Steph Curry poured in 31 points and 11 assists as the Warriors beat the Mavericks 109-100 in Game Three in Dallas. Curry guided Golden State to a 3-0 lead in the series as the team now sits one win away from returning to the NBA Finals.
Andrew Wiggins also chipped in with 27 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Curry and Wiggins are the second duo with 25-point double-doubles this postseason.
Luka Doncic was no slouch as he led Dallas with 40 points and Spencer Dinwiddie added 26 points off the bench in the loss.
The Mavericks will look to avoid a sweep in Game Four on Tuesday night.
Golden State Warriors global superstar guard Stephen Curry is officially a college graduate. Chef Curry hit Twitter and revealed he graduated this past Saturday.
âDream Come True!! Class of 2010âŚ.aka 2022 but we got it done!â Curry wrote on Twitter. âThanks to my whole village that helped me get across the finish line. Made the promise when I left and had to see it through. Official @davidsoncollege alum Momma we made it! #greatdaytobeawildcatâ
Curry just needed to complete one semester of coursework, according to Davidson College. He enrolled for the spring semester and worked with two Davidson faculty members, a Stanford University professor and a UC Santa Cruz professor who both taught Stephen at Davidson. He now has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in sociology.
Curry had to miss his graduation, as he and his Warriors prepared for the Western Conference Finals against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors won game one at home 112-87. Game 2 is set for Friday night at Chase Arena in San Francisco.
Golden State Warriorsâ Draymond Green doesnât run from any smoke thrown his way. On Fridayâs episode of ESPNâs First Take, Kendrick Perkins ripped Green for being scared to shoot the ball and doing more talking than balling.
After eliminating the Memphis Grizzlies in 6 games and clinching a spot in the Western Conference Finals, Green aired out Perkins in possibly the worst way ever, including calling the man an ogre.
âSomething came to my phone earlier,â Green said to reporters. âSome guy saying Iâm scared to shoot the basketball. Scared and me in the same sentence is brutal. But you got a big ogre on TV talking about what Draymond says ainât the gospel. It is the gospel. What I say is the gospel. When you say that multiple times on several different segments, you must think what I say is the gospel. So, you got to come out and shut some guys up sometimes. When you got people talking out the side of their neck. âAnybody can make the pass Draymond make.â Thatâs just stupid.
âBut these are people who get employed to talk on TV about our game. âAnybody could make that pass.â You make that pass. Weâd love to see it. I played against the guy by the way. Iâm talking about Kendrick Perkins for those of yâall that donât know. Iâm never duckinâ no smoke. As the Memphis Grizzliesâ towels say, I donât duck smoke. âAnybody could make that pass.â You couldnât, so good luck. You just got to come out and shut people up sometimes. It was very fun to do.â
Not too long after Green made those comments, Perkins took to social media to fire right back with a funny quote âYou ainât handsome! You damn sure ainât cute!â
While the back and forth makes for great tv, Green and the Warriors have regained their championship form. Donât expect the back and forth to end anytime soon. Perkins has a right to express his opinion, and Green has his.
Grammy Award-winning hip-hop musician Rhymefest and iconic hip-hop artist J.U.I.C.E. have signed multi-album recording agreements with Golden State Entertainment, the new entertainment affiliate of the 6x NBA Champions Golden State Warriors. Golden State Entertainment has also formed a strategic partnership with Grammy Award-winning producer and industry executive Dion âNo I.D.â Wilson, who will release new music by Grammy-nominated singer and producer Georgia Anne Muldrow.
Golden State Entertainmentâs Creative and Strategic Advisor will be No I.D. No I.D. has produced for and helped expand the careers of a diverse group of recording artists, including Kanye West, Jay-Z, Snoh Aalegra, John Mayer, J. Cole, Jhene Aiko, and Common. He was previously Executive Vice President of A&R for Def Jam Recordings and Executive Vice President for Capitol Music Group.
Rhymefest, who won a Grammy Award for writing Kanye Westâs 2005 smash âJesus Walksâ and another for co-writing the 2016 song âGloryâ with John Legend and Common, has signed a multi-album deal with GSE. Rhymefest, who was born in Chicago, has had several big singles, including the 2006 song âBrand New,â which featured Kanye West. He also starred in Emilio Estevezâs 2018 film The Public, which was written and directed by him, and was a central figure in Kanye Westâs Netflix documentary âJeen-Yuhs.â
âIâm proud to be a part of the âGold Bloodedâ family. Theyâve assembled an all-star musical team and I know how to be a team player. Iâm looking forward to bringing all my talents, skills and relationships as we re-create the future of hip-hop,â said Rhymefest.
J.U.I.C.E., a Chicago native, is best known for his rise on the freestyle battle circuit and his 1997 victory over Eminem in a freestyle rap fight. J.U.I.C.E. is more than just a battle rapper; heâs released seven albums and is set to release a joint album with All Natural, which will be produced by Georgia Anne Muldrow.
âWhether or not you root for the Warriors, you always know that there is going to be a certain level of quality product on the court. I think the same care is being taken in putting together both the music and film wings at GSE. So it means the world to be part of an already respected institution where all you have to do is step into your role and continue to make creative contributions which reinforce that narrative.â
Golden State Entertainment, a new affiliate company created by the Warriors in April, will generate original material to tell captivating tales that are both rooted in and transcend the worlds of sports and entertainment. GSE will produce documentaries, work with recording artists on musical releases as well as marketing and collaboration opportunities, and stage culturally significant events in the Bay Area and around the world.
When K-pop rapper BamBam performed at halftime of a Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers game this past April at the Chase Center in San Francisco, fans probably had no idea that BamBamâs âWheels Upâ (featuring Oakland rapper Mayzin) was the first song released on the Warriorsâ new record label. But the collaboration is a testament to the wide range of music that the label, Golden State Entertainment, led by producer No ID as its creative and strategic adviser, will be releasing.
No ID will be âoverseeing music production and helping the company develop its long-term vision,â of the diverse roster and overall operation, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report. âWe are on the cusp of something truly special, and I look forward to discovering new ways to bridge the worlds of content, sports, entertainment and technology,â he told the Chronicle. Splashed on the front page of the Golden State Entertainment website is the statement, âRooted in, while transcending, the world of sports & entertainment.â
Also on the labelâs roster, are LA-via-Chicago rapper Juice and Chicago-based Kanye West collaborator Rhymefest. The venerable Georgia Anne Muldrow is also set to be both an artist and a producer for Golden State Entertainment. The label will focus on hip-hop and R&B primarily, but are taking a full-on âcontent productionâ approach that also includes documentaries and artist co-hosted events at the Warriors homebase at the Chase Center
The first album put out by Golden State Entertainment will to be a release from, Juice, featuring Chicago OGâs All Natural and produced by Muldrow. Juice told the San Francisco Chronicle that this is a unique scenario, indicating that, âThe main advantage that stands out to me is being able to move at a faster pace than most traditionally established record labels. There is no red tape, bureaucracy or pressure to emulate our competitors. And there is established distribution behind the company that is constantly working with us to assist in furthering all of our creative vision.â
The Golden State Warriors are putting the Western Conference on notice with their outstanding play in the first two games of their matchup with the Denver Nuggets.
The Warriors have taken a commanding 2-0 lead. They have neutralized defending league MVP Nikola Jokic and the entire Nuggets team with a new death lineup with Jordan Poole playing the role of former Warrior Kevin Durant.
The full unit took the court with 6:02 remaining in the second quarter, with Golden State trailing 43-35. By the time the halftime whistle sounded, the Warriors had led, 57-51. The new death lineup, which has yet to receive a proper nickname, launched a 22-8 run in half a quarter, and the way they did it should terrify the Nuggets, but whichever teams get in their way in upcoming playoff rounds.
âItâs a passerâs paradise for me,â Green said after the Game 2 win. âYouâve got those three guys [Curry, Thompson and Poole] out there at the same time, for me as a passer, thatâs heaven. ⌠You canât ask for anything more on the offensive end, any more options than that.â
Steph Curry came off the bench and shot. Curry shot 12-for-17 (71%) from the field, the highest field goal percentage of his playoff career. Itâs the first time in his career he scored 30-plus points in fewer than 25 minutes (regular season or playoffs), even though it was the 48th time he played 25 minutes or less.
The Warriors will look to take a 3 -0 lead in Denver on Thursday night.
Hip-hopâs favorite gambler is at it again. Drake, who recently placed three bets on the Super Bowl for a shade over a million bucks (he hit two of them) and lost $100K when North Carolina beat Duke in the NCAA tournament, is putting some serious coin down on the NBA Playoffs. While Drake is a part owner of the Eastern Conferenceâs Toronto Raptors and a well-documented courtside presence at their games, heâs looking for action in Western Conference playoffs instead.
Drake has put down $200,000 Canadian dollars (about $158,624 US) on the Golden State Warriors to win the Western Conference Finals and make it to the NBA Finals. The rapper posted a screenshot of the online betting slip on his Instagram Story showing that the Warriors have 5 to 1 odds to come out of the West.
Drake just dropped a MASSIVE $200K bet on the Warriors to win the West
If they make it to the Finals, Drake would claim a cool $1 million Canadian dollars ($793,112). Itâs a bold bet considering the Phoenix Suns were the best team in the West in the regular season by a comfortable eight game margin. The Warriors are set to open the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets, which wonât be a walk in the park considering how unguardable Nikola Jokic can be. If they win that series, theyâll face the winner of the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves. A showdown with the Suns in the West finals is the likeliest outcome and Drake can only hope that âSteph Curry with the shot boyâ is healthy all series, dominates and takes the Dubs into the finals.
Three-time NBA Champion Draymond Green is back on the basketball court and is ready to make another title run with the Golden State Warriors. Ahead of his grueling playoff run, green has announced a new partnership with Amazon Glow, which showcases how the device keeps him engaged with his family while on the road.
Ahead of taking on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in San Francisco at the Chase Center before a couple of games in Denver. Draymond detailed his use of the Amazon Glow, balancing work and family, and what he expects of the young players on the Golden State Warriors.
The SOURCE:You are juggling a lot! You are, of course, a basketball star, then the efforts of a businessman and media member. With that said, fatherhood is the most important, how did Amazon Glow become the tool for helping you stay connected with your children?
Draymond Green: Amazon Glow has truly bridged the gap and helped lessen the miles between myself and my children. With Amazon Glow, I am able to actively participate with my kids in their day-to-day life whether that be reading with them or helping them with cognitive learning exercises. Amazon Glow has allowed me to interact with my children and help with their upbringing even though I am hundreds of miles away.
How were you originally introduced to Amazon Glow?
I found Amazon Glow as I was constantly looking for devices to make my life easier with travel. Oftentimes, travel can interfere with family life with different school schedules, practice schedules, etc. I was looking for a way to bring me closer to my children while I am on the road and Amazon Glow is a great solution.
How did you stay connected with a busy life prior to Amazon Glow?
My wife, she is 100% the backbone of our family and keeps us all in order and the kids on track. She is the one who also fosters our relationship when I am on the road. I am extremely for her and to have the opportunity to now interact with the kids regardless of where I am in the world.
What were your initial reactions to Amazon Glow and how did it make a difference in your life?
It was amazing, the first time we used it I was able to see the kidsâ pure reactions which was priceless. Being able to play games like memory match and charades with them or read with them, even while Iâm far away, is everything. Glow makes it feel like weâre magically sitting side-by-side in the same room. As a parent, I want to be able to interact with my kids daily and be a part of their upbringing as much as I can, thankfully Amazon Glow has allowed me to do that.
We had a lengthy absence for you this season. How did it feel both physically and mentally getting back on the court?
Physically I feel pretty good about 85%, but mentally I feel fantastic. I have never been injured for this long before and it grew my appreciation for the game tremendously. Just to have the opportunity to do what I love again and to compete with my teammates instead of watching from home on the couch meant everything to me.
We finished the final week of the season. Had a big win against Utah. Put up a strong effort against Phoenix. And those were without Steph. What have you seen in your team these last couple of weeks and how do you view your team headed into the first round?
As a team, I think we have finally started to turn the corner. Before we were in a rut, losing a game and then winning the next, but eventually we could finally see it turning in our favor. I will say, not many teams pop out of a rut with a 50-point win. Now we are playing our brand of basketball again and it is coming at the right time.
You have played on some deep teams. This one is deep but young. How do you expect the younger guys on the team to transition into playoff basketball?
I think they are transitioning well; most teams raise their level of competition/physicality inthe last 20-30 games of the season in anticipation of playoffs. I think initially we struggled since we are a younger team and are more inexperienced, but once we went through our adjustment period, we were able to raise our level of physicality and raise our level of competitiveness.
Only thirteen NBA players have had their number retired from multiple teams. Kevin Durant believes he should be number fourteen.
In an interview with The Ringer, the 12-time All-Star said he thinks his jersey should be retired in Oklahoma City and San Francisco.Â
âOKC has to retire my jersey,â Durant said. âIt wouldnât even be good for the game of basketball if they didnât. The same with Golden State. Iâm still doing what Iâm doing here in Brooklyn, but if I continue on what Iâm doing four or five years, then Iâll feel the same way about this program. I better have a home. Because I feel like I am basketball. I breathe it. This is my DNA. I put in the time and respect and love for each one of these programs on and off the floor to get that type of recognition. If I donât do it, then itâs personal.â
Durant is an all-time great talent on the court. He is entitled to have his opinion and could be on to something here. The Golden State Warriors have already gone on record stating they will eventually retire his number. The Oklahoma City Thunder havenât gone on records about retiring Durantâs number but should consider it. Durant won his first league MVP while with the Thunder. He helped lead the team to its last NBA Finals appearance in 2012. Will the Thunder eventually retire Durantâs number? Who knows, but the case for doing it is a solid one.
