The Avengers Get The Help They Need In Final “Eternals” Trailer

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a rough spot — not financially, of course. While Disney’s studios continue to pump out box office hits and incredibly popular Disney+ series’, the characters within the MCU are still trying to find peace for humanity. As the power and influence of MCU villains rise after the defeat of Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, Spiderman, Thor, and Captain America are gonna need some new help. Thankfully, the Eternals are on the way. This week, The Eternals debuted the final trailer for the upcoming film, offering a promising glimpse of what to expect. Eternals will follow the never-before-seen group of immortal aliens as they gather back together to save humanity from the Deviants.

Eternals, directed by Oscar-winning Chloé Zhao, will star Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajax, and Gemma Chan as Sersi. The trailer shows Sersi explaining that the Eternals’ purpose was to protect humanity from the Deviants. Though they haven’t been called to aid in the many atrocities found in the MCU thus far, Sersi explains the Eternals were “instructed not to interfere in any human conflicts unless Deviants are involved.”

Despite the exploration of a new story, Eternals looks also to be memorable in Zhao’s beautiful cinematography and CGI choices. As shown in the trailer, Eternals looks to be the most vibrant and aesthetically innovative Marvel feature yet.

Eternals will release in theaters on November 5th. Check out the trailer below:

Stephen A. Smith Reveals His Pick For Best Player In The NBA

Stephen A. Smith is one of the most opinionated men in the sports media world, and it is ultimately why he is so famous. In the eyes of many, Stephen A. has virtually carried ESPN over the last decade, and he will continue to do so for years to come. During every single episode of First Take, Smith can be heard delivering massive hot takes, all while upsetting fans in the process.

Just yesterday, Smith took to First Take with his latest hot take in which he revealed who he believes is the best player in the NBA right now. While most fans would say LeBron James or maybe even Giannis Antetokounmpo, Smith decided to go with Kevin Durant, who just came off of a gold medal win at the Olympics.

“Kevin Durant is the best player in the world. Period. There is no NBA player, including LeBron James, at this point in time that is a better player than Kevin Durant in the world. Nobody!” Smith said emphatically. As it stands, Smith is convinced of who is at the top and there is no one who will convince him otherwise.

While it is hard to argue against Kevin Durant, there are certainly some people out there who will take objection to Smith’s assertion. After all, KD is a polarizing player who has a lot of pressure on him heading into next season.

Let us know who you think the best player in the NBA is, in the comments below.

Aaliyah Captured Heartbreak On “Never Comin Back”

Aug 25th, 2021 will mark 20 years since the untimely passing of Aaliyah. The groundbreaking and ever-influential R&B singer died in 2001 following a plane crash in the Bahamas at the age of 22. And while her legacy continues to live on, it was only until this week that her catalog became widely available on streaming services. Many of her fans have revisited her catalog in recent days while younger fans might only be getting fully introduced to Aaliyah’s genius.

One In A Million, Aaliyah’s sophomore album, was a glimpse into her maturity from a young girl to a woman as she explored topics like heartbreak and relationships. “Never Comin’ Back” plays out like a live performance where Aaliyah provides empowering words for the ladies and puts the fellas on notice. With Timbaland’s smooth, signature production, Aaliyah reflects on lost love, growth, and the impact of a man’s actions.

Sequentially, the song follows “Heartbroken” where Aaliyah details the hardships of shakey relationships where she’s always being let down. In that sense, “Never Comin’ Back” is a record that serves to empower not only Aaliyah but any other woman who can relate.

Quotable Lyrics
I once was young, but
I’m all grown up, and
I know ’bout love, and
I used to love you
You tried to play me
And then persuade me

Elon Musk Announces New Tesla Robot Capable Of Human Labor

Outspoken Tesla CEO, stock market influence, and modern-day mad scientist Elon Musk is continuing his attempt to turn the near future into that of a science fiction novel. With self-driving cars and spaceships already under his belt, Musk is now looking to add more futuristic possibilities to his itinerary. This week, the Tesla CEO debuted a prototype model of the Tesla Bot — a robot powered by artificial intelligence with human capabilities. His hope is that the Tesla Bot will have profound effects on the economy by replacing the most laborious and dangerous human tasks and jobs. Keep in mind, this is the same man who called artificial intelligence the world’s “biggest existential threat.”

“In the future, physical labor will be a choice,” Musk said during his demonstration in this week’s AI Day. The 5’8″, 125-pound Tesla Bot is set to “start dealing with work that is boring, repetitive and dangerous,” Musk added. He told the audience that the robot, which appears faceless with a black and gray color scheme, would be capable of lifting around 45-pounds while moving at about eight kilometers per hour.

“We’re setting it such that it is at a mechanical level, a physical level, that you can run away from it, and most likely overpower it,” Musk said in response to questions about the dangers of the AI robot. Still, he has hopes that the Tesla Bot will be employed widely by making them easily accessible and inexpensive.

Is this a good move by Musk? Check out the announcement below:

Kanye West Shows Off Childhood Home After Deleting His IG Posts

Kanye West is certainly one of the more interesting characters in the music world. Whenever he gears up to release an album, fans can expect some erratic behavior that is difficult to pin down. Back in 2019, Kanye came through with multiple release dates for Jesus Is King, and in the end, he never really followed through on any of them. Instead, fans were forced to guess as to when the album would be released, and it led to a lot of frustration amongst his supporters.

Now, Kanye is eliciting that same frustration with his new album DONDA. This project was supposed to come out on July 23rd although based on the first listening party, it’s clear the album was unfinished. During the second listening party on August 5th, Kanye presented something that was much more tangible, although once again, he failed to meet his deadline.

Now, Kanye is headed back to his hometown of Chicago where he will supposedly host his third and final listening party. DONDA is now expected to come out on August 27th and based on comments from his inner circle, it appears as though the album is, indeed, going to be released on time.

In fact, Kanye is adding fuel to the fire as last night, he deleted every single post on his Instagram account and followed that up by posting a photo of his childhood home. This is the place he grew up, and when you consider the theme of his new album, you can’t help but read into this.

At this juncture, fans are desperate for the new album and over the past month, Kanye has done nothing but tease fans with empty promises. If he delivers the new album next Friday, however, any ill will Kanye has conjured up as of late, will immediately go out the window.

Trippie Redd And Drake Tackle ‘Betrayal’ On Their First Collaboration

Trippie Redd is back with his latest project, Trip At Knight, which continues his streak of annual releases, dating back to 2017’s A Love Letter To You. The 18-track album comes attached with features from Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Juice WRLD, Lil Durk, Polo G, SoFaygo, Ski Mask The Slump God, XXXTentacion, BabyFace Ray, Sada Baby, and Icewear Vezzo. The one that’s caught most people’s eyes is the collaboration between Trippie and Drake, titled “Betrayal.”

While Trip At Knight has been out for a little over a day, it was just hours ago that fans were finally able to listen to “Betrayal” after a technical issue left the song mysteriously unavailable online. The track sees Drake stepping into Trippie’s world over the track’s trap-punk production as the two reflect on the times they were betrayed by close friends.

“Betrayal” wasn’t supposed to be the duo’s first collaboration. “God’s Plan,” Drake’s Grammy-winning single from his 2018 album Scorpion, was initially set to feature Trippie, as unreleased versions of the track revealed. However, according to the rapper’s DJ, Trippie was left off the song after he failed to turn in his verse before the song’s deadline. Despite the missed opportunity, it’s good to see that the two rappers were finally able to regroup for a new track.

You can listen to “Betrayal” in the video above.

Trip At Knight is out now via 1400 Entertainment/10K Projects. Get it here.

Will LiAngelo Ball’s NBA Dreams Finally Come True?

During the Spring of 2017, LaVar Ball became a larger-than-life persona in the media. With his oldest son Lonzo leaving UCLA for the NBA, Ball wanted everyone to know that he meant business. How can anyone forget his infamous First Take appearances, where he would yell at Stephen A. Smith about how Lonzo was going to be better than Magic Johnson? Needless to say, LaVar was a star in the making who knew how to hype up his sons, and get them as much publicity as possible. Eventually, Lonzo was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers, where he would spend two turbulent seasons with the team.

Following Lonzo’s draft year, the focus was immediately shifted over to LiAngelo. Just like his older brother, LiAngelo was enrolled at UCLA, and he was expected to make quite the leap. As the most skilled shooter in the family, LiAngelo could either play small forward or shooting guard, which made him the perfect prospect for NBA teams looking to take their perimeter shooting to the next level. Unfortunately, Gelo’s time at UCLA became famous for all of the wrong reasons. After reportedly shoplifting from a kiosk in China, LiAngelo and some of his teammates were detained, before being bailed out and brought home thanks to the diplomacy of former President Donald Trump. In typical Trump fashion, he got angry with LaVar for failing to thank him, which led to some hilarious segments on CNN in which Ball essentially called the president a bozo.

Not long after the saga in China, LaVar made the shocking decision to pull Gelo out of college. He then did the same thing with LaMelo who was in high school at the time. This move was widely criticized by the media, although LaVar didn’t care, as he brought his sons to Lithuania where they became overnight sensations in the country. Throughout the winter and spring of 2018, Gelo got quite a bit of traction on the recruitment front, and he was optimistic about being drafted or at least signed. Following Lonzo’s first season in Los Angeles, LaVar was able to convince the Lakers to give LiAngelo a workout, and in LaVar’s mind, this was a guarantee that the Lakers would take him in the second round of the 2018 draft. In the end, that never happened, and the disappointment amongst the Ball camp was palpable. LaVar immediately took to the media condemning the Lakers and general manager Rob Pelinka for going back on their word, all while LiAngelo continued to work on his game.

For about a year, Gelo got to play in LaVar’s short-lived JBA league where he was putting up incredible numbers every single game. At the time, critics were quick to point out that Gelo had poor competition to work with, and that the stats truly meant nothing to NBA scouts. In the summer of 2019, Gelo was being scouted by numerous NBA teams, however, an injury ultimately dashed his hopes of getting a tryout. He was finally on the precipice of something great, and it was snatched right out from under him.

Luckily for Gelo, his injury healed fast and when he returned to the court, he was just as motivated to show people what he could do. In December of 2019, things were seemingly turning around for Gelo as he signed a G-League deal with the OKC Blue. At the time, this was simply a tryout deal, and by March of 2020, he was officially a member of the team. As we all know by now, COVID-19 happened, which ultimately ruined LiAngelo’s chances of ever working his way up to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s main roster. The Blue were out of commission for months and by the time they came back, Gelo had been let go.

In November of 2020, the Ball family now had two players in the NBA: Lonzo and LaMelo. Melo had just been drafted to the Charlotte Hornets, while Lonzo was gearing up for his second season with the New Orleans Pelicans. With two of his three sons in the NBA, LaVar was eager to get LiAngelo his NBA opportunity. That opportunity was finally bestowed upon Gelo as he was signed by the Detroit Pistons just in time for preseason. At this point, LiAngelo and his father were beyond excited, especially given the history of the Pistons. With a young roster behind them, the Pistons were seen as the ideal place for LiAngelo to grow. Once again, however, LiAngelo was effectively given the run around as he never saw the court during the preseason. As a result, Gelo never truly got to show off his talent, and it prompted LaVar to call the Pistons “raggedy as hell.”

For a third-straight season, LiAngelo was on the outside looking in, all while his brothers got to enjoy NBA notoriety. Throughout the entire season, LiAngelo stayed fairly quiet as there were no reports of him getting any NBA offers. By all accounts, his NBA aspirations were dead in the water. That all changed just a few weeks ago when it was revealed that LiAngelo would be joining the Charlotte Hornets Summer League team in Las Vegas. Summer League is the perfect place for young talent to show off their skills, and with strong enough performances, Gelo could make a serious case for himself. Not to mention, with his brother already on the roster, there was a sense that Gelo could truly thrive alongside a point guard he is already familiar with.

So far, this Summer League experiment has paid dividends for the Hornets. In every single game thus far, Gelo has impressed with not just his shooting and playmaking, but his defense as well. On every single possession, you can tell the LiAngelo is a hungry young man who is sick and tired of living in the shadows of his brothers. After years of being denied opportunities, LiAngelo is finally getting a chance to prove why he belongs in the NBA. Coaches and execs within the Hornets organization have been praising Gelo’s work ethic, and they seem convinced that he’s good enough to at least make it to preseason.

As it stands, Gelo is not guaranteed a spot in the NBA this season, however, he could very well end up in the G League, where he can develop his game and get used to the faster pace that the pros typically provide. It’s an opportunity that Gelo has been deprived of over the years, and it’s exciting to finally see him get the recognition he deserves. Not to mention, this is also a testament to the kind of father LaVar is. For years, LaVar has been roasted for doing too much and putting his kids in a position to fail. At times, even I have had criticisms of the Ball family patriarch. However, with LaMelo winning rookie of the year, Lonzo improving every year, and Gelo on the cusp of an NBA opportunity, it’s time to give LaVar his flowers. He has instilled a winning mentality into his sons, and if Gelo has taught us anything, it’s that he is one of the most determined young guys in Summer League right now. After three years of being rejected, many would simply give up and go play overseas. Gelo, however, has done the opposite, and now, that determination may finally pay off.
