Brooklyn Nets Eyeing Another Prominent Free Agent: Report

If you are an NBA fan, then you can probably agree that the Brooklyn Nets are stacked. Realistically, their roster should be good enough to win an NBA title, especially with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden leading the way. If every single player is healthy, there is no reason why this team shouldn’t win it all. Of course, this means anything less than a championship is an abject failure.

As a way to avoid any sort of upsets in the playoffs, the Nets are looking to consolidate their depth by signing as many veteran free agents as possible. For instance, the team recently signed Patty Mills, and they are hoping to add more talented players to the roster.

According to reporter Mike Singer, the Nets are looking at Paul Millsap, who is coming off of a few years in Denver. Millsap was a solid player for the Nuggets, and many are surprised that he is still available on the free-agent market. For now, the Nets and the Golden State Warriors are the two most teams who are the most interested in Millsap, although no deals have been set in stone, at least not yet.

This could be an interesting pick-up for the Nets, especially as they look to stack the deck heading into next season. Their main competition is the Lakers, who are taking a very similar approach in free agency. Needles to say, this is about to be a very interesting season.

Polo G Recounts The Recent Moments In His Life Through A Celebratory Video For ‘Black Hearted’

For the third consecutive year, Polo G has shared a full body of work. His new album, titled Hall Of Fame, arrived at the beginning of June, and it captured the rapper’s outlook on the world as a solidified star in hip-hop. It became his first No. 1 album. Two months after its release, Polo G continues returns with a video for “Black Hearted.”

The video captures some of the bigger highlights that have happened in his life over the past couple of months. It starts by showing some behind-the-scenes clips of Polo G throwing the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs baseball game last month. There’s also footage of his performance at this year’s Lollapalooza festival.

“Black Hearted” joins a number of other tracks from Polo G’s third album that received the video treatment, including “Gang Gang” with Lil Wayne, “No Return” with The Kid Laroi and Lil Durk, “Painting Pictures,” and “Toxic.” It also arrives after a string of collaborations, such as Gunna on “Waves,” Morray for a remix of “Trenches“, and Trippie Redd on “Rich MF” from his new album, Trip At Knight.

Young Thug & Trippie Redd Light Up Our “Fire Emoji” Playlist

The rap game is heating up this week as fans anticipate a few massive albums. Sure, Kanye West and Drake’s showdown has been grabbing headlines but we also received confirmation from Kendrick Lamar, himself, that a new album was officially on the way. However, these aren’t the only powerhouse names in hip-hop that are revving up for new releases. Young Thug’s album PUNK is set to officially drop this fall and the rollout officially began this week with the release of “TICK TOCK.” The upbeat anthem is certainly bound to keep the remainder of the summer on lock but it’s just an initial glimpse of what we could expect from PUNK.

Trippie Redd hasn’t slowed down when it comes to new releases. Over the past few months, fans have been heavily anticipating his follow-up to 2020’s Pegasus, especially since it seems more artists are finally ready to hit the road. Trippie’s latest project is filled with stellar collaborations including “Rich MF” ft. Polo G and Lil Durk. Best believe, it’s on steady rotation on this end and was an obvious inclusion for this week’s Fire Emoji update.

Damian Lillard Appears To Have Unveiled The Adidas Dame 8

Damian Lillard had himself a great time last night as he got to participate in the Weber State alumni game. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar got to host the event on the same day that he released his brand new album called Different On Levels The Lord Allowed. It should come as no surprise that Lillard popped off during the game, scoring a whopping 41 points during a very close game. 

During the event, Lillard was spotted wearing a brand new pair of purple and yellow shoes which had some fans speculating about his signature sneaker line with Adidas. Over the last year, Dame has been wearing the Adidas Dame 7, and now, fans are anticipating the Dame 8.

If this shoe is, indeed, the Dame 8, then fans can expect some chunky aesthetics with some wavy designs on the midsole. Overall, this is one of his more interesting shoes yet, and the colorway is pretty dope when you consider how they match his Weber State jersey. Of course, there is no guarantee this is the Dame 8, however, with the season starting in just a couple of months, it is safe to assume this could be the star’s next signature model.

dvsn & Ty Dolla $ign Connect With YG On “Can’t Tell”

There’s been an influx of joint projects in hip-hop in recent years but that sense of camaraderie hasn’t been as present in the world of R&B. That’s not to say it hasn’t existed but R&B acts don’t seem to face the same fan pressure as rappers do when it comes to creating collaborative efforts. Over the past few weeks, dvsn and Ty Dolla $ign have hinted at a collab album called Cheers To The Memories, beginning with the release of the Mac Miller-assisted, “I Believed It.”

On Friday, the album dropped in its entirety including a stellar new cut alongside YG. dvsn and Ty Dolla $ign connect with the Bompton MC for the smooth record, “Can’t Tell” — a perfect record to close out summer 2021 before the back-to-school season officially begins.

Air Jordan 1 KO “Storm Blue” Release Date Revealed: Photos

Just a few months ago, Jumpman brought back the Air Jordan 1 KO, which has been known over the years as the High OGs less expensive cousin. This shoe was originally released in the late 80s as a way to offer something more affordable to consumers. With the unique materials and color blocking, it was rumored that the KO stood for “knock off” which is certainly ironic when you consider it was Nike themselves naming it that.

In 2021, we have received a “Chicago” colorway and in just a few months, a Billie Eilish model is expected to hit the market. Now, however, Jordan Brand is focused on the brand new “Storm Blue” colorway, which can be found down below. This model carries forth a white and black base, all while the overlays feature that classic “Storm Blue” look. Overall, it’s a clean shoe that is certainly going to have fans excited to open up their wallets.

R. Kelly Thought Aaliyah Was Pregnant, His Tour Manager Testifies: Report

R. Kelly’s sex trafficking trial in New York kicked off this week. On Friday, his former tour manager Demetrius Smith took the stand where he dropped a bombshell testimony regarding Kelly’s marriage to Aaliyah. According to Billboard, Smith said that R. Kelly was convinced he had impregnated Aaliyah when she was a minor. Smith said that Kelly “told me that Aaliyah was ‘in trouble.'”

“He said, ‘Don’t call Barry, it’s deeper than you think,” Smith recounted in court of Kelly warning him of Aaliyah’s uncle and manager, Barry Hankerson. Smith said the conversation with Kelly occurred before a concert, though he failed to pinpoint which city they were in. He added that Kelly told him to book an overnight flight immediately after the show was done. 

Smith said that Kelly was quiet on the drive to the airport where the two were accompanied by the singer’s bodyguard Tyree Jameson. “‘Aaliyah, man. She thinks she’s pregnant,'” Smith recalled Kelly telling him during the quiet car ride.

Smith explained that Kelly was crying about how he needed to protect himself from going to jail once they landed in Chicago. Meanwhile, Kelly’s business manager and accountant Daryl McDavid was reportedly moving forward with plans to get a marriage license for the singer and Aaliyah. Smith said, “I told Robert that he shouldn’t listen to Daryl,” adding that he believed Aaliyah was “too young.”

Smith admitted that he offered to help get his hands on a counterfeit marriage license during a subsequent meeting alongside Aaliyah, Kelly, and McDavid. “I was always in objection to what Robert was being told to do,” Smith said, adding that he only made the offer in order to prevent being booted from Kelly’s inner circle. 

Smith testified that he bribed a clerk from the Illinois Department of Human Services with $500 for one of the IDs. Then, he said he obtained a second ID, in the form of work identification, from a mail courier service. 

Though neither were valid identification to legally wed, Smith said he went alongside Kelly and Aaliyah to Maywood, IL to apply for a marriage license when Aaliyah was only 15-years-old and Kelly was 27. Assistant U.S. Attorney Maria Cruz Melendez attempted to pry for more information while he was under oath on how he was able to secure the marriage license. 

“I’m truly uncomfortable with this, your honor… continuously talking about Aaliyah and her parents aren’t here,” Smith told the court. 

Smith is due back in court on Monday to continue his testimony in R. Kelly’s racketeering case.

Tion Wayne Taps ArrDee For “Wid It”

It’s only been a few months since the hype around Tion Wayne & Ardee’s massive hit “Body (Remix)” died down after becoming one of TikTok’s biggest sounds. However,  the duo are back to shake the game up, once again. While Tion Wayne gears up to drop his debut album Green With Envy next month, “Wid It,” the new collaboration with Arrdee, may prove to be a standout on the album’s tracklist.

Like its “Body (Remix)” predecessor, “Wid It” succeeds through the charisma and technical ability of the two rappers. The two flows that the rappers alternate are almost theatrical in how expressive they can be, making for a very exciting performance throughout. It seems that the pair have also become more comfortable with each other since their first collab as they go bar for bar and complement each other’s ad-libs during each other’s verses. The instrumental isn’t too flashy but produces the perfect amount of bounciness for the two rappers to fill the empty space.

Green With Envy will release September 17th.

Kylie Jenner Won’t Hide Pregnancy With Baby #2: Report

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are certainly one of Hollywood’s superstar couples. And while they haven’t shied away from celebrating their relationship and the joys of parenthood, Kylie’s pregnancy with Stormi was largely kept out of the public eye. After all, Kylie was only 20 at the time. However, with the recent announcement of Kylie’s pregnancy with her and Travis’ second child, the couple reportedly won’t be keeping baby #2 under wraps.

“It’s not the same experience for her. She was a lot younger with Stormi and it was her first pregnancy so she took the privacy as seriously as possible,” a source told The Sun regarding the pregnancy. Thankfully, this seems to be a less stressful experience for the now 24-year old as she learned a lot her first time around. “She’s already so much more confident and less worried than the first time around,” the source continued. This has been important for her decision to not “be in hiding the entire time like last time,” the source added.

Though Kylie herself hasn’t confirmed nor denied the pregnancy, the first announcements came when Kylie’s mom Caitlyn Jenner said her next grandchild was “in the oven” during a campaign stop.

Travis and Kylie have been on and off since the birth of Stormi, with rumors circulating they were in an open relationship in May. These were later denied.
