50 Cent Accused Of Confronting Former Drug Dealer About Lawsuit Over ‘Power’ Character

50 Cent Expendables

According to a report from AllHipHop, music and television mogul 50 Cent is accused of “pulling up” on Corey “Ghost” Holland Sr., who is suing the Power executive producer for allegedly basing the NYC-based street saga on his life.

Holland says in the lawsuit that Fif came to his place of residence twice in 2021 and that 50 was retaliating against him for filing the lawsuit.

Holland’s suit reads, “50 Cent shows up about a half mile from plaintiff home, and plaintiff sees the same truck that pulled into his driveway at the 50 Cent event. So plaintiff realizes it was either defendant Jackson or his Entourage who decided to ‘Pull Up.’ It continues, “When you looking for a confrontation your honor, this is what people say, nowadays. Up to this point, plaintiff had ignored a lot of ‘subliminal attacks’ on him online, but now 50 Cent is bringing the drama right to plaintiff front yard, so plaintiff responded to 50 Cent they way any normal person would respond to a possible threat, plaintiff prepared himself for whatever was go happen.”

Holland alleges that the seven acts in a CD he released, Blasphemy are identical to the seven seasons of the Starz television series as well as the first two seasons of Power Book II: Ghost.

50 Cent’s legal team called the lawsuit frivolous and stated that because the last showing of Power aired in February 2020 and the lawsuit was filed in April 2021, he missed the one-year statute of limitations under New York law.

Creed III Sets Franchise Box Office Record With $58 Million Opening Weekend Debut

Michael B Jordans Creed III breaks box office record

The fictional Adonis Creed may have won record-breaking heavyweight titles, but the real Michael B. Jordan had his own record-breaking weekend with “Creed III” (which he both directed and starred in) breaking a box office record for highest-grossing opening weekend.

The film reportedly brought in $58 million in the United States during its opening weekend (bringing in $22 million on Friday alone), taking the title from the former domestic record holder, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” Internationally, “Creed III” made $41.8 million its opening weekend, bringing its global total revenue to $100.4 million. (For reference, the film cost $75 million to make.)

Experts state that the reason for the record can be attributed to two things: the popularity of the film with a large audience and increased ticket prices.

Yahoo Entertainment notes that “Creed III” brought our a very diverse audience, as 23% were white, 28% were Latino, 36% were Black and 13% were Asian. They also note that “Creed III” also benefitted from pricier Imax tickets (a huge 38% of business came from premium large format screens). Additionally, movie ticket prices, like many other things, have increased due to inflation over the past few years.

In 2015, “Creed I” brought in $29.6 million its opening weekend while the 2018 sequel, “Creed II,” opened to $35.5 million.

Idris Elba Slams Critics For Accusing Him Of ‘Denying His Blackness’

Screen Shot 2023 03 05 at 8.10.11 AM

Idris Elba is clapping back at critics who claim he denied his Blackness when he denounced the label, “Black actor.” The British actor explained to Esquire UK that referring to yourself as a Black actor can limit role opportunities and growth in Hollywood.

Elba shared, “I stopped describing myself as a Black actor when I realized it put me in a box. As humans, we are obsessed with race. And that obsession can really hinder people’s aspirations, hinder people’s growth. Racism should be a topic for discussion, sure. Racism is very real. But from my perspective, it’s only as powerful as you allow it to be, We’ve got to grow. We’ve got to. Our skin is no more than that: It’s just skin. As you get up the ladder, you get asked what it’s like to be the first Black to do this or that,” Elba continued. “Well, it’s the same as it would be if I were white. It’s the first time for me. I don’t want to be the first Black. I’m the first Idris.”

During a new interview with The Guardian, Elba added that he purposely lives a “sheltered life” because social media often chooses to contort the words of celebrities.

“It’s really difficult to have an opinion if you’re in the public eye because it gets overly scrutinized, taken out of context, and thrown into some sort of bullshit, zeitgeisty social media argument.”

The 50-year-old described social media as a “conflict incubator” and noted that his anti-Black actor label is his choice, and he’s sticking to it because it’s his prerogative.

“Me saying I don’t like to call myself a Black actor is my prerogative. That’s me, not you. So for you to turn around and say to me, I’m ‘denying my Blackness’. On what grounds? Did you hear that? Where am I denying it? And what for? It’s just stupid. Whatever,” he told The Guardian.

“There isn’t a soul on this earth that can question whether I consider myself a BLACK MAN or not. Being an ‘actor’ is a profession, like being an ‘architect,’ they are not defined by race. However, If YOU define your work by your race, that is your Prerogative [sic]. Ah, lie?”

Watch: Michael B Jordan Was Unimpressed by Red Carpet Interview with High School Bully

Screen Shot 2023 02 27 at 12.21.05 PM

Approaching the release of the latest Creed film, Michael B Jordan has been engaging in loads of press to promote the March 3rd release date. In a recent interview, the actor stops to chat with old acquaintance and interviewer Lore’l of the Morning Hustle radio show. The red carpet interview quickly took a turn for the worse and it’s all in Jordan’s body language.

In the interview, Jordan confronts the reporter for her past comments about him– sparking a seriously awkward exchange.

After Lore’l introduces her and Jordan’s shared attendance at a highschool in Newark, he unexpectedly replies, “”[I was] the corny kid, right?”

Lore’l laughingly responds, “I did not say that! [I was] misquoted, for sure.”

Jordan remains unimpressed and says definitively, “I heard it.”

The unpleasant exchange stems from a 2021 episode of the Undressing Room podcast, where her co-host said that Michael seemed like “a nice, corny guy” while discussing his then-relationship with Lori Harvey.

Lore’l then responded, “You know what’s so crazy? I went to school with Michael B. Jordan at a point in life. And to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan. And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that’s the hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!”

Jordan was not feeling her energy in the slightest even though she continued to deny calling him corny, despite making fun of his name before changing the subject completely. “But yeah, he is obviously killing things out here,” she says. Wrapping up the interview she ensured he is “not corny anymore,” which Jordan brushes off before walking away. He definitely took her past comments personally and was not ready to come with any fake energy.

‘I Am Legend 2’ Confirmed, Will Star Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan

'I Am Legend 2' Confirmed, Will Star Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan

I Am Legend 2 is officially in development. The film will use the alternate ending of the 2007 film to provide a story for the sequel.

I Am Legend stars Will Smith, a human survivor during a time were a plague has changed humans into nocturnal creatures called Darkseekers. Dying the original, the alternate ending saw Smith making peace with the alpha and escaping to freedom.

Speaking with Deadline, producer Akiva Goldsman revealed that I Am Legend 2 will bring Will Smith back and pair him with Michael B. Jordan. The film will be placed many years after the story of the original. You can read Goldsman’s statement below.

I’m obsessed with The Last of Us, where we see the world just post-apocalypse but also after a 20-30-year lapse. You see how the earth reclaims the world, and there’s something beautiful in the question of, as man steps away from being the primary tenant, what happens? That will be especially visual in New York. I don’t know if they’ll climb up to the empire state building, but the possibilities are endless.

We trace back to the original Matheson book, and the alternate ending as opposed to the released ending in the original film. What Matheson was talking about was that man’s time on the planet as the dominant species had come to an end. That’s a really interesting thing we’re going to get to explore. There will be a little more fidelity to the original text.
