50 Cent is in an all-out trolling assault on JAY-Z right now. After the news of a civil suit accusing JAY-Z of sexual assault, 50 had one question: “Are we gonna still have the Super Bowl?”
If that wasn’t enough, 50 doubled back with an image of The Carters at the Mufasa premiere, calling it a publicity stunt for the family image.
On Sunday (Dec. 8), a lawsuit accusing JAY-Z of raping a 13-year-old girl with Diddy after the 2000 VMAs hit online. JAY-Z called the suit an extortion attempt in a sharp response posted to the Roc Nation social media accounts. The suit is filed by Houston’s Tony Buzbee, who is representing alleged victims of Diddy.
In the statement, Hov pointed out the extortion attempt, writing that he wouldn’t give “ONE RED PENNY!!”
He also stated, “I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your king many times over.”
On a personal note, JAY-Z added, “My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
After slamming Buzbee as an “ambulance chaser in a cheap suit,” Hov encouraged Buzbee to take the matter to criminal court and signed off, saying, “I look forward to showing you just how different I am.”
According to NBC News, Jane Doe alleges JAY-Z and Diddy raped her at a VMAs after-party. The original suit only named Diddy but was recently adjusted to include Jay as a defendant. The woman claims she was dropped off at Radio City Music Hall, the venue for that year’s VMAs, but did not have a ticket to attend. She approached several limousine drivers before encountering one who allegedly worked for Diddy, who stated she “fit what Diddy was looking for.” Upon arrival, she stated she signed an NDA and took a drink that left her feeling “woozy,” eventually leading to the alleged sexual assault by both men.
As we approach SZA’s new album, the TDE superstar has released a trailer. In the video, SZA takes a bathroom break in a forest and sings over a track featuring The Isley Brothers’ “Voyage to Atlantis.” You can see the Lana trailer below.
Speaking with British Vogue, she previewed the Lana album.
“I think I am making music from a more beautiful place,” SZA said. “From a more possible place versus a more angsty place. I’m not identifying with my brokenness. It’s not my identity. It’s s**t that happened to me. Yeah, I experienced cruelty. I have to put it down at some point. Piece by piece, my music is shifting because of that, the lighter I get.”
JAY-Z is calling for the anonymous accuser in his civil suit alleging sexual assault come forward.
After blasting the charges online, Hov’s attorney, Alex Spiro, is calling for an identity to be released in the suit filed by Tony Buzbee.
“The filing from [JAY-Z’]s attorney, Alex Spiro, specifically requests that the Jane Doe’s identity be disclosed in order to properly defend himself against this false claim through the legal process in a transparent manner,” a press statement reads.
In a letter to Judge Analisa Torres, Spiro writes: “For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Carter is entirely innocent. This is a shake down. He is not mentioned, referenced, or implicated in any way in the criminal investigation of Mr. Combs. He is neither a target nor a person of interest in that investigation.”
JAY-Z has been named as a defendant in a federal lawsuit which alleges that he, together with hip hop impresario Sean “Diddy” Combs, drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000.
The lawsuit was originally filed by an anonymous “Jane Doe” plaintiff in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in October. It named Combs as the defendant, alongside many of his corporate entities, including Bad Boy Entertainment and Bad Boy Records. Yesterday, the lawsuit was amended to add Jay-Z, a co-defendant, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
The lawsuit alleges that 2000 the plaintiff went to the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City without a ticket, hoping to get in. There, a limousine driver who claimed he worked for Combs invited her to an afterparty. He drove her to the party, where she alleges that she was made to sign a document that she believed was a non-disclosure agreement. She further alleges that upon drinking a portion of a beverage that was given to her by one of the waitresses at the party, she began feeling dizzy and lightheaded and found a room with a bed so she could lie down.
The lawsuit alleges that Carter, Combs and an unidentified female celebrity, who Plaintiff recognized, subsequently entered the room, and Carter held her down and raped her while Combs and the woman watched. Then Combs raped her while Carter and the woman watched. The lawsuit further alleges that Combs then tried to force her to perform oral sex on him, but she hit him, grabbed her clothes and ran away, escaping to a gas station outside where she used the phone to call her father.
The lawsuit alleges violation of the New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act (VGMVPA). The VGMVPA provides a private cause of action for any individual who has been injured by another in a crime of violence motivated by gender. The VGMVPA temporarily suspends the statute of limitations for alleged acts that violate this law, even if the alleged acts took place decades ago and were previously time-barred. The VGMVPA allows individuals to recover economic damages, damages for emotional distress, punitive damages and attorney’s fees and expenses.
The lawsuit is one of many filed against Combs by Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee on behalf of more than a hundred plaintiffs. Buzbee previously made a name for himself representing twenty-two women who brought claims against Houston Texans quarterback DeSean Watson in 2021 for claims of sexual harassment and sexual assault. All the claims were eventually settled out of court.
Carter responded to the lawsuit in a statement, writing that “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”
Buzbee was sued in November by an anonymous male celebrity who alleges that Buzbee tried to extort payments by threatening to file sexual assault claims against him, which the celebrity denies. Buzbee denies all allegations of extortion. The anonymous celebrity has been alleged by Buzbee and in the media to be Jay-Z himself.
In a post on X on December 8, Buzbee responded to Carter, writing that “What he fails to say in his recent statement is my firm sent his lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never demanded a penny from him. Instead, she only sought a confidential mediation. Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff. His conduct has had the opposite impact. She is emboldened. I’m very proud of her resolve.”
Buzbee also claimed in an Instagram post that there was a concerted campaign to intimidate him, including “filing frivolous cases against me and my law firm, defaming me with outrageous assertions to anyone who will listen, and having mysterious people follow me and my family.”

Shaboozey lit up the Saturday Night Live stage with electrifying performances of his hits “Good News” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” The rising star’s dynamic presence and genre-blending sound captivated audiences, showcasing why he’s one of music’s most exciting talents. Fans praised the performance on social media, calling it a standout moment for the artist’s career. Shaboozey’s SNL debut adds to his growing influence in the music industry.
Last month, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” extended atop the Billboard Hot 100 for an 18th consecutive week, edging closer to a historic milestone. The track, released under American Dogwood/EMPIRE, is just one week away from potentially tying the all-time record set by Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which ruled for 19 weeks in 2019.
Debuting at No. 1 in July, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” continues to dominate across multiple Billboard charts. For the week of Nov. 8-14, it garnered 69.2 million radio airplay audience impressions (a slight 2% dip), 19.9 million streams (down 6%), and sold 6,000 units (a 16% boost).
The song retains its No. 1 position on the Radio Songs chart for a 16th week, advances to No. 2 on Digital Song Sales, and holds steady at No. 5 on Streaming Songs.
Breaking records, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has topped both the Hot 100 and Radio Songs simultaneously for 15 weeks, surpassing Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together,” which achieved 14 weeks in 2005.
This feat places Shaboozey in elite company, joining iconic tracks like Usher’s “Yeah!” (12 weeks) and Carey’s collaboration with Boyz II Men, “One Sweet Day” (12 weeks). With its staying power, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” cements its place in chart history as it eyes tying, or even breaking, the ultimate record next week.
Pusha T knows a bit about beefing with Drake. Speaking at Art Basel with Ari Melber, the Cokechella rapper revealed that he believes Kendrick Lamar stroked a chord in Drake’s soul.
“I think what Kendrick was doing was really talking to his soul,” King Push said. “I believe that would cause you to tap out. That would cause you to sue, that would cause you to do a lot of things. It’s crazy.”
Last month, Drake launched a second legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG), this time accusing the music giant of defamation and claiming it failed to halt the release of Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us,” which he alleges falsely accuses him of being a sex offender.
In the new filing, Drake’s legal team provides further details regarding his grievances with UMG, which is his record label for his entire career. According to the filing, UMG was aware that Lamar’s song contained accusations labeling Drake as a “certified pedophile” and “predator,” yet chose to release it anyway. “UMG could have refused to release or distribute the song or required the offending material to be edited and/or removed,” the document states. “But UMG chose to do the opposite, designing and financing a plan to turn ‘Not Like Us’ into a viral mega-hit, using the harm caused to Drake and his businesses to drive consumer hysteria and massive revenues.”
Like the filing in New York, the Texas petition is not a formal lawsuit but a pre-action filing intended to collect depositions from critical figures at UMG and iHeartRadio. The goal is to gather more evidence to support a defamation claim and potentially lead to additional allegations of civil fraud and racketeering.
Though Lamar is not named in the petition and is not accused of any legal wrongdoing, Drake’s legal team asserts that UMG knew the song, along with its album art and music video, would tarnish Drake’s reputation by falsely linking him to criminal sexual acts. The petition further accuses UMG of giving Lamar an unfair advantage in their competition, prioritizing one artist over another through illegal means.
