Rihanna “Can’t Wait To Kill It” At Super Bowl Halftime Show

We’re unsure what Rihanna has in store for her big Super Bowl performance, but a source says she’s been “killing it” in rehearsals. In less than two weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will face off for the NFL title, but it isn’t just the game everyone is talking about. Since it was announced that Rihanna would be this year’s halftime performer, there has been speculation regarding what the show will look like.

It was also rumored that Rihanna was filming her halftime experience for a forthcoming documentary. This would be much like Jennifer Lopez did for her Super Bowl performance or how Beyoncé chronicled her Coachella concert. The upcoming halftime display marks Rihanna’s epic return to the stage after taking time to focus on her other business ventures and motherhood.

Rihanna has kept most details regarding her highly-anticipated performance quiet for now. However, it’s possible that A$AP Rocky could be joining her on stage considering their relationship.

When asked about Rihanna’s performance during an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Rocky expressed his excitement.

“The Super Bowl is huge, and her being the creative she is, she going to bring it, man,” he teased. “I’m so glad that my lady’s back making music again and whatnot, and getting back out there. It’s just incredible.”

A number of other stars have expressed their excitement at Rihanna’s selection as the next Super Bowl Halftime performer.

When she first made the announcement, Jay-Z said: “[She] is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment.”

One voice who has been less optimistic as of late, which has caused quite a controversy, is Stephen A. Smith.

Super Bowl LVII is set to kick off on Sunday, February 12.

Being outside and working and being creative, it drives more energy for you, to obviously, to think and soak things up like a sponge now that I’m a dad, because I have a whole nother perspective.”

The couple has shared few images of their little one with the public. With two high-profile parents, the baby will need all the privacy he can get in his early years. Additionally, this new “perspective” Rocky speaks of has its benefits.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show Will No Longer Be Sponsored By Pepsi

Pepsi has announced that the company will no longer sponsor the NFL’s Super Bowl Halftime Show after 10 years as the musical partner for the show. In that time, fans have seen memorable performances from the likes of Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, The Weekend, and most recently, Dr. Dre and friends. Although the beverage company didn’t give a reason for the change, a release on Twitter thanked the 26 musical acts who played the show over the past decade.

“After 10 years of iconic Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show performances, we have decided it’s time to pass the mic,” Pepsi’s official Twitter posted. “Thank you to the amazing artists and fans who helped us create some incredible moments along the way. Now on to the next stage… ” A follow-up tweet recounted some of the Halftime Show’s accolades over the past few years. Pepsi touted, “26 musical acts representing 168 Grammys and almost 1,000 Billboard hits have rocked the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show stage over the past 10 years.”

There have been no similar announcements from the official NFL or Super Bowl Twitter accounts, the latter of which hasn’t been updated since December of 2021. Meanwhile, a press statement from Pepsi says that the company’s overall partnership with the NFL will continue, introducing new programming, sports drinks, and activations for the NFL.

Kendrick Lamar’s Rumored New Single Might Be Dropping Before The Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Super Bowl Halftime Show has become one of the biggest events in music. Last year, The Weeknd cited his booking at the big game as something that possibly drove The Grammys to snub him for his most successful album to date, After Hours, that’s how important it’s become. This year, the NFL has assembled an all-star crew, tapping Dr. Dre to lead Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige. And even though all those veterans on one stage together — or rather, one football field together — is a huge deal, it’s inevitably still Kendrick that’s going to steal the spotlight.

Why? Because fans are starving for new music from the sometimes dubbed “greatest rapper alive,” who hasn’t released much of anything since his electric Damn back in 2017. That’s three years deep into a pandemic with no new bars from Kung Fu Kenny to help us get by. At this point, fans are grabbing onto any hints at all that the SUper Bowl will be a runway ramp for Kendrick’s new album release, and Billboard has got those straws, no matter how flimsy they might be.

Asking fans to vote in an R&B/hip-hop poll about anticipated music yesterday, they dropped these lines in about Kendrick: “sources tell Billboard a Lamar single may arrive on Feb 4. or Feb. 11 before he plays the Super Bowl halftime show.”

I’ll take it! Okay Kendrick, after months of teasing that the new album is done, it’s time to release it.
