Vanessa Bryant Poses With New Kobe And Gigi Murals

Vanessa Bryant has taken to social media to show off new murals in Compton honoring her late husband and daughter. The murals are outside of the Wilson Park Gymnasium, which was recently refurbished. At the reopening, Vanessa revealed that building a public basketball court was a longtime goal for her family. “For years we’ve been trying to build a basketball court in a public space in L.A,” she explained. “We’re so thankful to council member (Andre) Spicer and Mayor (Emma) Sharif for allowing us to be included in your community.”

“Thank you for showing up and showing out for our exclusive court reopening at Wilson Park in honor of Kobe and Gianna,” she wrote alongside photos of the murals. “Special thanks to artist @sloe_motions for the incredible mural & @lisaleslie and @traeyoung for being a big part of this special occasion,” she also added. Vanessa then went on to say, “To our donors – you made this happen. Every single dollar you’ve donated and merch you’ve purchased from the foundation goes toward our mission of creating positive impact for underserved athletes and boys & girls in sports.”

Gigi Bryant To Be Honored With This Nike Kobe 4 Protro

Gigi Bryant and her father Kobe tragically lost their lives three years ago in a helicopter accident. Seven others were also killed in the crash, and it remains one of the most shocking tragedies of the last few years. Overall, Gigi and Kobe’s memories are still being honored. In the immediate aftermath of their passing, we saw numerous tributes to them. Whether it be jerseys or massive murals on the side of walls, there is no doubt that these two were beloved.

Moreover, in order to pay respect to Kobe and Gigi, Nike decided to take a step back from releasing Kobe sneakers. Back in 2020, the brand was looking to come through with all sorts of Kobe retros. However, they realized that this probably would not be the best look. Eventually, they came back with some new Kobe-inspired kicks before their contract with the Bryant estate ran out. For a while, it seemed like Nike would no longer be permitted to make Kobe sneakers. Now, however, they have a new deal with Vanessa Bryant, and it seems like Nike is ready to take advantage.

Gigi Bryant x Nike

Overall, it is an incredibly clean color scheme that fans will most definitely enjoy. It also helps that this is just an all-time great Kobe silhouette.

For now, this shoe is rumored to drop on May 1st, which just so happens to be Gigi’s birthday. Although, this release date has not yet been confirmed by Nike directly.
