Freddie Gibbs Loved That Tom Brady Used One Of His Songs To Celebrate A Win Over The Indianapolis Colts

For a few years now, Tom Brady has used social media to recap the football games he’s won with both the New England Patriots and, now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These recaps usually feature a motivational message from the football player followed by some highlights, usually with a song from a popular artist playing in the background. For this past Sunday’s win against the Indianapolis Colts, Brady recapped the game with a video that featured Freddie Gibbs and Big Sean’s “4 Thangs” in the background. Gibbs caught wind of this development and took to social media to celebrate.

Gibbs reposted Brady’s video on Instagram and wrote, “Tom Brady bout to turn me to a Bucs fan [laughing emoji].” He also reposted the video on Twitter, writing, “My dog TB12!!!”

Gibbs, who hails from Gary, Indiana, has spoken about his distaste for the Indianapolis Colts for well over a decade, as tweets from 2010 prove. “I fux wit DA BEARS and anybody that’s that’s playin the f*ckin colts,” he wrote in one tweet while another simply read, “F*ck the colts.” Gibbs also once wrote, “All y’all n****z from Gary that know y’all grew up as BEAR fans please stop d*ck ridin’ the colts cuz they in the super bowl.” This is in reference to the Colts’ Super Bowl matchup against the New Orleans Saints, in 2010 which they lost by a score of 31-17.

Freddie Gibbs And Jadakiss Are A Menacing Duo With High-Class Raps On ‘Black Illuminati’

It’s been a year and a half since Freddie Gibbs delivered a project to the world with Alfredo alongside producer The Alchemist. While that isn’t a lot of time to wait for a new body of work from an artist, Gibbs is more than ready to unload a collection of raps on his fans. In the past year, Gibbs dropped “Big Boss Rabbit” and “Gang Signs” with Schoolboy Q, in addition to teaming up with the likes Nas, Bobby Sessions, Kenny Mason, and more. Now, Gibbs has aligned himself with Jadakiss, who’s also having quite the year, for their new single “Black Illuminati.”

The video for their new collab portrays them as an impenetrable duo as Freddie and Jada calmly flex their lyrical muscle with menacing raps. The track is presumably the latest single from Gibbs’ upcoming album SSS. While a release date or guest features for it has yet to be revealed, he has shared its roster of producers, and boy is it a good one. Pharrell, Madlib, Working On Dying, The Alchemist, Sevn Thomas, Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, Jake One, DJ Paul, Justice League, Tay Keith, Kaytranada, Bizness Boi, Kenny Beats, and Mike Will Made-It are all set to supply records for SSS according to Gibbs.

As for Jadakiss: He recently joined Benny The Butcher and Busta Rhymes for Snoop Dogg’s “Murder Music.” Jada also received the key to his hometown of Yonkers along with the other members in The LOX — Sheek Louch and Styles P.

Freddie Gibbs Finally Got Bulls Tickets From Chance The Rapper And Took Home DeMar DeRozan’s Jersey

It looks like Freddie Gibbs finally got those Chicago Bulls tickets he wanted — and he walked away with a player’s jersey as a bonus. And, as it turns out, the person he has to thank for it all is the one who was blocking him from getting the tickets in the first place: Chance The Rapper.

Last week, the Gary, Indiana MC lamented his inability to secure tickets to a home game (Gary is much closer to Chicago than Indianapolis, where the Pacers play, despite Chicago’s location in a different state), tweeting, “Can’t get no f*ckin bulls tickets cuz they give em all to Chance the Rapper.” He pointedly reminded the Bulls account of his longtime fandom and needled the Windy City native, joking that “Chance a bucks fan and y’all give him 30 tickets.”

However, earlier this week, Gibbs did manage to make it out to the Bulls’ home game against the Brooklyn Nets, where he met up with Chance himself after taking in the game from some courtside seats. “Chance took my tickets, but he gave me a couple,” he goofed in a video posted from the lounge, where he hung out with The Rapper. However, Chance had a different story for fans: “I don’t got no tickets, so please don’t let n****s tell you I got your tickets,” he pled. “Keep it straight they didn’t have no tickets for Freddie and they blamed it on me.” Gibbs piled on the pressure, though, referring to Chance sharing the tickets as one of his many acts of charity. “He do good for the community,” he teased. “He gave a n**** two. I appreciate it.”

To commemorate the occasion, Gibbs came away with one hell of a souvenir of the event as well: Bulls guard/forward DeMar DeRozan‘s jersey, which the Comptonite shared with Freddie after the game.

Freddie Gibbs Claims He Can’t Get Chicago Bulls Tickets Because They Give Them All To Chance The Rapper

Like many Indiana natives, Freddie Gibbs is a hardcore hoops fan, however, despite growing up in the Hoosier State, which you might think would make him an Indianapolis Pacers fan, Gary, Indiana’s proximity to Chicago meant the gruff-voiced rapper developed more of an affinity for the Bulls. However, as it turns out, despite being a relatively well-known rapper — he was nominated for a Best Rap Album Grammy this year and has seen his profile rise prolifically since his initial foray into the rap game — Freddie can’t get tickets to see his favorite team — and it’s all Chance The Rapper’s fault, apparently.

At least, that’s what Gibbs attributed his rotten luck securing to on Twitter. “Can’t get no f*ckin bulls tickets cuz they give em all to Chance the Rapper,” he tweeted. It’s no secret that Chance is a pretty big hoop head himself, vowing to get a Chicago Sky tattoo after a recent playoff win (no word yet on whether he’s actually done it), getting shots up (poorly) at Staples Center in Los Angeles after a Clippers game, and even buying his new house just 10 minutes away from Michael Jordan’s estate (which might be a coincidence, but had to leave him pretty jazzed). To be fair, Chance is actually a Chicago native with a longstanding track record of community activism, which might have factored into the favoritism.

But while Chance gets to appear on the Jumbotron at Madison Square Garden, it looks like poor Freddie Gibbs can’t even get in the door at the United Center. While it’s possible — likely, even — that Gibbs is just trolling, as he’s wont to do from time to time (he’s currently engaged in a cheeky tet a tet with Wale over a feature that couldn’t get cleared for Folarin II), here’s hoping he and Chance can work out a timeshare or something, since the Bulls are actually good again (the City of Compton acknowledges your debt, Chi-Town. You’re welcome).

Freddie Gibbs Wants To Make An R&B Album After His Next Rap Project

The last few years have found Freddie Gibbs become a successful rapper, from 2014’s Piñata and 2019’s Bandana with Madlib, as well as 2020’s Alfredo. Alas, he’s grown tired of rap, and in a recent interview with Revolt, he shared what he wants to do next.

“This might be one of my last rap albums,” Gibbs said in regards to his upcoming album, SSS. “I ain’t gotta rap no more, man. After SSS, I’ma show y’all … I’m ’bout to bust out with an R&B album. R&B is what I started out doing before all the rap sh*t. Now, all you n****s just wanna make me rap all day, and I don’t wanna rap.” He added, “I wanna go back to my roots. I tried to get signed as an R&B singer in 2004, but every label in the world denied me. So, I had to do rap to get in the door.”

“I tricked y’all n****s into thinking I was a rapper,” he continued. “And I learned to rap so good — better than everybody else, it’s crazy. So now, I’m ’bout to come back to this R&B. And all the n****s that didn’t wanna do no songs with me, like Miguel and all them n****s, they’re gonna be like, ‘What’s up, Gibbs?’ And I’m ’bout to be king of this sh*t.”

This comes after he shared a pair tweets conveying similar ideas towards the end of last month. You can check out his full interview with Revolt here.

Cam’ron And Meek Mill Join The Chorus Of Artists Accusing Consultant Karen Civil Of Dishonest Dealings

Over the weekend, Boston rapper Joyner Lucas accused music industry consultant Karen Civil of stealing $60,000 from him after accepting payment for her services and going on vacation instead. After the initial accusation, a Clubhouse chat with Civil and other industry insiders went disastrously for the self-proclaimed media marketing mogul when her defenses seemed to corroborate some of the accusations against her.

Lucas’ comments echoed a similar incident several years ago in which Civil was accused of making similar moves with money paid to her by associates of Harlem rapper Cam’ron. Catching wind of the new accusations, Cam’ron chimed in via Instagram, posting screenshots of the Twitter conversation as well as portions of court documents from a lawsuit against Civil. “Y’all gonna apologize or nah?!” Cam wrote. “For those that don’t understand, I told people Karin civil been robbing people, they said I was lying. Now she just lost a court case to another female, now they say Karin is foul. When I said it…I was hating.. she also robbed Joyner Lucas for the same exact amount she did my guy @darealdukedagod 60k.. what a co-winky-dink.”

He wasn’t the only one to call her out. Meek Mill also joined the conversation, blaming Civil for a slate of bad press around the time he broke up with Nicki Minaj. “Karen was my friend and turned on me for opportunity,” he asserted. “Start having the blogs posting negative about me on some conspiracy shit lol I forgive her but I definitely don’t wanna deal with y’all industry people that move like that! You should admit what you did to me too!”

Civil replied, arguing that she actually defended him during that time but has since deleted the tweets. “You know damn well I ain’t have no site play you, I literally just supported your album and shown you nothing but cordialness and respect last few years when we seen each other,” she responded. ““Sat on CH rooms defending you and didn’t take part in these Twitter key key moments. Like c’mon with BS narrative.”

However, one rapper had a slightly different perspective on the controversy. Freddie Gibbs offered this tidbit: “I’ve known Karen Civil for years. She ain’t do shit to me tho cuz I’m a real ass nigga and she know better.”

Freddie Gibbs Takes On Drake’s ‘Champagne Poetry’ With A Sharp Remix Of His Own

After delivering a collection of singles this earlier year, Freddie Gibbs made a string of strong guest verses, including appearances on Nas’ “Life Is Like A Dice Game,” Bobby Sessions’ “Gold Relox,” and Kenny Mason’s “Much Money.” Now, Freddie has dropped a remix of Drake’s Certified Lover Boy intro “Champagne Poetry.”

The new remix offers another sharp display of lyricism, which is something we’ve come to expect from the rapper. At one point on the song, Freddie seems to offer a response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Baby Keem’s “Family Ties.

“I was Big Rabbit before the birth of my son,” Freddie raps. “The earth ain’t big enough for the both of us, you gotta get done / they say they smoking Top 5s, but they ain’t smoke through the one.”

The remix brings us closer to the arrival of Freddie’s upcoming album SSS. During an interview with Nicolas-Tyrell Scott for MixMag, he listed Pharrell, Madlib, Working On Dying, The Alchemist, Sevn Thomas, Hit-Boy, and Mike Will Made-It as the possible production lineup for the upcoming album.

You can listen to Freddie’s remix in the video above.
