That didn’t last too long, the love of this South Memphis emcee is undeniable, and it shows on the deluxe version of his Yellow Tape 2 Deluxe.

Even with no features, Yellow Tape 2 received tremendous success. The tape debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, building on the success of the first Yellow Tape, which opened at No. 16.

The second installation, Yellow Tape 2 Deluxe, Key Glock, again used no features in the ten extra tracks. The mixtape pays tribute to Young Dolph and has productions from Southside, Kenny Beats, Tay Keith, Juicy J, Sosa 808, Buddah Bless, and more.

Yellow Tape 2 Deluxe also features the songs Glock released before the project. It features “Play for Keeps,” and “Pain Killers,” and “Proud.”

“Proud” is the Dolph tribute, and he opens his heart with the emotional lyrics dedicated to the late rapper.

“I lost my dog, I lost my mind, no lie, I’m really lost inside/I can get it back in blood, but still, I can’t get back the time/Fuck that humble shit, let’s go, you know I’m spazzin’ out ’bout mine/I got Dolph lookin’ down on me, I know that n-gga proud,” Glock raps on proud.

YK Osiris is always in the news for owing a large debt. Now, YK, the gambling man, is in the news for being honorable. The Jacksonville singer and entertainer has offered to pay for the funeral of Tyre Sampson.

Sampson is the 14-year-old that reportedly fell to his death from the Orlando Free Fall ride at Icon Park in Orlando. Someone caught the incident on camera, and the video since then went viral and caught the attention of Osiris.

Osiris took it to his Instagram story to share that he wants to get in contact with Sampson’s family to cover the funeral cost.

Sampson, from Missouri, visited Icon Park on a spring break vacation trip. Since the fall, video has surfaced showing passengers on the ride speaking about an issue with one of the seat restraints ahead of Sampson’s tragic fall. Reports notedSampson’ss death isn’t the only death that happened at that theme park. According to multiple Orlando news reports, a 21-year-old worker fell to his death while attempting a safety check on the StarFlyer ride at the theme park in September 2020.

The father of the victim spoke out about the incident. Tyree’s dad Yarnell Sampson spoke out publicly Friday afternoon.

“It felt like somebody hit me so hard in my stomach. I just lost, I lost, lost wind. And the pain behind it could never be taken away, and sorry’s not gonna take it back and no monies, no nothing in the world to replace the young man. And it’s just sad, a young man’s bright future was taken away from him over a ride, an amusement park,” Yarnell Sampson said.

Tyree was in 8th grade and a part of a nationally ranked youth football program.

Travis Scott has been making adjustments in revitalizing his career as a performer since the tragic Astroworld incident. Since then, he apologized publicly and launched Project Heal. Project Heal is a safety initiative designed to create precautions to protect concertgoers. Now Travis Scott is back putting on shows.

Scott performed “Sicko Mode” at a short set at a private pre-Oscars party in Los Angeles. This was Trav’s first performance since the tragedy.

Along with the performance, Scott has been in the studio. Still no confirmed release date for his forthcoming album Utopia; it’s apparent that he’s working on it.

Although Travis is returning to music, he has become a strong advocate for concert safety. In addition to coming up with creative new safety hazards for attendees, Project Heal will be a multipronged campaign encompassing an HBCU scholarship fund and providing mental health resources.

The Astroworld artist expressed his feeling for the victims of the Astroworld Festival in a lengthy Instagram caption.

“I’ve been taking the time and space to grieve, reflect and do my part to heal my community,” Scott on Instagram.

“Most importantly, I want to use my resources and platform moving forward towards actionable change. This will be a lifelong journey for me and my family. While it’s easy for corporations and institutions to stay in the shadows, I feel as a leader in my community, I need to step up in times of need.”

Jackson State University Renames Stadium Tunnel “Paper Route Tunnel” In Honor Of Young Dolph

Young Dolph's Autopsy Report Reveals 22 Gunshot Wounds

Young Dolph’s legacy will be remembered anytime anyone steps foot in Jackson State’s Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium tunnel. The prestige historical black college university will change the name of its tunnel in commemoration of Young Dolph.

The new name of the covered passage will be called the Paper Route Tunnel. The school held a press conference with coach Deion Sanders and the players where the university’s representatives revealed the new name.

“We should rename it,” said a Jackson State spokesperson. “The name of the tunnel should be called Paper Route Tunnel. In memory of Young Dolph, the life and legacy.”

The relationship between Dolph and JSU grew when the late Memphis rapper showed up to Jackson State’s 28-7 homecoming victory over Alabama State in October. After the game, Dolph joined the team’s celebration in the locker room. They got lit to his “100 Shots” song, and the video clip went viral on social media.

Since Jackson State University has memorialized Young Dolph, his legacy will forever live there.

The 13-track project exhibited Latto’s lyrical prowess and established her as a certified hot spitter. The Clayton County representative, or Big Latto, opens the project with big bars.

The Georgia native enlists a few of her hometown peers like 21 Savage and Childish Gambino. She also called upon other big names like Lil Wayne, Lil Durk, Kodak Black, and Nardo Wick.

777 also includes the Mariah Carey-sampling “Big Energy” track. Latto recently announced that Mariah Carey would be on the “Big Energy” remix, which will drop on Monday. Latto expressed great joy behind this legendary collaboration. She took it to Twitter to share her thoughts.

On this day in Hip-Hop history, Wu-Tang Clan’s Ol’ Dirty Bastard released his debut solo LP, Return of the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version. Released by Elektra Records, Return of the 36 Chambers was only the second solo LP by any Wu-Tang member. Largely produced by fellow Wu-Tang emcee RZA, the album had a mostly positive commercial reception.

Peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart, Return of the 36 Chambers sold 81,000 albums in its first week and was certified gold later that year. The album was also nominated for “Best Rap Album” at the 1996 Grammy Awards.

Coming off such a successful group debut, there were little critics could say to discount the record. The Source, Rolling Stone and Allmusic have all given the project four out of five stars. In 1998, The Source selected the album to be a part of its 100 Best Rap Albums list.

Following Return of the 36 chambers: The Dirty Version, ODB went on to release one more solo album, Nigga Please, before his untimely demise in 2004. Ol’ Dirty will forever be remembered as one of the most talented and unique emcees to ever grace the mic.
