Nicki Minaj just unloaded a near-MLA-formatted essay on Twitter on Friday (January 26), seemingly responding to Megan Thee Stallion’s new diss track “HISS.” While nothing is explicitly confirmed, pretty much everyone involved and spectating is feeding into the idea that Meg dissed Nicki here. The Young Money MC already responded to this explicitly on social media, making fun of the Houston rapper and liking tweets shading her. Now, it seems like she came through with a developed “statement” of sorts on the matter, and you can check it out in full a bit further down below. “Ain’t generate not one penny of a profit yet & claim she went to college but can’t read her contract …?” Nicki Minaj continued. “Another manipulation so she can kick ppl to the curb after they helped her. Meanwhile, others are also chiming in on this beef, who they think is “winning” right now, and whether or not it’s all inflated for show. Either way, if this does turn into a full-blown diss track exchange, all we can ask for is that both femcees stay in top form. Much like the tension that exists among today’s femcees, we’ve previously seen both Foxy and Kim throw shade at each other over the years. When the “Magic Stick” hitmaker went viral for excitedly projecting that her upcoming memoir would garner better sales than the Bible last week, her contemporary couldn’t help but laugh at the notion on social media.

As per usual, Kim’s fans stood behind her – including Deal or No Deal alum Claudia Jordan, who expressed her opinion that Brown should stay in her lane. When she got wind of this, the 45-year-old slid straight into the model’s DMs to give her a piece of her mind. “Somebody better warn you nobody ass b**ch,” Foxy wrote to Claudia. “Lol!!!! What you gonna do to me?? Fight me like your career has been fighting success as of late!? No one is scared of an old b**ch, Trust me I am one too! Now fall back and stop embarrassing yourself du**y,” the latter clapped back.

Foxy Brown Lashes Out at Claudia Jordan for Defending Lil Kim

The Brooklyn-born lyricist decided to hit back with a low blow about Jordan’s “Dorito feet,” but the former pageant queen didn’t let the hate get her down. Instead, she re-posted Brown’s insults on her IG Story and wrote, “All ’cause I commented on a post that Kim bothers no one and to leave her alone… Here comes this heifer in DMs.”

The Weeknd On “Blinding Lights”: “I Thought It Was Gonna Be A Flop”

Abel Tesfaye is going through major changes, and the world is certainly taking notice. As the 33-year-old continues to distance himself from his long-time stage name, The Weeknd, he appears to be moving away from the world of music and instead, expanding his acting and producing resume. Fans have been tirelessly waiting for the quickly approaching premiere of HBO’s The Idol, in which Tesfaye stars alongside Lily-Rose Depp. In addition to that, he reportedly wrapped filming on another project – this one opposite Jenna Ortega – over the weekend, though few details regarding that have been shared at this time.

Somewhere in the midst of his busy schedule, the After Hours artist found time to sit down with Vanity Fair for their annual TV issue. The Weeknd posed for the magazine’s cover. He also spoke with them about his Sam Levinson-directed series, his music career, and plans for the future, among other things. Perhaps the most surprising issue from Tesfaye in his interview was an admission that he wasn’t confident in one of his biggest songs in recent memory, “Blinding Lights” before releasing it.

The Weeknd Lacked Confidence in “Blinding Lights”

“I thought [that song] was gonna be a flop,” the Canadian confessed. Thanks to a boost from platforms like TikTok, however, “Blinding Lights” went on to find massive success. It’s since been certified diamond by the RIAA with 10 million copies sold. Reflecting on how social media influences music today, Tesfaye explained, “It’s a new generation of angsty teens discovering all the dark music like when I was 14. Kurt Cobain, Wu-Tang, and all these songs that, as a kid, I probably shouldn’t be listening to, and 50 Cent. This f*cking dark and amazing escape.”

Elsewhere, the genre-bending vocalist recalls some of his earlier releases, admitting that, in the beginning, his music was “very cult-y.” Interestingly, The Idol sees him take on the role of a Hollywood cult leader. He lures Depp’s young pop star character into living a wild and salacious life in the name of fame and fortune.

Margot Robbie & Brad Pitt’s “Babylon” Bombs At Box Office

Babylon, the newest film from Damien Chazelle bombed at the box office with $3.5 million across 3,343 venues over the weekend. The movie stars Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and more of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Babylon, which clocks in at 3 hours and 9 minutes, follows various characters working in the 1920s entertainment industry as the era of the silent film comes to an end. Robbie has previously described it as being crazier than The Wolf of Wall Street.

“There’s a dizzying amount of debauchery,” she told Empire in a recent interview. “One of the most disturbing, chaotic scenes I’ve ever witnessed is in this film. It involves a fight with a snake. I won’t tell you who wins or loses that fight, but trust me, it’s insane.”

Robbie’s next opportunity for a box office smash will come with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in 2023.

The impressive cast for Babylon also includes Tobey Maguire, Olivia Wilde, Chloe Fineman, Flea, and more. The film had a budget of $80 million.

Damien Chazelle is best known for his films Whiplash (2014), and La La Land (2016). The latter of which earned him six Academy Awards, including Best Director. He became the youngest to earn the honor at the age of 32.

As for box-office successes, Avatar: The Way of Water, continued to dominate over the weekend. Despite extreme weather conditions hitting the United States, the film tallied another $56 million. The movie has now grossed $855.4 million globally. Only Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion have reached the $1 billion mark in 2022.
