minaj Announces Second Leg of Record-Breaking Pink Friday 2 World Tour

Nicki Minaj is set to give fans more of her Pink Friday 2 world. The Rap Queen announced that the album’s deluxe edition will be Gag City Reloaded. “9.13.24 #GagCityRELOADED THE DELUXE ALBUM,” Minaj wrote on Instagram.

In other news, Nicki Minaj’s lawyer is responding to a disgruntled fan who sued the rap queen for slander. In response, Minaj’s lawyer speaks up.

According to Nicki’s attorney, Judd Burstein, the plaintiff, Tameer Peak, is accused of constantly harassing the superstar.

“He has now graduated to seeking to shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims,” Burstein continued to TMZ. “He will regret having gone down this disreputable road when he is forced to pay her legal fees as required by California law.”

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Peak has been a devoted fan of Nicki Minaj for the past 15 years, actively promoting her career and her 2023 album, Pink Friday 2. However, the relationship between the fan and the superstar allegedly took a turn for the worse in 2017, during what Minaj referred to as her “Nicki hate train” phase. During this period, Peak alleges that Minaj began accusing her fans, including him, of being “paid moles” sent to undermine her success.

Peak’s lawsuit details several incidents in which he claims Minaj publicly humiliated and mistreated him. In one instance, he alleges that Nicki invited him to her hotel room, only to ridicule him in front of 100,000 viewers on Instagram Live. The suit also accuses Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, of physically assaulting Peak during a Super Bowl weekend event in 2020—a situation Minaj allegedly acknowledged in a direct message to Peak afterward.

The allegations further state that in 2024, Minaj sent messages through third parties instructing Peak to “stop saying dumb s–t,” which he claims damaged his reputation within her fanbase, the Barbz. Peak also points to several interactions on Twitter (now X) and Stationhead, where Minaj allegedly made disparaging comments about his mental stability and financial situation. She reportedly referred to him as “one sandwich short of a picnic” and implied he was on welfare, contributing to what Peak describes as a campaign to discredit and defame him.

In his lawsuit, Peak is seeking $5 million in damages for the reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss he says he has suffered as a result of Minaj’s actions.

Thoughts?
