Dame Grease Has 50 Unreleased DMX Songs

Any longtime fan of DMX is probably familiar with Dame Grease, the musical mind behind some of the late rapper’s many classic tunes. For some context, Grease was involved in lacing thirteen of It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot’s nineteen songs, including the haunting “Damien” and the breakout “Get At Me Dog.” He’d later go on to work on Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood, And Then There Was X, The Great Depression, Grand Champ, and more — albeit in a reduced capacity.

As Grease was a recurring presence in DMX’s musical career, many were surprised to see the producer sidelined on the recent Exodus album. Evidently, Grease took a moment to address his absence, taking to Instagram to tease the possibility of brand new DMX music produced by him.

“Yall Ready? @dmx #Amen Produced By @damegrease129,” the producer wrote, in a since-deleted post captured by Complex. “I’ll give the masters to @defjam only … New album coming! The legacy continues. The Passion and Soul Recorded at my house with 50 more songs!”

While it’s unclear as to whether Grease actively has the power to bring a new DMX album into the fold, his caveat may be enough to catchDef Jam’s attention. As he states, he’s only willing to part with the masters should Def Jam, DMX’s original label, be involved in piecing the project together. There’s absolutely no reason to believe that Grease is embellishing, as given his longstanding friendship with DMX it’s not exactly hard to fathom that they’ve compiled a few unreleased tracks along the way.

It should be interesting to see how this one unfolds, and knowing that there’s an abundance of unreleased DMX material is a welcome development — provided it’s released with integrity, hence the Def Jam stipulation. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on Dame Grease’s vaulted X music — would you like to see some of this material released?

CJ Shares His “Lemon Pepper Freestyle”

CJ came from out of absolutely nowhere, striking earlier this year with the release of his breakout single “Whoopty.” The track cemented the rising star as one of the next big things out of New York, but it hasn’t all been peachy for the Staten Island native. The 24-year-old rapper has faced allegations that he’s an industry plant, due to his family ties to industry executive James Cruz. While those talks haven’t exactly died down, CJ has been doing more in recent weeks to quell the chatter, dropping his “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” this week and proving why he deserves his spot.

The most recent trend among rappers has been to try out their skills over Drake and Rick Ross’ “Lemon Pepper Freestyle.” In the last week, we’ve seen entries from Toosii, Don Q, Kembe X, and more. CJ decided to do his thing too, aggressively dropping bars over the soul sample and showing that he’s actually got some talent and substance to him. Is it enough to keep you interested, though?

Check out CJ’s new “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” below.

Quotable Lyrics:

First things first, bitch, I’m hit squad brim
And if you got a problem with it, you can suck my dick
N***as wanna kill me cause I probably fucked their bitch
Crazy how a n***a I called my brother done turned snitch

Jim Jones Warns B. Dot’s Top 10 He’ll Outrap Them All

Yesterday, Brian B.Dot Miller sparked discussion by sharing a list of his top ten rappers from the year thus far. Though lined with respectable lyricists across the board, many were unsurprisingly rattled by the order. For some context, Miller had them ranked, from best to worst, as Lil Baby, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Conway, Benny The Butcher, Drake, Freddie Gibbs, Nas, JAY-Z, and Jim Jones.

Though undeniable in superstar staus and universal appeal, Lil Baby’s presence above formidable and active bar spitters like Conway, Benny, and Cole raised eyebrows, especially in an era where lyricists can feel unappreciated by commercial rap audiences. The backlash got to the point where even Benny The Butcher faced some of it, forcing him to clarify that the list was not in fact his own. Suffice it to say, Miller’s Best Rappers list certainly sparked a passionate discourse, with fans and selectees alike getting in on the action.

That includes Jim Jones, who rounded out the tenth spot off the strength of his Harry Fraud-produced The Fraud DepartmentUpon seeing the list, the fiercely competitive New York legend made it clear that he was undervalued, going so far as to channel a gunsligner hellbent on cleaning up the town.

“I didn’t make this list but tell @bdottm th list is cute,” responds Jones, alongside a screenshot of Miller’s ten. “I’m a start chopping this list down one by one lol Matters fact put me in th booth wit anyone of these artist and let’s do it live see who’s left standing. Thts how we can really settle this shit like th westerns shoot th booth up.”

“Makin music is fun till u gotta go head to head I love competition,” he continues, proceeding to raise the stakes. “Anybody wanna rump let me know besides th competition we can make a serious bag turn this into a NFT and everybody walk away wit a bag like a @floydmayweather fight. Yal let me know if any of these artist accept th challenge I’m ready.”

Though it’s likely that Miller factored in additional criteria beyond bar-spitting into the equation, it’s equally likely that Jones sees himself as the dominant lyricist of the pack. Though he’d certainly have fierce competition from certain emcees were his game to set afoot, you have to give the Dipset veteran his credit. Hell, there’s even a case to be made that Jones is in his prime right now — perhaps it’s time he began to receive some more respect on his name.

Boosie Badazz Advises A$AP Rocky To Get Rihanna Pregnant

Boosie Badazz is known for his frequent appearances on VladTV, always managing to sweep up some headlines when he stops by. The Louisiana rap legend is one of the most outspoken men in the music business, saying whatever comes to his mind and facing the consequences afterward. During his latest interview with Vlad, Boosie was asked about his opinion on A$AP Rocky’s relationship with Rihanna, who he has long pined after. Boosie had nothing but nice things to say about the couple but he went left after the interviewer creepily suggested that A$AP Rocky should impregnate Rihanna.

After Boosie advised A$AP Rocky to “put a ring on it,” DJ Vlad disturbingly suggested that he should instead lock her down by getting her pregnant. “He needs to put a baby in there is really what he needs to do,” said Vlad. “I would have been skeeted in her,” joked Boosie. “I would have took that motherf*cker off. If you got a chance, if you hitting [Rihanna] raw, yeah, you gotta raw-dog her. If you’re in love, I don’t see why they should be wearing protection.”

The misogynistic comments have caused minor amounts of backlash this time around as some fans have spoken out about how truly weird these remarks are. “ASAP if you reading this, TAKE YOUR TIME! If you want to really lock her down, MARRY her! Don’t listen to these idiots,” wrote one person in the comments of the video. “The ideology from these men sucks,” argued another person. “They claim women are trying to trap them into having a baby and then you hear stuff like this so it makes me wonder, who is trapping who?”

Boosie has had a romantic fixation on Rihanna for years. His comments shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. See what he’s previously said about the multi-millionaire here.

Viral California Teen Who Fought Off Bear Explains What Was Going Through Her Head

At the beginning of this week, the internet learned that Mystikal wasn’t the only person walking the earth who is more than willing to fight a bear. Thanks to a viral video on TikTok, millions of people were able to see a Southern California teenager fend off a bear that was balancing on a fence in her backyard and fighting with her dogs.

The young woman, 17-year-old Hailey Morinico, was ultimately successful in her efforts to save her pets, and of course, her filmed interaction with the bear sparked several social media reactions that dredged up memories of Mystikal’s iconic “On Da Spot Freestyle,” in which he famously rapped, “If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly Bear, help the bear!”

Days after the original video went viral, Hailey Morinico has publicly spoken out about the situation during an interview with ABC7 Los Angeles.

“Honestly, I did not know it was a bear,” the 17-year-old reveals. “Until right after I pushed it, I didn’t register in my head that it was a bear. I was like ‘It’s an animal, and it’s taking my child.'”

Apparently, Morinico simply felt compelled to protect her dog, which she refers to as her child. When speaking of her Mystikal-esque moment, she said, “I pushed the bear and I was like ‘Oh my god, I just pushed a bear!’ I didn’t want to know what would happen if the bear hurt her or even took her, so I had to do what I had to do.”

Fortunately, Hailey Morinico survived her close encounter with the bear, and she reportedly only suffered two minor injuries: scrapes on her knees and a sprained finger on the hand that she used to push the bear.

Lil Durk Addresses Quando Rondo Threat Speculation

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding one of Lil Durk’s recent new music previews, in which he raps some menacing bars against his adversaries. Many of the Chicago rapper’s fans believe he came after Quando Rondo, who had an altercation with King Von on the night he died. Durk says in the song that his rival better hope his Rolls-Royce is bulletproof because his side is going to “shoot at the stars.” Coincidentally, Quando Rondo just wrapped up a multi-part interview with Angela Yee from the inside of a Rolls-Royce where he spoke about the events leading up to King Von’s shooting.

Fans suggested that Durk may have been targeting the rapper with his rhymes, also coming after the late FBG Duck with some earlier bars. According to Durk though, he wasn’t coming for anybody, in particular, telling the world that he never named anyone in the verse.

“I never said a lame name,” wrote The Voice on Instagram. “Stop lien [sic] on me y’all [checkmark emoji].”

The song’s producer cleverly used gunshot sounds to cover up the last part of one of Durk’s rhymes, with many fans believing that the rapper was dissing FBG Duck. Of course, this message could also apply to the Quando Rondo speculation.

Listen to the song’s preview below and check out Durk’s response underneath. Do you think he was dissing FBG Duck and Quando Rondo?
