Azealia Banks’ Historical Response To Candace Owen’s Inane Juneteenth Comment Is A Complete Shutdown

Love her or hate her, sometimes Azealia Banks is the only woman for the job at hand. Sometimes she’s off on her own planet, trying to discredit Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting claims, or literally boiling her dead cat, but sometimes she’s right on the money. And today’s job at hand? Speaking truth to Candace Owens, the insistently right-wing, Conservative pundit — who also happens to be a Black woman — who tends to make claims like using “they/them” pronouns is “poor grammar,” or declaring the recognition of Juneteenth as a national holiday an extension of “segregation.”

Juneteenth was, rather famously, the day that African-Americans in Texas were liberated after they were purposely kept ignorant of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and remained in slavery for more than two years after the practice was outlawed. But Owens is, for some reason, against making it clear that Black Americans weren’t really free on the 4th of July back in 1776 and recognizing Juneteenth as a federal holiday, like the Senate just unanimously agreed to do. So, Banks broke down for her just what a day in the life for a Black woman in America would’ve been like back then.

“According to this logic, on July 4, 1776, you would still be enslaved,” Banks wrote as the caption on a screenshot post of Owens’ tweet. “Most likely on the verge of starvation due to all of America’s food supply having been prioritized for the war, while you hand sew American flags and struggle to wet nurse some depressed 24-year-old white widow’s sickly child until your nipples are chapped and dry. Whereafter, you will be whipped by her 80-year-old uncle for your own malnourishment and inability to produce milk, then sent to toil over a wood-burning stove — blistering your hands while [being] forced to make a peasantly meal of biscuits and gravy.

You will be watched closely by her irate, sunburned and whisky soaked 80 year old uncle to be sure you do not sneak a single biscuit or fingerful of roux to yourself. after you’ve watched everyone eat, you will be sent to do the cleaning up. Your last task will be brushing the stressed and balding white widows hair to prepare for her sleeping bonnet, a deep rest in her comfortable canopy bed. Next your final descent down the stairs and out the back door where you proudly sleep on a bed bug infested pile of hay in a 6×4 cabin you share with 4 other slaves. Happy Independence Day @realcandaceowens.”

Chrissy Teigen & John Legend Pull Receipts To Prove Michael Costello Allegedly Lied

The drama involving Chrissy Teigen and designer Michael Costello has taken a turn. Days ago, amid Teigen’s ongoing scandals involving allegations of online bullying, the model mogul resurfaced on social media after weeks of silence. She released an apology for her previous behaviors but soon, another accusation popped up from Costello. He claimed Teigen bullied him years back, caused him to hae suicidal thoughts, and blackballed him in the industry, and he even shared screenshots to prove his point.

However, others came forward to call foul on Costello, including designer Maxie J who said he called her a “Black n*gger b*tch,” famed singer Leona Lewis who shared a detailed story of being traumatized by him during a charity fashion show, and Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Falynn Guobadia who also revealed she’d had a distressing encounter with him.

Costello returned to defend himself against the allegations, once again blaming Teigen, saying she was unleashing her friends to make him look bad. Teigen has now addressed Costello’s allegations directly, as has her husband John Legend, and they’re pulling receipts with claims that Costello photoshopped his texts with Teigen. The model shared her screenshots that showed they had a polite and often friendly exchange that continued into 2020. She said she doesn’t understand why he attempted to interject himself into her ongoing drama.

“Please do NOT bully this man under the masquerade of defending me. I’ve taken it ALL. I’ve heard it all,” she wrote. “I just beg for you to know the truth. Michael, you are now causing actual pain to people who are trying to better themselves. Enough. Or this WILL go further. Not here, but an actual court of law. And every dime we win will go to an anti bullying charity focused on turning this sh*t show into a positive. I wish you peace and healing. I have some places I’ve been attending if you’d like the connects.”

Costello returned, doubling down that Teigen bullied him. He said he’s taking a break from social media and turned his Instagram private. Check out a few posts below.

Air Jordan 6 “Midnight Navy” Gets New Presumptive Release Date

To help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 6, Jumpman has been coming through with a plethora of Jordan 6 colorways and retros that have ignited people’s nostalgia. After all, the Air Jordan 6 is the shoe that Michael Jordan won his first-ever championship in, which makes this one of the most significant shoes in the Jordan vault. With numerous potential retros to choose from, Jumpman has been very particular and this Fall, they will be coming through with a re-release for the beloved “Midnight Navy” model.

This shoe first came out back in 2000 and fans have been clamoring for it, ever since. The shoe has a basic white leather upper all while the midsole, tongue, and back heel have navy blue highlights. It is a shoe that looks exceptionally clean and if you are a big fan of white and navy mixed together, these are certainly going to be for you. While this colorway is fairly obscure, there are still a lot of fans out there who remember it and we have a hunch that these are going to sell out fast upon release.

Leon Bridges Laments The Downfall Of A Relationship On “Why Don’t You Touch Me: Part 1”

Leon Bridges has a brand new album called Gold–Diggers Sound coming out on July 23rd and to promote the album, he has been dropping a plethora of new singles that have contained his signature jazzy, and moody r&b sound. On Friday, Bridges dropped Why Don’t You Touch Me: Part 1 which is a beautiful track that will certainly get his fans hyped for this brand new project.

The song is filled with gorgeous guitar passages and vocal melodies that showcase the complexities of Bridges’ voice. Thematically, Bridges speaks about a relationship in which his partner will no longer be intimate with him, regardless of how hard he tries. Bridges continues to make efforts in the relationship but the lack of reciprocation saddens him, leading to a heartbreaking track that will immediately garner an emotional response.

Part 2 of this song will drop next Thursday, so be sure to be on the lookout for that in the near future.

Quotable Lyrics:

I’ve been feeling way too undesired
Before the flaming out, all around, this was all on fire
I can feel the distance go for miles
But cold as you are and it’s causing chills
What’s with all this? You won’t even talk about it

Lakers Front Office To Receive Its Own Fictional Comedy Series

Over the last few years, the Los Angeles Lakers front office has had its fair share of drama. The Lakers are one of the most famous franchises in all of sports and with Jeanie Buss at the helm, there is an interesting family dynamic going on. With this in mind, it only makes sense that the Lakers would receive some sort of fictional representation in pop culture.

Well, that representation is reportedly coming to Netflix next year as Jeanie Buss, Mindy Kaling, and Linda Rambis are set to executive produce a new comedy series that will document the everyday lives of those working for the Lakers front office. All of the names and characters will be fictionalized, although it is meant to be a representation of what goes on between high-level basketball executives.

Per Deadline:

“Written by Ko, the untitled series is inspired by the personal and professional dynamic between the family owners and front office team that together run one of the most iconic franchises in all of sports: the Los Angeles Lakers. The workplace comedy follows fictional team governor Eliza Reed as she navigates NBA ownership and family drama with her best friend by her side.”

The first season will have 10 episodes and from there, Netflix will determine whether or not they want to continue with the show. This seems like an interesting idea, and we’re sure there will be some unique casting choices within the coming months.

Kyrie Irving’s Status For Game 7 Revealed

Kyrie Irving’s play with the Brooklyn Nets had been nothing short of phenomenal this season. With him playing the point, the Nets were looking unstoppable in the playoffs, and with Kevin Durant and James Harden alongside him, it was hard to bet against them. Unfortunately, Irving suffered an ankle injury during Game 4 of the team’s second-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks, and since that time, the Nets have struggled.

While the team won Game 5, they were unable to win Game 6 last night, and now, they are headed towards a Game 7. While some fans were hopeful that Kyrie could be back in time for the pivotal matchup, it has now been revealed that Kyrie simply won’t be ready. This news comes from Steve Nash, who gave the update to Malika Andrews of ESPN.

Now, the Nets will have to rely on KD and Harden, who have been doing their best in Kyrie’s absence. Durant put up an all-time great performance in Game 5 and he dropped another 32 points in Game 6. If the Nets want to move on to the Conference Finals, they will need both KD and Harden to put up career numbers.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to bring you all of the latest updates from the NBA world.

Migos Claim “Culture III” Is AOTY & Call The Grammys Overrated

After a three-year hiatus, the Migos are finally back. Together, Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff are perhaps one of the greatest Hip-Hop groups out right now, and in honor of the release of their fourth studio album Culture III, the three Atlanta rappers have stepped into The Shade Room for an exclusive interview.

Throughout their discussion with Rhélin T and Buzy Baker, the Migos cover a wide variety of topics, including whether they deserved to be on the 2010s Hip-Hop Mt. Rushmore, their penchant for starting new lingo, and how they feel when other artists copy their cadence. However, the most interesting moments throughout their interview arose when speaking on their latest full-length album as well as their stance on the Grammys.   Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff of Migos perform during The SHAQ Bowl for Super Bowl LV on February 07, 2021 in Tampa, Florida.

After Rhélin T asks what fans should expect from Culture III and questions if the Migos consider it to be the album of the summer, all three rappers confidently respond, “It’s the album of the year.

Later on in the interview (near the 15:30-mark), Buzy Baker brings up the group’s two Grammy nominations from 2017 and lets them know that he thinks they got robbed that year. From that point on the Migos proceed to blast the Grammys, with Takeoff starting the conversation by saying, “I feel like its overrated, oversaturated. I feel like they be bringing artists there, great artists, and we put our hard work, blood, sweat, and tears into our body of work just to crush our feelings.”

Quavo continues to suggest the BET Awards as a more promising alternative to the Grammys, saying, “We need to create our own awards and platforms that mess with the artists. It’ll mean more to us ’cause we can appreciate it. I just think we need put all our power into the BET Awards because the BET Awards really mean something.”
