Nike KD 14 “Aquafresh” Unveiled: Official Photos

Kevin Durant might not be in the playoffs anymore but that won’t be stopping Nike from putting out new colorways of the Nike KD 14. It is his latest signature shoe and for the most part, it has proven to be quite successful amongst fans. KD has always had one of the best signature sneaker lines in the world and he is keeping up that trend with his latest model.

As the summer marches forward, one of the Nike KD 14s to be revealed is this “Aquafresh” colorway which can be found below. In the official images, you can see how this shoe has a very obvious toothpaste influence. The entire upper is coated in white textures that have some light blue spread throughout. From there, we have red and light blue on the tongue and the laces. However, perhaps the most obvious toothpaste reference is the outsole which features a unique blend of white, red, and blue.

There is no release date for this brand new model although you can expect it to drop soon for $150 USD. Let us know what you think of this brand new concept, in the comments section below.

The Best New Hip-Hop Hip-Hop This Week

The best new hip-hop this week includes albums, videos, and songs from Doja Cat, Tyler The Creator, and more.

This week saw the releases of Jaden’s “Bye,” Jazz Carter and Buddy’s “Two Of Em,” Mick Jenkins’ “Truffles,” Joyner Lucas’ “Legend” with Rick Ross, Kyle’s “Love Me Like You Say You Love Me,” Big Sean’s “Freshman 10 Freestyle,” Rexx Life Raj’s “Lockheed Martin,” and EST Gee’s “Capitol 1,” along with the releases listed below.

Here is the best of hip-hop this week ending March 19, 2021.

Albums/EPs/Mixtapes

Doja Cat — Planet Her

Sure, it’s not technically a hip-hop album, any more than it is strictly pop, dance, or R&B. But Doja’s third effort features some of her sharpest rapping, tapping into a number of contemporary styles from Cloud rap to EDM, always with an eyebrow-raising punchline or clever twist on a familiar cadence. This is creativity personified; what’s more hip-hop than that?

Juicy J — The Hustle Still Continues [Deluxe]

Juicy has evolved over time into a shepherd and mentor of the modern-day, hedonistic trap rap scenes that take so much inspiration from his work with Three Six Mafia. This deluxe version of his 2020 album adds an astonishing number of new songs and collaborators, bringing in bright new stars like Lil Baby, Pooh Shiesty, and Rico Nasty.

MIKE — Disco!

Back in the late ’90s, MIKE would have been considered a backpacker. Now, he’s something of a contrarian presence, the rare traditionalist who isn’t pursuing an agenda to “bring back real hip-hop,’ instead locking in on his own iconoclastic trajectory of rebellious super rhyming style.

Ski Mask The Slump God — Sin City

The South Florida firestarter returns after a long hiatus to resume his campaign of punk-rap terror in a world in which he’s less of an exception than the prototype of an entire movement — a movement that’s closer to the mainstream than ever before.

Tyler The Creator — Call Me If You Get Lost

Tyler delivers his own version of DJ Drama’s popular Gangsta Grillz mixtape series, splitting the difference between gruff-voiced, braggadocious rhymes and the tender soul of Igor and Flower Boy. The effect is intoxicating.

Singles/Videos

ASAP TyY — “1990”

Yes, I know: There are soooo many members of ASAP Mob, you probably forgot all about TyY. Well, shame on you, because he’s every bit as charismatic and clever as his more mainstream favorite homeboys.

Beanz — “As Seen On TV” Feat. Benny The Butcher

Beanz, a truly underrated rapper, gets to shine alongside one of the more popular purveyors of straight-up, bruising bars, which may lead to her finally receiving her due when her debut album Tables Turn drops this summer.

Bfb Da Packman — “Weekend At Solomon’s”

Dropping his debut album this week, the hilarious Flint, MI rapper employs a number of hip-hop’s most hyped names on the tracklist, from XXL Freshman Coi Leray to standup comic turned rapper Zack Fox, but he goes for dolo here, and this track is all the more entertaining for it.

BlueBucksClan — “Rap City”

LA party rap duo BlueBucks has taken the city by storm, between their infectious beat choices and sports-related rap references, they’ve quickly become a favorite of the block party/house party set — whichever set they claim.

KenTheMan — “I’m Perfect”

Look at that title. KenTheMan’s name has been buzzing on the social media streets as the successor to the crown passed from Cardi to Megan to Latto to Flo Milli, and this track is the — ahem — perfect example of why.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Fandango Reacts To Being Let Go By The WWE

The WWE can be a brutal business at times and over the last year, it has felt like a multitude of wrestlers have been let go from the company. Vince McMahon has been known to be a savvy businessman over the years although this can sometimes turn into some pretty hefty job losses amongst wrestlers who have made an impact on the wrestling world.

Today, the WWE let go wrestlers like Fandango, Tyler Breeze, Tony Nese, Arturo Ruas, August Grey, and a whole host of others. Fandango was the most prominent wrestler on the list as he has been with the WWE for upwards of 14 years. Fandango rose to prominence thanks to his win against Chris Jericho in his first-ever Wrestlemania, and while having to leave the WWE hurts, he is still grateful for the time he had with the company.

“Thank you @VinceMcMahon @TripleH @StephMcMahon. Thank you for the last 14 years. I truly appreciate it!” It’s never easy to leave an organization that you’ve been with for so long, although it’s good to see that Fandango still has love for all of those who were involved in his career.

With the financial hardships the WWE has dealt with over the past year, we could see more cuts in the near future.

Big Sean Takes Fans Back To 2010 In The “Freshman 10” Music Video

While the latest class of XXL Freshmen is actively working on winning the Hip-Hop community over, Big Sean has come forward to treat fans with a welcomed dose of nostalgia. Next week marks the 10-year anniversary of his debut album Finally Famous, and in honor of that milestone achievement, Sean Don has released a re-mixed and remastered version of the 2011 project along with a sentimental new track.

“Freshman 10 (Freestyle),” a track which Sean revealed on Thursday had been finished two years ago and received co-signs from his fellow XXL Freshmen Wiz Khalifa and J. Cole, is essentially a walk down memory lane. Sean shows off his storytelling skills and witty lyricism and walks listeners through what he describes as “one of the craziest days of [his] life.”

Hours after the song’s release, the Detroit 2 artist has now shared a music video to go along with the nostalgic new track, and both dedicated Big Sean fans and longtime supporters of the XXL Freshman Cover will be delighted to see archival footage of Sean, Nipsey Hussle, Wiz Khalifa, OJ Da Juiceman, Kendrick Lamar, and countless others.

The video offers a major glimpse into the state of Hip-Hop at the start of the last decade, and it’s inspiring to see how far the artists featured in the video have come. Stream the remastered 10-year anniversary version of Big Sean’s debut album Finally Famous below and head back to the top to check out the visuals for “Freshman 10 (Freestyle).”

EST Gee Laughs All The Way To The Bank In His ‘Capitol 1’ Video

Louisville rapper EST Gee returns today with another new single to build on the rising rumble he’s cultivated over the past year. “Capitol 1” is a thumping song that oozes menace as the street-bred rapper threatens his ops and shows off his cash. The video accompanying the track finds Gee waving a stack of said cash in front of the camera as he sips from a red cup, mugging alongside his crew while draped in glittering diamond-encrusted jewelry. He also FaceTimes his mentor Lil Baby, who helped launch his career by putting him on the 2020 “Real As It Gets” and originally offered to sign him to 4PF.

While that plan didn’t exactly come to fruition, EST Gee did manage to land a deal instead with Yo Gotti’s CMG Records, where he shares space with fellow up-and-comers 42 Dugg, Blac Youngsta, and Moneybagg Yo. He also has a number of successful singles with many of the aforementioned cohort of trap rappers, including “Members Only” with Dugg, “Special” with Moneybagg, and “Get Money” with the label honcho Gotti. He also popped up on fellow Louisville native Jack Harlow’s acclaimed debut album earlier this year, celebrating the world-famous “Route 66.” The Louisville native is on the verge of a huge breakout thanks to some choice features but proves he can carry a song on his own here.

Air Jordan 1 High OG “Brotherhood” Gets A Release Date: Details

Jordan Brand has been getting more and more creative when it comes to where they get the inspiration for their various colorways. This is especially true on the Air Jordan 1 where we have already seen a whole plethora of colors drape the iconic silhouette. A few weeks ago, we previewed a brand new Air Jordan 1 High OG that had been dubbed “Omege Psi Phi” which was confusing to a lot of people. Now, thanks to @zsneakerheadz, we know that this shoe is now called “Brotherhood” and that it is based on Michael Jordan’s college fraternity, hence the original name.

In the Instagram post below, you can see how this shoe has a very unique colorway for the Jordan 1. The toe box, back heel, and outsole are all gold while the overlays are purple. From there, we have white on the tongue as well as the side panels which is ultimately what helps add some contrast to the shoe. Overall, it’s a very solid aesthetic and it definitely has a Lakers vibe to it.

For now, it is believed that this shoe will drop on February 26th of 2022 although it remains to be seen whether or not this sticks. Keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates pertaining to this model.

Saweetie Says “Pretty Privilege” Worked Against Her

Saweetie’s long-awaited debut album Pretty B*tch Music was slated to be released this week. She’s been teasing its arrival since last year, already unleashing the singles “Tap In,” “Back to the Streets,” “Best Friend,” and “Fast (Motion)” from the upcoming project. Now scheduled for a later release, the California native announced she pushed the project back to rework a few songs

“And one of my goals is for people to really feel something with every song, so I had to go back and reconstruct some songs. Just know that I’m a perfectionist and it’s on the way,” revealed the singer earlier this week. In a recent interview, the “Best Friend” artist got candid about what “pretty privilege means to her, and how it has impacted her life.

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images

“And there are some pretty people who abuse whatever privilege they have or they’re given,” began the rapper in a new Power 106.1 interview. The interviewer then interjects to add that the term is “pretty privilege.”

“Right, but it’s just like, for me, honestly, throughout my whole life, being pretty was kind of like a, it was kind of like, how do I say this…it wasn’t a privilege for me. I was judged, rumors were made up about me, and it was kind of always working against me. And it’s just like, for me, I never thought of pretty as glamorizing my existence as a human being.”

“So when I say Pretty B*tch Music, I’m not talking about your face I’m talking about your aura, I’m talking about your energy, I’m talking about your self-esteem,” she added.

“You got pretty energy?” asked the host, to which Saweetie responds, “Yeah, don’t nobody want no stank, ugly energy…When I say pretty I think the biggest misconception is people thinking about fashion or your ice or your jewelry, or your makeup but for me, pretty is like your confidence. I love me a confident woman.”

As for when Pretty B*tch Music will be arriving, Saweetie has yet to set a date for when we can expect the debut project.

The shoe has been dropping in various new colorways and fans have been scooping up every single pair. There have been colorways for both men and women and so far, it seems like the Nike Dunk Low won’t be losing its popularity, any time soon. While it did experience a fall off, the comeback has been magical to watch, and today, we were shown teasers for a new colorway called “Grey Fog.”

This model was shown off by the Twitter account @brandon1an and as you can see in the photos below, this is a very basic yet clean colorway that will match a multitude of outfits. The upper is covered in white leather all while the overlays are a cool shade of grey. Sure, it isn’t the most extravagant colorway of all time, but sometimes, basic is all you really need.

Diplo Reportedly Sued By Ex-Fling For Sexual Battery

A couple months ago a report surfaced that stated Diplo was suing a woman named Shelly Auguste for harassment, stalking and revenge porn. He described Auguste as an “unstable fan who manipulated herself into” his life. Their interactions reportedly occurred years ago, but Diplo claimed that she hasn’t stopped harassing him. Well fast forward to today and that very woman is now filing her own lawsuit against the hit DJ, claiming Diplo pursued her when she was underage, had sex with her when she was an adult, and never disclosed he had an STI.

According to TMZ, Shelley claims that Diplo first contacted her via Twitter when she was 17 and solicited nude photos of her, while also sending her sexually explicit and vulgar comments. She alleges they exchanged explicit photos before meeting in person for the first time in 2018, when she was 21. Auguste claims she later moved to L.A., and Diplo really began pressuring her for sex by sending unsolicited graphic photos of himself in sexual situations.

Then, Auguste says she heard a rumor Diplo had herpes and questioned him about it in late 2018, and he got angry and cut off all communication. However, she says they made up in 2019, and in April of that year, she claims she gave in to the pressure and lost her virginity to Diplo.

In addition, Auguste alleges Diplo recorded video of their sexual encounter despite her telling him she didn’t want that. She claims she was eventually diagnosed with chlamydia, and believes she got it from Diplo because she says he was her only sexual partner at the time. She claims he ignored her when she confronted him about it too.

As for Diplo’s side of things, his attorney, Bryan Freedman, tells TMZ, “As has already been made clear in the restraining order we obtained against this individual, she has repeatedly stalked, defamed, threatened and attempted to shake down [Diplo] and his family.” Freedman continues, “These latest false claims are just part of that ongoing campaign of harassment, and we will not allow them to deter us from pursuing justice against her to the fullest extent possible under the law.”

Curren$y Discusses Making His Own Strain & Stuffing Cones On “How To Roll”

In the latest episode of How To Roll, HNHH welcomes veteran New Orleans rapper Curren$y. Arriving alongside the arrival of his latest project, Welcome To Jet Life Recordings 2, Curren$y’s appearance on How To Roll finds him discussing what it’s like to make his own strain, his distaste for Blue Dream, the craziest strain names, and much more.

“I’m a OG — I smoke OG,” the Jet Life rapper admits. “But my scientists are all like, ‘Spitta, you’ve gotta get into these other styles of bud, these smells, and these flavors.’ So we’re creating some things right now. I’m not gonna give up the recipe just yet, but I’ll let you know when these are on the shelves. Right now, I’m just taking it through a test-run.”

Curren$y for HotNewHipHop "How To Roll"

For Spitta, making sure that his strain is as high quality as possible is what matters most. He reveals that he has a reputation for removing his name from unreleased strains if they don’t meet his expectations. “Even though I know if they put the logo on it, it’s gonna sell, I’m like nah,” Curren$y admits. “A muhf*cker gon’ buy it because my name on it and it’s not good. I’ve never done them that [way] with a mixtape, you know what I’m saying? It said my name — it sounded like how it was supposed to sound.”

Later on in the video, the Pilot Talk artist also tells the story about how he fell in love with stuffing cones, which apparently happened while he was visiting Amsterdam. “It’s my complete way of life bruh,” Curren$y says. “I first found a pack of cones — they weren’t the brand I’m smoke now — [when] I was in Amsterdam. The flight was pushed back like four hours, so we kicked it a bit outside the hotel. I went into this coffee shop, and i had little two packs of these big f*cking cones.”

Curren$y for HotNewHipHop "How To Roll"

“I was like, ‘Oh yeah, let’s go. All the weed I have left into those two and smoke them onto the way to the aiport, right?’ Nah,” he continues, revealing that he actually wasn’t able to smoke on the shuttle and in most public places in Amsterdam. “The shuttle told me I couldn’t smoke the weed. I got these two f*cking brontosaurus burger, f*cking Flintstone cones. Get to the airport and never had a chance to smoke them. There’s no little pavilion for smoking…[so] I went into the bathroom and I ate ’em.”
