Apple’s iPod Has Officially Been Discontinued

It’s the end of an era for long-time music lovers. Over two decades after first launching the revolutionary product, Apple has announced that it will be discontinuing its iPod Touch devices after selling out of the remaining stock.

“Music has always been part of our core at Apple,” the company’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, revealed in a statement. “Bringing it to hundreds of millions of users in the way iPod did impacted more than just the music industry – it also redefined how music is discovered, listened to, and shared.”

“Today, the spirit of iPod lives on,” Joswaik continued, pointing out that users are now able to access their streaming library across a variety of devices including the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

As CNN notes, the iPod was first introduced by then-CEO Steve Jobs in 2001, helping to jump-start the company’s tremendous success with handheld devices.

Initially, people were drawn in by the signature scroll wheel and the promise of holding “up to 1,000 CD-quality songs” in your pocket, but over the years, the product went through countless reimaginings – only getting more impressive and powerful with each one.

By mid-2007, Apple had reached the impressive milestone of selling over 100 million iPod devices; later that year, they unveiled their first iPhone, which was visibly and functionally similar to the iPod Touch.

What are your thoughts on Apple’s decision to discontinue their uber-nostalgic iPod products? Let us know in the comment section below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop news updates.

ASAP Rocky Recalls Fab Curbing Him As A Kid: “I Was A Little Hurt”

Another Drink Champs appearance from A$AP Rocky is upon us, and fans are excited to hear what Flacko has to say now that he has his love locked in with Rihanna. The pair are expecting their first child soon, but the romance was just one of several topics tackled on the platform. We previously reported on the Drink Champs trailer that featured a hot take about Travis Scott biting Rocky’s style, but in another teaser, the “F*ckin’ Problems” hitmaker recalled an interaction he had with Fabolous.

When Rocky was just a kid, he apparently ran into Fab and, like any superfan, wanted to get an autograph or a picture. However, Fab had other plans and wasn’t interested.

“Fab was about, he was with a lil’ n*gga, n*gga like my age type sh*t,” said Rocky. “I was just like, ‘Yo, Fab,’ I’m like 12 or something like, my heart pounding.” Everyone laughed at the thought of a young Rocky working up the nerve to approach. He asked Fabolous, “‘I can get a picture or an autograph?’ He said no to the picture, then I asked for the autograph.”

“I could tell like, he was lookin’ around and all that type sh*t, so I guess he was trying to be on ten,” Rocky added. “He was trying to be on point. So, as a kid, it really didn’t register to me, I was a little hurt. So, I went home and ripped down all his [photos],” he said while everyone laughed. “That’s still my n*gga though, man.”

Noreaga wanted to know if Rocky ever told Fab this story, and he confirmed that he had. “He was like, ‘Wow, crazy how sh*t turn out.’ But, I just learned from it, I always try not to tell kids no.” Noreaga brought up Future, who reportedly said that he attempted to get a photo with Scottie Pippen when he was younger but was told no, so in turn, he later dated his wife, Larsa Pippen.

Kim K Criticized For “Controlling” Pete Davidson In New Clip: Watch

Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian’s romance is one of the most unexpected celebrity pairings we’ve seen in recent memory, although the two appear to be doing well, with the 28-year-old even getting a handful of new tattoos dedicated to the socialite.

After making their red carpet debut together at the White House Correspondents dinner, Davidson and Kardashian have been seen out in public more and more frequently, with their most recent appearance being at the Met Gala when the mother of four made history by wearing the same dress that Marilyn Monroe donned while singing “Happy Birthday” to the JFK over half a century ago.

In her usual fashion, the reality star made sure to capture plenty of behind-the-scenes footage of the special moment, although a certain clip that’s surfaced online has caused some to criticize Kardashian for seemingly “controlling” her boyfriend.

As Page Six notes, in the video, Kim can be heard telling her beau to “take [his] double hat off,” pointing out the purple cap he had put on over his navy one during their outing at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum in Orlando.

“I don’t know where to put my hat,” he said as he took the top cap off. “She’ll hold it,” the SKIMS founder said, gesturing to a nearby assistant. “Just in case, because if it works and we want to use this somewhere – just if I want to post any behind-the-scenes.”

“Oh you don’t want me to have a double hat? I appreciate that. Thank you,” the Saturday Night Live performer joked. “I’m just looking out for you,” his girlfriend responded. “No, it’s cool,” he said before handing the hat to someone else. “Thank you, man. This hat caused a lot of trouble,” the comedian quipped.

Viewers didn’t hesitate to lash out at Kardashian for her behaviour. “She’s controlling. She’s not letting him be himself by wearing two hats. Let him wear two freaking hats, Kim. It’s all about her Instagram aesthetic,” one user ranted. “Within five months he’s going to be a complete accessory.”

“Nah def red flag passive-aggressive behaviour,” someone else chimed in. “Instead of telling him she doesn’t want him to make her look bad, which is what she’s implying. She said she’s looking out for him. It’s giving controlling and selfish.”

Tiffany Haddish Releases Kid’s Book & Has A Message For Her Childhood Bully

Love her or hate her, Tiffany Haddish is determined to keep shining. The comedian is expanding her reach in entertainment and today, Haddish shared her first children’s book: Layla, the Last Black Unicorn. The release is reportedly a part of a three-book deal that Haddish inked with Harper Collins, and this first installment was inspired by the struggles the actress endured in her youth.

Haddish hasn’t been shy about sharing her story, as she has previously detailed spending time in foster care away from her siblings. At nine, her mother was involved in a car wreck that caused brain damage and as a result, she reportedly became violent. Haddish would later say that her stepfather admitted to tampering with the brakes in hopes of killing his wife and all of her children, but the kids stayed home that day.

Haddish would turn to comedy as a way to cope and now, Layla, the Last Black Unicorn, is a way for her to help other children who are experiencing hardships and insecurities. While chatting about her new book with E!’s Daily Pop, she also dropped off a message for her childhood bullies.

“You know, I get it. You didn’t like me growing up, but a lot of people like me now,” she said. “And you can be out there with the haters that keep watching and spending money on my movies, and my books, and my TV shows, and my clothing line that’s about to come out, and you can keep following and watching all the things that I’m doing and just know, I was right, you was wrong.”

Of her children’s book, Haddish added: “It’s inspired by my childhood and how different I was and how hard it was for me to fit in. Realizing that my differences can be my wins and it can help others, and so I wanted to share that with kids. Also, growing up, I didn’t see too many books by Black female authors, so I thought this was a good way to start kicking that door open—even though there are a lot of books out by Black, female authors now, because I was a kid a very long time ago—but I figured I’d join the club.”

The actress also added that she wishes her bully “all the joy and happiness she can handle” because “she was obviously an unhappy child.”

Diddy Claims He Demanded Travis Scott’s BBMAs Show: “I Am Uncancelling The Cancelled”

One thing that Diddy is all about? Love! And that’s exactly what the 52-year-old is hoping to bring to the upcoming Billboard Music Awards (which he’s executive producing) later this month.

On Monday, May 9th, Sean Combs jumped on Instagram to let his 18.4 million followers know that he and his team commissioned Travis Scott as one of the performers for this Sunday’s show. “This just in,” he told the camera.

Alexander Tamargo/Getty Images

“For the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday I made a request, I made a demand. I said ‘My brother Travis Scott has to perform. I’m executive producing, he has to perform,’ and NBC said ‘yes.’ It’s going down Sunday, Travis Scott will be performing… now that’s love.”

While this won’t be the father of two’s first live show since Astroworld – he performed at club E11EVEN in Miami during Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend – it will be his first televised performance, which definitely ups the ante.

During an interview with REVOLT Black News, the multihyphenate doubled down on his enthusiasm, declaring, “I am uncancelling the cancelled.”

“There will be no cancelling on my watch,” he continued. “Love is about forgiveness… so that was why it was important for me to have Travis Scott perform. It’s going to be a great night.”

Other famous faces slated to perform on Sunday evening include Silk Sonic, Ed Sheeran, and Megan Thee Stallion. The award show will broadcast on May 15th on NBC – tap back in with HNHH then for any pop culture news updates.

Chloe Shows Off Her Vocals And Presents A New Point Of View In Her Cover Of Capella Grey’s ‘Gyalis’

In addition to making her solo debut with the bouncy “Have Mercy,” Chloe Bailey’s 2021 year was filled with impressive covers of songs by a wide array of artists. She took on Adele’s “Easy On Me,” Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open,” Cardi B’s “Be Careful, Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain,” Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good,” and Drake’s “Marvin’s Room.” Fresh off releasing her second single as a solo artist, that being the provocative “Treat Me,” Chloe has found time to treat her fans to another cover. This time she takes on Capella Grey’s 2021 summer hit “Gyalis.”

Chloe’s rendition of “Gyalis” is a bit more than a cover and she remixes the song a bit so that it can be sung from a female’s point of view. While the original song’s lyrics read, “Fake like she asleep / Swear she tried to stay the whole week / I’m like “Oh, nah, she gotta go”, uh / Ask me her name, I swear I don’t even f*ckin’ know,” Chloe gives her side in the matter on the cover.

“He’s tryna fake like he asleep / Thought I didn’t hear him come in, please,” Chloe sings. “I’m like, ‘Oh nah, he gotta go’ / See you again? Oh no, baby that’s not what I want.”

Capella Grey showed love towards Chloe’s cover of “Gyalis” by reposting the video on his own Instagram page.

You can listen to Chloe’s cover-slash-remix of “Gyalis” in the video above.

DaniLeigh Opens Up About Her ‘Toxic’ Relationship With DaBaby: ‘We Broke Up A Lot’

At the end of 2020, DaniLeigh and DaBaby made their relationship official with intimate Instagram posts that they shared on their respective accounts. Almost a year later, any sign of that relationship continuing crashed and burned as the two artists engaged in a public and heated argument on Instagram Live. Things only got worse afterward, as just a few months later, videos on social media captured DaBaby and DaniLeigh’s brother engaged in a fight at a Los Angeles bowling alley. After staying silent about anything DaBaby-related for the past few months, DaniLeigh decided to speak out about their past relationship in a new interview.

In a sit-down with Angie Martinez, DaniLeigh discussed the “on and off” relationship she had with DaBaby. “It was toxic,” she said. “We had our really good times. We were in love. He had his little mess-ups and stuff, so we’d break up for a month and then get back together… We broke up a lot.”

The interview arrives after DaniLeigh released “Dead To Me,” a song that speaks about the “toxic energy” she experienced in a past relationship, presumably with DaBaby. In the song, she says, “You f*cking all these h*es/Thinking I wouldn’t know/You played me like a fool, lil baby/Got a b*tch thinking I’m crazy.”

His relationship with DaniLeigh is not the only controversial thing that DaBaby has been involved in as of late. He recently avoided charges for shooting a man who invaded his North Carolina home, but that came after he was charged with felony battery for punching a man during a music video shoot.

You can watch DaniLeigh’s interview in the video above.

Jesse Williams Speaks On Being Nude On Stage: “It’s A Body, Whatever!”

The performance earned him a Tony Awards nomination, but the announcement of his recognition paled in comparison to the leaked images of Jesse Williams. The Grey’s Anatomy icon has been performing on Broadway in Take Me Out, a stage play about a baseball player who struggles after coming out as gay. His portrayal has been hailed by theatre enthusiasts, but after someone took a photo of Williams’s nude scene and shared it publicly, his naked photos quickly went viral.

Productions of Take Me Out, and other plays, generally, do their best to keep people from bringing or using phones for moments such as these. While Williams remains a trending topic across several platforms as his pictures were shared and commented on by the hundreds of thousands, some are calling out people who are reveling in the leaked images.

Meanwhile, Williams addressed being nude on stage while chatting with Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. It seems that he’s taking it all in stride and isn’t concerned with the response—but it looks as if this interview occurred just a day or two prior to his viral moment.

“I’ve learned in my minutes of theater, don’t try to read into it because it just creates more insecurity,” said the actor. “I’m told it’s quite insane. It’s the first (time), so I’ve got nothing to compare it to and I won’t be scared of anything after this… It’s a body, once you see it, you realize it’s whatever, it’s a body!” he added. “I just have to make it not that big of a deal.”

We wonder what he thinks of it all now. Check out highlights of his interview below.

6ix9ine Trolls Gunna Over YSL RICO Indictment: Watch

6ix9ine has a reputation for trolling other rappers at even the most inappropriate of times, and his latest victim is none other than Gunna, who is currently wrapped up with Young Thug and 26 other YSL record label associates in a 56-count indictment from Fulton County.

Earlier today (May 10th), a press conference was held to give the public more information on yesterday’s surprising announcement. The District Attorney confirmed that “many” of the people involved in the case are expected to face life sentences, and the rapper’s lyrics will even be used against them in court.

At the same time, it was revealed that Gunna currently remains out of custody, although his representatives have been making arrangements with local authorities. From the sounds of things, he may be working out a plan to surrender, although nothing was officially confirmed.

Despite the fact that the DS4EVER hitmaker hasn’t been locked up just yet, 6ix9ine couldn’t resist the opportunity to poke fun at the recording artist. On his Instagram Story, the New York native shared a clip from Gunna’s performance in the 2021 film, Dutch.

“Get me McDonald’s, and when you come back, I might remember something,” his character tells an investigator from behind bars, wearing an orange jumpsuit.

“Can you do that?” he asks. “Oh yeah, Big Mac, fries? Coke?” the man in a suit responds. “Yeah,” the rapper confirms before hearing, “Done!”

While Gunna’s charges are limited just to RICO at this time, Thugger’s are more serious, including participating in street gang activity and renting a vehicle that was later used in the commission of the murder of a rival gang member – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more YSL arrest updates.
