[WATCH] Katt Williams Holds No Bars On Joe Rogan Podcast

Katt Williams to Stream Live Comedy Special on Netflix

The legendary unfiltered comedian Katt Williams didn’t hold back during his three-hour appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” this week, touching on a range of controversial topics and offering candid insights into several of his views.

The interview came nearly two months after Williams made headlines with his candid remarks on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, where he suggested that Joe Rogan had avoided having him on his show. However, Rogan extended an invitation to Williams following the viral interview.

During the conversation, Williams addressed California’s ban on flavored vapes and menthol cigarettes, emphasizing the disproportionate impact on the Black community. He expressed concerns about the classification of menthol as a flavor, highlighting its significance to Black consumers.

When Rogan asked about the preference for menthol cigarettes among Black people, Williams acknowledged the sensitive nature of the topic Katt ripped into Rogan.

“That was fine, but they let it also hurt Black people in that it counted menthol as a flavor,” Williams said.

Rogan then asked, “Why do Black people like menthol cigarettes so much? What’s that about?”

Williams laughed, “You’re gonna get me canceled. This is very racist, this conversation. A Black person actually getting ready to answer this—it’s terrible on all ends.”

The popular comedian said Black people tend to prefer concentrated products and strong flavors.

“Before things were called concentrate, that’s what we appreciated, [what] was concentrated,” Williams said.

“There’s this whole thing with liquor and malt liquor and the difference between the two. One is richer and stronger and as a people, we tend to go with those products. And the fact that menthol is a natural thing, so anybody who’s from the South knows about mint plants — so you appreciate that as a flavor profile as well.”

Moving on to discuss transgenderism, Williams referred to it as a “satanic” trend rather than an identity, drawing parallels to the deity Baphomet, often associated with Satan. He reflected on his awareness of transgenderism as a concept and its connections to religious symbolism.

“20 years ago I knew that transgenders was gonna be a thing,” he said. “The earliest I had seen that word, transgender, was Baphomet, the transgender,” he added.

Baphomet is a deity with the head of a goat and the body of a man. He is often confused with Satan.

“So I knew that in the ritual of Baphomet, the transgender, to show allegiance to him you had to kiss his a*s ring.”

Rogan replied, “We got some good weed, Katt.

Flava Flav, Wu-Tang Clan, Queen Latifah. Norman Anderson a.k.a NORMSKI captured the Golden Age of HIP HOP.

But it didn’t stop there. Subjects of Normski’s work range from the first U.K. appearances of LL Cool J, Eric B. & Rakim and Run DMC, to N.W.A, hanging out with Ice Cube in South Central LA, visiting the pioneers of techno in Detroit and capturing the explosion, and subsequent growth, of hip hop in the U.K.

As a young, Black photographer at the time, Normski wasn’t just taking pictures, he was part of the movement itself. Normski: Man with the Golden Shutter is the FIRST book that takes his most iconic images (several of which have been featured in the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture!) and surprising stories (it was Normski who introduced Run DMC to The Pet Shop Boys) into a glorious coffee table book that offers us a glimpse into hip hop history through his lens.

Future’s Freewishes Foundation Starts S.T.E.A.M Programming for Students

Future Lands His 150th Single on the Billboard Hot 100

The foundation has started programming for marginalized students interested in S.T.E.A.M

Last year, Grammy award-winning entertainer Future and his Freewishes Foundation opened a sleek S.T.E.A.M lab in Atlanta. The lab was just the beginning of the foundation’s  S.T.E.A.M initiative.  At the time, Future stated, “It’s important that all students receive access to S.T.E.A.M education regardless of their background.”

The goal of the Freewishes Foundation is to eradicate the educational gap in tech and science amongst marginalized communities and extend the opportunity for all students to excel in S.T.E.A.M through quality education.

Freewishes has started programming for students in S.T.E.A.M. through a groundbreaking collaboration with Intel.  The collaboration is entitled Intel Future Skills Day.  It was held on  February 26th and February  28th at the Freewishes S.T.E.A.M lab at  Bessie Branham Recreation Center in Kirkwood, where Future grew up.  It is the beginning of more programming for students interested in S.T.E.A.M education. Atlanta students interested in upcoming workshops and programming are encouraged to go to Freewishes.org.

As a company, Intel’s goal is to create world-changing technology that enriches the lives of every person.  In 2016, they made the Intel® Future Skills platform to ensure that the next generation can access the framework needed for a lifetime of problem-solving and discovery through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) learning.

Tia Wilburn, Executive Director of Freewishes, is delighted about the collaboration and how this program will impact students throughout Atlanta.

“We are excited about this opportunity to partner with Intel to further one of our main objectives of S.T.E.A.M education. Our overall objective is to encourage students to become innovators by emphasizing students’ expressions and creativity when solving technical or science-related problems. We want our students to be more than just consumers and assemblers of technology. We want them to be devisers, catalysts for change, and the driving force behind innovation” – Tia Wilburn (Co-founder/Executive Director of FreeWishes Foundation).

Uriah Horne of the Atlanta Network of Intel African Ancestry (NIA) Co-Chair stated the following.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the esteemed FreeWishes Foundation.  Together, we unite our forces to inspire and empower local Atlanta youth through our innovative S.T.E.A.M. project. Intel Future Skills Day represents a pivotal moment for us as we come together to spark curiosity, creativity, and a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics among the young minds in our community. We are excited to further lay the foundation for a future where every child can access the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive in the digital age. Intel is proud to be at the forefront of this transformative journey. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact this collaboration will have, not just on the participants, but on the broader community, as we aspire to light the spark of possibility in the hearts and minds of the next generation.” -Uriah Horne

Kristade Swain (Atlanta Network of Intel African Ancestry (NIA) Co-Chair said,  “We launched this S.T.E.A.M workshop day with the FreeWishes Foundation specifically for students across metro Atlanta as a way to equip them with the vital digital skills needed and to guarantee equitable access to technological opportunities within our community. We strive to emphasize the importance of representation within the tech industry. Who better to spearhead this movement towards greater inclusivity in tech than those who exemplify the richness of diversity we strive to see? Through this initiative, we’re not just teaching skills but hoping to inspire a new generation to see themselves as integral parts of the technological landscape.”   –

The Freewishes Foundation looks forward to creating more programming with Intel as a resource to prepare the future generation in S.T.E.A.M.

Princess Love and Ray J File for Divorce for a Fourth Time

Princess Love and Ray J File for Divorce for a Fourth Time

Princess Love and Ray J may finally be done….or are they? Monday marks the couple’s fourth divorce attempt as records show that Love filed for divorce Monday in L.A. County.

Love also shared a lengthy statement with her Instagram followers:

Dear friends and family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce.

After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways.

We want to reassure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with mutual respect and consideration for each other’s well-being. While our relationship as spouses may be coming to an end, we remain committed to co-parenting our children and maintaining a positive and supportive family dynamic.

We ask for your understanding, support, and respect for our privacy during this challenging time. We are grateful for the love and friendship we have received from each of you throughout our marriage, and we hope to continue nurturing those relationships in the future.

Though this chapter of our lives may be closing, we look forward to embracing the opportunities for growth, healing, and new beginnings that lie ahead. We are confident that with time, understanding, and the support of our loved ones, we will navigate this transition with grace and resilience.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

While most divorce filings are final, that has historically not been the case for this couple. Records show that Ray J filed for divorce in the spring of 2020 only to withdraw, Love filed in the fall of 2020 only to withdraw, and Ray J filed in 2021, once again only to withdraw.

The couple was married in 2016 and have two children: a daughter, Melody Love, and a son, Epik Ray.

Screen Shot 2024 02 26 at 11.19.29 AM

Growing up in the 90’s, A Different World gave many of us a look into college life our families had never known. As a pre-teen I wondered what life would be like at ‘Hillman’ and years later graduated from college heavily influenced by the same television show that would shape my young mind. In a much-anticipated reunion, the beloved cast of the iconic college sitcom “A Different World” is embarking on a 10-city tour, celebrating the rich legacy of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) across the nation. This historic reunion comes 35 years after the show first aired, promising a nostalgic journey for fans and an impactful experience for students and communities alike.

According to a report by The Wrap, the tour will kick off on Feb. 29 in Atlanta, Georgia, a city renowned for its vibrant Black culture and home to several prominent HBCUs. Atlanta’s status as the “Black mecca” sets the perfect stage for the reunion, with its historic institutions like Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Morehouse School of Medicine comprising the Atlanta University Center—the first stop on the tour.

The star-studded cast includes Kadeem Hardison (Dwayne Cleofis Wayne), Darryl M. Bell (Ron Johnson), Charnele Brow (Kimberly Reese), Jasmine Guy (Whitley Marion Gilbert-Wayne), Glynn Turman (Colonel Bradford Taylor), and Sinbad (Walter Oakes). Joining them are “A Different World” producers Susan Fales and Debbie Allen, adding their expertise and insight to the tour.

The reunion tour is not just a celebration of the groundbreaking sitcom but also a platform to highlight the importance of higher education, particularly within the Black community. HBCUs have long been pillars of academic excellence, nurturing generations of students and playing a crucial role in shaping African American culture and history.

Throughout the tour, cast members and producers will engage with students, faculty, and local communities, sharing stories, insights, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes from their time on the show. From panel discussions to meet-and-greets, the tour promises a blend of entertainment, education, and inspiration.

For fans of “A Different World,” the reunion tour offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with beloved characters and relive memorable moments from the show. For students and HBCU communities, it’s a chance to celebrate their heritage, embrace their potential, and be inspired by the achievements of those who paved the way.

As the cast of “A Different World” takes to the stage once again, they carry with them the spirit of unity, resilience, and empowerment that defined the show. The inspiration they gave to a little black girl like myself who dreamed to be as smart as Kim and as loved as Whitley until it became true in real life. Through this reunion tour, they continue to champion the legacy of HBCUs and inspire future generations to pursue their dreams with passion and purpose.

Stay tuned as the “A Different World” reunion tour travels across the nation, spreading joy, knowledge, and a whole lot of nostalgia along the way.

Today In Black History: Civil Rights Icon Malcolm X Is Assassinated 59 Years Ago

Malcolm X

59 years ago today, February 21, 1965, the civil rights activist and leader, Malcolm X, was murdered at 39 years of age. Three men from the Nation of Islam, Thomas Hagan, Norman Butler and Thomas Johnson, were all charged with the Malcolm’s death, yet only Hagan confessed while the other two maintained their innocence. He was killed as he began speaking during the Organization of Afro-American Unity at the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem right in front of his wife and children.

Just one week prior to his assassination, attackers threw Molotov cocktails into his home in East Elmhurst, Queens and started a fire. He made a statement to the New York Daily News at the time of the attack:

“It could have been done by any one of many. I’m not surprised that it was done. It doesn’t frighten me…it doesn’t quiet me down in any way or shut me up.”

He received several death threats from the Nation of Islam, yet there are theories that there was more to his murder since it was known that FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had ordered close surveillance watching Malcolm’s every move for quite some time.

As we commemorate the death of the influential leader Malcolm X, during this Black History Month, let us not forget what great strides have been taken and must continue to be made for the freedom of Black people in America.

Machine Gun Kelly Gets Blackout Tattoo Over Upper Half of His Body

Machine Gun Kelly Gets Blackout Tattoo Over Upper Half of His Body

Machine Gun Kelly has always been known for his tattoos, but this week, he revealed what might be his most jaw-dropping one yet: a blackout tattoo that covers the vast majority of his upper body including his chest, torso, and arms.

The tattoo, which he shared with his followers on IG on Tuesday, is mostly solid black ink with a few small lines that allow his prior tattoo work to peek through. Two negative space lines up top merge with a vertical black line down the artist’s torso to give the appearance of a cross.

The IG post simply read “For spiritual purposes only” and then tagged his tattoo artist, @roxx__ who also shared another picture of MGK on their account. The tattoo artist appears to specialize in bold, black works that emphasize the use of heavy and dark lines to create stunning visuals.

As of Tuesday evening, all other photos on MGK’s IG account appear to have been deleted.
