Courtney Love Accuses Olivia Rodrigo Of Stealing Her 1994 Hole Album Cover

Courtney Love is less than pleased with Olivia Rodrigo’s rendition of her 1994 album cover for her band Hole, despite an initial seemingly-cordial response.

On Hole’s Live Through This album cover, Love poses as a prom queen holding flowers with edgy, smudged, black mascara. Olivia released strikingly similar pictures to promote her concert film with the same tiara, flowers, and messy-make-up look.

Courtney’s reaction to the homage was not as warm as it first appeared, though. On Love’s Instagram, she posted a picture from Olivia’s photoshoot with the caption, “Spot the difference! #twinning!” and tagged the Disney star. Thinking it was a compliment, Olivia responded, “love u and live through this sooooo much.”

Courtney went on to make her dissatisfaction clear though, when she later shared on her Facebook:

Stealing an original idea and not asking permission is rude. There’s no way to be elegant about it. I’m not angry. It happens all the time to me. But this was bad form. That’s not bullying or bomb throwing. This persons music has nothing to do with my life. Possibly never will. It was rude And I gave every right to stick up for my work. Don’t gatekeep me! I’m honorable as fuck to my fellow artists, and I expect the same.

Facebook commenters came to Olivia’s defense one stating, “It’s especially silly for someone from the grunge era to complain about stealing. Since grunge bands took from each other all the time.”

Other fans came to Olivia’s defense by pointing out the concept of a crying prom queen was never Courtney’s to begin with, one fan noting: “Someone call Carrie so she can weigh in on this whole Courtney Love vs. Olivia Rodrigo debate” referring to the iconic 1976 horror film.

Olivia has yet to respond to Courtney calling her out.

Young Nudy Announces “The DR. EV4L vs RICH SHOOTER” Tour

COVID-19 cases are declining and the world is beginning to reopen similar to how we once knew it. Last night, the BET Awards took place with near-full capacity. Artists were doing live performances with a full crowd in front of them. The same goes for concerts and festivals. Many major name artists are anticipating a full return by the end of the year but there are still a few that are making sure that they touch the people this summer.

Doja Cat & Gunna Croon Together On “Why Why”

On an album that has had an interesting band of features, including J.I.D. and Young Thug, Doja Cat keeps adding to what’s already Planet Her‘s lengthy list. Recruiting the latter’s labelmate, Gunna, the two bounce off each other seamlessly on “Why Why.”

At this point, every song she drops seems to be on pace to make an appearance on our charts. This morning, there is no exception. Doja boasts up and down the whirling beat, while Gunna comes in and makes his presence felt with some very reassuring bars. For their first time collaborating, the two sound as fluid as a pair can be. Who doesn’t want to hear Doja scat her way across the hook and Gunna rapping about taking a private flight over to the Philippines? Of course, that’s a trick question, because it’s what we’ve all been asking for somewhere deep down.

With a handful of new songs being released on the project’s deluxe edition, it’s safe to say that “Why Why” is its standout, and any other time these two link up we can be expecting more of the same.

Make you smile just to help you show all your white teeth

Fat Joe Thinks Lil Baby Is The Best Rapper Out Of His Generation

Every few years, there’s a new rapper that emerges that wins over the hearts of hip-hop heads, and right now, that’s Lil Baby. The 26-year-old artist has been crushing it on every single track and so far, it seems like he still has a long career ahead of him.

Fat Joe recently sat down with B.Dot for Complex’s Brackets where they broke down the best money anthems. When Lil Baby and 42 Dugg’s “We Paid” was brought up, Joe offered praise for the My Turn artist. “In the newer generation, here’s no one better than Lil Baby right now,” Joe said. “We’ve seen all this. We, as Hip Hop historians, we saw when Lil Wayne emerged, we saw when Eminem emerged and Lil Baby is in a lane by himself right now.”

Joe revealed that he truly came to this conclusion when he was riding around with DJ Khaled the other night. Khaled was playing Joe some tunes including a Baby record which he deemed the best.

“It’s sad because the other night I’m with Khaled in his convertible Maybach,” Fat Joe continued. “He played three records in there, and they were three of the biggest artists of the time. He played one guy that’s been winning for ten years straight. He played this group, but then he played that Lil Baby, and it sounded like this guy was the best.”

It seems like the award shows would agree. Last night, Lil Baby opened up the BET Awards last night alongside Kirk Franklin for a performance of their Space Jam single, “We Win.”

Air Jordan 5 “Racer Blue” Coming Next Year: First Look

One of the more iconic silhouettes to come out of the Jordan Brand library is the Air Jordan 5. While it may not be the most popular, it has certainly stamped its legacy alongside many of the other incredible silhouettes from that late 80s to early 90s era. Last year, the shoe received a ton of new colorways for its 30th anniversary and since that time, Jumpman has kept the party going with a whole host of other offerings. In fact, it appears as though 2022 will even have its fair share of Air Jordan 5s.

Thanks to the Instagram sneaker insider @zsneakerheadz, we now have information about the Air Jordan 5 “Racer Blue,” which is supposed to drop next year. As you can see in the Instagram post below, this sneaker will have a black upper all while the tongue has silver 3M and a blue Jumpman logo in the middle. When it comes to the midsole, it will mostly be blue although the shark teeth will be black.

This model has been given a tentative release date of February 12th of 2022 although this date is subject to change. With this in mind, keep it locked to HNHH as we will continue to bring you all of the latest updates from the sneaker world.

“Black Widow” Trailer Unveils One Of Marvel’s Most Formidable Villains

Although it was originally scheduled to release in May 2020, Marvel’s Black Widow is finally arriving at the start of next month, and it will officially signal the first cinematic offering of the MCU’s fourth phase. Starring Scarlett Johansson despite her character’s death in Avengers: EndgameBlack Widow is a superhero spy thriller that will see Johansson reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff in order to take on one of Marvel’s most formidable mercenaries: the Taskmaster.

Titled “Fight,” the forthcoming film’s latest teaser reveals never-before-seen footage of Romanoff coming into contact with the Taskmaster for the first time. The clip shows off the Taskmaster’s mysterious technology, which Uproxx reveals is a movie adaptation of Taskmaster’s “photogenic reflexes” in the comics, which allows him to copy the fighting style of any opponent, including Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Panther, and Black Widow.

According to Uproxx, the Taskmaster was a fight trainer named Tony Masters who went on to become one of Marvel’s most ruthless villains and a formidable adversary to The Avengers. Apparently, he has duked it out with Spider-Man so many times that he’s considered one of the character’s signature villains, so the Taskmaster’s feature in Black Widow definitely hints at a major reworking of the Marvel mercenary.

Whether you’re extremely excited to see Scarlett Johansson‘s character face off against the Taskmaster or you just found out who the iconic Marvel villain is, you can catch a brief glimpse of the Taskmaster in the teaser for Black Widow below. The film is set to hit theatres and Disney+ (with Premier Access) on Friday, July 9.

Scottie Pippen Calls Phil Jackson A Racist In New Interview

Scottie Pippen has been making waves over the last week or so thanks to some massive hot takes about the NBA and his playing career. For example, Pippen was recently interviewed for GQ and in the story, Pippen came out and accused Phil Jackson of giving Toni Kukoc the final shot in a playoff game because he was white. Many fans were confused by this story as it seemed like a bit of a stretch. Now, however, Pippen is doubling down on his racial accusations.

During an interview with Dan Patrick, Pippen spoke about the Kukoc play and how it made him feel. Patrick noted that Pippen made it seem like Jackson is a racist, which is an assertion Pippen said he agreed with. In fact, Pippen noted that he has no problems at all calling Jackson a racist.

“I don’t think it’s a mystery, you need to read between the fine lines. It was my first year playing without Michael Jordan, why wouldn’t I be taking that last shot?” Pippen said in a previous interview. “I been through all the ups and downs, the battles with the Pistons and now you gonna insult me and tell me to take it out? I thought it was a pretty low blow. I felt like it was an opportunity to give [Kukoc] a rise. It was a racial move to give him a rise. After all I’ve been through with this organization, now you’re gonna tell me to take the ball out and throw it to Toni Kukoc? You’re insulting me. That’s how I felt.”

Many fans have been digging up old comments in which Jackson said some questionable remarks, which are now being used as a way to confirm Pippen’s allegations. For instance, Jackson once said “The players have been dressing in prison garb the last five or six years. All the stuff that goes on, it’s like gangster, thuggery stuff.” He also referred to LeBron’s inner circle as his “posse” which certainly had some racial overtones to it.

Needless to say, Pippen is making people re-think Jackson’s legacy, which is something not many people saw coming.

The Biggest Moments Of The 2021 BET Awards

The 2021 BET Awards were, as usual, full of surprises, with enough moments that lit up social media to forgive the at-times seemingly slapdash and slightly overlong production (going to commercial during performances should simply not be a thing, ever, especially in a show that ran almost four hours). Whether those moments prompted wig removals, like Jazmine Sullivan’s virtuoso vocal performance of “On It” with Ari Lennox, or roasting, like DaBaby’s bursting-at-the-seams, off-sync rendition of “Ball If I Want To,” BET put on a show worth talking about, pulling its fair share of online buzz even amid an NBA conference finals game with lots of dynamite moments of its own.

With so much chatter throughout the show, though, there will still a few moments that rose above the rest, causing more than just a stir. Instead, they felt more like culture-shifting occurrences, whose residual effects will ripple outward like waves in a pond when a stone breaks the surface. These may end up being the ones that inspire retrospectives as we look back on them as the inciting incidents for huge changes in the way things are. Here are the three biggest moments of the 2021 BET Awards.

Cardi B Announces Her Pregnancy

Joining Migos to perform their Culture III standouts “Straightenin‘” and “Type Sh*t,” Cardi B pulled another pregnancy reveal for the ages, walking out midway through the performance in a rhinestone-studded bodysuit with a sheer midriff to show off her belly. The crowd pop when she does says everything that needs to be said; Cardi is already helping to carve out a new status quo for mothers in entertainment, but adding another child to the mix makes things even more interesting. It’s one thing to be a working artist while pregnant, it’s another to keep working when you have a child, but it’s an another-other thing entirely to get pregnant again, keep working, and still outwork the dudes — including the one who helped make all these kids in the first place.

Lil Nas X Remembers The Times — And Makes Out With One Of His Dancers

When Lil Nas popped out in dazzling golden ancient Egypt-inspired regalia to perform “Montero,” it didn’t take long for Twitter to draw comparisons to Michael Jackson’s 1991 music video for “Remember The Times.” After all, that was the theme for Mike’s video, which despite being way before Nas’ time, is such a fixture of Black culture that I’m sure he’d been exposed to it about 100 times before he hit puberty. So when he broke out into the iconic choreography from that video with his dancers, a thrill of satisfaction shot through viewers’ timelines — then transformed when he called back to another legendary award show moment. In 2003, Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera made history with a same-sex kiss at the MTV VMAs, solidifying their status as queer icons. I imagine we’ll look back on Nas’ kiss with his dancer the same way, as a watershed moment of representation. Happy Pride!

Megan Thee Stallion Refuses(?) To Perform Alongside DaBaby

This one’s more of a developing situation, but viewers couldn’t help but note that despite their long string of collaborative hits together — including DJ Khaled’s “I Did It,” which they performed last night — Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby’s relationship seems to have strained to the point where at least one of them won’t share a stage with the other. While there could be any number of reasons why Meg slunk off stage after finishing her verse for “I Did It” without joining the group shot at the end (which included DaBaby, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and HER), considering their recent social media spat, which resulted in Meg unfollowing DaBaby across platforms, it’s almost assured we haven’t seen the end of this saga. One or the other may soon be called upon to address the rather obvious moment — in which case, another round of reactions wouldn’t be out of the question.

Coi Leray & Pressa Get Handsy On The BET Awards Red Carpet

The BET 2021 Awards took place over the weekend and marked the first in-person ceremony following the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual awards show had a lot to make up for and did just that. The ceremony was complete with impressive performances from the biggest names in music right now like Lil Nas X, Megan thee Stallion, City Girls, and more.

Cardi B stole the show with her pregnancy reveal during a surprise appearance for Migos’ “Type Sh*t,” while Lil Uzi and JT packed on the PDA while walking the red carpet. Megan thee Stallion and Pardison Fontaine also showed off their couple status. Coi Leray and Pressa made their red carpet debut as a couple as well, embracing each other as they posed for cameras.
