The story of the 6888th Postal Directory Battalion, consisting of 855 Black women, has been withdrawn from text books for nearly 75 years, concealing an incredible story of great importance. When these women joined the war effort, they were given the arduous task of sorting through, fixing and delivering the three-year backlog of mail.

The film’s synopsis reads, “Facing discrimination, unfamiliar land, and a war-torn country, they persevered and sorted over 17 million pieces of mail, reconnecting American soldiers with their families and loved ones back home. The motto that kept them going each day was one they created themselves: ‘No Mail, Low Morale.’ The women of the 6888 weren’t just delivering mail, they were delivering hope.”

President Joe Biden signed the bill for the women to receive the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress’ highest honor on March 14th, 2022.

“Six Triple Eight” marks Tyler Perry’s fourth film directed for Netflix. Previous releases include, “A Fall From Grace,” “A Madea Homecoming” and “A Jazzman’s Blues.” The film’s release was officially announced in December and teased to Variety in August 2022. Perry said, “ the film will feature  “some incredible people that were overlooked for years.” Production for the film officially began earlier this week.

[TRAILER] ‘A Lot Of Nothing’ Starring Y’Ian Noel

Screen Shot 2023 01 12 at 3.58.45 PM

Directorial debut of actor/director Mo McRae (The Flight Attendant, Sons of Anarchy

Executive produced by two-time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo (The Water Man)

The suspenseful satirical thriller stars Y’Ian Noel (Insecure), Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on Earth), Lex Scott Davis (Rebel) Shamier Anderson (Invasion) & Justin Hartley (This Is Us

James (Noel) and Vanessa (Coleman) seem to be the perfect couple – happily married, successful, and comfortable. One night, their lives are rocked to the core when, after watching a tragedy play out on the evening news, they realize their neighbor (Hartley) was involved. In a state of shock, and with opposing viewpoints on how to address the issue, they embark on a highly combustible journey to ‘do something’ about it.

Wildly entertaining, humorous, and often absurd, A LOT OF NOTHING acts as a funhouse mirror to reflect the best and worst of humanity – and how our experiences of race, class, family, fear, love, and happiness drive our choices today. Mo McRae dazzles in his feature directorial debut, with a keen visual eye and a fresh, compelling voice. With A LOT OF NOTHING, he offers a pointed take on the micro and macro dynamics at play in many of our lives, tackling them with nuance, finesse, and wit.

Kid Cudi Shuts Down Travis Scott Album Collab, but Leaves Door Open for Future Opportunities

Kid Cudi Shuts Down Travis Scott Album Collab but Leaves Door Open for Future Opportunities

Kid Cudi and Travis Scott will not be releasing an album, Kid Cudi has confirmed, much to the dismay of fans.

On Wednesday, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, got on Twitter to answer fan questions. One of the questions was whether or not a rumored “The Scotts” (referring to Travis Scott and Cudi’s real name) album would be happening.

In response to the fan question, Cudi answered: “Naw im not doin that. The moment has passed.”

The news was met with sad reactions from fans who posted a series of sad memes and gifs.

However, Cudi, who worked with Scott on numerous projects including songs on Cudi’s 2018 LP Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ and Scott’s Astroworld and Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight as well as a 2020 song “The Scotts,” did not rule out future collabs, replying “most def” when asked if they might ever collab on a song together.

Kudi did not address questions such as whether or not Kanye West ever apologized to him or other questions about his personal life and rumored celebrity beefs.

Earlier this year, Cudi contemplated a post-music career of possibly becoming a kindergarten teacher.

As Travis Scott has been slated to headline a series of Rolling Loud festivals, perhaps a surprise appearance by Cudi would appease fans?
