Mal Speaks On “Joe Budden Podcast” Firing: “I’m Not With The Corny Sh*t”

Not long after his former co-host Rory Farrell tweeted a brief statement about their exit from The Joe Budden Podcast, Jamil “Mal” Clay is speaking his mind. There were rumors that the relationship between Mal, Rory, and Budden was reaching its breaking point, and when they were noticeably absent from the podcast, people speculated that it was the end for the trio. Budden joked that he offered to go to therapy with Rory and the three friends reunited on the series once again, but a recently released leaked audio shows Budden firing his friends and drawing the line in the sand.

Rory later thanked supporters and said he would address the drama at a later date, and it looks like Mal is jumping in to speak his piece. “The lies are always loud. The truth is always quiet. I promise you,” tweeted Mal. “The supporters deserve the truth.”

“Black people love to discredit one another. It’s a disease that kills our community,” he added elsewhere. “I’ve been cool and quiet for too long. I’m allowed to get out of character for at least an hour. Maybe 40 mins. The truth is usually short and simple.” Someone encouraged him to speak “his truth,” but Mal was quick to correct them and say it’s “the truth,” not just one person’s perspective.

Mal added that people who have supported them for so long deserve to know the truth and stated that the situation between himself, Budden, and Farrell has already been resolved. “I’m not with the corny sh*t,” he tweeted. “I’m only willing to sit down and address everything because people supported something for years. They deserve that.”

Red Table Talk may be calling soon. Read through a few of Mal’s tweets below.

Padres Fan Annihilates Rockies Supporter In The Middle Of A Game

When it comes to sporting events, there is no denying that fans like to get testy with one another. Sometimes, these altercations in the stands can get violent which leads to some pretty severe outcomes. Most of the time, these fights go down at football and hockey games, where the action down below is already violent as is. However, this typically isn’t always the case when it comes to baseball, where the sport is a lot calmer at times, albeit it can quickly devolve if the two teams hate each other.

On Wednesday, baseball saw one of its wildest fan moments in a while as the Colorado Rockies took on the San Diego Padres in Colorado. In the clip below, a Padres fan got up from his seat and walked over to a Rockies supporter. It was there that the Padres fan wound up and completely knocked out the man in the Rockies jersey.

According to TMZ, the Rockies fan was okay and won’t be pressing charges. As a result, the Padres fan was not arrested, although he was roughed up a bit after delivering that big punch.

In the end, the Rockies fan may have lost the fight but his team won the war as the Rockies came away with a 3-2 victory.

Lollapalooza Receives Clearance To Return This Summer With A Four-Day Festival At Near Full Capacity

Variety reports that Chicago’s Lollapalooza has been cleared to continue with a four-day event in its usual venue (Grant Park) at full capacity — or else, near to it. The festival’s organizers, C3 Presents, are expected to make an official announcement sometime next week, along with headliners. While C3 declined to comment, Variety notes the organizers expressed optimism about the festival’s return in 2021 to the Chicago Tribune, while Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the city would loosen its pandemic safety restrictions.

The Windy City Smokeout on July 8-11 is expected to be the first street festival, requiring full vaccination for all vendors, performers, and staff, while attendees will need to present proof of a negative COVID test within three days from attendance. Meanwhile, Rolling Loud is scheduled to return to Miami on July 23-25 at the 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium with ASAP Rocky, Post Malone, and Travis Scott headlining, while New York’s Governor’s Ball returns in September, including many of the same artists, as well as more pop-oriented acts like Billie Eilish. If trends in festival booking hold to what they’ve resembled in the past, you can rest assured that many of the same names will appear on Lollapalooza’s announcement next week. Fingers crossed!

Air Jordan 1 High OG “Pollen” Dropping Earlier Than Expected

It’s well-documented that the Air Jordan 1 is one of the best Jumpman shoes to ever be released. Of course, it was the first signature shoe ever worn by Michael Jordan and it seems likely that this shoe will be a fan favorite for years to come. Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson Reunite In “Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” Trailer

If there’s one actor in Hollywood who has a penchant for making worthwhile sequels to popular movies, it’s Ryan Reynolds, and as proven with his starring role in the back-to-back hits Deadpool and Deadpool 2, he also has a knack for roles in action comedies. For his next cinematic outing, Reynolds is ditching the dark red spandex to reprise his role as Michael Bryce in the forthcoming film, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.

Set to release this summer, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2017 action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard is bringing back Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman for another bout of high octane insanity.

In Lionsgate’s latest trailer for the forthcoming film, Reynolds and Jackson’s characters have gone their separate ways, with Reynolds’ character suffering from PTSD due to his work as Jackson’s bodyguard in the first film. In an effort to get away from his career as a bodyguard, Reynolds goes on a tropical vacation, but lo and behold, Salma Hayek, who plays Jackson’s wife in the sequel, pulls him right back in.

The rest of the trailer for The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is filled with action-packed fight scenes, hilarious moments, and ridiculous sexual innuendos. The film hits theatres on June 16, 2021, so get ready for The Hitman’s Bodyguard’s Wife by watching the trailer below.

Shaq Applies His Analysis To Rap Lyrics About Him From Cardi B, Drake, Jay-Z, And More

When it comes to pop culture figures that rappers love to reference in their songs, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal stands head and shoulders above the rest — literally, in most cases. Not only does he have an extensive hoop, film, and rap career to draw lyrical comparisons to, but there is a wealth of words that rhyme with “Shaq” — not to mention, his many, many nicknames. The Big Diesel, who’s now best-known for his nightly hoops analysis on NBA on TNT, tried his hand at breaking down some of the bars about him from rap titans like Biggie, Cardi B, Drake, and Jay-Z for Genius’s Between The Lines.

Throughout the course of the video, Shaq gives his impression of the many, many rap lines about him. Nas’s “It Ain’t Hard To Tell” was one of the first songs to make reference to O’Neal (more precisely, to the way “Shaquille holds the pill”), blowing the then-NBA sophomore’s mind, while Mannie Fresh’s “Still Fly” line about buying a car from him turns out to be a true story. Shaq also notes he wasn’t bugged by Biggie’s line about losing money on Lakers games from “I Love The Dough” because it too was based on the performance of the Lakers in their first three playoffs appearances with Shaq on the team, plus due to BIG’s contribution to Shaq’s own album — which he naturally gets into as well.

There’s plenty more to talk about; watch the full video up top.
