SZA has a couple of features on Drake’s For All The Dogs, on “Slime You Out” and “Rich Baby Daddy” (the latter of which also features Sexyy Red). “Rich Baby Daddy,” though, has apparently caused some confusion, which SZA has now addressed.

In an Instagram Story shared yesterday (December 27), SZA explained the story behind recording her contribution to the song, saying, “Y’all lmao I was sick w a fever n couldnt breathe when I recorded this and told @champagnepapi no one would understand me n I sound crazy. He said noooo ur fine anyways here’s the lyrics to RBD once n for all.”

She then clarified the lyric, writing, “‘You been so good and you deserve to end your suffering, I need good dick n conversation can you comfort me. I got a feeling this is more than what we both say I got a feeling this is more than feelings. I can’t let you get away .. feels good but it can’t be love . Ain’t a damn thing that I’d do ! Ain’t a damn thing oooooo’ just in case lmao love y’all.”

Meanwhile, SZA explained her musical origins in a recent interview, saying, “Some people choose music as a career, and they feel very certain about what they’re doing and why they’re doing it, but I was never quite certain, and I really only did music to prove a point. […] When I started making music, it was to my ex-fiancé because he was paying for everything. My food, my clothes, where I lived, and he was eight years my senior, so I was so co-dependent.”

Drake Faces Backlash For Morgan Wallen Collaboration

Drake is facing backlash on social media for his decision to feature Morgan Wallen in the music video for his song, “You Broke My Heart,” off of his For All the Dogs: Scary Hours Edition album. Wallen has been a controversial figure since being caught using a racial slur in 2021. In a video published by TMZ from the time, he hurled the n-word, amongst other obscenities, during a drunken return home after a night out in Nashville.

To open the six-minute video, Drake and Wallen discuss a recent breakup over dinner. “I didn’t like her. I think she might have been the wrong girl anyway,” Wallen says. Drake concludes: “God bless her. Let’s see what else is out there; that’s what we need to do.

“That Drake and Morgan Wallen video is… cringe. Morgan has proven he’s a racist… and then they have white women lip syncing the n word?? wtf is going on here,” one user on Twitter wrote, Wednesday. Another posted: “Morgan Wallen the racist? Drake surely couldn’t be stooping this low for attention.”

Fans Call Out Drake On Twitter

Wallen addressed his use of the slur during an interview with Billboard, earlier this month. “I’ve never made an excuse,” he told the outlet. “I never will make an excuse. I’ve talked to a lot of people, heard stories [about] things that I would have never thought about because I wasn’t the one going through it. And I think, for me, in my heart I was never that guy that people were portraying me to be, so there was a little bit of like, ‘Damn, I’m kind of actually mad about this a little bit because I know I shouldn’t have said this, but I’m really not that guy.’ I put myself in just such a sh*t spot, you know? Like, ‘You really messed up here, guy.’ If I was that guy, then I wouldn’t have cared. I wouldn’t have apologized. I wouldn’t have done any of that if I really was that guy that people were saying about me” Be on the lookout for further updates on Drake on HotNewHipHop.

Is Morgan Wallen Featured On Drake’s ‘You Broke My Heart?’

Today (December 20), Drake treated fans to a music video for “You Broke My Heart,” a highlight from the recently released Scary Hours Edition of his For All The Dogs album. And there are some serious surprises.

Is Morgan Wallen Featured On Drake’s “You Broke My Heart?”

While Morgan Wallen is not featured on the song itself, viewers who started the music video will find the country singer having dinner with Drake. The two discuss the ways they were hurt by their exes but have no idea what else is in store.

Drake and Wallen go to head home from the restaurant, only to be blown up as the car explodes. The two women that play their exes then carry the rest of the video doing a lip-sync to the track.

Before Wallen’s appearance in the video, it didn’t seem he had much of a relationship with Drake. He previously took over Drake’s record of the most simultaneous entries on the Billboard Hot 100. And there was a Delaware DJ who made a viral mashup of Wallen’s “Thinking About Me” with Lil Wayne’s “Right Above It” (which features Drake). But that was the closest the two came in the news to interacting… Until now.

Drake’s For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition, which he initially announced as Scary Hours 3, tacked six extra songs to the tracklist of his previously released For All The Dogs album. One of them, “Evil Ways” featuring J. Cole, is among Uproxx‘s “Best Songs Of 2023.” Now we know “You Broke My Heart” will be in the spotlight.

On Tuesday evening, December 19, Drake confirmed via his Instagram Story that he will drop a video for “You Broke My Heart” tomorrow, December 20. The announcement is accompanied by a photo of a “BRKNHRT” license plate on the street.

Previously, Drake gave the video treatment to For All The Dogs tracks “Another Late Night” featuring Lil Yachty, then “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole, and “Polar Opposites.” The “Another Late Night” video was directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett, while Gibson Hazard directed “First Person Shooter.”

For All The Dogs was released on October 6 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — his 13th-career No. 1 album — and For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition arrived on November 17. “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole also became Drake’s 13th-career No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (and J. Cole’s first). Cole and Drake will co-headline the It’s All A Blur Tour — Big As The What? at the top of 2024. Nicki Minaj Reveals “Needle” Was Initially Meant For Drake’s “For All The Dogs”

Nicki Minaj and Drake finally reunited on Pink Friday 2. The latest project from New York’s finest hit streaming services on December 8th and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The tracklist boasts 22 songs with Nicki holding down the majority of it on her own. However, Drake and J. Cole’s appearance became highlights once she unveiled the project in its entirety. The former appears on “Needle,” marking another exceptional addition to their collaborative streak together.

On Wednesday (December 13), Nicki Minaj continued her press run for Pink Friday 2 with Kai Cenat. She slid through to the AMP House for an incredibly entertaining stream where they discussed an array of topics. Eventually, Nicki shed some light on her and Drake’s latest collaboration. However, it also doubles as an explanation for her absence on For All The Dogs. “Originally, it was for Drake’s album,” she said, adding that she immediately fell in love with the song and hoped that it would somehow land on Pink Friday 2. “And then what happened was, in the end, Drake – and he was about to turn in For All The Dogs – he sent me two songs… That same day, he also told me, ‘Hey, I’m not using ‘Needle’ for the album ‘cause it doesn’t fit the sonic vibe. Do you want it?’”

Classic Dricki Vibes

Nicki continued to explain that it felt like a perfect collaboration for herself and Drake, one that aligns with the numerous other records that they’ve linked up on in the past. “It just reminds me of all of my Dricki nostalgia. The song is so Drake,” she said. Only Drake can do it and it reminds me for the first time like when we collaborated on ‘Moment 4 Life,’ which was on Pink Friday 1,” Kai chimed in, referring to “Moment For Life” as a “motivational and inspirational” song.

Although Drake confirmed that Nicki Minaj would appear on For All The Dogs, the Barbz certainly felt a type of way when her name wasn’t on the tracklist. Fortunately, it worked out in the end and Drake and Nicki Minaj closed out the year on a high note together. Lil Uzi Vert Previews New Song With Drake Interpolation

Ever since they dropped Pink Tape earlier this year, Lil Uzi Vert has been teasing a follow-up. They’ve been working on two separate projects, though which one is coming first has shifted back and forth. For a while, it seemed like Barter 16 would be the first follow-up. Uzi began working on the Young Thug-tributing album earlier this year. The admiration for Thugger clearly goes deep as Uzi worked with some of his frequent collaborators like London On Da Track and even recreated a famous Thug album cover for the project. Despite claims that the album has already been turned in to Uzi’s label, news on it has dried up.

Now fans are expecting LUV Is Rage 3 to be released first. That’s because Uzi has upped the teases in recent weeks as they’re clearly working on the project. They’ve previewed a few different songs recently on their Instagram story and Live. Recently, they shared a new song that had fans really excited because of what it interpolates. The new song features snippets of “7969 Santa” from Drake’s new album For All The Dogs. The specific portion sampled comes from Teezo Touchdown and features Uzi singing over it. Listen to the full clip of the new song below.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Newest Snippet

Even though they haven’t released much material recently, it’s still been a busy time for Lil Uzi Vert. Earlier this week they made a surprise appearance in their hometown of Philadelphia alongside Travis Scott. Scott is currently on his CIRCUS MAXIMUS tour in support of his new album UTOPIA which has featured a few notable guest appearances.

Uzi also may have another hit on their hands alongside Nicki Minaj. The pair teamed up for a new song called “Everybody” from Nicki’s new album Pink Friday 2 over the weekend. The track has caught on immediately with videos of fellow celebs like North West, Lizzo, and Fivio Foreign who all shared videos of themselves dancing to it on social media. The track is also pulling off impressive streaming numbers ahead of almost every other deep cut. What do you think of Lil Uzi Vert sampling Drake on a snippet of new music for LUV Is Rage 3? After Their Missing ‘For All The Dogs’ Collab, Nicki Minaj And Drake Reunite On ‘Needle,’ Which Also Features A SZA Cameo

Nicki Minaj’s highly anticipated new album Pink Friday 2 has arrived as one of the final major releases of 2023. Given Minaj’s star power, she was able to pull some big-time collaborators into the fold for the project. That includes longtime associate Drake, who features on “Needle.”

The track also features a surprise cameo from SZA via a sampled voicemail that introduces the track. She says, “I mean, I don’t know if I like girls, I saw Sheila at Seraphin. Maybe we had too much tequila. Actually, yeah, we definitely had too much tequila ’cause I don’t know why I’m even playin’ on your phone right now. I’ma just block you, bye.”

Drake offers the song’s first verse and a catchy chorus, on which he sing-raps, “Pull up the Maybach and bend your leg back / Let’s engage that, don’t delay that / You’re like a needle, life’s a haystack / Friends they can leave us, you could stay back.”

This collaboration resolves the For All The Dogs situation: A link-up between the two was previously teased, but when Drake’s latest album dropped, Minaj was nowhere to be found on it. Now, though, they finally managed to make something happen before the year ended.

Jim Jones Gives Drake His Flowers While Choosing The “Best Album Of The Year”

Jim Jones has declared For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition his best album of the year. Jones gave his answer at last month’s ComplexCon. “That extendo clip that Drake just dropped got real spooky on n-ggas,” Jones explained. However, he also gave props to Too Good To Be True and Utopia. The six-song deluxe EP recently helped push the Drake product back to the top of the Billboard album charts. Despite the success of the album, last week only marked its second week at No. 1. It displaced Stray Kids’ ROCK-STAR, which tumbled to No. 7.

Furthermore, For All The Dogs has also reached platinum certification in recent weeks. However, the RIAA has yet to confirm this. For All The Dogs was able to hold off another resurgence from 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which spent another week at No. 2. Ironically, the first track of Drake’s EP shouts out Taylor Swift. “Taylor Swift the only n-gga that I ever rated. Only one could make me drop the album just a little later. Rest of y’all, I treat you like you never made it,” Drake raps on “Red Button”.

Jim Jones Goes After Dee-1

However, Jones doesn’t have love for everyone. In early November, Jones appeared to go after New Orleans rapper Dee-1. “I don’t care about what [Dee-1] said. That boy don’t know me. I know his trick. He using my name for fame. It’s all good … I do more in one month for people than he’ll ever do in his whole life. I really give back to the people, I don’t care about none of the rhetoric he talking about,” Jones said. His comments came after Dee had called him out.

Despite this, Dee-1 appeared unfazed. “Jim Jones, I love you; Meek Mill, I love you; Rick Ross, I love you. The world wants it to become something negative and unhealthy, but let’s make sure we use this as an opportunity to educate and to communicate… And if that means we can be friends at the end of this — cool. If we can’t ever be friends — cool, all good. Just go be a better man of God and I’ma try to be the best man of God I can be, and it’s gucci,” Dee-1 said in response.
