Deb Antney Says OJ Da Juiceman Is A “Real Street Guy,” Gucci Mane Isn’t

Deb Antney is speaking out against one of her former clients. In a recent press run, the music manager responds to some past claims from OJ Da Juiceman.

Last year, the “Make the Trap Say Aye” rapper made some bold accusations against his former manager.

While appearing on the Big Facts podcast in March last year, he claimed to have signed a bad deal with Antney and her record label, Mizay Entertainment. He alleges to never seeing any money from his 2009 album, The Otha Side of the Trap.

Antney’s son is none other than Waka Flocka Flame, who later came to his mother’s defence. The two went back and forth via their Instagram stories. “Bruh, you lame as f*ck, talkin’ ’bout n****s stole from you. P*ssy ass n***a. You know who stole from you, you lame ass n***a. Stop puttin’ that sh*t on my mama,” the “No Hands” rapper clapped back in response.

In an interview with the Ugly Money Podcast earlier this week, the music manager denies these claims from OJ. When asked about it, she opens up about the situation. “Every interview I ever did, I tell people I neglected him. And I’ll sit here and say that right now, to this day, still, I neglected him because he didn’t give me no fever. Juice was good. He was quiet, no matter what he did,” she exclaimed.

Furthermore, she took some time to set the record straight about OJ and his frequent collaborator, Gucci Mane. “He was really the street one. It wasn’t Gucci, it was him. He was the street guy. That’s who the real street guy was, Juice. But he wanted to change his life. He really wanted to change his life,” she claims.

At the end of the clip, however, she sounds confused as to why the Atlanta rapper would’ve made these accusations. “All the stuff that we did together that you wanted to do, why would you lie on me and say that I did that to you? Why? You know I didn’t do that to you,” she says afterwards.

Antney has also managed Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj in the past. She was also a cast member in seasons three-six of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta.

Management mogul Debra Antney appeared on the candid Hip Hop-centered podcast My Expert Opinion, which is led by battle rap mainstay Math Hoffa and opened up about the in-house tension between Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj. Antney, who jumpstarted the careers of both artists, says simply that Nicki wanted it more than all of her artists.

Ms. Antney, nicknamed “pitbull in a skirt”, says that Gucci couldn’t stand Nicki, saying, “You know what hurt me? Gucci couldn’t stand her. He didn’t like Nicki.” Deb added that it was because Gucci couldn’t sleep with Nicki, and she went on to claim that Gucci is “very selfish.”

She added that she didn’t know how Gucci could even sign artists to his 1017 imprint, because, in her expert opinion, his own selfish agenda, She said, “Because you got to understand. The artists ain’t never gonna let another artist become bigger than them.”

Deb Antney Claims Gucci Mane “Couldn’t Stand” Nicki Minaj

Gucci Mane has one of the most legendary careers in hip-hop. Whether or not you like his music, he’s had a heavy role in shaping the current landscape of hip-hop. Though artists like Waka Flocka, Young Thug, and Migos came up under his wing, perhaps, one of his most notable protegés is Nicki Minaj. However, Wop wasn’t the biggest fan of the Young Money rapper, according to Deb Antney.

Antney, Waka Flocka’s mom and founder of Mizay Entertainment, sat down with Math Hoffa and co. on My Expert Opinion. At one point in the interview, she said that Gucci Mane didn’t actually like Nicki Minaj, mainly because she refused to sleep with him.

“You know what hurt me? Gucci couldn’t stand her,” she said. “He didn’t like Nicki. Because he couldn’t fuck her. He didn’t like her! But for you to give these big-ups to the shit that he did? That shit was crazy! He ain’t do nothing for you! He didn’t even like her!”

Though the two worked together on a few occasions, Antney said it was a task to get Gucci on a song with Nicki MInaj.

“He had a fit when I had her getting on a record,” she said. “But I wanted all of them to work together because we’re a family, so we all have to be together. It can’t be any of this.”

Ultimately, Antney questioned Gucci’s abilities as a record executive, as well as his business acumen. She accused Wop of being “selfish,” especially when it comes to signing artists.

“He’s very selfish,” Antney said. “He’s very much to himself. I don’t even understand how he gets to sign artists. I never let artists sign to other artists because they not gonna let them become bigger than them.”

Antney’s recollection of Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj’s relationship corroborates the latter’s claim following Wop’s infamous tweet storm. During the Twitter rant, Gucci alleged that he and Waka Flocka had sex with Nicki Minaj. “Me and waka fuck nikki minaj dats nothing,” he wrote. “Her intervention my dick in her throat I moved dat bitch to atl. Bitch u was sleepin n d car. Bitch. I pulled dat bitch off wayne bus.”

Nicki quickly denied that there was any truth behind Gucci’s claim, calling him a crack head and Bubba Gump. Gucci later admitted to being wrong in the situation and blamed his addiction to lean on the outburst.

Gucci Mane Called Out Pooh Shiesty’s ‘Unacceptable’ Prison Conditions And Demanded An Investigation

In April, Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to five years in prison. He was indicted on four firearms charges after a shooting incident in October of 2020 at the Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. Unfortunately, his time at the United States Penitentiary Pollock (USP Pollock) has been worse than he expected, according to Gucci Mane.

Gucci Mane made a post standing up for Pooh Shiesty yesterday, December 14, bringing awareness to the prison conditions. He posted a photo of text that read: “We do not pay attention to how inmates in the US are treated! @poohshiesty has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23 hr lock down and given empty food trays. USP Pollack should be investigated immediately.” In the caption he called for action: “This is unacceptable! #movepooh #prisonreform @potus @vp @kamalaharris.”

Shiesty seemed rather optimistic entering prison, making a post that read, “The biggest.. I just wanna thank all my love ones. Supporters. And fans for holding me down during these hard times. I wish I could be comingg home to yall today but this couldve been wayyyy worse, I will be back sooner than yall think ! But meantime new music dropping next week, blrrrd!!!” Hopefully Mane’s post will make some change.

Gucci Mane Advocates Against Pooh Shiesty’s “Unacceptable” Prison Conditions

Rapper and business mogul Gucci Mane used his Instagram for justice earlier this week while discussing Poosh Shiesty’s prison conditions. Tagging President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris, the “Lemonade” artist called the situation “unacceptable.”

“We do not pay attention to how inmates in the US are treated. @poohshiesty has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23 hr lockdown and given empty food trays,” Gucci Mane shared on Instagram Wednesday.

He then added, “USP Pollack should be investigated immediately.”

No stranger to being behind bars, the 42-year-old was released in 2016 after being imprisoned for over two years.

Shiesty, an artist under Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, was arrested last year in Florida. He was later hit with several federal charges for firearm possession, discharging a firearm, and robbery conspiracy.

The Memphis native was sentenced to 63 months in prison after allegedly opening fire on a security guard. Shiesty is also expected to be under three-year supervision following his future release.

Seemingly posting to his social media from the slammer, the “Back in Blood” rapper made a post on his Instagram in August.

“The police don’t stop watchin just cus you in jail and you can go to jail inside of jail,” he wrote. “Just let that sink in y’all small a*s unconscious head.”

Prior to his arrest, Shiesty was a rising star under the new 1017 lineup with label mates Foogiano and Big Scarr.

On how he and Gucci Mane crossed paths, he shared in early 2021 that it was a DM that sparked the relationship.

Sitting down with SiriusXM, he revealed at the time, “Yeah, he DM’ed me on Instagram. That’s how it all took off. He heard one song, “Main Slime,” and he DM’ed me. And now that’s what’s going on.”

Continuing to satisfy his fanbase, Shiesty released Shiesty Season: Certified earlier this year, a deluxe version of his previous mixtape. Gucci Mane was featured on the project along with Jack Harlow, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Durk.

Gucci Mane’s ‘So Icy Boyz: The Finale’ Album Is Over Three Hours Long And A Whopping Eighty Songs

Gucci Mane dropped a brand new compilation album, So Icy Boyz: The Finale, and it just might be a contender for the longest record this year. At a whopping 80 tracks, the four-disc project runs for over three hours. Produced by Zaytoven, the album features KATO2x, Li Rye, Mac Critter, Sett, and TLE Cinco. Lil Baby, Jeremih, Trey Songz, 2 Chainz, Offset, Quavo, and OJ Da Juiceman also contributed.

As many have pointed out, Gucci Mane’s album goes longer than any regular movie. Even the Marvel multiverse ones.

If you’re someone who prefers to stream a record in its entirety, turning your way through the tracks on this one feels like an impossible challenge in one go. The listeners who sit through it all should be subject to some sort of prize, like competing in a food-eating challenge. It gets even more difficult if you have a limited attention span.

While So Ice Boyz: The Finale doesn’t rival the longest movies ever made, there are quite a few it has beaten the record for: The Irishman, The Godfather: Part II, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Titanic, and the recent trending film Twitter discourse on Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du commerce, 1080 Bruxelles. To be fair though, these are all great movies, so Gucci Mane’s record is in good company.

Gucci Mane’s So Icy Boyz: The Finale is out now. Buy/stream it here.
