G Herbo Opens Up About Handling Depression: ‘There’s People Out There Who Just Care’

Ahead of his upcoming album, Survivor’s Remorse, G Herbo stopped by Ebro In The Morning this past Friday for a very raw, intimate conversation. During their interview, Herbo discussed how he’s dealt with depression. Specifically, he emphasized the importance of opening up to people who can empathize.

“You don’t even know the support that you have until you open up and say something,” Herbo said. “It don’t have to be your family; it don’t have to be your closest friends. There’s people out there who just care because they understand what you’re going through.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Herbo opened up about losing his brother, who was fatally shot last year. He admitted that he turned to alcohol to numb the pain.

“When I started drinking liquor I was not myself,” he said. “I didn’t even know how to handle it being off liquor, because I was doing it to grieve.”

Last night, Herbo joined Nicki Minaj during her headlining performance at Rolling Loud New York. The two first collaborated in 2014, on Minaj’s underground hit, “Chiraq.” The two performed “Chiraq” to an audience who shouted back every word.

Nicki Minaj‘s headlining set at Rolling Loud New York was a celebration of her hits, both old and new. Over the course of her career, spanning over 15 years, Minaj has become a force in hip-hop with her several solo hits and her iconic collaborations.

Reuniting with her “Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix)” collaborator, Bia, the two performed the remix of Bia’s breakthrough hit, “Whole Lotta Money.”

During the night, Minaj was also joined by Lil Uzi Vert, as they performed their remix of Uzi’s 2017 hit, “The Way Life Goes,” which contains a prominent sample of “Landslide” by Oh Wonder.

Earlier this year, Minaj dropped a series of collaborations, including one with Fivio Foreign called “We Go Up.” Fivio joined Minaj on stage tonight for a performance of the New York drill track.

One of Minaj’s most famous underground collaborations is 2014’s “Chiraq,” which featured a then-unknown G Herbo. Herbo surprised the audience tonight as he joined Minaj on stage to perform “Chiraq.”

G Herbo And Future Deliver Big Bag Talk In The Boastful New Single ‘Blues’

G Herbo is back with his new single “Blues” featuring Future. Herbo brands his usual aggressive delivery, rapping “Give her racks, she on my nerves / Get it back I hit the stu’ / Be in the traffic with the crew / Keep my savage in the coupe” over the ATL Jacob production.

Future takes on the hook, blending melodic autotune with his shapeshifting flow. “Blues stacked on blues / Money wet in my veins / Tiger face in the presidential / Could’ve bought eight planes,” Hendrix spits before transitioning into his verse.

“Blues” arrives in what has been an active year for G Herbo. The Chicago rapper previously released the singles “Locked In” and “Me, Myself & I” featuring A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Me.

As for Future, he released I Never Liked You at the end of April and more recently appeared on “One Time” from Nav’s Demons Protected By Angels in addition to “Shoot It Myself” from EST Gee’s new album I Never Felt Nun.
