Drake And French Montana Reunite During Houston Tour Stop

The “Splash Brothers” could be back together again. No, not Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, Drake and French Montana who reunited during a stop on the “It’s All A Blur” tour in Houston last night. The tour has been making its way through Texas playing shows in Austin and Dallas, where the rapper met up with Kyle from YouTube prank channel NELK Boys. At the start of the Houston show, Drake walked out with Johnny Manziel who is still a legend for his time quarterbacking at Texas A&M. He’s made a habit of walking out with sports stars throughout the tour. Names like Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum previously popped up.

Now, Drake is reuniting with somebody even more familiar to him. Video is making the rounds online of the rapper embracing French Montana and shouting out his fellow Splash Brother between songs in the show. The pair have collaborated multiple times on songs like “No Stylist” and “No Shopping.” The former has racked up over 400 million streams on Spotify and sits among Montana’s top 5 songs on Spotify. As you’d expect fans online couldn’t help but speculate if there could be new music between the two on the way. It wouldn’t be the first time Drake used his tour as a platform to announce new music with someone. He did so last month with Bad Bunny. Check out the full video below.

Diddy, The Weeknd, French Montana, And 21 Savage Prove They’re In Their Own League On ‘Another One Of Me’

Tonight (September 15), Diddy dropped his much-anticipated R&B album, The Love Album: Off The Grid. On the new album is “Another One Of Me,” a scorching collaboration with 21 Savage, French Montana, and The Weeknd.

This song is particularly special, as Diddy previously teased the song as the last collaboration of The Weeknd’s music career. On the chorus, The Weeknd gives us an empowering, confident farewell.

“Another one of me won’t come around again,” he sings on the song’s chorus, marking the beginning of the end of Abel Tesfaye’s run as The Weeknd.

Elsewhere on the song, the three rappers each deliver verses in which they thrive in their affluence and timelessness, and while The Weeknd may slowly be stepping away from the spotlight, French, 21, and Diddy aren’t letting their reign let up just yet.

The song was first previewed in a Beats commercial last year, sparking much anticipation for the collab.

In the accompanying music video, the four heavy hitters are seen in a digital kingdom, holding the wreckage together as the spit rhymes and deliver vocal bars.

You can see the video for “Another One Of Me” above.

French Montana Donates 500 Canoes To Community Built On Stilts In Lagos, Nigeria

IMG 5522

Rapper-turned-philanthropist French Montana made a generous donation of 500 canoes to the community of Makoko, an impoverished community built on top of coastal waters in Yaba, Lagos Mainland. Makoko served as the site location for Montana’s latest music video “Wish U Well”. His decision to employ local craftsmen in his donation of 500 canoes will boost the local economy and support the livelihood of the community members.

This continues Montana’s journey of giving back to communities in need after deeply connecting with the people, the culture, and understanding what is necessary to support the local ecosystem. Six years ago in Uganda, alongside the release of the diamond record “Unforgettable,” Montana embarked on a vision with the local community while filming the music video with Swae Lee to build the Suubi Health Center. His financial contributions, matched by others, opened the door to maternal healthcare for thousands of underserved mothers, women, and children across 55 remote villages accomplished in partnership with Global Citizen and Mama Hope. This still rings true today as Montana continues his global humanitarian and advocacy efforts giving back to those that don’t have the proper funding or resources.

Makoko serves as the backdrop for the “Wish U Well” music video, capturing the resilient spirit and vibrant culture that thrives within the city. The visuals serve as a love letter to Makoko for Montana and Swae, who spent time together there learning about the way of life and connecting with the people. But looking beyond its captivating visuals and resonant lyrics, the release of “Wish U Well” marks the catalyst for a groundbreaking philanthropic initiative that underscores Montana’s unwavering commitment to driving positive change.

Montana’s impact resonates profoundly as he collaborates with Swae Lee, gamma., and SALXCO to donate 500 wooden canoe boats to a community of 200,000 people who are endangered by critical flooding threats on a regular basis. Makoko, a suburb in Lagos, Nigeria, was once a vibrant “fishermen’s village” with homes built on stilts along the Lagos Lagoon, but now the community faces significant challenges due to pollution and sewage drainage complications. The lack of adequate sanitation systems adds to the challenging situation, but amidst these hardships, innovative projects are emerging to revitalize the community and strengthen its ability to cope with the impacts of climate change. To ensure the success of this initiative, the partners have outlined a clear plan with Montana at the helm: The large financial contribution for the project will fund the production of the 500 boats. With a production rate of approximately 6 boats per week, per contractor, the delivery of all 500 boats is projected to conclude within four months, by December, just in time for Christmas.

“I witnessed firsthand how water is both a lifeline and an obstacle in Makoko. These boats are essential tools transporting the residents of Makoko and goods and services,” said Montana. “As an immigrant from Morocco, giving back to communities in Africa, the place that raised me is so important. When I was filming, I met local leaders who talked about the daily struggles and aspirations of the wider community. I was moved by their spirit and positivity, which inspired me to get involved and to help impact change.”

Earlier this summer, Montana announced a partnership with “gamma.”, a multimedia platform that prioritizes artists, offering a range of creative and business services spanning various artistic and commercial mediums. In conjunction with the partnership came the release of Montana’s latest single and video for “Good Summer”, which blends the timeless allure of Wayne Wonder’s iconic hit “No Letting Go” with the irresistible groove of Nuskie’s “New Orleans Bounce.”

French Montana Donates 500 Canoes to Makoko Community in Lagos, Nigeria

French Montana, the acclaimed musician and philanthropist, has donated 500 canoes to the impoverished community of Makoko in Yaba, Lagos Mainland. Makoko recently served as the backdrop for Montana’s latest music video, “Wish U Well,” released last Friday. Montana’s generous gesture not only aids the community but also stimulates the local economy by involving local craftsmen in the production of the canoes.

This act of kindness continues Montana’s mission to give back to communities in need, rooted in his genuine connection with the people and culture of the regions he visits. Six years ago, during filming “Unforgettable” in Uganda with Swae Lee, Montana initiated the Suubi Health Center project, improving maternal healthcare for underserved mothers and children across 55 remote villages.

The “Wish U Well” video captures the vibrant culture and resilience of Makoko, reflecting Montana’s deep appreciation for the community. Yet, it also marks the launch of a groundbreaking philanthropic effort. Montana, along with Swae Lee, gamma., and SALXCO, plans to donate 500 wooden canoe boats to Makoko’s 200,000 residents, who face recurring flooding threats.

Makoko has grappled with pollution, sewage issues, and insufficient sanitation systems. This initiative aims to revitalize the community and enhance its resilience to climate change impacts. The plan involves a large financial contribution to fund the production of the 500 boats, with an estimated delivery by December, just in time for Christmas. French Montana’s dedication to driving positive change continues to make a meaningful impact on communities worldwide.

“I witnessed firsthand how water is both a lifeline and an obstacle in Makoko.
