Doja Cat 5

“I never liked having hair” Doja explained to her 24.1 million followers Thursday night after revealing a new buzz cut during an Instagram live. She was clearly having a transformative moment, mentally and physically and we were all here for it to listen and watch the ‘Kiss Me More’ singer let go of the very thing her fans never see, her natural hair she explains because she is constantly wearing wigs.   “What is the use of having hair if you’re not gonna wear it out, I don’t even sport it. ” Doja says as she talked about her decision to shave off her head. “I feel like I was never supposed to have hair anyway. I never liked having hair. I cannot tell you one time, since the beginning of my life, that I’ve ever been like, ‘This is cool.’ I just do not like to have hair,” she said. The Grammy winner also explained how she’s felt “so f***ing exhausted when working out” while wearing wigs on her head. Admitting to fans how her wigs would get tacky and start pealing off of her head due to moisture and sweat and how she couldn’t focus on the workout as she was more concerned with the way she looked and how her hair was doing. “First of all, I don’t wear my hair out. I don’t wear it natural cause I don’t feel like it. It’s just a f***ing nightmare, dude. I’m over it.” she goes on to say “ What is the use of having hair if you’re not going to wear it out I don’t even sport it.”

After debuting her new buzz cut, with a razor in hand Doja went in to also shave her eyebrows off making the decision to cut it live even revealing that her makeup artist was in a frenzy watching it and was driving over while she did it.  After she finished shaving one side she looked in the mirror and lets out a big oooooohhhhn and a smile.

It doesn’t look like the singer /rapper regrets one bit of her transformation, admitting to fans that she’s obsessed with her new look.  Sometimes you gotta let it go just to keep your sanity.  Thank you Doja for your honesty and for sharing your very personal transformation with us.

Beyoncé Removes Interpolation of “Milkshake” From Song “Energy” And Kelis’ Name From The Credits

Beyonce

Only Queen Bey can shut it all the way down, without saying a word. Beyoncé removed the interpolation of “Milkshake” from her new song “Energy” after Kelis went in on the singer on social media for featuring the snippets of the song, on ‘Energy’ one of the songs in her newly released album “Renaissance,” proclaiming it an “act of thievery,”  going on social media on a rant saying “I just heard the record everyone is saying has my sample. But it’s beyond this song at this point. This was a TRIGGER for me. ‘Milkshake’ alone is one of the most licensed records of our generation. I am a creator, I’m an innovator, I have done more than left my mark on an era of music and style that will go down in history. But there are bullies and secrets and gangsters in this industry that smile and get away with it until someone says enough is enough. So I’m saying it today. I’m coming for what’s mine and I want reparations.”  On the original version of “Energy,” near the song’s end, Beyoncé sang a variation of the “La-la, la-la, la” that Kelis made famous on “Milkshake” Now, Tidal and Apple have removed the interpolation of the song that appears on ‘Energy’  It’s unclear when other streaming services will update the track on their platforms.

It has been an unexpectedly rocky release for Beyonce despite receiving rave reviews for her dance album,” Renaissance” has had its share of controversy, From the day before its drop, last Friday, the Album was leaked online,  On Monday, Beyoncé announced she would be removing the word “spaz” from the song “Heated” following backlash from critics who said the word is an ableist slur. And hours after the official release singer, chef, Kelis when on social media to voice her frustration that her song “Milkshake” was being used without the courtesy of a heads up.(Note:  Beyoncé’s website also noted the song was interpolated, which takes an existing sound and alters it, whereas sampling takes directly from a song with no changes). Songwriting legend Diane Warren slammed, her for having 24 writers on one song, and now Monica Lewinsky is asking to remove her name from “Partition” lyrics. We’ll just keep dancing and watching while Bey blocks all negativity that comes her way.

Beyoncé To Remove Ableist Lyric From Song “Heated” After Criticism From Disabled Community

Beyoncé

Beyoncé recently released her long awaited follow up to 2016’s Lemonade entitled Renaissance. While the album has received critical acclaim, Beyoncé has been facing criticism from the disabled community for her use of the slur “spaz” in the song “Heated.”

In the song, Beyoncé sings “Spazzin’ on that ass, spazz on that ass.” The word “spaz” is derived from the word “spastic” which refers to the medical condition known as spastic cerebral palsy.

According to CNN, a representative for Beyoncé told the news outlet earlier today, Aug. 1, that the slur would be removed from the song, saying that “the word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced.”

Social media was split on the decision to remove the lyric. While disability advocates came in support of the lyric change, others asked if it was necessary given its different meaning in the Black community.

This comes just months after Lizzo faced criticism from the disabled community over her use of the slur “spaz” in her song “Grrrls.”

“It’s been brought to my attention that there is a harmful word in my new song ‘GRRRLS.’ Let me make one thing clear: I never want to promote derogatory language,” Lizzo wrote. “As a fat black woman in America, I’ve had many hateful words used against me so I understand the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case unintentionally). I’m proud to say there’s a new version of GRRRLS with a lyric change.”

TikTok’s ‘Pink Sauce’ Creator Goes Live To Defend The Viral Condiment

Chef Pii 4

Miami-based Private Chef, Chef Pii went viral when she showed herself dipping fried chicken into a mysterious pink sauce that she created.  And she’s been at the center of the barbie colored, Pepto Bismol swirl of controversy ever since and the subject of many TikTok videos giving opinions, thoughts, and reactions to the mysterious ‘Pink Sauce.’ The Pink Sauce supposedly sweet and spicy in taste is compared by some to ranch dressing it’s a dipping sauce that can be used on top of foods like fried chicken, french fries, and vegetables, “It’s like a  vinaigrette or a Wingstop ranch because it’s not so thick” Pii explains as she doesn’t like the texture of the traditional salad dressing.

Over the last few months, Chef Pii has been bombarded with questions, a lot of them health-related, from consumers  like, “What’s in it?” “What up with the label on the packing? (as there were many errors from spelling mistakes to the sizing being off), “Why does the shade of pink different in every picture?” and “Is it FDA approved?” The Source wants to know, why are so many people consuming this product where there are so many unanswered questions?  On Monday, the 29-year-old mother of two went live on Social media answering questions about the ‘Pink Sauce’. When someone asked whether her Pink Sauce was FDA approved she responded with  “What do you mean FDA approved?” continuing by saying  “The Pink Sauce is not a medical product. The Pink Sauce doesn’t contribute to your health.”

For the few who do not know, FDA means Food and Drug Administration, which states that the FDA “regulates all foods and food ingredients introduced into or offered for sale in interstate commerce.”  In other words, if you are going to sell food across different states, you’ll need to be fully aware of the FDA requirements. and if you go to their website they even have a page for “How to Start a Food Business” We’re working rapidly to fix all the problems, reaching back out to our customers who actually purchased the product and communicating with them diligently.“  She assures the Live attendees.   See below the Live video of Chef Pii answering consumers’ questions in its entirety. Kehlani Claps Back and Shares Message After Viral Starbucks Clip “Therapy Works Babes, I’m Proof”

Kehlani 2

Kehlani became a trending topic on Twitter on Wednesday after a video clip posted by Christian Walker, son of the current Republican Senate nominee for Georgia, Herschel Walker, goes viral while they are in a Starbucks drive-through.  The bruhaha all started when Walker, 22 posted a video of the heated exchange on his Twitter account, “This mediocre singer that everyone’s forgotten about, Kehlani, told my baristas at Starbucks that I was an ‘a**hole’ and to be ‘safe around me.’ Well, I set her straight.” Continuing, “I’m tired of these fake woke people being rude to everyone and acting like they’re the good ones.”  in the video Walker is filming Khelani who looks completely unscathed and unbothered, in her car while walker is yelling “Everyone’s entitled to an opinion-you’re so rude, or you wouldn’t be telling barista workers that I’m an a-hole…Get your drink and go.

Fans of Kehlani quickly jumped in and responded pointing out how calm and collected the singer remained while criticizing walker for approaching the car” Kehlani looking radiant and unbothered. At the same time, Christian Walker is pressed and distressed.” one wrote.

Kehlani joins in later by posting a screenshot of part of the video with the caption in Instagram stories “A Taurus” and also responding on Twitter with a video letting fans know that part of why she was calm was because while the altercation was going down, she coincidentally was on a virtual therapy session with her therapist talking about people misplacing anger when they are ma. She ended it by posting a picture giving an air kiss and  writing “Therapy works babes, I’m living proof.”

Idris and Sabrina Elba partners in life and now business were one of the first to go public when they contracted the Corona virus which they both battled together. Within months of staying in place and quarantining with the rest of the world, the two launched and created The Hub by S’able Labs, a website discussing interpersonal relationships and partnerships and how they pertain to self-care, in 2020, followed by an Audible podcast, ‘Coupledom’. As the Elbas began to build out conversations around coupledom and partnership, and how it relates to self-care, their attention turned to skincare and how couples and families overall traditionally share skincare products. And S’able Labs skincare line was born. “We’re a partnership, and skincare is something we can share. We are both on the same page about feeling good externally and it helps us approach our day,” Idris in an interview S’able which is the “Elbas” spelled backwards is designed to be a genderless multi-use skincare with responsibly sourced ingredients in collaboration with small farmers from around the globe specifically Africa.  “I think if we learned anything in the pandemic, it’s that we really have to be working together to get through anything,” Sabrina states in an interview.

The debut assortment consists of a line of three products a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer with ingredients like Qasil harvested from the leaves of the Gob tree, baobab from the African baobab, also referred to as the “Tree of Life,” and black seed with anti-inflammatory properties.
