Eminem’s Ex-Wife Kim Scott Hospitalized For Suicide Attempt: Report

Eminem’s ex-wife Kim Scott was reportedly hospitalized at the end of last month following a suicide attempt. According to TMZ, police and emergency workers responded to a call of a suicidal person at Kim’s Michigan home on July 30, and Kim was so combative that she needed to be restrained before being hospitalized.

The 46-year-old woman, who has often been referenced in Eminem’s music, reportedly cut herself and had multiple small lacerations on the back of her leg. Sources report that a “good amount of blood” was on the floor when police arrived. Scott was taken to the hospital for a medical and psychological evaluation, and she has since returned home. It was not revealed whether she was given any additional care.

Kim is the biological mother of Eminem’s daughter Hailie, as well as his adopted daughter Whitney. She was married to the rapper for two years, beginning in 1999. After getting divorced, they remarried for a brief time in 2006.

This is not her first suicide attempt. In an interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that she attempted suicide after hearing Eminem’s fans embracing his diss song against her. Back in 2015, she attempted suicide again, admitting, “I sat at the end of a road where I knew that no one else but myself would get hurt. Yes, I drank, I took pills, I hit the gas and aimed for a pole.”

We will continue to keep you updated as more information is released. For now, please say a prayer for the Mathers and Scott families.

Lil Nas X Reacts To Passing DaBaby In Monthly Listeners

Lil Nas X is officially the most popular male rapper on Spotify, surpassing DaBaby this week with 52 million monthly listeners. Despite having the most-certified song in music history (“Old Town Road”), the rapper says that this is the most monthly listeners he’s ever had.

“Wow this is insane,” wrote the rapper on Twitter. “this is the most i’ve ever had in my career. thank u to everybody listening.”

This comes as Lil Nas presently has two songs that are performing very well on streaming. Most recently, he released his latest single “INDUSTRY BABY” featuring Jack Harlow, which followed up the release of “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”.

The statistic likely means even more to Lil Nas X considering who he surpassed to become the most popular male rapper on Spotify. DaBaby has spent the last few weeks under attack from fans who were upset by the homophobic comments he made at Rolling Loud. Much of Lil Nas’ current musical era has been inspired by his sexual identity, being unapologetically gay in his performances, music videos, and more. He hasn’t spoken much about DaBaby’s comments, but this has to feel like a win of sorts.

Lil Nas is finishing up his debut album, for which he confirmed he shot the cover artwork. The project should be dropping within the next few weeks. Congratulations on becoming the most listened-to male rapper on Spotify!

50 Cent Believes DaBaby Will Bounce Back And Explains Why With A Chris Brown Comparison

DaBaby is in the midst of a PR nightmare following his controversial HIV/AIDS comments made on-stage at Rolling Loud a few weeks ago. The way 50 Cent sees it, though, DaBaby can actually bounce back from this.

In an interview with E!’s Nightly Pop (as Billboard notes), 50 — who assumed a mentorship role to the rapper shortly before this all happened — was asked about DaBaby and he summarized his view on the situation, saying:

“He is a really talented, special artist, right? And he just transitioned from being in that pool that everyone’s in, as a rap artist. They didn’t notify him that he’s turning into a superstar. There’s nobody that tells you, ‘Now you’re being held to these standards that are mainstream standards that you can’t say things, you can’t do these different things.’ He didn’t have a publicist involved, and this is why the response took so long. Even his apology, his first apology, made it worse. […] He’s only two years into his career. There’s no artist development, there’s no strong A&R, and there’s definitely no media training.”

When asked if he thinks DaBaby can bounce back, 50 said, “Yeah, he will, as long as he keeps the consistency with the music. He’ll be back like… remember they canceled Chris Brown, like five, six times?”
